Chapter Two: Shopping and Learning History

Chanel was levitating Hadrian's trunk of essentials as the two walked to the edge of the ward line. Suddenly Rilsey, the house elf for the Potters that adored Harry, popped up.

"Young Master Harry is leaving?" Rilsey asked Harry. "Is the Young Master going to Hogwarts? It is too early for the Young Master to leave."

"Yes Rilsey I am leaving for the next several years. I am not going to Hogwarts, I am going to a school that is better for people for me. Listen Rilsey, if you promise to be a good elf and obey my family I will work harder than anyone else just to see you earlier, do you promise me Rilsey?"

"Rilsey promises to be a good house-elf for when the Young Master Harry returns." Rilsey promises Harry. "Rilsey will miss the Young Master Harry, Rilsey doesn't want Harry to leave."

"I'll miss you Rilsey, but I have to leave now." Harry said with his voice filled with sorrow knowing that he would miss the house elf that was always willing to help him out when his parents forgot about him, Rilsey even bought Harry gifts.

"You do know that it's not possible to graduate early from the Academy, right? Seven years is the amount of time each student must spend there, it's just a matter of what a person decides to learn while they are there." Chanel told Hadrian

"I know, and I intend to be the best." Hadrian tells Chanel. "I can speak to snakes too. Is that a unique skill?"

"You already know the answer to that Hadrian, and don't pretend that you don't." Chanel said while forcibly suppressing the shudder that ran through her body. She was in her last year of school so she can still remember some of what Voldemort's war was like. "Grab my arm, I will apparate us to the town we have to go to."

-Scene Change-

"This town is in the state of Maine in the United States, the name of the town is Princeton named after the one in Massachusetts oddly enough. The population of the town is completely aware of magic and the school that they provide materials for, however the magical community still has to be hidden due to the laws of the ICW and any of the rare travelers passing through." Chanel tells Hadrian.

Hadrian looked around as Chanel told him some background information about the town of Princeton, the Academy's local town. Hadrian absently what kind of people actually went to the two schools; were they all prodigies like him, or were there magic users from the local area. If the school truly only accepted prodigies and/or geniuses then they wouldn't have a large student population, but the way Chanel talked about the schools there seemed to be a fair amount of students.

"Chanel do the schools truly only accept the best of best or do they accept other kinds of students as well?" Harry was wanting to know more about the Academy he would be attending.

"The schools accepts those destined for greatness, but a private school cannot survive taking so few students. Luckily many of the alums for the schools are really successful so they are able to donate money to the school so much that the schools were able to get rid of the tuition entirely. We are very thankful that our alums that donate so much money so in return we also accept legacy students if they have magic. An interesting fact is that the founders of the Ivy League schools all went to the Academy, so when students graduate from either school we have the opportunity to attend any one of the schools we want." Chanel informs Hadrian.

"Are you going to attend one of the Ivy League schools?" Hadrian asks Chanel as she leads him into the magical side of Princeton.

"I would like to be able to England to study at either Cambridge or Oxford, but since it is way easier to go to one of the Ivy League colleges I will probably attend Columbia in New York City. I have lived in the country all my life so I would like to see what life in a big city is like." Chanel explains to Hadrian. "We will be going to Wicked Wizardwear first which is immediately on the right."

Hadrian and Chanel enter Wicked Wizardwear and see a woman fitting a boy the same age as Hadrian. Chanel nudges Hadrian to get on the stand next to the boy, not long after he starts standing on the fitting stand another woman walks out from the back and over to Chanel to see what he requires.

"Welcome to Wicked Wizardwear! My name is Joanne Hale, what can I get for you today?" The newly identified Joanne Hale asks Chanel.

"He needs the Flawless Trader." Chanel tells the tailor

"What goods will he be requiring for his business today?" Joanne asks Chanel becoming more professional hearing the code.

"I don't get what all the secrecy is about. The only people that even find out about the magical side of this town are the people that are going to the schools, or are returning to check something with the schools. My father returns to the school fairly often to donate money, it's his philosophical venture, you know?"

"Of course, however I have no idea what my father spends his money on. His philosophical venture would probably be spending money on my younger brother." Hadrian informs the other boy with a joking tone.

"Oh, you're British that's so cool I always wanted to visit there but my father hates the government there. And that sucks about your father and younger brother, but look at it this way now that you are attending here you know you will be better than them and you'll show those bastards you aren't to be underestimated." The other boy tells Hadrian "My name is Noah Lockridge by the way, what is yours?"

"Nice to meet you Noah, my name is Hadrian Potter. It is okay for me to call you Noah, right?" Hadrian replies to Noah. "By the way what does your father do for a living?"

"What else would you call me, Hadrian? My father is CEO and President of Lockridge Industries which manufactures magical gadgets." Noah tells Hadrian as his tailor finishes up. "Well I've got to go, see you at school."

"What will I need all these different variants of suit jackets for?" Hadrian asks Chanel "And how will I pay for anything, I didn't bring any money with me?"

"You are getting all these clothes for a variety of situations, some of your professors require a certain type of clothing in their classes. And the school gives me money for me to spend on your school materials." Chanel tells Hadrian "Now come on we have other things we need to buy."

Next up Chanel leads Hadrian to Impossible Inks where they buy some notebooks along with pens and pencils. The also buy some rolls and quills for the the classes that require them. Chanel tells Hadrian that since he will be taking some Muggle classes in the first few years then using muggle materials. She also tells him that muggles are called no-mags in America.

"Can we go to Brutus' Broom Shop and buy a broom? Are there quidditch teams at the school?" Hadrian asks Chanel

"No. The school did not give enough money to buy all your materials as well as a broom. Unless you want to be the only one in your classes without the necessary materials?" Chanel answers Hadrian.

"You're right I can't be the only one in my classes without all of my materials. But you never answered my question if there is quidditch at the Academy?" Hadrian replies to Chanel but is still confused.

"Let me put it this way, you don't need to buy a broom at the shop here."Chanel tells Hadrian while leading them into Lucky Library to pick up the books he will need.

Chanel leaves Hadrian to roam the shelves to look at books on his own. Hadrian sees many interesting books and not for the first time he wishes that he brought his own money so that he can buy some of these books.

"Alright Hadrian, the last thing we have to buy is a wand. You may not always need one of you are predisposed to using a different kind of magic. I use a staff myself, but I still have a wand to avoid unsavory questions." Chanel tells Hadrian as the two enter Witty Wands.

"Welcome to my shop Mr. Potter, I am Terrence Witland owner of this fine shop. Now let's get you situated, follow me to the back." Witland tells Hadrian who looks at Chanel skeptically. Chanel motions for him to follow to the back.

"Now since you are curious the front of the shop are all pre-made wands that I get from students at the schools who take the wand crafting class I teach. Those are for wizards and witches that are need of a wand and find the shop. For the schools I create each student a custom wand." Witland tells Hadrian. "Now, reach out with your magic to see what type of woods are compatible for you." Hadrian did so and reached his magic out to survey the woods finding two woods. "Blackthorn and Vine, a very interesting combination a warrior that will astound those who think they know you best. It is extremely common for custom wand to have more than one wood and the same for wand cores. Now reach out with your magic to find suitable cores." Hadrian once again does what Witland tells him. Reaching out with his magic Hadrian once again finds two worthy materials. "Hmm two of my rarest materials; White River Monster Spine and Chimera Scale fragment. Very powerful and yet still able to do the magic that requires finesse. I will have to watch out for you Mr. Potter. Now if you would go back to the waiting area and wait I will begin to work on your wand."

"Is he making your wand now?" Chanel asks Hadrian as he exits the backroom, seeing him nod Chanel continues. "This is the longest part of the shopping trip so I suggest we meditate."

Hadrian begins to meditate, trusting someone to wake him up when the wand was ready. He was correct as Witland roused him when the wand was finished.

"Get up, Mr. Potter your new wand is ready. Would you like anything else?" Witland asks Hadrian. Hadrian went to rouse Chanel as he was out of his depth with shopping. "How do you know this isn't a test that you'll fail if you wake her up?" Witland stated. Hadrian stopped to think things through, he didn't want to fail any tests after all.

'If this is a test it would have to be based off of what I would already know. And it wouldn't be about anything that isn't in a wand shop, so what else would they sell in a wand shop...holsters! They sell wrist holsters in wand shops!' Hadrian thought to himself.

"I would like the finest wand holster you have." Hadrian said confidently knowing that he was correct.

"Good job Hadrian, I knew you would pass. Now we can both take the easy way to the school." Chanel said proudly of her charge.

"Wait, how did you get the White River Monster Spine, all knowledge of how to lure it is lost when Thiago Quintana died." Hadrian asks Witland

"I was fishing in Arkansas with a no-mag friend of mine when he accidentally caught one, I took it from him and obliviated him. Unfortunately for me it was just a stroke of luck and not anything special." Witland replied amused at Hadrian's curiosoty.

"Hadrian, come on we have got everything you need, it's time to head for the school. Follow me." Chanel says smirking

Hadrian silently starts following Chanel to the treeline for the forest where he starts to wonder where she is leading him. Chanel walks up to a tree with the mannaz rune carved into it, she reaches up to the nearest branch of the tree and pulls down revealing that it is a lever. The ground that they are standing on suddenly starts moving down like an elevator, looking up Hadrian sees another piece of ground move into place. Hadrian expecting it to somehow get lit up is surprised as it remains dark. About a minute later the pair descend into a room with an elevator in front of them. As soon as they stop Chanel walks of and motions for Hadrian to follow her. Chanel presses the button to summon the elevator and waits.

"Upper Lake School, what floor would you like?" A kind female voice asked through a speaker.

"Starport Palace." Chanel replied to the voice. After she spoke the doors to the elevator opened with a ding.

"Welcome back Miss. St. Clair and welcome Mr. Potter we are glad you chose Upper Lake School." The kind female voice said alerting Hadrian that even more secrecy and code words have been used.

"What's with-" Hadrian starts.

"Hold on we aren't finished yet." Chanel states.

"I'm at the beginning of time and part of past, present and future. I'm a part of history, but not here and now. In a moment you'll find me, if you know what I am. What am I?" The female voice asked yet again. Hadrian waited for Chanel to answer, especially when the answer is this obvious, Hadrian suddenly felt a nudge to his ribs and got the message from Chanel.

"The answer is the letter T" Hadrian answers with certainty.

Instead of an answer the doors opened once more with a ding. Chanel walks out and motions for Hadrian to follow her.

"So what is with all the security? Don't you think most of it is overkill? All Hogwarts has is a hidden entrance on a train station and then wards around the actual castle." Hadrian inquires.

"To be honest Hadrian I don't know, and the only ones able to answer are the Deputy Headmaster and the Headmaster. Good luck getting either of their attentions, the headmaster more than the deputy. My friends have told me that he rarely lives his office and that he has never taken an apprentice which all the professors do at some point." Chanel tells Hadrian honestly.

"Well, at least I can count on you being honest with me Chanel, I appreciate that especially after all the bullshit lies my parents told me over the years about my brother." Hadrian tells Chanel. "I can call you a friend, right?"

"Of course you can call me a friend Hadrian. And everybody inside the schools will be honest with you, sometimes brutally so." Chanel tells Hadrian with a smile. Hadrian has quickly become like a little brother to her even though they only spent a day together. The duo hop into Chanel's red Jeep Cherokee and begin driving towards the Academy.

After a few minutes of driving Chanel drives up to the giant steel gates where she cranked her window.

"Wolfvale Harbour." Chanel states intercom.

Not long after Chanel stated her answer the grand stainless steel gates opened to reveal a magnificent campus. In the center of the of the circular driveway was a building that was inspired by the castles of olde. Hadrian sees a middle aged man that seemed to be waiting for them.

"Well this is where we split up, Hadrian. Have fun, and inform me about your adventures when we see each other again." Chanel tells Hadrian with a touch of sorrow in her voice.

Hadrian being completely terrible in social situations missed the sorrow in her voice and just replied with a hearty: "Alright, see you later." Hadrian then elegantly exited the car and approached the man.

"Welcome to the Academy of Merlin Mr. Potter, I've got to admit some of us professors did not believe that you would choose to attend this academy. Hogwarts gets most, if not all, of the most talented witches and wizards in the U.K. Well anyway, I am Nicholas Flamel the alchemy professor and Deputy Headmaster. If you would follow me I will lead you to where to will be living for the next seven years, each student gets their own apartment in the castle. The Academy of Merlin is more like a university than a traditional school based on the fact that is a campus rather than just one big building." Nicholas led Hadrian into the castle and through the hallway to a grand staircase. "You will be living on the top floor which is also the fifth floor, if you don't want to take all these stairs then we hope you find a solution or create a solution on your own." Flamel continued up the stairs up to the fifth floor and began walking down a hallway to a door that said: "Harry Potter". "Each of the apartments is styled after the famous architecture of where each student is from, obviously yours would look the same as the rest of the building being like a castle. There are bedrooms and two full baths, a kitchen, dining room, potions/alchemy lab, lounge room, and a personal office. To be even more precise there is a master bedroom with ensuite and a guest room with the bathroom nearby, there is a laundry room in your apartment, a balcony overlooking the campus with an entrance off the foyer and another one connected to the master bedroom. Why don't you go inside and look for yourself." Nicholas finished gently nudging Hadrian into his apartment. "Oh and before I forget there is a feast for all the first years in the ballroom on the first floor."

"Wait Mr. Flamel what is with all of the security measures?" Hadrian asked turning around. By the time Hadrian turned around all he saw was Nicholas with a smirk and vanishing. "Great another test."

"I wouldn't say test, they just rather we find the answers to our queries ourselves." A voice to his right said. "You must be a first year, I am Miles Edison and I am in third year. A bunch of us just got back from either our internships, survival testing, or student mentoring. Why don't you join us?" Miles asked Hadrian kindly.

"Umm sure I guess." Hadrian replied unsurely

"Relax you'll be fine, we are all super chill on this floor. We have to be with how stressful classes can be." Miles said comfortingly knowing how nerve wracking arriving at the Academy for first time was. "Want a butterbeer? I find that drinking something helps calm me down."

"Yes please, Miles." Hadrian answered affirmatively already feeling more comfortable in his new home. Miles leads Hadrian into his apartment and into the lounge area and starts to introduce him to the others. "By the way, my name is Hadrian Potter."

"Well Hadrian from left to right is: Brock Wilson seventh year, Carter Crawford third year, Levi Richmond second year, Lucas De Claire sixth year, Bruno St. Claire seventh year, Jackson Forbes fifth year, Spence Lawson fourth year, and Oscar Blythe seventh year. Everybody this is Hadrian Potter first year." Miles announced

"So Hadrian two questions, are you named after the Hadrian the Emperor of Rome, and are you a legacy or destined." Oscar asked curiously.

"My family usually names their firstborn sons after monarchs, though the family history with lords is speckled in recent years. And I am a destined I guess." Hadrian replied "You know Bruno, Chanel was the one who brought me here."

"We can go over your family history later, and don't say anything that sounds like doubt or second guessing yourself. Always appear confident, the people love that. And my cousin Chanel brought you, I guess I would've but I was busy with my internship." Bruno answered Hadrian

"So do you have any questions about the Academy? Or anything really?" Lucas asked "We have quite a vast knowledge amongst ourselves if I may say so."

"Yeah, what are internships, what do I say to people when they ask where I go to school, and are you guys legacies or destined?" Hadrian asked quickly.

"Woah slow down, I will go in order of your questions. Internships are like apprenticeships except of working with an older magical user, someone would work for a company. Just tell them you go to an exclusive private school named Upper Lake School, that is the official cover for the Academy. And only you, Bruno, and I are destined." Brock answered. "The best way to go about it is assuming everyone you meet is a legacy except if they say otherwise. Also we do not disrespect any other students of the Academy no matter what, anyone else is fair game. I am aware that in Europe they call new bloods mudbloods, however here in the states we just call them plebians."

"One last question, eventually I will be meeting girls or having girlfriends where would we meet up since we are segregated?" Hadrian asked the group.

"Well there are two options there is a nightclub in an undisclosed location in between the two schools, or in each others apartments. The staff doesn't keep us separated we are just on two different campuses." Carter answered. "I see you're starting early like me, I can help you out just let me know."

"Well I think it is time for me, there is that first year feast I have to go to." Hadrian said a little bit later.

"Sure, Levi will help you make sure you are outfitted correctly and guide you down to the ballroom. Make sure you remember the path the castle may seem simple and straightforward but always keep in mind that there is magic at play." Oscar told him as he was leaving with Levi. "Did anyone else sense the magic the kid was emitting?" Oscar asked the rest of the group after Hadrian and Levi left.

"That kid is going to be something special, he didn't even notice that he was letting off magic. And Deputy Headmaster Flamel escorted Hadrian to his room in person!" Miles exclaimed.

"You're kidding, Deputy Headmaster Flamel almost never takes an interest in students, the only that has garnered his attention besides Albus Dumbledore." Lucas said in awe.

-Scene Break: Hadian and Levi-

"Okay Hadrian since this is your first year and you probably arrived early you will need to wear; plain black pants, plain black oxford style dress shoes, plain white dress shirt, a black suit jacket, and the black cloak." Levi told Hadrian. "You want to subtlety convey that you were successful and had time to change."

"This seems oddly specific and not entirely necessary." Hadrian stated calmly with an undertone of confusion.

"This is a powerplay, obviously." Levi answers quickly. "You want to show the professors that you are talented and reliable, and to the students you show them that you will be in charge of your year. I was and still am in second place to someone named Roman Sherridan, he's an extremely talented legacy who could also be a destined."

"Okay I understand. I want to force people to look at me without actually speaking." Hadrian says while motioning to leave.

"Wait, lose the suit jacket, it makes you look cocky instead of confident." After seeing Hadrian emerge from his bedroom in his outfit without the suit and still wearing the cloak Levi knows he's got a winner. "Perfect! Let's head down there, take your time you need to be fashionably late."

Levi leads Hadrian down the hallway to a blank stretch of wall next to the stairs. Hadrian notices the Norse rune raidho, he watches silently as Levi taps it with his wand while smirking in his direction.

"You don't want to get all sweaty from walking down all those stairs do you?" Levi asks rhetorically. "Every floor has there own version of a hidden passageway to the first floor, finding the markings on the first floor are the real pain though."

Soon the blank stretch of wall sides to the left and reveals a fancifully tiled platform. The pair step onto the platform and wait for it to start. The doors close and the shaft is bathed in darkness and only then did the platform start to lower.

"What is with this school and elevator shafts being dark?" Hadrian asked rhetorically.

Suddenly there was a ding and the platform stopped and the doors opened up to reveal the first floor. Levi excited first and Hadrian made sure to keep track of where he was, looking backwards for a second to memorise the rune's location and the rune itself. When Hadrian turned back around Levi was nowhere to be seen.

'Damn it I should've remembered that magic is always at play. Okay I need to get to the ballroom but magic is interfering with either the path or it is messing the sense of direction in my head. Deputy Headmaster Flamel never actually gave me a specific time to arrive at the feast and Levi said to arrive fashionably late but never told me how late I should arrive to be fashionably late. I should take some deep breaths like I am doing some light meditating.' Hadrian thought in the span of three seconds. Hadrian began some deep breath exercises with his eyes closed to look at the mess in front of him. When Hadrian opened his eyes and lightened his breathing the hallway in front of him made sense again and he could easily make it to the ballroom. The ballroom was off the elegant foyer right in front the main entrance, all someone had to do to get from the main entrance to the ballroom was walk forward until the person reached the doors for "the ballroom.

In the foyer Hadrian meets back up with Levi who tells him that he is perfectly fashionably late and he wishes him luck before he sets back off towards his apartment. Hadrian flicks some imaginary dust off of his shoulders and enters the ballroom with his shoulders squared and his head held high. Unfortunately for Hadrian, due to his small stature his cloak enveloped his body making him seem more dark and mysterious rather than calm and collected. Looking around the room quickly Hadrian sees that almost all of the students look roughed up, and dirty. Hadrian continues looking for Noah and finds him a moment sitting at a table with a few others, he also notices that there is a seat open and walks over to it.

"Is this seat taken?" Hadrian directs his question towards Noah but leaves it open for the other members to answer it.

"No go ahead and take it." Noah answers automatically, not yet looking at the new person. "So what's your- Hadrian how the hell are clothes in one piece?! Ours are all in tatters from traveling through the forest. Stupid test how was I supposed to remember about wand holsters."

"You guys had to go through the forest to get here? I got to get driven here in a car." Hadrian said somewhat sarcastically.

"Bastard. You've really styled yourself for this feast, unfortunately for you it doesn't really match your demeanor because your demeanor is dark and mysterious meanwhile everything else is confident and determined." Noah says. Hadrian thinks about what he looks like; he kept his hair only a few inches long and usually had a casual bedraggled look that was currently somehow side parted with a few hairs covering his right eye, his glasses were plain only meant for sight and not anything else, his emerald eyes were gleaming with confidence and power.

"Everyone's a critic." Hadrian stated good naturedly. "So it seems you all know each other well, are you going to introduce me Noah?"

"Oh right, we all know each other from before the Academy, our fathers do business with each other sometimes. Anyways from left around to the right; Chandler Ryder, Maximus Kirkland, James Spencer, Hamilton Hunton-Blather, and Nicholas Chamberlain." Noah listed off. "Everybody this is Hadrian Potter."

Chandler has long dirty blonde hair pulled into a ponytail, and blue eyes that seemed to sparkle with mirth for life. Maximus had hair the color of honey and it cut into the buzzcut, his gray eyes stared uninterested back at Hadrian. James had brown eyes that showed that he was a kind guy, and his light brown hair was a complete mess from his trek here. Hamilton Hunton-Blather had dark skin and his dark eyes just had a tired look to them. Nicholas had auburn hair kept in medium length and was slicked back, his green eyes made it seem that he was looking in a forest. Everyone was around four feet and seven inches, Hadrian was the smallest at four foot four meanwhile Hamilton was the tallest at four feet and eleven inches.

The group talked about what they believed the year would be like while they ate. They could choose from a variety of foods off a menu, Hadrian ordered a rib eye which came with a baked potato and asparagus.

"If I could have everyone's attention please." Deputy Headmaster Flamel announced. "This is a feast to commemorate your first day here, the only other feast you will attend is your graduation feast on your last day here. I would also like to congratulate the following students because they passed every test we gave them, would Lucas Greaves, Isaac Barrington, Logan Davenport, Hugh Pierce, and Hadrian Potter please stand up." Hadrian stood up confidently along with the others. "Now it is time for placements and titles; in last place is Clarence Blackburn who did not pass all the tests and gets Mikado, in fifth is Isaac Barrington with Tsar, in fourth is Hugh Pierce and receives King, in the first of the top three places is Logan Davenport who is Imperator, in second with the title of Caesar is Hadrian Potter, and last but certainly not least is Lucas Greaves who is Kaisar! Students, these six are the students who you absolutely beat, however none of them will make it easy for you! Now get to work, dismissed!"

Exiting the ballroom Hadrian retraces his steps from and finds himself at a section of blank wall. Despite not seeing a rune on the wall he taps the wall with his wand to see if it would still open, luckily for him it did. Hadrian patiently waited the minute it takes to get to his floor, when he exited the shaft he walked straight to his room. He wanted to check it out more thoroughly. Eventually he made it to his office where he sat on the chair behind the desk he thought about his friends. He would never admit it out loud but he cared for them greatly and he would miss them. He thought back to how he first met them.

-Flashback: July 31, 1984-

Last year on this date he received a gift from his godfather, whether it was spur of the moment, a birthday present, or because Charlus didn't like it as a gift. But to be honest Hadrian didn't really care, because Sirius got him a pet niffler which Hadrian would adore his new pet niffler which he named Gambit. Gambit was by far the laziest niffler anyone has ever heard of, it didn't even try to steal any gold. Hadrian quickly fell in love with Gambit, he took great care of her, talked to her sometimes too. Charlus also noticed how much Hadrian cared for the creature and grew jealous, Charlus was already so used to everybody loving and praising him and he wanted Hadrian to do the same. Maybe, or maybe Charlus just wanted to play with his older brother, Charlus still remembered when Hadrian used to play with him all the time.

The Potters were throwing another large birthday at Potter Manor for Charlus' fourth birthday, although mainly it was a meet up for all the important people. Conveniently for them, the Potters and their friends forgot it was also Hadrian's birthday. Charlus was with his group of friends, when he noticed that Hadrian was without his pet niffler it was almost time for him to receive his presents. Coming up with what he perceived was a brilliant plan he excused himself from his friends and anyone else that wanted to talk to him, Charlus quickly ran to Hadrian's bedroom where he knew Gambit would be. Opening the door and rushing inside he sees Gambit resting on the bid Hadrian made specifically for her. Charlus dashes forward and grabs her around the neck strangling the poor lazy niffler to death. After he is sure Gambit is dead he picks her up and heads off towards his parents' bedroom and grabs the shiniest jewelry he can and stuffs it in his pocket and heads back towards the party.

"Charlie, where did you disappear off to? It is time to open your presents." Lily said in a doting tone.

"Sorry Mummy, I got a feeling that something bad was going on. So I went off to investigate it, it led me to your bedroom where I found this niffler going through your jewelry. I confronted it and tried to get it to stop and leave but it wouldn't, we ended up fighting and I killed it by accident." Near the end of his story Charlus turned on the water works a little bit.

"Oh Charlie, where's the jewelry son?" James asked this time. Curious about his son's tale.

"Right here." Charlus stated sorrowfully pulling the jewelry out of his pocket. The attendees of the social event started gossiping about how brave and heroic Charlus is, and how hard this must be for him. Everyone was already falling for Charlus' lies, except for a small group of people.

Those people were: Bill and Charlie Weasley, the Tonks family, and Hestia Jones. Bill Weasley was already in Hogwarts and knew how evil some kids could be, and he told Charlie who trusted what Bill said. The Tonks family still remembered how the Black family behaved and this seemed like something a Black would do. And Hestia Jones had an amazing aptitude for detecting bullshit. Oh, and Hadrian of course. As soon as Charlus said that he found a niffler he knew it was his lazy niffler Gambit, and if there was any remaining doubt in his mind it disappeared when the niffler was shown and he saw the collar he made. The collar was simply a bit of string connected to two upper corners of a piece of cardboard that said Gambit.

Contrary to most kids that would shout out in outrage saying that their pet was innocent and never do what they were accused of. But Hadrian was not an average, no Hadrian balled his fists so hard that his palms bled and his eyes reflected his bottomless hatred for his family. Hadrian quietly left the room and journeyed to the library, he had some plans to make and when those plans were made he would begin learning whatever darker magic books the library had. He was going to make his brother pay for what he did. Back in the ballroom Andromeda told her daughter Nymphadora to go after him, because she could see that he would do something he would regret unless he had a friend to stop him. It was easy for Nymphadora to track him, he left a trail of blood behind.

"It was a dick move what Charlus pulled back there, I bet it was intended as some kind of sick prank." Nymphadora said startling Hadrian out of his thoughts

"Who are you?" Hadrian asked looking into her eyes. Nymphadora found Hadrian to be quite cute she realized and she blushed which turned her hair red. "Hmm you're hair rapidly changed color due to your emotions. In this case you are attracted to me, you are a metamorphmagus." Hadrian started looking back down at his planning sheet.

"Psh I'm not attracted to you." Nymphadora tried to lie. "And my name is Nymphadora Tonks, you should call me Tonks."

"Don't bother lying Nymphadora you are terrible at it." The only reason Hadrian was able to finish his sentence was because Tonks had to walk around the desk before she could clock him. "Ow! What was that for?"

"I told you not to call me Nymphadora!" Tonks replied heatedly.

"I guess Harry has just learned why everybody calls her Tonks." Bill says after all this unfold. Bill, Charlie, and Hestia followed Tonks out the party and into the library.

"Who are all of you? And what are you doing here?" Hadrian asks defensively

"Well I am William Weasley, you can call me Bill. The one to my right is my younger brother Charles Weasley, call him Charlie. And to my left is Hestia Jones, you can call her Hestia." Bill replied with an easy going smile.

"Well then, I am getting the impression that none of you will leave me alone. My name is Hadrian Potter, you can call me Hadrian." Hadrian said in response.

"You got that right Harry, we are all best buds now." Tonks said slinging an arm over his shoulder.

-Flashback Over-

Hadrian had a wistful smile on his face from remembering the first time he met his friends. Those were easier times, now he has seven years of grueling hard work ahead of him. Time to get some rest, classes begin tomorrow.

A.N: I threw in the first time Hadrian met his four best friends because some people requested it in the comments.

I love reading the comments you guys write, so don't be afraid to, especially if you have an idea for the story. I am even willing to throw fan created characters into the story, so far any of the non-canon characters are completely random and not based on anyone.

I guess I should start planning this out early, who should Harry end up with?

Nymphadora Tonks

Fleur Delacour

Hestia Jones

Supermodel OC

Alright fine I was mostly kidding with the supermodel oc, unless… If you have any other potential love interests comment.

I am still debating on how to show the extra information, do you guys think I should a create ? I will keep looking around and if I find something I will post it on my profile.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Harry Potter properties.
