A/N: Hello again everyone! First things first, I never seen The Lion Guard, so Kiara will be Simba's only daughter and there won't be any Lion Guard characters. Also, I've started an account on Wattpad and posted stories a few days ago and no views. But a couple of hours of my story being up on this site, I got my first views, my first story follow, and my first review (thank you, yeetyeah091)! So, I think I will mainly post on here now. I will be busy this weekend, so I might not get a chapter out. Anyways, as always, enjoy!

"How much farther, guys?" I asked.

"Not too much farther. We're almost there," Kovu replied.

"I hope so. My feet are getting sore."

"Why don't you hop on my back? I can carry you."

I was speechless for a moment, but I did think it would be pretty cool. "Alright, thanks Kovu," was all I said, though.

He nodded and bent down low enough for me to hop on. I did so and we started walking again.

"So, what is your family like? Are they friendly?"

It was Kiara who spoke this time. "Yeah, it'll all be ok. We're going to try to get them to let you live with us since you have nowhere else to go."

"A-are you serious? That would be so cool! But will your family accept me, though?"

"Yes, of course. Again, I'm sure you'll be fine. We won't let anything happen to you. We promise."

I felt like a weight was lifted off of my chest. Ever since the accident with the tree, I've been having a flood of emotions all the time and I was never able to relax. But Kiara and Kovu were going to get her a new home, and they're going to protect her to the best of their ability.

About 5-10 minutes later, I caught a glimpse of a giant rock formation. Woah, this must be their home...

"Welcome to our home. This is Pride Rock. We'll walk you up there and we'll talk to Simba and Nala, our king and queen. I'm sure they'll be ok with it, given the tragic circumstances," Kovu said.

I just sighed and said "thank you guys."

Once we were up on top of Pride Rock, we went into a cave and there were two lions talking to each other. One was a male with brownish-gold fur, a cream underbelly, a red mane, and red eyes. The other was a cream-colored female with a lighter cream underbelly and teal eyes. This must be the king and queen.

"Dad?" Kiara said.

"Hey Kiara! Hey Kovu! Glad you guys made it home safe! How was your h-"

Simba trailed off as he glanced at his daughter and noticed me standing between Kovu and Kiara.

"Kiara, what is that creature next to you?" he asked her.

"This is a human. Her name is Katie. Her father was killed in an accident and she now has no family. Can we please take care of her? I don't want to leave her and let her starve to death!"

Nala spoke this time. "Kiara, how do you know this girl is friendly? How do you know she won't hurt anyone?"

"Well, she was scared of Kovu and I when we found her and we have been nothing but nice to her, so why should she want to hurt any of us?" Kiara countered.

"Alright, well why don't you let me talk to your father and we'll let you know. But for now, you can spend the night here with us Katie. Kiara and Kovu can find a spot for you. Do you want something to eat?"

Suddenly, I thought of something I never thought of before. If I did stay with them for the rest of her life, what would I eat? I had a culinary class in middle school and they mentioned that you can get food poisoning from eating raw meat. Lions don't cook their food, so would I have to find a different source of food? Or could I find a way to make a campfire and cook it that way?

Nala's voice interrupted my thoughts. "Uh, Katie?"

"Sorry. Uh, do you have any fruit trees around here?"

It was Simba that spoke this time. "There are a couple of trees with some things growing on them. I'm assuming those are what you're talking about. You can find them by the water hole."

"The water hole? What's so great about the water hole?" Nala said in a joking manner. They both laughed about it.

Nala seemed to notice Katie's confused expression. "Sorry, just remembering old times as cubs. Here, I'll take you over to it."

"Alright, thanks."

But on our way out, I suddenly felt a weight pin me down to the ground.

"Looks like I found my next meal!"
