"Logan," Ororo whispered as she entered the recreational room and closed the door. She took a moment to lean against the door and sigh in quiet relief. He was sitting on the sectional, the television flickering soundlessly in front of him. She had been awaiting his return since he carefully crawled out of their bed up in their shared loft, trying his best not to wake her from the agitated sleep she was in. That was over an hour ago and she grew impatient waiting for him. She could see the tiredness coupled with restlessness in his eyes and knew he was not paying attention to the hockey game on the screen.

"Hey darlin'," Logan replied quietly. "Ya should be sleepin'."

"I was waiting for you to come back," she said, crossing the room to sit next to him. His arm immediately went around her shoulders to cradle her closer to him.

"Sorry," he mumbled. "Just needed a few minutes ta myself."

Ororo nodded understandingly. The two-day mission they had come back from about six hours ago, was a grueling one for all involved, but none more so than him. He had gone into a beserker rage, laying waste to the lab that were experimenting on child mutants to create child soldiers. His beserker rages were the hardest for him to recover from, mentally, physically, and emotionally. She leaned her head on his shoulder, one of her arms going around his waist, in a show of comfort and support.

He rested his head on top her hers, drawing solace from her presence. They stayed that way for a while until he felt her body become more relaxed, signaling sleep was imminent. He grabbed the remote control and shut the television off. He asked her to stand for a minute, while he situated himself to lie on the sectional, with his head resting on one of the throw pillows. He then clutched her hand and gently tugged her to lie on top of him. She took a few seconds to get comfortable before melting into his solid bulk.

"Better?" He asked, running his fingers through her soft hair. He could feel sleep quickly pulling him under.

"Yes. Thank you, love," she replied around a yawn.

Their heartbeats synchronized as they succumbed to the slumber that avoided them earlier.

A couple of hours later, a few of the younger mutants anxious to play the new Xbox, exited the recreational room as fast as they entered once they saw Logan and Ororo wrapped in each other's arms, sound asleep.
