Chapter 2

Upon the Destiny's Bounty, as sunset begins, Nya is standing upon the bow of the flying vessel, looking out and wondering why Jay is taking so long to return. Earlier she had asked him to go down to the hardware store in Ninjago City and pick up some nails and a few new wrenches they would need to build up a new vehicle they had drawn up a couple of weeks ago. It's never taken this long for him to go down to the hardware store and be back in under thirty minutes.

What could be taking him so long? Nya could only ask herself, It's never taken this long before. He's been gone for four hours. What could be keeping him from getting back?

Nya couldn't help but worry as she stood there, watching the lights dimming the sky, hoping to see Jay's airjitzu tornado place him upon the bounty.

She was so distracted with watching for her boyfriend, she didn't even hear Kai and Cole coming up to check on her, worried that something was wrong.

"Nya," Kai said, "Are you alright? Is something the matter?"

Nya sighed, turning around to stare at her brother and Cole. "Sorry, I'm worried about Jay. He went to the hardware store four hours ago and he still hasn't come back. I just don't know what's taking him so long."

Cole nodded. "Your right about that. He's just like a pizza delivery guy. Always there and back in thirty minutes or less. Which is funny why I would say that considering he used to be a pizza delivery guy."

"He only had the job for a month," Kai reminded him.

"I know that, but still." Cole decided to change the subject. "Anyway, I need to head out for my undercover mission. While I'm gone, maybe I could go and see what happened to Jay. I'm sure there's a logical explanation. Hopefully he's fine and got caught up in doing something else."

"I hope you're right," Nya said, "Jay is known as the type of guy who doesn't hesitate to help other people. I'm just going to hope that's why he's been gone for so long and not think of the worst possible case scenario."

"What could possibly-"

"Don't even get her started on that topic," Kai warned the earth ninja, "Once you ask that question, you're standing there two hours later listening to reason number four hundred ninety-nine."

"You don't have to worry about that, Kai," Nya said, "I'm not in the mood."

"Well, I best start heading out," Cole said, but before he could even get into airjitzu mode, a raven flew upon the bounty, but this creature transformed into a human girl. A woman with ebony hair with a purple highlight, wearing a purple blouse and dark blue jeans landed lightly on her feet, placing her sparkling violet eyes on Cole's dark brown ones.

"Carol, what are you doing here?" Cole asked. Not that I don't want her here considering that she's the best girl that's entered my life. If only I had the courage to actually tell her how I feel. We've spent the last four months hanging out as friends. I'm tired of being in the friend zone as Jay likes to call it.

Carol giggled. "Don't tell me you forgot that it's Friday night. It's The Battle of Crowns night. They're premiering part one of the two part season finale tonight. You told me I could come over so we could watch it together."

"That's premiering tonight on NBO? Aw, man, I completely forgot. Sorry, but Master Wu is sending me out on a mission tonight. I'm the only one who he thought was free tonight to do it. I'm not gonna be able to make it back tonight to watch it with you. Sorry to say you'll have to watch it by yourself."

Carol had that sad look on her face, but she was one to look on the bright side. "That's fine. I can record it on the DVR and we can watch it together tomorrow night. No big deal. Just promise me you won't read the spoilers online."

Cole chuckled. "I promise."

"You can stay over and watch it with me," Nya said, "I was planning to watch it with Jay tonight, but he hasn't come home yet. But I'm sure everything's fine. He's probably out helping someone."

"Sweet!" Carol squealed in delight, "I'll get some movie snacks ready!"

"Well, you girls have fun," Kai said, lowering down the anchor, "I've got a date with Skylor tonight. See you all later."

"I better start heading out, too," Cole said, "I'll be back later."

Cole and Kai went down anchor with the two of them going their own way. Cole went down to the Samurai X cave, where his new vehicle was waiting for him. A vehicle he likes to call the Earth Cycle.

Just by looking at it, it looked pretty much like an ordinary motorcycle. But through its interiors, it had all the advanced technology that makes it more than ordinary. Plus it was in Cole's signature color: dirt brown. He would have to make sure to thank Pixal and Zane for building it for him.

Hopping aboard, he made his way into the city into the location where his undercover mission took place. He was glad he dressed like a normal civilian in a black hoodie and black jeans. But to make sure he wasn't detected on the spot, he also wore a black baseball cap. Hopefully nobody would become suspicious of him acting like a worker pretending to work the night shift in the office when he was actually a ninja about to take down a secret operation.

As he carried some files, he made his way over to a certain door that led inside the exact room where the secret operation was taking place. He could hear the voices of the head of the group discussing the plan.

"Okay, so here's how this is gonna go," he heard the lead man say, "This here is the plan on how we'll steal the latest blueprints of Borg's greatest inventions. Remember, we're taking these things in order to take the profits for ourselves and take every penny. If there's anyone who deserves all that money, it's us."

This is it. The one thing Cole needed to stop. Nobody's taking Borg's blueprints and getting away with it. Cole was just about to enter the room when strange muffling sounds were heard inside a closed room across the hall.

Muffling sounds meant someone might be in trouble. Cole has always been taught to protect the people and get them to safety before fighting off battles. Wanting to make sure the people of the secret operation didn't trap an innocent civilian in order to keep the ninja off their case, the master of earth went over to the door across the hall and turned the doorknob to open it, surprised it was unlocked.

When he looked inside, his protective expression became mixed with shock.

Inside the room bound up in a chair with duct tape over his mouth was Jay. The master of lightning was squirming around with eyes as wide as saucers, a huge bruise on his right cheek.

Cole rushed inside right away to help his teammate. "Jay, are you alright? Who did this to you?" Why am I asking him that? Of course it's the bad guys running the secret operation to steal Borg's blueprints! This is all just a distraction!

Once Cole removed the duct tape from his friend's mouth, Jay didn't hesitate to start running words off his tongue. "Cole, you need to get out of here! It's a trap!"

"Was it the guys planning to steal Borg's blueprints?" Cole asked.

"No, it has nothing to do with your mission! You need to…" Jay gasped. "Cole, look out!"

Before Cole could even say or do anything, something collided with the back of his head, causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the floor. Behind him was Murtessa, holding a shovel in her hands.

Jay screamed. "Help! Somebody help us! We're in danger! We-" A cloth was pressed against his mouth by Ultra Violet, blocking his airways from getting oxygen. He struggled some as the crazy biker woman calmly shushed him.

"Shhh. Calm yourself, Jay. Nighty night."

Not being able to take the lack of oxygen, Jay passed out, slumping in his bounds.

Murtessa stared at Ultra Violet. "Did I do good?"

Ultra Violet nodded. "You certainly did. You kept your end of the deal, I keep mine. Jay's all yours."

Murtessa dropped the shovel beside the unconscious Cole and ran over to the unresponsive Jay, kissing the lightning ninja's cheeks. "Oh, yes! Ninja-Jay is all mine!" She continued placing slobbery kisses on Jay's cheeks.

Ultra Violet gave an evil chuckle as she went over to kneel next to Cole, placing her eyes filled with love upon his closed ones. Finally, she had her man.

And now that I have my man, it's time for the matrimonial ceremony where the real plan shall commence. Everything is coming up nicely. In an evil way.

OH, CRUD! COLE AND JAY ARE BOTH TAKEN! WHO WILL SAVE THEM NOW?
