Kaito Kuroba had a lot of secrets.
There is one very particular secret that only a few other people knew.
Not even his best friend, Aoko Nakamori, knew.
Kaito was the Kaitou Kid.
An international thief that taunted the police and stole jewels from the tightest security throughout the world with only the use of magic tricks.
The Kaitou Kid was actually an alias that he had adopted from his father and the first Kaitou Kid.
Toichi Kuroba.
He had faked his death due to getting in the way of a criminal organization that was known as The Black Organization.
Them and their hidden puppet masters.
The Committee of 300.
Now, Kaito would finish what his father had started all those 8 years ago which was to foil their nefarious plans for the world at large.
He hadn't gotten very far with it yet if he were to be completely honest even with allies such as his best friend/rival, Shinichi Kudo/Conan Edogawa, his girlfriend, Akako Koizumi, and his alien mentor and family friend, The Doctor, due to the scale that The Committee of 300 operates throughout The Known and Unknown Multiverse and was only fighting at least one of its front organizations.
He had to admit to himself that he was having fun being Kid ever since he donned the costume during that one night at the heist of The Eye of The Moon which was his very first heist but he didn't really enjoy stealing gems in the first place partly because he wanted to find Pandora before The Black Organization does and partly because he just enjoyed the thrill of the chase with the police and the detectives while showing off to the crowds.
That's what magicians did; they entertained.
Kaito was always pulling pranks on Aoko for fun, too. She responded with either a mop, broom, or anything else that she could find. The worst case scenario was responding with a fish but with a little help from The Doctor, he had managed to get over his ichthyophobia little by little. At this point in his life, Kaito had never responded to the fish while in full costume, but like they say, trends are meant to be broken. Half of the time anyway. When the trend was broken, that was the first hint and omnious sign that something was very wrong.
That was why Aoko knew something was very wrong on that certain day, the first day of one of the most exhausting ordeals in the first year of the resurrected Kaitou Kid.
"What are you doing, Kaito?" asked Aoko one day. Kaito had sat down at his desk and was doing something in his desk.
"I'm just preparing," he said vaguely, his hands working feverishly. Aoko leaned over to see what he was doing, but Kaito shifted his chair and blocked her view.
"Geez, if you won't tell me, then I don't care!" said Aoko huffily, silently preparing for whatever prank he was about to pull on her.
Then all of a sudden, there was a bang and a puff of smoke. Kaito looked up, his face blackened from whatever he'd been working on having backfired and gone up in smoke. It was for this reason that Aoko giggled as she finds her best friend's disheveled face completely hilarious in her opinon.
"What?" asked Kaito angrily, using his handkerchief to clean his face.
"Not even the great Kaito is perfect at magic!" Aoko teased considerably.
"What was that?" asked Kaito, firing up at once. He stood up and towered over her. "Well, you're so anti-Kid that you won't help your dad catch him! You're as lame as he is!"
"What?" asked Aoko dangerously, all traces of laughter gone from her face. "You think it's my fault Kid keeps getting away?"
"What, are you deaf or something?" Kaito grinned, magically cleaning the handkerchief and putting it away. Nearby, Akako looked on in amusement at her boyfriend's antics.
"I give it 5.004 seconds." Hakuba thought to himself, putting his pocket watch away. "Maybe it was worth it to come back to Japan for a week after all."
Sure enough, that was as long as it took for Aoko to fly into a rage, chasing Kaito around first with a chair, a desk, a mop, some karate, Kaito's own card gun, and a variety of other objects.
"Kuroba Kaito, Nakamori Aoko, we're still in class," said the teacher, Erika Konno, in exasperation.
When school let out that day, Aoko walked off in a huff, a sticker of a fish attached to her uniform to keep Kaito away. Akako, seeing her chance, called Kaito silently as she dragged him to the shoe lockers.
"Kuroba-kun, you'll probably need help tonight. My friend Lucifer says that there will be rain tonight, so I suggest leaving the hang glider at home."
"What do you mean by that?" asked Kaito in a curious and serious tone since he knew that whenever his girlfriend had a warning to deliver from the devil himself (in this universe anyway), it was usually very grave and serious.
"You still don't understand? Then let me spell it out for you. Cancel the heist tonight. Lucifer also showed me one other thing. You were standing atop the museum in civilian clothes, with the Inspector holding your costume. You can figure out the rest, can't you?"
"There's a Kid heist tonight?!" Kaito reacted in shock while Akako rolled her eyes dramatically. Then she stole Kaito's phone out of his pocket, fiddled with the buttons, and showed him a news article. Its title read 'Kaitou Kid vows to steal the Prince's Diamond!' Kaito, stunned, took the phone and began reading the article, his eyes growing wider with each sentence.
"This is all wrong," said Kaito seriously in a grave tone. Akako, satisfied with his response, left him alone and walked away.
"Kid sent his manifesto to the Tokyo Museum of Geologic History early this morning voicing his intent to steal the Prince's Diamond, a diamond from Europe that is rumored to have belonged to a Prince of England. Inspector Nakamori of the Police Department would not release the official note, but he confirmed that it was genuine. Kid fans wait in high anticipation of the heist."
"Well, it's a good thing I didn't have anything better to do." Kaito thought to himself, putting the phone away. He had an imposter to unmask. But first, he would have to call his rival first as a form of a heads-up.
Somewhere in the district of Beika, in the house of one Professor Hiroshi Agasa, there were three children who were sitting comfortably on the sofa.
One of them was a boy who has dark brown hair which mostly hangs downwards just above his blue eyes, but there are also a few strands that stick up at the front and back of his head. His outfit consists of a blue blazer with a single button and a pair of shorts, red trainers and white socks. He also wears a red bowtie, his father's old glasses, and red shoes which were all modified to aid him in his cases as a detective.
This is Conan Edogawa, formerly Shinichi Kudo.
He was sitting in the center position of the sofa along with two girls, one girl to his left side and one girl to his right side.
The girl to his right side has naturally wavy auburn hair, who wore a lab coat, a pink shirt, brown shorts, pink socks, and brown shoes.
This is Ai Haibara, formerly Shiho Miyano.

The Girlfriend of Conan Edogawa, formerly Shinichi Kudo.
The girl to his left side has blue eyes, dark brown hair and fair light skin who wore a white shirt, red strap vest, gray shorts, white socks, and brown shoes.

The Sister of Ai Haibara, formerly Shiho Miyano.
The Sister (Secret Identity) of Conan Edogawa, formerly Shinichi Kudo.
In The Original Timeline, she did not survive her assigned mission which was a bank heist that she attempted to accomplish in order to free her sister as part of the deal that she had made with The Black Organization and was unfortunately shot by Gin, the same member of The Black Organization who shrunked Conan by giving him the drug known as APTX 4869, and left for dead at the warehouse of one of the docks in The Port of Tokyo.
However, due to A Certain Number of Circumstances that was exploited by A Certain Time Lord (The Doctor) in accordance with A Certain Plan ("Keikaku"), she manages to survive and cheat death but ended up getting shrunk in the process due to said Certain Plan ("Keikaku") in order to hide her identity for her own safety and is now living with Conan in The Mouri Detective Agency under a false identity as his sister.
She is now attending Teitan Elementary School and has now become a part of The Detective Boys (少年探偵団 ,Shōnen Tantei-dan) alongside Conan and her sister, Haibara.
They were all watching the announcement of the latest heist of Kaito Kid that was being broadcasted on live television with interest and intrigue.
As the three shrunken adults were watching the news, Conan was sporting a serious and grave expression on his face throughout the entire news announcement that was shown on television.
"Something's definitely not right about this."
He thought gravely as he remembers the copy of the note that he had gotten from his IDST (Inter-Dimensional Space-Time) Cellphone.
In the pale of moonlight, the Diamond of the Prince will be swiped.
Kaitou KID
It didn't take long before his serious and grave expression was noticed by both Haibara and Hanako, who begin to have concerned expressions on their faces.
"Are you alright, Kudo-kun." Haibara asked in a concerned tone.
"That's right, Onii-chan. Are you alright?" Hanako also asked in a concerned tone as she holds his left shoulder softly with her right hand.
Conan was shaken out of his thoughts as he looks towards the both of them, noticing their worried expressions.
He shakes his head in the negative as he says in a serious tone. "No, there's just something that feels off about this heist, it's just far too deliberate and far too obvious. Even the official note that was written seems a little too suspicious considering the perfect timing of this heist." Conan said in a straight no-nonsense tone.
"Are you sure?" Hanako asked in a curious, tilted, and concerned expression.
"Positive." Conan said with a nod towards Hanako as he knows all too well how his old best friend/rival tends to operate.
It was one of the reasons why he of all people was his best friend's/rival's most formidable opponent in the heists.
It was the game that they had played since two years ago in order to draw out The Black Organization, one of the front organizations of The Committee of 300, from the shadows of the world at large.
It was called The Chase of The Game.

While he was trying to figure out in his deep thoughts on what was actually wrong about this deliberate and suspicious heist, Conan's IDST (Inter-Dimensional Space-Time) Cellphone started ringing as he then begins to take it out of his bigger on the inside pocket and looks at the contact number that was displayed on the screen.
Kaito Kuroba.
"Kaito?!"
Conan begins to answer the call immediately as he said in a matter of fact tone while putting on speaker mode so that the girls could listen in on the conversation.
"This wasn't your doing, was it."
"No, it isn't."
"I knew it." Conan thought gravely.
"Any idea on who could be responsible."
"No, I don't. Which is why I decided to call you first as a heads up on this surprising situation since we need to figure out on how we can best handle this situation properly."
Conan begins to have a thoughtful face for a moment as he raises his thumb towards his chin, then after a few seconds, suddenly his expressions denotes someone who has thought of a plan in the works.
"Kaito, I think I have an idea."
And so, the two best friends/rivals discuss their plans for the upcoming heist that would be held tonight as they have the intention of drawing out this imposter from the shadows while the girls listen in on the plan.

Magic Kaito 1412 Kaito Kid - 17 OST (Magical Scouting)
Later that night, Kaito arrived at the museum as scheduled, only to find that the streets were packed with Kid fans clamoring to get in.
He knew that he had to sneak in past the throng, but he couldn't risk revealing himself as Kid. Just like always, however, he had a plan. He dove into an alleyway for a quick change.
A minute later, a fake Akako Koizumi had emerged, dressed in an Ekoda High girls uniform. He honestly hoped that his girlfriend would forgive him for using her as a disguise due to the gravity of this situation.
Akako/Kid forced his way into the crowd, moving slowly towards the entrance. He caused a great pandemonium by performing as perfect an imitation of Akako as he could, making the jaws drop on more than a few guys and also making it easier for him to cut ahead.
When Kid got inside, he found that everybody was crowded around the doorways leading into the diamond exhibit room. The room itself was lined with cops, including four around the display case.
A quick peek inside showed that the usual suspects were there.
Nakamori was pacing around anxiously, barking orders and checking his watch. Conan, Haibara, Hanako, Ran, and Kogoro were also inside, along with Sonoko, although her uncle Jirokichi was nowhere to be seen. Standing alongside Nakamori were Aoko and Hakuba. Aoko was still in her school uniform, but had disposed of the fish sticker.
"Nakamori-san!" Kid cried loudly, getting Aoko's attention.
"Akako-chan! What are you doing here?" she asked, approaching the divider between the crowd and the empty room.
"I was looking for Kuroba-kun, but I can't find him anywhere. I guess he's not in there with you, either."
"I don't know where he is. I don't normally come to these things, but since Hakuba-kun was back, he invited me. Dad practically invited him in. Plus, I got to meet that little boy and his family! His intelligence is simply amazing; it's no wonder he's come the closest to capturing Kid!"
"Do you mind if I come in, Nakamori-san?" asked Kid suddenly.
"How do I know you're not Kid in disguise?" she asked, leaning forward and making to grab Kid's face with her hands.
Kid took a step back and keeping in character, he said, "Nakamori-san, I would prefer if you did not pinch my face. I have to keep my looks up, after all."
"Fine," she conceded, putting her hands down. "Tell me something only the real Akako-chan would know."
"Your fight with Kuroba-kun earlier today ended with a burst of confetti and you wore a sticker of a fish to keep him away the rest of the day. Personally, I'd enjoy it if he'd pay that sort of attention to me."
"Come in," said Aoko, ignoring the last part. After explaining to the cops, Kid lifted up the rope barrier and passed through. Joining Hakuba, he was startled by Hakuba suddenly turning away with a pink face.
"See something you like, Hakuba-kun?" Kid asked sweetly, fully enjoying the look of panic on Hakuba's face.
'Just play it cool,' Hakuba thought to himself. 'Just because she's out of your league doesn't mean you have to act like a fool.' "Don't be silly," said Hakuba, walking swiftly away.
"Oh ho ho ho!" Kid laughed, imitating perfectly how Akako laughed. Getting back at Hakuba was almost totally worth disguising as Akako.
"Excuse me, neechan?" came a small voice suddenly. Kid felt a tug on his/her skirt. He knew that voice from anywhere. He smirked as he knew that now was the time for the plan to commence.
"What is it, little boy?" he asked sweetly, turning around and bending her knees so she was at eye level with Conan. Kid knew full well not to be fooled by the 'little kid face' Conan was showing him.
"I'm Edogawa Conan," said Conan, holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you."
"Is that any way to greet a lady?" Kid asked, taking advantage of Akako's vain personality to get some revenge on his rival as well for all the times when he almost managed to catch him. Conan looked at her oddly with a raised eyebrow to his right as if he were saying,'What are you doing', and Kid wondered if he'd gone a little too far on his joke.

Magic Kaito 1412 Kaito Kid - 22 OST (You'll see the KID)
Then Conan's attention was distracted by a puff of white smoke from behind Kid. Kid looked around and saw something that was impossible. Almost. Considering that his mentor and family friend was an alien (The Doctor). Kaitou Kid crouched atop the glass display case, holding a Sonoko mask in one hand. The remains of a Teitan High uniform lay on the floor.
"Kid!" roared Nakamori. He and the guards surrounding the case ran at Fake Kid, but Fake Kid grinned before tossing the Sonoko mask away. Then the lights went out. "Get Kid!" roared Nakamori again, and there were sounds of a confused mob attempting to secure the thief. In the midst, the distinctive sound of smashing glass was heard. "Don't let him get away!" said Nakamori. There was more panicked scrambling before the lights came back on.
Cops had come from all over the room and lay all over the case. Glass fragments were scattered all over the place. Conan and Hakuba, however, were looking up at the balcony lining the room. Fake Kid stood there, looking down at the floor. "Thank you for your gracious performance! Now, so long my friends!" He then dropped another smoke bomb. Shattering glass was heard and when the smoke cleared, Kid was gone, using his hang glider to go out through the window.
"All according to plan." Conan thought as he made his signature smirk.
Kid remembered the real Akako's advice before this heist and was grinning to himself/herself as he ran out of the room to give chase to the imposter.
It was taking longer than Kid would've liked to get outside, so he went to the bathroom and climbed out a window. It was pouring rain outside, and Kid knew the hang glider wouldn't stay up for long. "
"Since I'm in this disguise, how about I go crazy?" he thought to himself, grinning like he would as his civilian identity.
Luckily, he had anticipated such an event and had brought a backup plan.
From its hiding place under the bushes, he pulled out his tool: a flying broomstick, a Christmas gift from The Doctor that was given to him by Santa Claus as a form of gratitude for saving Christmas once again for the nth time, perfect for an Akako pursuit.
He smiled wryly before changing into a pair of pants, mounting the broom and turning on the small rocket engine. The broom roared off into the sky.
Kid, although soaked to the skin, kept his eyes peeled for a potential Kid landing site. When he saw it, he angled the broom down and landed with a thud in a parking lot. He went inside a nearby parking garage and found his target.
Fake Kid was sitting on the hood of a car, slowly examining the jewel. He seemed to have no concern for the police sirens echoing around them. "Who are you?" asked Kid, stepping from behind a concrete pillar and approaching Fake Kid.
"I am the Kaitou Kid," said Fake Kid, shrugging. "You should know that better than anyone, Akako-chan."
"You aren't the real Kid," said Kid, grimacing through the rain that dripped from his wig.
"My true identity is Kuroba Kaito. I should think that makes me the real Kid. After all, I'm the best magician in the world. I turned you back to the side of light, didn't I?"
Now, Kaito couldn't do real magic, unlike the real Akako. At this point, though, he was starting to hope that he could. "Refresh my memory," he said at last, taking another step forward.
Fake Kid smirked, before saying, "Fine. That time at the Tokyo Sky Tree. You fell in love with me that night. I took you home with me, and the next morning you had lost all your magic powers from crying. As I recall, Lucifer was not pleased that one of his servants had turned back to good. But that's OK. In this world, goodness is in a small minority."
"You're right about that," said a new voice from behind Kaito.
Both Kid and Fake Kid looked at the source and saw the real Akako, floating in midair on a broom.
She conjured a ball of fire and threw it at Fake Kid, who dodged, cursing.
Kid looked towards Akako with a sweat dropped and slightly fearful expression along with a slight embarrassed laughter because he of all people should know how Akako doesn't like it when he decides to disguise as her of all people.
Akako landed next to Kid as she smirked slightly at her contrite and embarrassed boyfriend.
"I'll forgive the disguise Kuroba-kun, for now. Since I think we should focus on this situation first and I think I have a clue as to who this person truly is."
She tossed a ball of red ice at Fake Kid, but he dodged, hitting his head on a car.
When he stood up, he smirked.
"I see everything now. My memories have returned."
Then he performed a dropped a smoke bomb and disappeared.

"My lady, you have some explaining to do." said Kid as he looks towards Akako, while taking up his rocket broom. "Start talking."
"I second that," Conan said as he, Haibara, and Hanako walked right towards them as they both looked at them.
"Alright," Akako nodded in assent. "I'll explain what I can, Tantei-san. But not here out in public."
Dark Kaito was confused. The last thing he remembered before all of this had happened was going over to his mistress's house, a former witch and classmate named Akako. Dark Kaito had stolen her heart and her powers months before, so he was surprised to see magic trails swirling around the house. He liked to dispose of threats early, so he had barged right in the front door, where a curtain of red had washed over him.
When he had exited, he had felt drunk with newfound energy, a sort of positive euphoria. He quickly left the house and delivered a heist note to Inspector Nakamori by email. That night he had performed the heist by disguising as his old flame Sonoko before stealing the jewel and making a perfect escape.
That's when everything went wrong. He had made his way by hang glider to a nearby parking garage, where he was planning on fencing the stolen jewel online via his laptop. However, none of the normal websites he usually used for stolen jewels and artwork existed. Then Akako had barged in on a rocket-powered broom. At the time, he had thought it had a rocket because she couldn't control it with magic. Then another Akako had barged in, this time flying on a broom with no visible engine, and thrown a fireball at him. Then the first Akako had switched to using a man's voice, a voice he'd recognized because he heard it every time he spoke. After failing to comprehend the situation, he pretended to have amnesia and fled.
Now he was pacing the floor of his hotel room, which he'd rented in disguise as a rich fat woman. He had done research on himself to try and figure out what was going on. He had discovered something shocking. According to the police files, Kaitou Kid never failed to return what he stole. He never sold them, killed their owners, or done anything else Dark Kaito had ever done. It was like he was a complete opposite of himself, except that it was exactly the same person. Kaito Kuroba.
The most horrifying thing he had discovered was that all his old enemies were still around. Hakuba he'd killed by using his Holmes coat to strangle. He'd been hung from the very top of Tokyo Tower with a Kid symbol painted across his face. Conan Edogawa had been a whole other matter. After letting his guard down around the kid and barely dodging a soccer ball to the face, he had thrown the kid into the Selizabeth's freezer, and he'd dumped the ice cube overboard during his escape. The kid's corpse was still at the bottom of the river for all he knew, he'd never cared enough to check. Nakamori he couldn't ever get ahold of. Maybe it was due to the fact that he was never alone, or maybe because he always shot at him whenever he came in sight.
"Just what is going on?" he thought to himself. "I'm a phantom thief assassin, not a stage magician!" He put his head in his hands and thought about it. Then he realized that there was only one explanation that made sense. "That magic must've transported me to another universe, one where the world in general is much more benevolent, including me, Hakuba, Nakamori, and even Akako. Which means…" he grinned to himself. "I can do anything I want and this universe's Kid will take all the blame! Besides, the people here are more trusting and a LOT more gullible!" Feeling invincible, he began laughing maniacally, full of a killer's euphoria.
"You've got to be kidding me," said Kaito and Conan at the same time.
"I hate it even more than you two do," said Akako. She wouldn't look at them. "I was so stupid to not see this before!"
Kaito, Akako, Conan, Haibara, and Hanako had relocated to the Ekoda High School Gymnasium, which was out of the elements and away from the police. Kaito had changed back into his full Kaitou Kid suit, making sure to not let anyone catch sight of his face.
"Huh, another version of you, honestly I'm not really surprised all things considered." Conan mused to himself while shaking his head as he knew that in the wider multiverse, anything's possible, since his adventures and misadventures in The TARDIS along with his best friends/fellow companions (Touma Kamijou, Kyon, Sota Mizushino, Lelouch Lamperouge) had taught him that much.
"So you're saying that the other Kid was me? But where did he come from exactly?" Kaito, unhooking his cape before taking up a basketball and shooting some hoops.
"You really are ignorant, aren't you, my love?" Akako said haughtily. "That was you, Kuroba-kun, and I know where he came from."
And so, Akako began her explanation.
"You four aren't witches, so I guess I'll have to explain it to you in scientific terms, you see, there is another…world, so to speak, made primarily of antimatter."
"Anti-matter?" asked Conan with a raise eyebrow. "What does that have to do with this?"
"Yes, well, no, well, oh it's hard to explain!" she stamped her foot impatiently. "Basically, antimatter particles have reverse charge of matter particles on an atomic level. That is protons have a negative charge and electrons have a positive charge."
"OK, so?" asked Kaito. "I thought that this was a magical explanation. I mean, you are a self-proclaimed witch."
"Self-proclaimed?" asked Akako, firing up at once. "I'll have you know, Kuroba Kaito, that I can fly out of here right now!"
"So can I," said Kaito, indicating his rocket broom. Akako had to admit it looked remarkably similar to her own, although the miniature rocket engine made it a lot heavier.
"Fine, I'll use magic terminology," said Akako while sighing in exasperation. "There has been a disturbance in the very base of magic. A being from an evil place completely unlike our own has made his home here. From what I saw tonight, I'd say it was a demon that has your outer form and stole your memories to replace you.
"What are you trying to say exactly?" Kaito said seriously his eyes begin to narrow in concern towards Akako while holding the ball that was in his hand.
"Don't you get it, my love?" said Akako in a concerned and serious tone, "The demon is you from another dimension. This dimension is an evil place where negative energy pervades through all living things. Since he is you, Kuroba-kun, from a gloomy dimension such as that, then we don't know what he's capable of. All we do know is that he didn't come willingly."
Naturally, everyone was silent at this point for a few minutes as they begin to think of the implications and explications of this dimension/universe while Haibara spoke with a concerned tone towards her best friend.
"There's something that doesn't seem to add up though, how exactly did he ended up here in our universe, and more importantly, how do you know so much about him?"
Akako looked at her with a hesitant look as she was silent for a few seconds while Haibara goes towards her as she takes her by the hand and says.
"It's your fault, isn't it."
Akako's eyes softened as she finally says with a heavy sigh and resignation, "Yes, it was. I was working silently on an unrelated project when I noticed a signal of distress from another realm. I recognized it as another witch's pain, so I reached out to her. That's when he appeared. I knew instantly something was wrong; he ran out cackling maniacally, but I didn't think anything of it until this heist happened."
"Don't feel guilty, Akako-san," Haibara comforted her.
"That's right. You didn't mean for it to happen. Now we've all got to work together on how to deal with him from now on so you don't have to worry for you are not alone." Hanako comforted her as well.
Akako had a hidden smile that was shown on her face as she said, "Thank you, Shiho-san. Akemi-san."
Kaito looked at his girlfriend with concern and silence as she, Haibara, and Hanako were having a conversation between friends, and after a few seconds, he looks back towards his best friend/rival as he makes a suggestion along with a serious knowing look.
"You thinking what I'm thinking."
"Yeah," Conan nodded with his own serious knowing look as he continued in a resolute voice, "We should call The Doctor, considering that this is his usual expertise."
And so, Conan grabs his IDST (Inter-Dimensional Space-Time) Cellphone as he dials the number of everyone's favorite Time Lord, then a line was picked up as a voice was heard.
"Conan, what made you call?"
"Doctor, you better get over here, now, we have a... situation." Conan said in a serious tone.
After a few seconds, The Doctor responded, "Alright, I'm on my way."
And so, The TARDIS arrived at the Ekoda High School Gym, Conan and Kaito explained to The Doctor about all the events that have happened so far, which was The Prince's Diamond Heist and The Kaito Kid from another universe/dimension.
"Oh... dear," The Doctor said slowly while making a grimaced expression that was on his face, "That universe, this is going to be a very great problem for all of us."
"Why's that, Doctor?" Kaito said as he begins to take note of The Doctor's grimaced expression and realizes the gravity of this situation as he and the others now have their full attention as The Doctor begins to explain in a grave serious tone.
"Because this Kaito Kid is not a magician like you or your father, Kaito, this version is a twisted mockery of everything that you and your father have ever stood for. Unlike you and your father, this Kaito Kid is a phantom thief assassin."
"WHAT!" Everyone reacted in response.
The Doctor sighed heavily as he begins his explanation about the history of this Dark Kaito Kid.
"Alright, everyone, to explain what I mean by that, basically this Phantom Thief Assassin is a well known criminal and murderer in his own universe who would not hesitate to hurt or kill so long as his goals were to be achieved. What he did with his enemies was not very pleasant," The Doctor said in a tone of displeasure and disappointment,"Which is a very big understatement."
"For example, Hakuba Saguru, he murdered him by using his own Holmes coat as his instrument in order to strangle him and as a result, he was hung from the very top of the Tokyo Tower with a Kid symbol painted across his face. Conan Edogawa," The Doctor paused as looked at Conan with a saddened and almost tearful expression.
Conan begins to notice the expression that was on The Doctor's face as he begins to realize that the version of him that was in that dark universe had met a rather unpleasant fate.
This was also noticed by Hanako who begins to notice and realize immediately on what The Doctor was trying to say with regards to his expression. It's for that reason that she begins to hug Conan, to his surprise, with a tearful expression that was on her face. Conan notices her deep sadness immediately as he returns the hug while trying to comfort his adopted sister, with Haibara looking very upset at the dark revelation of his counterpart's dark fate as she makes her way to the boy that she love and hugs him as well.
Kaito's expression took a very serious expression that was not very pleasant because of this dark revelation while Akako looks towards her best friend (Ai Haibara/Shiho Miyano) and her best friend's sister (Hanako Edogawa/Akemi Miyano) in worry.
While the two sisters were hugging Conan, he was looking towards The Doctor once more, who begins to continue with his explanation that was filled with a tinge of sadness.
"He threw him into the freezer and dumped it overboard during his escape. His body was still at the bottom of the river by the time the authorities had found him but he is now in critical condition as we speak and is in the hospital at this very moment while barely holding on to life. Inspector Nakamori on the other hand, he could never get ahold of. It was only due to the fact that he was never alone or that he always shoots him whenever he came into his sights that he managed to live this long."
"This Kaito Kid is responsible for the murder of countless innocents and police officers who have all died in the line of duty as they tried their very best to pursue him, to no avail, and until this day, this version of you is still at large and has avoided capture which is why we must find him before he hurts anyone else."
Naturally, everyone agreed to that, especially Conan and Kaito considering that this was now personal to them, and so they have made plans of every variety in order to take this Dark Kaito Kid down and bring him to justice.
The next day, Kaito arrived at school just in time for class in accordance with A Certain Plan ("Keikaku").
"Geez, where have you been Kaito?" asked Aoko when Kaito plopped down in his seat.
"I had an errand," he replied shortly, opening his IDST (Inter-Dimensional Space-Time) Cellphone and was checking the news. The top story was that Kid had gotten away with the Prince's Diamond and that the cops had no leads.
'What's up with him?' Aoko thought to herself. 'He's never this quiet. Something must have happened.' "Is something wrong, Kaito?" she asked, hoping to lighten the mood.
"Sure. Great," said Kaito, not looking up. He pulled out a laptop and began working, with a serious expression that was on his face.
Aoko was so used to being the target of his snide remarks, pranks, and jokes she was astonished. Kaito was too busy with whatever he was doing to even care. He also looked really tired, like he hadn't had much sleep. She peeked over his shoulder and saw he was doing a web search for the Prince's Diamond, taking care to avoid the plethora of news articles.
"What's he up to?" Aoko thought, crossing her arms and determining to ignore Kaito.

Then the door burst open and Kaito walked in, looking like he'd just run a mile. Everybody stared at him, before looking back at the Kaito on the computer. New Kaito walked up and, ignoring all the stares, walked up to his other self and said, "You've got some nerve coming in here."
The sitting Kaito smirked rather confidently. "Isn't it you that has the nerve? You dare to challenge me like this?" Then they both drew a card gun at the same time. Sitting Kaito stood up and they moved into the aisle, both aiming their guns at the other.
Aoko looked on in complete horror.
When cards started flying, the entire class panicked and began screaming, bursting out the door and into the deserted hallway, creating a wave of panic throughout the school.
The only remaining people who didn't flee was Aoko, Akako, and Hakuba along with two of their classmates such as Sayaka Mine and Momoko Aoyama, all of whom were crouching behind an overturned table to avoid the cards while observing the battle between the two Kaito Kurobas.
"Do you have any idea on what's going on here?" Sayaka asked rather frantically towards Momoko who was right beside her.
Momoko was shaking her head in the negative. "No, I don't know what's happening either but I do know that only one of them." She looks towards the two Kaitos who are shooting each other with their card guns. "Can only be the real Kuroba Kaito."
"What's going on?" asked Aoko, still shocked. "Why are there two Kaitos? Maybe one is actually Kid in disguise! But which one?"
"Everyone! Get down so that you don't get blinded. Now!" she barked in command, making Hakuba, Aoko, Sayaka, and Momoko put their heads down behind the table so that they couldn't get hurt by the continuing crossfire.
Satisfied that her friends are safe for the moment, she got up and hopped over the table.
Cards were littered all over everything.
The two fighters were weaving all over the room, trying to shoot each other as fast as they could reload their card guns.
Empty packs of playing cards were also scattered around.
Akako weaved through the overturned desks until she was close to the fighters.
Ducking behind one, she concentrated before saying the incantation.
Red light appeared in the room, before immediately dimming back down to normal.
The spell had worked.
There were now two Kaito Kids fighting, each decked out in full Kid attire.
However...
While one of them wore the normal white Kid suit that everyone is familiar with, the other one wore black.
He wore a black tuxedo, orange dress shirt, and green tie.
Hakuba and Aoko looked up and their jaws dropped at the sight while Sayaka and Momoko were not really surprised at this strange occurrence as they have seen stranger and they only payed very close attention as they observed this spectacle in silence. Then after a few seconds, Aoko suddenly took a fallen mop from the floor and began to try and beat up Dark Kid with it.
Dark Kid knew when he was beat so he decided to open the window and tried to flew away, but a man in a brown Duster-type overcoat suddenly burst into the room all of a sudden and used his Sonic Screwdriver to deactivate his hang glider at the very last nanosecond.
"What?!"
"I don't think so."
Dark Kid turns towards the man with the brown coat who was accompanied by three children, one of them he recognized as the version of his adversary from his universe, as the man begins to say in a firm parental voice.
"You're not getting away this time. This all stops, here and now."
"Who are hell are you suppose to be?" Dark Kid said seethingly.
"I'm The Doctor," The Doctor said in a serious and parental tone. "And you, young man, are under arrest."
Dark Kid begins to laugh maniacally and viciously at that declaration that was just given by The Doctor, much to the shock and horror to most of the people in the classroom, especially Aoko who sports a frightened expression as she never recalled Kid laughing this viciously, Hanako became rather frightened at the laugh and so went towards Haibara for comfort, Haibara was staring at this twisted version of Dark Kid with eyes of hatred partly due to him scaring her sister and partly because of what he did to the alternate version of her boyfriend, while Conan and Kaito begin to have serious expressions as their own eyes begin to narrow.
After that twisted laughter, Dark Kid begins to taunt The Doctor in mockery while raising his card gun towards him. "Under arrest, you must be joking, you and what army."
The Doctor begins to smile slightly at that little jab as he said. "This army."
Then all of a sudden, men in Phase II Type 5 white armor with crimson red markings along with an Infinity Hourglass Symbol on their shoulder pads suddenly appeared in the classroom in the blink of an eye which surprises and shocks Aoko and Hakuba but not Sayaka and Momoko who are well and fully aware of who these men truly are.
They are The Clone Shock Troopers of The Inter-Universal Guard.
This type of Clone Trooper is significant across The Known and Unknown Multiverse due to the fact that they were employed to be part of The Mobile Task Forces of The SCP Foundation.
They are The Spatio-Temporal Armed Forces (STARS) equivalent to the military police or to the national guard who guard The Various and Diverse Homeworlds and Homerealms of The Temporal Powers Alliance (TPA).
These Clone Shock Troopers begin to raise their DC 15-O staser rifles towards him in full haste.
"Drop your weapon, now." ordered one of The Clone Shock Troopers.
Dark Kid was both surprised and shocked that these strange men in white armor with crimson markings had just suddenly appeared from out of nowhere and as far as he knows, this universe that he ended up on did not have technology that was this advanced which catches him completely off guard.
"You ok, Akako?" Kaito asked in concern, helping Akako to her feet while she said to him in a voice of reassurance, "I'm fine, Kuroba-kun."
"Just what is going on, Kaito?" Aoko asked suddenly, striding across the room and putting a finger in Kid's face. "Why are you suddenly dressed up as Kid? Why was there a Dark Kid?"
"Long story," said Kaito in a serious no nonsense tone as he looks with narrowed eyes towards his evil counterpart which denotes that he is officially done playing around which makes Aoko (especially) and his other classmates rather silent, with Akako looking towards him with a worried and concerned expression.
"You really are a fool, aren't you?" Kid began as he makes his way to the center of the classroom as his cape waves from his back due to the wind that was coming from the open window. "To think that we'd just roll over for an intruder like you. Add on to the fact that you suddenly invaded my school all of a sudden which wasn't the smartest move on your part. Just what do you think that was supposed to accomplish?"
"You're the arrogant one," said Dark Kid. "Don't you see? I never wanted to take your place. I wanted you to join me in a better conquest of the world. We could have all the jewels you could ever want! It would be that much easier to find Pandora! That's one jewel we both want, you know."
There was a moment of uncomfortable silence throughout the entire classroom as everyone stood watching the exchange take place in complete and utter silence.
Kid broke the silence with something that was expected by some and unexpected by others, "As tempted as I am by that offer, I'm going to have to decline for I'm doing just fine on my own, thank you very much. Besides," He looks towards Conan who in turn looked back with a look of silent trust in both of their eyes as he looks back again at his dark counterpart, "I already have friends who would help me with that little endeavor but you on the other hand are all alone, with no one to look after you, this killing spree of yours ends, here and now."
Dark Kid made a slight click in his mouth as he then draws his weapon at him once more but one of the clone troopers manages to stun him with his staser rifle which renders him completely unconscious as he falls down towards the floor in a thud.
After a few seconds, Kaito begins to sigh heavily as he looks towards The Doctor, who gives him a reassuring look which is telling him that he doesn't have to worry about a thing and that it's finally over.

After that fiasco in Ekoda High School which resulted in Dark Kid getting arrested by The Clone Shock Troopers of The Inter-Universal Guard, he was brought to the ID (Inter-Dimensional) Court where he would now be sentenced to a rehabilitation center due to him being a minor and not fit for prison. Many of the memories regarding the incident in Ekoda High School have officially been wiped, including the memories of the staff, the students, and more than half of Kaito's classmates which includes Aoko and Hakuba.
But certain classmates and students such as Sayaka Mine and Momoko Aoyama were allowed to be able to retain their memories of the incident due to them knowing about Kaito's secret for the former knew of the supernatural as a result of being associated with Yaiba Kurogane while the latter was a high school detective and an old friend and colleague of Shinichi/Conan and Kaito.
The Prince's Diamond was eventually returned back to Tokyo Museum of Geologic History without any further incident.
Kaito sat in class, reading the results of this latest information on his IDST (Inter-Dimensional Space-Time) Cellphone.
"Did you hear?" a voice asked suddenly. Aoko stood over Kaito, peering over his shoulder. "Dad got offered a promotion!"
"Oh, what for?" asked Kaito as he was still looking at his phone.
"Well, he got offered a promotion, but he turned it down. He said that he was the only one capable of catching Kid and that he couldn't leave it in the hands of a rookie."
"Same old Nakamori-keibu." Kaito thought to himself, grinning.
"If he thinks he's the only one capable of catching Kid, then he forgot about who helped him out this last time," Hakuba piped up from his desk nearby.
"WHAT?" asked Aoko angrily, gripping the back of Kaito's chair in rage. It was then that Akako walked in the room, her long purple hair swishing behind her beautifully. Hakuba's face grew red the moment he saw her. Aoko noticed the distraction and, noticing Hakuba's face, decided to get back at him via teasing rather than yelling.
Once Hakuba and Aoko had been distracted, Akako took the opportunity that was presented to her as she approached Kaito and whispered to his left ear, "It would appear that their memories have been wiped, none of them remember your identity, or my powers. It would appear that The Doctor's plan to contain the situation worked."
"Of course, it did." muttered Kaito, absentmindedly performing an internet search for Pandora in his moment of agitation. It didn't give any results that he cared about. He was thinking about the life that his other counterpart that he led and how it all went downhill with him there. He remembered what his counterpart had said to him before getting arrested as he felt a little too uneasy.
"We'll find that jewel, Kaito, " Akako said comfortingly. "Your not alone in this remember."
Kaito begins to smile at the reassurance that was given to him as he looked towards Akako, "Yeah, I'm not alone, since I have you after all."
Akako said sweetly,"You sweet talker," as she kissed him on his left cheek as she went back to her seat.
Kaito knew that he wasn't alone in this fight as he has friends and family like Shinichi/Conan and The Doctor to help him while being content that the status quo had been returned to normal without any further complications and he could now focus on getting Snake and his superiors behind bars once and for all. Happy at this prospect, he propped his feet up on the desk and stared out the window, hopeful for a brighter future.
