Morgana woke up that night screaming. She sat up breathing heavily.. "... Arthur ..."
She shook violently, feeling cold. Trapped and frightened.
Remembering flashes of her nightmare but not all as was the case since Gaius upped her dose of whatever he put in her sleeping drought.
She huddled the blankets to her chest and as she did everytime she dreamt like this prayed it was nothing but a nightmare.
The next morning Arthur still hadnt returned and Merlin was already planning on leaving right there and then , cross with himself that he didnt just up and leave the second he realised Arthur had gone on patrol without him. Why did he do that? Merlin berated him mentally for the thousandth time.
After asking around if Arthur came back at night at all and finding out he hadnt he needed to try and find our exactly what area he was patrolling, falling that he would just have to search the usual routes and the border. Mabye Arthur went to check on the lower towns like Merlin knew he did when he thoght his father wouldn't notice.
Whilst he was going back to his chambers to get some rations he spotted a distressed looking Morgana going to Gaius rooms.
Merlin followed and heard her talk to him " I fear somthing terrible happened to Arthur. I saw him chained in a cave ..it was so cold Gaius . I..should I say anything?"
Gaius shook his head " it could be mearly your subconscious, playing out the fact you've been worried for him on his trip. And Uther will surely send out a search party if he isnt back today. Thogh it's still not uncommon for thses outings to take longer then planned "
Morgana shook her head "... Gaius it was so real. "
Merlin shook his head. Knwoing Morgan's dreams have been right before.
Gaius patted his shoulder " if your concerd you should just try and persuade Uther to send out a search party sooner "
Morgana straightened herself out now she had course of action to peruse " I will. Il go at once " she walked out looking past Merlin not bothering to greet him like she normally would "
Merlin went into the room , Giaus greeted him " .. you heard that?"
" Arthur's in trouble isnt he ?"
Giaus nodded " it would seem so "
Merlin shook his head " we cant keep lying to Morgana like this"
Giaus sighed " let's focus on one problem at a time "
Merlin didnt like the deflection but let it drop for know. Remembering even killgrarhas warnings about Morgana.
He breathed " I'll see the grate dragon has any ideas on how we could locate Arthur "
Giaus nodded " I think that's a good place to start."
Merlin went down to see Killgrha asked him about location spells.
" such a thing is not uncommon but you would need a seer , somthing that Arthur connects to wouldn't hurt to get a location "
Merlin asked ".. would Morgana be able to pick it up ?"
Killghrha spoke sternly " ..Merlin "
He shook his head " if Arthur is locked up in a cave somwhere Albion is alredy at stake ! If I dont do anything and Arthur dies no of it will matter anyway . Morgana alredy dreams shes getting stronger with them too regardless. If we can use this ability to save Arthur we should "
Killghrha huffed " if you chose to allow the witch to understand her power you could be taking the first step to her descent into darkness "
Merlin spoke " Maybe. But shes descending into despair now. Because of what she saw happend to Arthur. And I have to find him. By any means ...I cant sit and wait knwoing the solution to finding him could be right in front of me "
Killghrha raised his wings " it appears that your minds ve made up young Warlock. I do hope whatver course of action you take will lead to Albion " with that he flew off.
Merlin told Gaius of his conversation and they both agreed after much debate that it was worth a try. It was just getting Morgana to agree to it. Gaius main factor was giving Morgana the burden of knowledge that she had magic under Uthers rule being his word. But in this case the benefits seemed to outweigh the risks Morgana seemed to be getting there on her own.
Merlin walked to Morganas room and kcoked and the door
" who is it ?" She asked , venamatly
Merlin spoke " it's me. Merlin "
Her voice changed to be more gentle " come in Merlin "
He did she was at on her bed just looking out the window.
Merlin bowed " my lady "
She spoke " I'm sorry if I seemed rude earlier, just got a lot going on I'm my mind. Not that that's any excuse "
Merlin shook his head " it's fine. No harm done "
She spoke she seemed monotone " good of you to say so Merlin. I know I havent been myself lately "
He shook his head " I've toght nothing of it "
Morgana dis speck then " ..was there something you needed ?"
Merlin nodded " oh yeah I noticed you where pretty distressed. I eh overheard that your dreams where bothering you again "
She strighted up at that slightly on the defence
" yes. I just wanted to speak to Giaus about my droughts that's all"
Merlin suddenly had no idea how to approach this conversation.
It was Morgana that broke the silence " it was Arthur I dreamed about "
Merlin spoke " yhea I overheard "
Morgana spoke then vulnerable " ..I took a nap just now because I didnt sleep after that last night. It was the same dream again. But there was more "
Merlin raised his eyebrows " .. what did you see ?"
Morgana hesitated.
Merlin spoke ".. its alright. You can trust me Morgana. You know you can "
She hesitated " .. it was real , Merlin. I know it was. Arthur there was somome standing over him and chanting. I heard him it was mumbled but..it felt like he was talking to me. I heard a name "
Merlin asked her " what was the name Morgana?"
She swolloed " Emrys. I was going to go to Gaius but it was real. Like it was with Sofia.. I.. I'm scared Merlin. These aren't normal dreams "
Merlin nodded " I know "
Morgana swolloed " you..you think its .."
Merlin whsiperd to her " yhea I do "
She nearly screamed she shook. " I.. we need to find Arthur "
Again , not thinking of herslef first but of those she cared about.
Merlin nodded " I know we do "
She spoke ".. I have to go to Uther "
Merlin shook his head " no Morgana "
" if I dont Arthur could die. I couldn't live with myself if I let him die "
Merlin went on " we wont "
Morgana paled " what can we possibly do ? "
Merlin shook his head " youd be surprised. Morgana I believe your somthing called a seer. It means ..you could have the power to track Arthur dowm "
Morgana spoke "... how do you know of this ?" Merlin hesitated " ...I read a lot and I ..rember Will? He eh told me some stuff to do with magic " Her eyes widened " I forgot about Will." Merlin scarched his neck. Morgana spoke then " I cant chose what I see " Merlin hesitated " no but if you have an object connected to Arthur..you might be able to see a location. Or more of the area. And ...if you chose to do so Gaius is going to help you " " Gaius...he knows doesn't he ? That I am a seer " Merlin shook his head ".. i we didnt know for sure. " he added " you might still not be. And we didn't want to create unnecessary stress in case we where wrong " he told a half truth. She asked "... why tell me now ?" Merlin answered " we can find Arthur. And it could aslo be a way to find put once and for all if you do have a gift " Morgana asked " .. a gift ?" Merlin nodded " it can be " Morgana smiled " thank you for saying that Merlin " They both went down to Gaius who looked a little I'll Morgana stepped forward more like herself already " I want to help. I want to find Arthur " Gaius nodded " as you know my lady this could still be the work of the oderanery mind " Morgana nodded " but if it isn't , this could be happening to Arthur. " Gaius nodded gravelly. Morgana swolloed Gaius pulled out a tunic of Arthur's that Merlin brought down earlier. She sighed and asked " what do I do ?" Gaius spoke " hold the fabric and try and clear your mind , focus your intention on picking up clues where Arthur's location is " She picked up the cloth and closed her eays she swolloed " I see woods. Grass. People..people fighting " she dropped the cloth and screamed. Merlin touched her shoulder
" Morgana ! What happened?" Morgana spoke " I dont know. I just saw fire and then I panicked I.. " Gaius spoke " its alright morgana ."
Morgana shook her head " it ..I didnt see any trial or anything familiar I'm sorry " Merlin spoke " its alright. You did the best you could " She spoke " it was past the border of camalot near the outlands but I..I'm not sure of even that but there was fighting ..magic users and a man in the clock was there .. he had a staff with a druid symbol "
Merlin nodded " it's a start morgana thank you " She swolloed " what do we do with that information?" Merlin spoke "... I'll find him morgana. I'll bring him home " Morgana shouted " what can you possibly do ? Of anything we should set out together. "
Merlin spoke gently seeing Gaius leave the room shaking his head. Morgana looked at him Merlin spoke " look " He whsiperd lightly " blossoma " Morgana squeaked " I.. you .." Merlin spoke " I stopped Sofia, I killed Nimwaye. And much more.i should have told you earlier...but I was scared. For you and what it would mean for Uthers ward to have magic " another half truth. She swolloed " Bring him home Merlin " He nodded " I will " His next step was to find the Druids that kept tabs on the more radical groups of activists get a more accurate location. He said his goodbyes and set out to find Isder.
