Author's Note: Hey guys this is my first time trying out a story but I've had this idea in my head for awhile now. I'm going to try and give you updates a few times a week. I hope you enjoy my stab at the twilight world. I don't have a beta and I'm doing this for fun/stress relief so ignore any mistakes you may find.
Words in italic are thoughts.
I do not own twilight.
EPOV:
Alice was hiding something from me yet again. I hate when she does that, always translating songs into foreign languages or taking an inventory of her closets. It made my frustration peak after an already trying day and I felt the calming tendrils of Jasper's gift work to chill me out. It was a welcome distraction at this point, day number who knows how many of high school had started off with Jessica and Lauren accosting me both in their minds and in person to try and get me to the girls choice dance. They never failed to make me feel violated when in my presence, always undressing me and comparing what they thought my skills would be against Tyler and Mike.
Grosssss. The drunken memories nearly made me lose the mountain lion I had worked so hard to track down the night before. As if I would ever give myself to girls like that or any girl at all. My mate would be the only one I would bestow that honor upon. That was if I ever found her.
I was beginning to lose hope about ever finding my mate, thinking back on Esme's occasional worrying that I was too young when Carlisle had saved me from the Spanish influenza.
"Always so impatient Edward", Alice's thoughts surprised me. She never told me to be patient about my mate and was constantly stating that I should take a year off from "family life" and search for her. Now I definitely want to know what Alice is hiding. She giggled under her breath so the rest of my family wouldn't know we were having another one of our silent conversations at the lunch table. It always aggravated Rosalie and Emmet would roll his eyes and demand to know what we were talking about.
I hissed quietly when she let a vision slip through her translation of Lizzo's Water Me from English to French and caught the attention of the rest of my family.
"What's your problem golden boy, another girl jumping you in their mind?" Rosalie teased.
"No actually I was just wondering who the beautiful girl with the violet eyes Alice just had a vision of was and why she was standing in our living room".
"OOUUUU Edward thinks a girl is beautiful". Leave it to Emmett to pick up on the fact that I said a girl was beautiful and not that she had strange violet eyes and was mostly likely currently in our home.
"That's enough, she'll be there when we get home and that's all you guys need to know", Alice huffed and picked up her tray of untouched food to throw away just before the bell rang.
I sat there for a second while my siblings left to head to their respective classes. I couldn't get the imagine of that girl out of my mind. She was beautiful and her eyes were captivating, I'd never seen anything like them in my 100 years. Of course I knew that humans could have purple hued eyes but not like that, hers almost glowed like they were calling you in to her.
Mike Newton's thoughts broke through my trance like state, wondering why I was a sitting in an empty cafeteria instead of heading to biology like usual.
"What a freak", was the last I heard before I shut him out and made my was to class.
BPOV:
Carlisle looked at me stunned for a moment after I announced rather bluntly who I am. Esme immediately assumed that my visit was on official Volturi business and questioned why I was there and if her family was in trouble.
I looked at her face and saw the genuine concern there she has for her coven who really was like a family to her. I'd never been more sure of my decision to disobey Aro's orders in taking this family out. They had done nothing to violate the laws and Aro was obviously just jealous of the close knit and very gifted family. Maybe he'd be happier if his wife wasn't such a raging bitch. I'm not sure what he expected though taking her as his queen when she was most definitely not his mate.
As I was about to answer the sound of car coming up the driveway distracted me.
"If that's the rest of your family I'd rather just wait to start my story if that's alright with you. Saves me having to repeat something I've never told a living soul before". I smirked at Carlisle's reaction to that. It was easy to see he knew this was not a sanctioned visit and he looked eager to find out who/what I was and why I was in his house.
"As you wish", was the only reply I got from him.
I sensed five vampires in the car currently pulling into the garage but the smell was something that caught me off guard. Something that admittedly had not happened in a very long time.
I closed my eyes, taking in a full deep breath and feeling my heart let out a single beat when it recognized the scent that was in the air. Lightning, fresh rain and wet soil permeated my senses, reminding me so much of my mother I thought I'd leak my strange, light pink tinged tears.
Was I ready for this? After nearly two millennia of being alone you'd think I would be ready. I'd dreaded every mission, wondering if I'd be sent to kill my mate, my match, my soul. Mates are doubly important to me. Being the hybrid that I am two different sides of me crave a single soul and my body instinctively new that I was about to meet that soul.
When the door opened I turned opening my eyes to see a small pixie sized girl dance out of the garage clapping her hands followed by very serious looking scar ridden vampire behind her. Neither of which seemed to be my mate but another large male with short black hair trailed in behind them making my heart deflate when I realized it wasn't him either. A runway model worthy blonde was attached to his arm and gave me a sneer when she saw my initial excitement over the large vampire she was with and a roll of her golden eyes when she saw me deflate assuming it was to her reaction.
Finally after what felt like hours a tall, messy bronze haired vampire came into the room altering my world in a matter of seconds. I saw him take a deep breath and snap his head in my direction. He looked so confused and all I could utter was a single thing before my vision went dark.
"Le anima".
