CHAPTER ONE.
Alfea's school steps looked daunting to Malvolia as her car pulls up to the front. The young girl never was a fan of the school and she was happy going to it only jusy to visit her father or brother. Dread fills her stomach as the realization sinks it that this exact place is going to be her home for the next couple of years. While the school exuberates a beacon of safety for so many fairies and specialist, Malvolia can't help but feel like the school was a shackling form of torture for her. Walls filled with teachers that were explicit with their distaste for her, almost as if they knew something she didnt.
Malvolia knew she should be used to the constant burden of being who she is, however, it didn't make it any less exhausting. All the whispers and secret when people thought she wasn't paying attention. A sigh escapes Malvolia's mouth before she digs into her bag and pulls out a ziploc baggie. She opens it and gently takes out a chunk of brownie, discreetly throwing it into her mouth. The car stops in front of the school and her door opens before she could even swallow her brownie.
"Excited for your first day?" Silva sticks his head through the door and asks in a mock happy tone.
"Yes, excited as ever. Can't wait to be in a school full of people who don't like me and know I don't belong," Mal smiles sarcastically. "Where's brother dearest?"
"He's already inside, you know how he is," Silva informa her as he pulls her case from the trunk.
"Ever the brown noser? Yes, I'm fully aware," Mal mumbles, pulling her purse strap up her shoulder.
"I won't be able to take you to your suite, but you know the school enough so you should be fine, yeah?"
"First day of school and you're not going to walk me to my room like a doting father should?"
"You'll be fine," Silva comforta with a smile before he kisses his daughter on the head.
"Lets hope so," Mal replies with a forced smile.
"Try not to wreck too much havoc, okay?"
"I'll try my best," she promises before she grabs her suitcase and makes her way into Alfea's courtyard. She looks down at her phone as it notifies her of a text from Riven. Her attention too focused on her phone she fails to see a red-head girl in front of her.
"Oh," the red-head gasps as the two collide. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking."
Malvolia brushes it off. "It's fine, you just ruined my entrance but it's fine."
The red-head looks at her, a stunned expression on her face making Mal smirk.
"I'm messing with you," she laughs, making the other girl sigh in relief.
"I'm sorry," the girl smiles. "I'm-"
"Lost? New? Not from this world? All of the above perhaps?" Malvolia lists off.
"I was gonna say Bloom," the girl replies, Mal giving her a look of confusion. "It's my name."
"Oh, cute!" The brunette says, "I'm Malvolia but you can call me Mal."
"So is this your first year?" Bloom asks.
"Yes, not in this world though unlike you," Mal says rather abrasively.
"How did you know?" Bloom asks, her eyes shifting and her demeanor fidgetedy. The girl was clearly uncomfortable, in fact, she reaks of it.
"I'm in your head," Mal tells her bluntly.
"What?" Blooms eye widening in fear.
Mal shrugs, her eyes scanning the courtyard for anyone else she knows. "It's kind of my thing, I'm a fairy of synergy. Dreams, mental thoughts, all of that shit."
"Oh cool!"
"It can be," Mal brushes off. Her brother walking into her sight.
"You making friends? That's new," Sky smiles, his hand holding onto one of the straps of his bag.
Malvolia grins before jumping into her brothers arms. "I missed you!" She says squeezing him.
"I missed you too Lia," Sky squeezes back, before letting Mal pull away. "Who's this?" He asks, his eyes shifting to Bloom.
"Wouldn't you like to know," Mal says getting a flicker of Sky's thoughts.
"Fuck off Lia, is she a fairy?" Sky asks his sister, completely ignoring the red-head.
"She is a fairy," Bloom steps in. "Never thought I'd say that," she adds on under her breath.
Mal smirks. "Must be a fire fairy, she has the trademark spunk. She's a first worlder."
Sky smiles. "Oh I bet you're excited about that, she's gonna dethrone you from your queen of freaks position."
Mal punches him in the shoulder. "Shut up you twat."
"Do you two always talk about people right in front of them?" Bloom asks, looking at the two siblings.
"Better than doing it behind their backs, no?" Malvolia grins.
"Well if you need help," Sky begins, Malvolia rolling her eyes as he begins to point out the buildings. "Thats is the Specialist Hall and That's The Fairy Hall."
"Oh, the Specialist Hall! Obviously," Bloom jokes. "And I definitely know what a Specialist is!"
Sky nods. "Right. Sorry, I'd be happy to..."
"Mansplain it?" Bloom finishes.
Mal smiles. "You, I like you, I'm gonna keep you."
"Just because you can toy with people's heads doesn't mean they're actually your toys Via," Riven says as he comes from behind the two siblings and wraps his arms around both of their shoulders. "Quit perving on the first years, yeah mate?" He says, turning his attention towards Sky.
Sky turns to face his best friend. "Riv, just give me one second, yeah?"
Riven smirks. "Why? You gonna chase her?" He asks nodding his head to the girl who's speed walking towards the Fairy Hall.
"She walks like she's running away from something," Mal mindlessly comments.
"Nope," Sky tells Riven before the brunette tackles him in a hug.
Mal stands a foot away from the two and pouts. "Sky gets a hug and I'm just chopped liver, is that it?"
Riven turns around a grin on his face. "I saw you a few weeks ago."
Malvolia turns her nose upwards. "Doesn't mean you can't miss me," she says snarkily with her arms crosses over her chest.
Riven picks her up and twirls her. "Oh my sweet Via how the days we were apart were unbearable," he wails dramatically into her neck.
"Alright, get off her," Sky says pulling the two apart, completely oblivious to the limgering gaze the two brunettes gave each other.
"Walk me to my suite?" Mal asks her brother who quickly shakes his head.
"Can't I have to meet with Silva."
Mal pouts. "Riven?" She asks the boy who lit up a cigarette.
"I have nothing better to do," he grins before exhaling the smoke.
"Great!" Mal cheers as Riven puts his arm around her shoulder.
"Are we actually going to your suit?" Riven asks putting the bud into his mouth and inhaling.
Malvolia smirks. "I actually had something else in mind for us to do," she whisper, her eyes seductively looking him up and down.
Riven smirks at her. "Naughty, what would big brother say if he heard you."
Mal rolls her eyes. "If you want this to keep going, big brother wont know anything."
"My lips are sealed."
( CROWN ON THE GROUND. )
Malvolia walks into her suit, her brown hair thrown into a bun and her clothes ruffled. A satisfied smile painted on her lips as she straightens her jacket as a way to try to cover the marks Riven left her.
"I'd recognize that type of smile anywhere," an auburn hair-girl says walking towards Mal. "You just god railed, real good I assume. I'm Beatrix," she greets, her sweet smile a juxtaposition from the vulgarness that she spoke.
"I'm Malvolia," Mal greets back, ignoring her invasiveness.
"So did he make you cum?" Beatrix asks innocently as she turns around to sit onto her bed.
Mal smirks at her boldness. "I can't tell whether I'm going to love you or hate you.."
Beatrix looks her dead in the eye. "I have a feeling you will love me."
"Is that so?" Malvolia challenges.
"Am I interrupting something?" A tall girl with short pink hair asks. "I'm not empath fairy but the energy in this room is very sexual."
"And you are?" Beatrix asks from behind Mal, her tone full of bitchiness
"Hi," the girl says awkwardly. "I'm Tecna."
"I guess it doesn't take a genius to figure out you're a tech fairy," Mal says boredly.
"Oh I get it, you two are the queen bitches of the school. Where's the other one? Don't you usually come in threes?"
A knock on the suite door pulls the attention of all three girls. Tecna turns around to look at the blonde who gives her fake smile.
"Well, isn't this a cute suite full of social rejects?" Stella says, her nose turned upwards in a condescending way.
"Ever the pleasure the Stella," Malvolia greets sarcastically.
"I'm sure. Dowling wanted me to inform you that your father wants a chat," Stella tells the brunette hastily before strutting off.
"Dad?" Beatrix questions from behind Mal.
"Silva, he's my father, adopted but nonetheless my dad."
"Saul Silva," Beatrix asks, a tone in her voice Mal can't seem to place.
Malvolia raises her eyebrow. "You know him?"
Beatrix smiles in an almost smug i-know-more-than-you-do manner. "I've heard some things."
Malvoila looks at her in distrust. "Right well, I'll be off. Nobody touch my stuff!" She tells them as she walks out the door and towards
the specialist training grounds.
"You've summoned me?" Mal says coming from behind her father who is intensely observing the spar between her brother and her... something. Mal didnt know exactly what to refer Riven to as of lately, while they will forever be best friends she can't deny the fact that their relationship has taken a pivotal turn.
"Summoned? Is that what they call a father wanting to check on their daughter?" Silva teases.
Mal shrugs, her signature smirk sat on her painted red lips. "Well you would know how I was doing if you came with me to settle in."
"Well I was under the impression Riven helped you out just fine."
Mal rolls her eyes. "Having people give you updates on me again, are we? I thought we were past this."
Silva turns to look at his daughter. "I will never stop being concerned about you, Malvolia. It comes with the job."
The young brunette huffs. "Concerned about for me or for everyone else? I'm sick of being treated like I'm some ticking time bomb."
"You're not a ticking time bomb."
Malvolia looks him in the eyes. "If only I could ignore the thoughts in your head, perhaps then I could believe you."
Silva sighs. "How's your suite? You like your suitemates?"
Mal shrugs. "Some more than others," she says watching Sky beat Riven in the spar. The latter choosing to just lay down and accept his defeat.
"You got slow this summer," Mal hears her brother tell Riven.
"Correction, I got high this summer."
"Oh, was that before or during all that time spent with the mystery girl you ditched me for this summer," Sky teases. "Are you ever going to tell me who she was?"
"Trust me mate, you don't want to know," Riven smirks, his green eyes meeting Malvolia's. "Look, whatever big-brother speech you're about to give me..."
"There's no speech," Sky lies through his teeth.
"...I don't wanna hear it," Riven tells him firmly. "A more productive use of your time would be to distract your aggro father figure so I don't got expelled," Riven says putting a cigarette behind his ear and running off.
Malvolia catches his eye, his head nodding for her to follow. "Anyways father, lovely chat but I gotta go, you know important first year stuff and all."
Silva looks at her strangely. "What are you up to?"
Malvolia gives him an appalled looked. "Daddy dearest, however could you ever insinuate such a thing."
Silva sighs. "Mal please be on your best behavior, you don't want to draw any attention to youself."
"Of course, I'll be ever the princess and certaintly not the fuck up everybody expects me to be," she tells him through gritted teeth before storming off after Riven.
The brunette watches as Riven crosses the barrier. "You know its dangerous to be outside here?" Malvolia tells him, a smirk on her face.
Riven turns around. "Scared of the big bad?" He says with a smile. "Don't worry, I'll protect you," he tells her holding out a blunt.
Malvolia scoffs as she grabs the blunt from his hand. "Protect me? I just saw you get your ass kicked by Sky," she reminds him as she puts the blunt into her mouth.
"Yeah well no one can beat Prince Sky," he mutters bitterly.
"Careful," Malvolia exhales the smoke. "You might just sound jealous."
"Oh is that right?" Riven says snatching the blunt from Mal and putting it to his lips. He inhales deeply, stepping closer to the seductive girl in front of him. Mal had him under lock and key and he was fully aware that there was not a damn thing he could do about it. He wasn't even sure if he wanted too.
Mal nods as her head gravitates towards Riven. Her red lips opening up to inhale the smoke coming from his lips. She leans back as Riven smashes his lip against hers, his hands grabbing onto the back of her thighs and lifting her up against the tree. Her pushes his lower half onto her grinding himself against her as he kisses up her neck.
"Two times in one day Mal?" Riven pants as Malvolia's hands trail down his chest, her knees lowering down to the ground.
"What can I say? I'm insatiable," she smirks as she begins to unbutton his pants.
"Wait," Riven stops her, his head turning to look around the forest.
"What?" Malvolia says before reading his thoughts. "You don't think we're alone?"
The girl quickly stands up, Riven grabbing onto her arm. The two look around the tree, both their eyes falling onto a dead mangled body.
"Shit!" Riven says as he grabs a screaming Malvolia and attempts to calm her down.
Neither of the two notcing the third figure hiding behind a tree only feet away from them.
