-What a rough case… — Phoenix commented while filling the paperwork on his desk. For him, that was the easiest part of his job, since all he needs is to stay sitting in his office for hours instead of proving his client's innocence. Depending on who is the prosecutor he is going to face and how is his case Phoenix prefers to deal with the paperwork instead of the prosecutor in charge.

The case was an open and shut case, which made his job a little easier than he expected, but even with that, the prosecutor in charge doesn't allow him to solve that case so easily. Curiously enough, he faced a rookie with a lot of victories under her belt, the prosecutor Sae Niijima. If there's one thing Phoenix learned in his job was to not underestimate his opponents, no matter what, but when he saw her on the opposite side of the courtroom, he felt strange all the trial. For some reason, he couldn't concentrate well, and every time she objected to something he felt he went into a trance he almost could get out. Maya also noticed his strange behavior and asked him if he was alright, just to receive a silent nod of him, ignoring his question. He sighed tiredly after he finished filling the last file and he leaned himself against the chair, letting himself relax.

-And done… Whew… That was a lot of paperwork just for one single trial. — Phoenix said with pride, glancing at the files. He checked the time on his wristwatch. — Well, is almost time to close the office. Since no one is coming here, I should call it a day and go back home.

Phoenix stood on his chair and he was going to exit the office when he heard someone knock on the door. He found strange the fact anyone would come at that hour, but he wasn't going to complain, since it could be a possible new client and it wouldn't hurt to attend someone at that hour. He opened the door and to his surprise, it was Prosecutor Niijima who knock on the door, with a bottle of wine in one of her hands.

-Hello Mr. Wright. May I come in?

-Sure, you can enter.

He saw the platinum-haired prosecutor enter and he avoided at all the cost to look at her butt. He closed the door and she turns to him, extending the bottle in his direction.

-I came here to give you this. Is a wine I brought from a shop I usually go to in Japan. It's from a vineyard in a small province of Italy. I thought you will like it.

-Oh… Er, thank you. I don't know what to say, I mean…

-Expect of Mr. Edgeworth, prosecutors aren't much friendly, right? — She asked.

-Right… I mean the last gift I received in court was a joe of coffee. And when I mean I received the cup, Godot threw the cup at me.

Sae laughed at Phoenix's comment.

-Prosecutors doesn't like you very much.

-I don't know why, honestly. I'm not a bad person and as far I can remember I didn't break the law.

-Maybe it's because you're too friendly? — She asked,

-Maybe it's because people think I'm a dork… — Phoenix sighed, then smiled at her. — Thank you for the gift. I'm sorry for not giving one in retribution.

-There's no need. I came here to celebrate your victory. It was an honor to fight against you in court.

Phoenix flushed in embarrassment but nodded his head.

-Thank you, but you don't need to do that.

-But I want to. I think you deserve something for defeating me.

-I don't take pride in defeating someone. I was just after the truth. That's our job, right?

-Right… — Sae answered. — The truth, huh…? What an odd thought for a defense attorney.

-I have the thought everyone deserves a fair trial, and not only that also I have the thought, no the conviction the truth should be the objective to be reached in a trial to make the justice prevail. That's why we have a legal system and laws in the first place, right?

-Right. — Sae answered with a smile. — Honestly, I never imagined you have such conviction.

-You should thank Edgeworth.

-Mr. Edgeworth? Why?

-It's because of him I became a defense attorney. You know, he defended me when I was a kid. Curiously, my other friend Larry stole his lunch money and I was the one accused. Everyone accused me, even the teacher, but he still defended me. Ironic, Larry defended me as well and both saved me. That made me become a defense attorney. Both inspired me to pursue that path, and years later I saved both, especially Miles… — Phoenix said with a smile.

-Both are very special to you…

-They're my friends. I need to help them when they need me, although because of that people think I'm gay.

Sae laughed at Phoenix's comment.

-Really?

-Really. Even Maya commented that once.

Sae laughed again.

-I thought your girlfriend would defend you on that one, not to support that.

Phoenix almost choked with his wine.

-I said something wrong?

-Yes, actually Maya is not my girlfriend.

-I thought she was your girlfriend. I mean, you saved her several times.

Phoenix laughed.

-No. She's also my friend, but I not dating her.

-So, are you gay?

Phoenix sighed tiredly.

-No, I'm not gay. It just… — He sighed again. — …I wasn't interested in any woman until now.

Sae smirked.

-Did I say something funny? — He asked nervously.

-No, is just… I wasn't expecting that. So, who's the lucky woman?

Phoenix started to sweat nervously as she stared at Sae. She blinked surprised and smirked again.

-Oh, so I am the lucky one…?

He expected her to laugh as he shook his head in affirmation. She blinked again in surprise and she leaned herself towards Phoenix.

-Why me specifically? Do you think I'm attractive? — She teased. — I mean, you attract a lot of women, you know? Obviously, you have a good reason for that.

Phoenix squeaked and took a step away, as the long platinum-woman leaned closer to him.

-Let me guess, you were staring at my butt, right? — He gulped and she laughed. — Yes, I know. I noticed you know? Or do you think I didn't saw you staring?

-W-w-well…

Sae giggled before she pressed her lips against his. Phoenix was caught in surprise by her move and Sae deepened the kiss, taking advantage of the situation. That was enough for his mind to shut down and he reacted, pressing Sae against himself, deepening the kiss even more. She moaned in pleasure as she ran her hands over his chest and Phoenix groped her buttocks firmly pressing her against himself even more. After a minute, Phoenix pulled himself away, realizing what he had done. Embarrassed for losing his self-control he couldn't stare at Sae as he walked away.

-Ms. Niijima, I'm so sorry about that…

-Don't be. I wanted that and you know, I want to do that too.

-Still, I shouldn't have grope you like that. I don't have any intimacy with you to do that. I mean… — Phoenix sighed. — I shouldn't have done that. I understand if you want to go home. I mean, like you and I shouldn't have gone that far and…

Sae smiled at his confession. She approached him and kissed his cheek.

-Well, I didn't say to you to stop.

Phoenix blinked and before he knew it, she kissed him again. Her soft thin lips were addicting and he embraced her, kissing passionately. Sae embraced him back as she cupped his cheeks with her hands.

-Are you sure of that? — He asked between the kiss.

-Absolutely…

That was the answer he waited for but the couple was interrupted by a loud shriek.

-Nick, what're you doing with… Oh my God. You two are…

Maya covered her face in embarrassment and ran away before both Phoenix and Sae could explain anything. The couple also saw Edgeworth, who glanced at Phoenix and Sae with a wide grin and said:

-You should at least lock the door, otherwise, you two will get caught like now.

-What you are doing here Edgeworth? — Phoenix asked hispid.

-I should be the one asking. After all, I never expected Prosecutor Niijima is dating you. And I never expected to witness you groping a woman like that.

Phoenix was speechless. He couldn't find a proper answer to say to the Prosecutor who just grinned at him with amusement.

-Well, excuse me, but at least you two should've knocked on the door. Now, if you please, can you leave us alone?

Edgeworth nodded and left the office.

-I thought you'll be mad with them.

-I am mad to some extend. I never expected them to interrupt us.

-I mean Edgeworth's comment.

-Well, do you don't want to date me?

-No, I want to date you. I mean, if you want, of course.

Sae smiled.

-I kissed you twice, doesn't that mean anything?

Phoenix was perplexed and Sae giggled at his reaction. Seeing her smile was enough for him to kiss her again. At this moment he couldn't care anymore, he wanted Sae and she wanted Phoenix too. That was their moment and this time no one could interrupt them.

EXTRA:

-Mr. Nick! Mr. Nick! I saw Mystic Maya and she was red… She…

Pearls glanced surprised at Phoenix and Sae, who stared at the little girl.

-You were with another woman which isn't Mystic Maya…

Little Pearl started to Phoenix furiously and started to slap him. Sae laughed and tried to argue with the little girl. Phoenix knew that'll be a long, long day for both him and Sae.
