After a small wander around Musutafu and getting himself used to the area Raven finally decided it was time to use his 'Quirk' and well, after 'first activating' his power he realised something… interesting
His power isn't really 'Illusions'
By that he means that he doesn't create or conjure up images or animations or whatever and give them a 'physical' form or whatever, no his power is much more similar to Aizen's Shikai from Bleach, allowing him to manipulate the 5 senses of whoever sees the release of his Zanpakuto to put them in a 'Hypnosis'
Except he doesn't have a Zanpakuto, or well, he doesn't recall having one
No instead his 'Quirk' just allows him the ability to manipulate the five senses of his opponents, the only condition being how close he is to them for them to be affected by his power, though his previous self had a flair for snapping his fingers or clapping his hands to activate it, of course, he was extremely subtle when using his ability and only used that if it wasn't suspicious but he'd been instructed to have some sort of 'activation' by his grandfather and the motion stuck
Like Professor X when he presses his fingers into his temple, it doesn't really do anything but it helps him concentrate
Same thing here, except this way he can also trick people into assuming his Quirk, is activated via sound which is a plus since they'll be on guard about him making any noise to use his Quirk
'I can't wait until I can pull the 'When did you think that I wasn't using my Kyoka Suigetsu' on people, that'll be fun especially on people like Bakugo'
He snorted at the thought, the image of a yapping pomeranian filling his mind since he knows the blonde will be pissed at him, impressed, but pissed
Especially since he's going to score pretty low on the entrance exam
His Quirk affects the five senses to create illusions and put people In hypnosis which probably won't work on the robots used in the practical exam since they're, y'know, robots
His illusions are next to useless on them especially if said robot uses something like heat-seeking technology to identify where people are-
They'd have to, otherwise, Hagakure would've placed first in the Entrance Exam, Bakugo is powerful and all but Hagakure is invisible and if the robots couldn't detect her she'd just be able to turn them all off
Hell she could've just followed Power Loader and turned them off there instead
Anyways, his power probably won't on the robots since they lack a sense of sight to manipulate, that said he doesn't exactly know what to expect from the robots so he could affect them he just doesn't know it yet, honestly, it all comes down to the exam for him to know if he can or can't fool the robots though he very much doubts it
For now, he'll just have to continue training, from what his memories had told him he'd been taught how to fight in both hand to hand combat and in different areas of weaponry though his skills with a gun were lacking and his swordplay was barely even average
'Maybe I should get a Katana and style it after Aizen's Zanpakuto, add In a machine that makes a relatively loud clicking sound and I'll be able to continue using the excuse of my Quirk being sound activated'
He toyed with the thought for a bit, debating whether he should get a regular sword in this life or wait it out and get an even better weapon sometime in the future
Eventually, he'll be going somewhere like Percy Jackson - or he hopes so anyway - and by then he should hopefully have enough cash/credits/points/whatever currency the Adventure Foundation uses to be able to buy a weapon forged by Hephaestus or even by one of the Elder Cyclopes
Or Briares
Or even the Elder Cyclopes- though that depends on if they came back from Tartarus after Apollo killed them
Though he'll settle for a sword made by Hephaestus, the guy is the God of Forges, Blacksmiths, Crafting, Artisans and all that jazz so the guy definitely knows what he's doing
'I wonder who I'll be the son of, if I get to pick then… well I guess it all depends on how I feel at the time, though right now I'd probably pick one of the Big Three if I could choose and if not one of them then… probably Dionysus or Apollo maybe Aphrodite if I could get access to their full powers and not just the regular big standard aspects of their domains, though if I can't pick them and have to take a 'Minor God' then I'll take Nike or Hekate since they'll help the most though I could choose someone like Kratos or even Bia, ooh Tyche as well, or one of the Rivers In the Underworld, actually that'd be pretty cool- Wait, no, Raven. Stop thinking about this, do it Later when you get to that verse then you can think about it!'
Sighing he dismissed his thoughts on the subject, even though he was debating on who he'd like his dad (or mom) to be
They all have really cool abilities and honestly, Rick didn't do the Gods justice, they're gods for fucks sake they shouldn't just get their ass handed to them all the time like he gets why since it was a book and it all had to fit but like-
Surely the books could've displayed just how powerful the Gods are, sure there's the angle that their powers have decreased with lack of worship and their own lax attitude but still!
'Raven! Stop! Thinking! About! It! Focus! On! The! Current! Verse! God! Damnit!'
Rolling his eyes he decided to actually move on from his thoughts this time instead going back to thinking about his current problem.
Does he get a sword in this verse or not?
"To be honest it wouldn't be that bad, I'd get some training with a sword and can continue to make people believe my power is dependant on sound, I wouldn't even need to use a clicking sound when my Sword is unsheathed I could literally just tie a couple bells around the handle of the blade, the only problem I can see myself running into is if I can get a sword in UA." He paused to take a drink, sipping lightly at the water on his coffee table
"Sure Snipe has his guns but he probably got a permit to use them and had to display an understanding of those weapons plus the fact that he needs it for his Quirk, then again UA probably has a lot of goodwill with the government for producing so many high ranking Heroes, the funding they have is insane and the fact that at least 3 out of the Top 5 came from the academy probably shows just how good they are so getting something like a sword wouldn't be too difficult" He paused again, a thought crossing his mind
"Plus the fact I'm from a respected Hero family so it should make it a much simpler request" He finished his rant with a hum, pondering about the idea before shrugging his shoulders, it doesn't matter right now, he'll think about it more later
Speaking of his (potential) sword he should probably start thinking about his hero costume. He doesn't really need one, especially since it'll only be used in this world or somewhere like Marvel or DC but he has to have on
"Should probably keep it simple and casual" He muttered "So I can wear it anywhere"
He nodded his head, humming once again as he started painting a mental image of a costume
"I could just wear some normal clothes, I mean, Ojiro wears a Gi and Jirou and Kaminari wear Punk clothing so I could just wear some normal clothes." He sighed, tilting his head and closing his eyes "Or I could just go full Aizen"
He considered it for a moment before cringing slightly, shaking his head at the thought
"Actually let's not go with that, I think I'll just stick with normal clothing instead of anything fancy, I'm already ripping off Aizen enough, plus I'd rather not have his outfit as my costume, instead… Hmmm… simple huh." He hummed as he thought, eyes lighting up after a few minutes as an idea stuck him
"Some Black Combat Boots so my feet can stay warm and protected, a pair of black tracksuit bottoms since they're easy to put on and aren't going to rip or strain that easily, a t-shirt, and a dark red and black bomber jacket for some style, oh I can also put some gloves on if I wanted to, hmm yeah just some plain fingerless gloves? Why not" He nodded his head, typing his mumbling in the notes app on his phone so he wouldn't forget about his current costume idea
"I need to think about a hero name as well, I mean, I can just continue as Raven since I won't be here that long but I may as well have one, eh I'll think it up later, doesn't matter right now anyway." He muttered as he typed, pausing briefly as the realisation that he'd need a hero name crossed his mind before ultimately shrugging the thought away
As he said, he'd think of one later.
"I need to start using my illusions differently on combat" He muttered as he sent jab after jab at a punching bag
The thought had plagued both present him and past him for a while, he'd originally used his Quirk for long-range attacks, altering people's senses so that they'd experience things that would put them out of combat, using his Quirk to make his opponent see horrific images that would paralyse then in fear, making them hear whispers that would throw them off, Invading their noses with horrible drenched so they'd gag, making them taste blood or other things that would make them pause or wince, having them feel sharp pains that would cause people to pause what they're doing or cringe in pain
He'd used his power to make people think they were fighting him when he wasn't actually there at all, or making them believe they were fighting someone else entirely
And sure this was all great, but in the end, there was so much more he could do with his ability
He could make people see him do one attack and do sketching else in reality, he could make people believe they'd been stabbed a hundred times in a minute when realistically he'd only poked their stomach, he could cause people to experience extreme bouts of vertigo and have them out of the fight, Rob them of their sense of sight or hearing, he could make himself completely invisible, making it impossible to perceive him let alone smell or hear him
And that's only just scratching the surface, there are so many things he doesn't even know if he can do yet
Can he slow down a person's perception of time? Make them believe the world's moving in a crawl? If he can, what would happen to his opponent? Would they suddenly start moving in slow motion or would they just stop reacting since everything is going at its normal pace and they're going half that speed or would they continue to fight?
Can he pull an Uchiha and recreate the Tsukuyomi?
Can he make someone deaf? Block them from hearing anything their allies say and make them act completely independently? Better yet can he mimic the voices of others and have them whisper orders to a person? Can he force people to tell the truth by psychologically torturing them?
Can he play It's Everyday Bro in their ears on repeat 24/7 until his target cries tears of blood?
Can he create entirely new smells and tastes? Can he make something taste so amazing they become addicted or so bad they vomit at the mere thought? Can he take a scoop of sand and make it taste like the best steak in the universe? Can he make a pile of horse shit and make it smell like a chocolate cake? Can he combine his skills and make someone see a chocolate cake, smell a chocolate cake and taste a chocolate cake out of a handful of shit?
Can he make someone taste something that only they could recognise, like their mothers home recipe for apple pie that they last had 12 years ago?
Can he make them smell something that made them pause, something they associate with home and family?
Can he-

But they're all valid questions, can he do all of these things with his power? How difficult does it have to be? Is it just a simple command, just tell his power that this is what he wants to happen and it'll do it or does he also have to know these things? Does he have to have heard their voices to mimic them? Does he have to have tasted these foods to recreate them? Does he have to know these smells to make them?
So many questions that he doesn't have an answer to, honestly it's times like this that he hates himself for never actually watching Bleach
He'd read a few fanfictions and read some of the wiki but he'd never actually watched it
Sighing he shook his head, clearing his thoughts away as he focused back on the punching bag, having stopped his training as he started questioning his power more and more
"Questions for another time, right now I need to be more subtle with my Illusions in a fight" He sighed before taking in a deep breathe feeling a small tug in his gut and a faintly visible copy of himself layered over his skin
This was one of the things he knows about his power that he isn't sure Aizen could see, in this case, he could also see his illusions if they were sight-based, of he shifted a person's perception to see a dragon he could also see said dragon if he wanted to, even if no knew else could see it, however to Raven his illusions appear transparent almost shadow-like
He could see everything about them in detail if he focused on them but if he's just scanning around or watching without a care, then his illusions appear like a shadow
Settling back down into his stance he started again, alternating between jabs and hooks as he attacked the dummy when all of a sudden the see-through layer of himself threw a nasty right hook, the illusions fist striking the dummy at the exact moment Raven himself jabbed it
Raven smirked as he pulled his fist back, illusions are great for all kinds of things, especially this brand of illusions and especially in fighting but this? Using his power in such a small way that he'd make his opponent see him through a hook instead of a jab? Well that had a lot of potential, especially since he could now fight without fighting
Especially since he can make his opponent feel both attacks landing
"Hey Ayla, I know you said I'd only be able to use you during the transition of worlds but I can still ask you questions while in the world right?" Raven spoke, looking down at the screen of his phone, waiting for a reply from the system to answer
Ayla: Correct
"Oh, that's good." He smiled before frowning, eyebrows crinkling together as he asked the question on his mind "Hey Ayla, can you explain why I have Kyoka Suigetsu as my power instead of just plain Illusion Conjuration/Creation?"
Ayla: In the beginning, the power you received was supposed to be Illusion Manipulation, however, the creator decided to update the system last minute, making it so any abilities you choose are pre-existing. For Example: Buying Pyromancy will now take you to a screen with a Wheel of different Pyromancers on it, from there the wheel will decide what form of Pyromancy you gain based on the Pyromancy they use. For Example: Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, The Mera Mera No Mi, etcetera
He stared at the message for a minute, a bit confused at why the creator had done this but inevitably just shrugged his shoulders and went along with it, as of hearing his thoughts Ayla sent another message
Ayla: The Creator is rather fickle and will more than likely continue changing parts of the system until he grows bored of changing things
Raven 'aaaah'ed nodding his head at the message, he'd accepted by now that he's just a pawn for this Creator's amusement, that said he didn't care much about it in the first place, if the being who gave him a second life and allowed him to venture the multiverse wanted to watch him do it like a TV program then go ahead if he wanted to make changes to his system then go ahead, it doesn't change much for him other than making him adapt to the changes
Nodding his head once again he turned back to his phone, another question burning in his mind
"You've mentioned it before Ayla but never really explained it, what exactly is the currency of the System? Because I don't know how I'm going to buy if I don't know the currency"
Ayla: At the end of each Universe you'll be given 1000 Credits, you can either spend these Credits or Save them, alternatively you can ask for 'Quests' and earn Credits that way
"I take it the Quests given to me will be dictated by the world I'm in"
Ayla: Yes
"I see…" He Hummed, letting the silence drag out before Sighing "I think that's everything for now Ayla, thanks for answering though"
The system didn't respond, leaving him silently alone in his apartment. Raven just sat In his living room for a few minutes, fully processing what had happened when-
*Ding Ding*
"Oh, that's my pizza, perfect timing!"

Yes, it was a good day to be Raven King, a Good day indeed
Shorter chapter than I usually do but it was mainly so I could show off his ability and answer some questions I created last chapter.
So yeah, the system changed so when he gets a new ability it's an ability someone else has, which is why he now has Kyoka Suigetsu (and yes I know it's technically a Hypnosis ability but shhh) instead of simple Illusion Manipulation
I also started fleshing out the System some more, or I think I have anyways. The system will mostly be passive in this story only really coming out at the start of each world and when Raven asks Ayla questions, the addition of Quests was mainly so I could have Raven get more Credits and because I thought it would be a fun thing to do, even then though the quests won't be a massive thing and will only show up when he's bored
An example of a Quest could be 'Survive against Mirio Togata longer than your classmates for 150 Credits' or something like that
The bigger the quest the bigger the reward
I'm tempted to do a Gacha but I don't know since I'd just be too tempted to give him good stuff
Now as you can see I've already designed his hero costume, it's basically just some normal clothing with a bomber jacket, fingerless gloves and some combat boots, nothing special but something he can use in every world he travels to
What I want to know is what his Hero Name should be? Should I just keep his Hero Name and Raven or actually give him a hero name?
I also want to know about his sword, he's definitely going to have one, there's no doubt about it but I'm wondering what sword he should have. Do I give him a Katana? A Xiphos? A Gladius? A Bastard Sword? A Kopis?- I don't know
I'll think it up later and decide sometime during the next chapter or the one after that, but do let your opinions be known in the review section, it means a lot to get your guys opinion as well
