The Last Daughter of Krypton

I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING EXCEPT MY OWN IDEAS

Summary: This is the story of KlairEl (pronounced Ka-lare-el) of Krypton. Secondborn child, firstborn daughter, to Jor-El and LauRa-El of Krypton. Heir apparent to the house of Ra through mother LauRa-El. The younger twin of Kal-El of Krypton the firstborn child and son to Jor-El and LauRa-El of Kryton. You should know his story by now but how would that story be changed by having a younger twin sister.

I will only be following the script line by line for the first part of this chapter then it will be following KlairEl throughout her life. I will still have Smallville episodes and everything but this is going to be an AU version of events.

Chapter 1: Journey to Earth

Kanton, Krypton*****

"Come LauRa it is time"

Jor-El told his wife as he walked through the crystal halls of their home. He was carrying their firstborn and only son Kal-El while LauRa was carrying their daughter KlairEl. They couldn't believe it, that it was finally time to say goodbye to their darling children but it was the only way to save their life. Their home planet Krypton would be gone in just a few hours but their children would be on their way to their new home. Earth.

LauRa was openly crying as they both made their way into the launch chamber which held both of the custom-made ships. KlairEl was the first to be put into her ship after her parents kissed her forehead and bid her farewell.

"Goodbye, my sweet daughter., LauRa said

"May you grow up strong and be happy my darling daughter," Jor-El said.

KlairEl's ship-launched without incident and then it was Kal-El's turn. Just like with KlairEl they each kissed his forehead and then placed him in the ship.

"Goodbye, my baby boy," LauRa said

"Farewell, my son," Jor-El said

Just as the ship was closing LauRa finally voiced a fear that has been building up ever since she heard of her husband's plan to save their children.

"But Jor-El, what if they don't love them?"

Jor-El reached for his wife's hand and slowly brought them out of the ship allowing it to close.

"Their destiny is set LauRa. Farewell, my children."

As Kal-El's ship reached the outer atmosphere the beautiful planet behind him exploded right as his ship kicked itself into hyperspace.

For the next four years, Kal-El sleeps peacefully in his stasis pod without even knowing he is asleep. His first real memory will be when his ship opens on Earth. He will not remember his parents at all and he will grow up believing himself to be human with abilities.

KlairEl is another story though. Due to the destruction of their home planet, she immediately became the heir to her mother's bloodline house. The House of Ra. In becoming not only the heir but the last living member of the house (Kal-El doesn't count because he has the House of El Lordship) her Genetic Knowledge Inheritance happened then instead of when she reached 15 years. This happened only in emergencies to preserve the family bloodline.

For the next four years as Kal-El slept KlairEl was learning. She learned everything she would need to fulfill duties as the heir to the house of Ra and the foundation of what it would take to become The Head of the House. She is the future Lady Ra. Now she had all this information in her head but she would have to learn how to use it and what it all meant. (Think of having a new program downloaded onto your computer. You have the information but you have to learn to use it to truly understand it.)

The most important difference between the twins is that while Kal-El knows nothing of his heritage, KlairEl knows it all. She will grow up knowing she is a Kryptonian and what happened to her planet and her people. She will never fully embrace Earth as her home because while she may grow up on Earth she has the upbringing of a Kryptonian.

Smallville Kansas, Earth*****

Helicopter

Lionel Luthor and his son Lex were on their way to Smallville for a Luthorcorp business transaction. Lionel was reading a Daily Planet paper while Lex was holding his hands over his.

"This has got to stop. Open your eyes, Lex" Lionel screamed at his son

"I can't," Lex said

"Luthors are not afraid. We don't have that luxury. We're leaders. You have a destiny, Lex. You're never going to get anywhere with your eyes closed."

Smallville*******

It was a bright and sunny day as Johnathan and Martha Kent walked into Nell's flower shop on Main Street. Lana Lang was playing dress-up beside the counter as her parents were at the homecoming game. Her aunt Nell was working behind the counter.

"Abracadabra," Lana said just as the Kents walked in.

"Afternoon Nell" Jonathan called out.

"Johnathan. Martha. What a surprise. What brings the reclusive Kents to town?" Nell asks.

"Tulips. Red ones if you have them." Martha says

"What about a tiger orchid?" Nell questions Martha

"No thanks. Martha has her heart set on tulips." Jonathan answers for his wife.

"Yes, well they are a very uncomplicated flower," Nell replies.

Martha finally notices Lana and walks over and bends down in front of the little girl.

"That is a beautiful dress, Lana. Are you a princess?" she asks the child.

"I'm a fairy princess," Lana replies

"Hey, where are her parents," Jonathan questions Nell as she completes their order of flowers.

"Oh, they're at the homecoming game with everyone else. I'm being the good aunt." Nell replies.

"Do you want to make a wish?" Lana asks Martha.

"I would love to make a wish." Martha says as Lana waves her wand over Martha's head and says "Okay, abracadabra."

Later in the tuck

Johnathan is bringing back some feed while Martha is sitting in the cab of the truck starring out the window with a faraway look on her face.

"I know what you wished for," Jonathan stated as he climbed into the truck.

"To see a little face. It's all I ever wanted." Martha replies as they share a kiss before getting interrupted by all the cheering right outside the truck.

"Hey, looks like Smallville won again," Jonathan says as he pulls out onto the street heading for home.

Cream Corn Factory

Lionel is talking with the Ross brothers over by their trucks as Lex is throwing rocks at a crow sitting on a fence post.

"Lex? Son?" Lionel questions looking around for his son as Lex turns around to see what his father wanted. Lionel turns around without saying anything else. "Now where do I sign?" Lionel asks the two brothers.

"Right here, Mr. Luthor." They reply.

Now with no one watching him, Lex wanders out into the cornfield where he hears someone say "Help me."

This scares Lex so he runs and trips. When he looks up he sees that a teenager was tied to a scarecrow cross. The boy looks down at Lex and says again. "Help me."

At that time the first meteor hits the ground in the same field they are in a blows up a massive cloud of dirt. That heads straight for the two boys. Lex sees this and runs away screaming by gets caught in it anyway along with the tied-up teen.

Back in town

Everyone stops what they are doing and looks up into the sky. Nell walks out of her flower shop with Lana in her arms. Lana sees her parents across the street and yells "Mommy! Daddy!"

The couple looks at their daughter but then looks back into the sky just as a meteor hits them and the car killing them instantly.

After that Meteors start to rain down and people start screaming and scrambling.

Back in the truck

The Kents are driving down a deserted road when a Meteor hits the Smallville sign right behind them and they both look back.

"What's happening Johnthan?" Martha screams out

Then unknown to them the first of two ships make a landing right in front of them closely followed by the second. Jonathan tries to brakes but fails to stop the truck from flipping headfirst into the newly made ditch.

Ending of following the script

4 years old cornfield

When her ship opens KlairEl knows that she is on a planet called Earth. She knows her name is KlairEl and her brother's name is Kal-El. She knows that her home is gone and that this planet was to be her and her brother's new home. She knows she is supposed to feel sad about this but she doesn't have any true memories just information so she doesn't have any emotional attachments to anything yet. She climbs out of her ship and pulls out her red blanket and wraps it around herself. Her brother's ship has now opened but he is not awake yet.

She knows that this planet is home to a race of people that look like her people and are called Humans. She knows that under this yellow sun she and her brother will have special abilities that these humans don't have. She knows that she must not let the humans know what she is until she knows she can trust them. What does trust mean again oh ya basically if you can rely on a person? She knows that with her level of knowledge she would look like a genius to these humans due to this planet's primitive nature.

While she is going over all this her ship starts to deconstruct itself and forms a band around her wrist while the left-over materials are being absorbed into her body. She knows this is what is supposed to happen and that her mother's knowledge now resides in the bracelet. The mental link will not become stable enough for communication for about 3 months. That is how long it will take her body to completely adapt to the yellow sun's radiation. She decides to follow her brother's lead, due to him being the firstborn, until she can talk with her mother.

Her brother finally wakes up and climbs out of his ship. He looks at her and smiles a big smile before he begins to walk off. KlairEl is about to follow him but sees that he left the key to his ship and the heart of the ship in the open where anyone can get them. She doesn't understand. Didn't he have the knowledge she did? It was the first lesson in Space Travel History to never leave your ship so vulnerable. Well since her brother was going to be stupid she decided to do things her way.

With that thought, KlairEl took the heart of the ship out of its slot and placed it where Kal-El had slept. That way the ship would not accidentally activate. She then pressed the octagon key and the ship sealed up. With nowhere to place the key right now, she decided to just carry it with her. Now that the ship was secure she was going to follow her brother's footprints in an attempt to locate the fool. Before she could though she saw something slide off of her brother's ship and form itself into a human body. For the first time since she woke up, she didn't know something. Who was this, what is it doing here, and most importantly were they a threat?

The body finally finished forming into that of a young boy around her age. The boy had short black hair and now that she thought about it he looked like he could be from the house of Zod. This was not good. Before she could say anything the boy saw her and started running. KlairEl was about to give chase when she heard humans approaching the boy and with her x-ray vision, she saw the humans put him in a cage. This was really not good now. She knew that she could not let these humans get her or her brother so she decided the boy could fend for himself for now. After all, if he was from the house of Zod nothing good could come from him.

KlairEl lifted her brother's ship with one hand and started walking off to find her brother. It took her about a 10-minute walk but she eventually found her brother squatting down in front of a wrecked red pickup truck with two unconscious humans inside. One was male and the other was female, most likely a mated couple, no that is wrong. KlairEl had to think for a second. Married. That was the term used on Earth. They must be a married couple. She then realized that she would need to familiarize herself with Earth terms more to not give away her secret.

She was about to pull her brother along to find shelter from the humans with the cage when the male human woke up and saw them. He called for his mate and now they were both awake. Just great KlairEl thought.

It didn't take long for the two humans to climb out of their overturned truck and take stock of their situation. The female human got a blanket out from behind the seat and put it around Kal-El. Then with no respect for boundaries, she picked him up. The married humans argued for a bit while KlairEl kept a close eye on her brother. During the argument, KlairEl listened carefully to learn as much as she could. The male human's name was Johnathan, the female's name was Martha, they were in a place called Smallville, Kansas, the couple apparently couldn't have kids and the female wanted to take them home while the man was opposed.

This could work out in their favor. If this human couple took them home they could blend in better than if they were on their own. Maybe her brother wasn't as stupid as she first thought. Never mind he just put his finger in his nose he must be an idiot or maybe there was a problem with his knowledge inheritance. She would need to ask her mother's A.I. when she was able to talk to her.

The argument finally ended and the male human, Jonathan, went off to find them transportation while the female human, Martha, sat down on the ground. While Johnathan was gone Martha tried to get KlairEl to come to her and sit with her brother on her lap but KlairEl wouldn't budge from where she was standing still holding on to her brother's ship. The human female finally gave up and started to talk to Kal-El with a baby-like voice as she kept a close eye on KlairEl. KlairEl tuned her out for the most part and looked around to see if she saw any danger. When she looked back to where they came from to see if she could see the humans with the cage she saw nothing. They must be gone. Good.

KlairEl turned her head back towards them when she heard Martha ask Kal-El his name. Her brother just continued to look around as if he didn't understand or hear Martha at all. Definitely got the short end of the knowledge stick. It was then that KlairEl decided to speak up.

"KlairEl"

That was her first word ever spoken. Not mama, not dada her first word was her name. Since she had never spoken before her speech was a bit slurred and would stay like that until her body fully adjusted to the atmosphere of this planet. It honestly made her sound like a two-year-old who couldn't pronounce words correctly. She also apparently had a slight accent that could be mistaken for, to her knowledge, Russian.

The human female looked towards her with a shocked look on her face.

"What did you say, sweetie?"

KlairEl decided that since for the moment she sounded like a regular toddler, well a Russian toddler, that she would act like one too. This meant that she couldn't show this human female how smart she is right now. Not until she had more information.

"KlairEl." she pointed to herself. "Kal-El" she pointed to her brother.

"Clarel and Kalel" the human repeated to herself.

KlairEl could tell with how Martha said the names that she got the spelling wrong but that was good enough for now. It was at this point that Johnathan reappeared driving an old truck that had a flatbed in the back. Apparently, the owner of the truck died and Johnathan took the truck until he could get home. Maybe humans were more resourceful than she had first thought.

Johnathan ushered Martha, who still had Kal-El in her arms, into the truck. He then slowly approached me with his hands held up showing that he meant no harm. Wow just because a child didn't fall over themselves to go into the arms of a stranger they acted like the child was a frightened animal.

KlairEl decided enough was enough and just ignored Johnathan. She picked up her brother's ship with one hand while holding her blanket and key in the other. She then proceeded to pass Johnathan and put the ship onto the flatbed of the truck. After that, she climbed into the cab of the truck with her brother and sat in the middle of the seat where she would be between the two adults.

Johnathan finally got out of his speechless stupor and put a tarp over the ship and climbed into the truck as well. A little way down the road another human male ran out into the middle of the road. He said that his son was hurt and that he needed help. Great more humans. Johnathan went to help the other human male and left us sitting in the truck. When they came back Johnathan was carrying a small human male child who had no hair. Strange. Finally, after the two new human males were in the truck, making KlairEl go into Martha's lap too, they started on their way again.

They stopped at a building called a Hospital, a healing center, and Johnathan helped the two human males inside. Martha then scooted back over to the right side of the truck allowing KlairEl to sit on the seat again. It took a long time for Johnathan to come back out but eventually, they were on their way to their house. Along the way, the two human adults talked and KlairEl listened trying to learn as much as she could about her and her brother's situation.

She learned that they were the house of the Kents or in Earth terms, the Kent family. The human male they just helped was named Lionel Luthor of the Luthor family. His son was named Lex. The Kents were farmers, which was good. Farms meant that there was plenty of space and privacy. If they played their cards right this could work out in their favor.

When they pulled up into the driveway both human adults sighed in relief when they saw that their home structures were safe from the meteors. Martha picked up Kal-El again and rushed into the main home structure while Johnathan stood looking at the ship. KlairEl got out of the cab picked up the ship looked at Johnathan and simply said "Where" still playing as if she was a normal toddler. Well as normal as a toddler can be that fell from the sky in a spaceship.

He led her to an underground structure where the ship was placed and then recovered with an ugly green sturdy cloth, tarp, that was the word she was looking for. He then kneeled in front of KlairEl and picked her up making sure the red blanket was sufficiently covering her. It was at this time that he noticed the key that she held in her hand. He tried to take the key from her but she said "No.". Giving up for now Johnathan carried her into the same structure that his mate, wife, took Kal-El.
