The next morning finally came...

The sun shines through the window, waking Katie up in the process.

Katie sat up from the bed, rubbing her eyes as she removed the covers off of herself. She then proceeded to stand up from her bed and get dressed in her usual attire. Normally afterwards, Katie would go downstairs and eat breakfast with her father, but since she felt like she had enough time to do so, the girl decided to unpack her backpack.

The tomboy picks up her backpack off of the chairs, and unzips it. She began to take out everything that she had brought back from college, placing all of them in their rightful place. She placed the clothes she brought back into her closet, she placed her laptop back onto her desk, she placed her toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss container back into her bathroom, and finally, placed the books she brought with her on top of her dresser. Once everything was finally unpacked, the tomboy finally went off to go have breakfast with her dad downstairs.

Katie walked downstairs, as she was smelling a pleasant smell that was coming from the kitchen. She walked over to that area, seeing her father was cooking some pancakes for the both of them. The father of the tomboy looks behind himself, seeing his daughter had finally woken up and entered the kitchen.

"Ah, dear. You're awake." Katie's father said with a smile. He hovers the frying pan over a nearby plate, placing a pancake down onto it with a spatula. He hands the plate over to his daughter. "I bet you missed having me make breakfast for the both of us, hmm?"

The tomboy nodded, before taking the plate from her dad. "Yeah, I really did." Katie said, before turning around to go over to the table. "Tell you, it beats going off to the same coffee shop everyday in order to get any sort of breakfast."

"Then I guess this feels like a blessing, eh?"

Katie sits down in one of the chairs around the table, then points towards her father. "You bet, dad!"

Katie sat down and waited for her father come over here when his own breakfast. Once her father gotten himself some pancakes, he went over to the refrigerator and collected him and his daughter the bottle of syrup inside. He then went over to the table and sat down with his daughter.

Right before he could eat his breakfast however, Katie's father immediately realized something that he had forgotten to do. "Oh...that reminds me." Katie's father said, before standing up from his chair. "I must bring something downstairs to give to you now that you've decided to work alongside me at the dentist. It's been something that I've been meaning to give you for awhile now."

Katie's father then exits the kitchen, then heads down the hallway to the stairs. The tomboy on the other hand remained sitting there at the table, very curious with what her father has to give to her. From the sound of whatever it was, she could only assume that her father was going to give her something that's related to the dentist. Whatever it is, she continued to eat in silence, while waiting patiently for her father to return to the table.

After a couple seconds, Katie's father finally returned to the kitchen with a present in hand. The tomboy quickly took notice of the present that her father was carrying, wondering what was inside of it. She stood up from the chair she was sitting on, then walked over to her father, who hands the small gift over to her once she approached him. The girl gave the present a look for a few seconds, before looking up at her father, who then spoke to her.

"Go ahead and open it, dear." Katie's father said.

Katie took a look at the box for a couple more seconds, before finally removing the lid from it so that she can see what's inside. As she looked inside the box, Katie's assumption of this gift being something work related was pretty much true. The tomboy reaches into the box, pulling out a long white dentist coat that has a dark blue badge with a tooth printed on it, as well as a small container that carried some dentist equipment. Seeing both of these things in here, Katie was most definitely surprised.

"I must apologize for this gift coming on such short notice." Katie's father told her. "I was meaning to send this to you earlier this February for your birthday. However, since you were still trying to think if you should work at either alongside me at my job or work at a different dentist, I rather not put you under any sort of pressure."

Katie took a look at the two items that her father has given her, then places them back into the box. "Well, that or not, I think I would've still picked working with you anyway, dad." Katie said, before turning towards her father. "Either way, thank you for the gifts."

"Don't mention it, sweetheart."

After the father said that, the both of them hugged each other, delighted about everything that was happening so far. The hug was short however, as after a couple seconds passed, the both of them heard the sound of knocking coming from the front door. The two looked towards the hallway, curious on who was even here right now, as both of them weren't really expecting anyone stopping by today. Regardless, Katie's father went off to see who was here.

Katie's father opens the door, only to see that Crystal was standing there. "Oh, hello Crystal." Katie's father said to her. "Now what brings you here this morning?"

"I was just seeing if Katie was willing to hang out today." Crystal told him. "I mean...she did just return to Simport after almost an entire year, so...she cool to hang out right now?"

Katie comes walking over to the front door, seeing her best friend standing there on her porch. "Crystal?" The tomboy asked with a surprised look on her face. "What are you doing here?"

"Don't mind me, Katie. I was seeing if you willing to hang out or not."

"I...don't know. I mean, I want to hang out today too, but..." Katie then looks over to her father, before holding up her hands. "I rather not bail on my dad."

Katie's father chuckles a bit, before patting his daughter on the shoulder. "Go right ahead, Kathryn." Katie's father told her. "I believe most of your friends were wondering how you've been ever since you left."

"Truthfully, I am a bit curious how everyone's been doing ever since I left." Katie then looks over to her father, before hugging her father. "Thanks dad. I'll be home in a couple hours, hopefully. I'll call you when I'm coming home."

"Alright, dear."

After that was all said and done, Katie picks up her skateboard from the side of the door, then exits the house. She and Crystal high-fived each other, before they began to make their way over to the sidewalk. Once he saw that his daughter was on the sidewalk, he steps back into his house and closes the door.

While the two were walking through the neighborhood, Katie was left curious what some of her previous friends were doing right now. Heck, she was wondering if some of them were still living in Simport or if they moved out. She was even curious if she and Crystal will happen to stumble upon them during their walk. So far, they didn't really stumble upon anyone yet.

It wasn't until a couple more minutes of walking that Katie finally saw two people that she saw multiple times around here. Not only were they two people she knew, they were a couple. The man of the two has spiky blonde hair and wore a dark blue shirt with the UK flag on the front of it and dark brown pants. The other is a woman with brown hair in two braids and wore a light green and yellow beanie on her head, a dark blue jacket with a pink t-shirt underneath, and a black skirt. Katie hasn't really spoken a lot to back when she lived here, but she has seen these two together, a lot.

"How am I not surprised that Travis and Liberty are still together?" Katie said, almost chuckling at the couple across the street.

Crystal turned her head to look across the street, seeing exactly what Katie was seeing. "Yeah, I'm surprised those two are still together." Crystal said. She then scoffs out a chuckle, before shaking her head with a smirk. "Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if those two end up marrying later on. Am I right?"

"Beats me, dude." Katie giggled to herself a bit, before she and Crystal continued to walk. After a couple of seconds, Katie stopped laughing and then decided to ask her best friend something. "Um...anyway, aside from them...how's everyone else been doing while I was gone from Simport? After everyone we know had graduated from the Royal Academy, I'm very curious what most of them are doing."

"Well..." Crystal rubbed her chin, as both of them approached the corner of the block that they were on. "...Let me think..."

Crystal went over to the street-light, looking up to see what street they were on right now. From the looks of it, she didn't know if there was anyone who lived around this area, as far as she knows. Truthfully, the only houses that she knows the location of is most of the goths that she hangs out with, and that's about it.

"I don't know, dude. All I know is that this neighborhood feels like a maze to me at times." Crystal said as she places her hands on her hips. "But, if I should tell you anything, it's that..."

"Crystal?" A female voice said from nearby.

Crystal's eyes widened as she recognized that voice instantly. She turns around, seeing one of her goth friends walking up to her and her best friend. The girl coming towards them has extremely spiky black hair with pink eyes and visible fangs. She also wears a purple Japanese dress with a pink corset. Upon seeing the girl coming her way over to the two of them, Crystal steps aside letting her friend join them in their conversation.

"Oh, Yuki." Crystal said with a smile. "What are you doing out here?"

"I'm just off to go meet up with Goth Boy at his house." Yuki said, before taking notice of Katie next to her. "Who's your friend?"

"It's...Katie. Katie Morris." The girl in the cap said. "We already met." Yuki shook her head to that being said, which then caused Katie to frown at her. "I'm that one girl who usually has toothbrushes and toothpaste in her locker."

"Oh, Yuki now knows who you are." Yuki then looks over to the rebel girl again. "I forgot you were friends with this girl. Yuki didn't know your friend's back from college."

"Well...now you know." Crystal said with a smirk. "Anyway, I wish I could hang out with you, but now that Katie's back in town, I feel like spending time with her. I'll probably see you later tonight at Goth Boy's house though."

Yuki nods her head. "Great." She then looks over to Katie one more time, before waving at her. "It was nice seeing you again."

"It was nice seeing you too, Yuki." Katie said. After their brief conversation, Yuki began to walk off as Katie and Crystal began to walk the other direction. "So...I guess Yuki's doing alright. How's your other friends doing?"

"Well...all are doing fine, as far as I'm concerned." Crystal told her best friend. "I mean...Goth Boy's still an asshole, as always...but, hey, what can you do? He's been like that ever since one of his closest friends left town." Crystal then glared off to the distance, before muttering her next words. "That...and one asshole couldn't stop pestering him to let him and his buddy hang out with the rest of us."

"Damn..." Katie said before placing her hands in her jacket pockets. "What about Violet? How's she and her little sister doing?"

"Well...Poppy's doing alright at the florist, and as for Violet..." Crystal smiled, before turning her head towards her best friend. "...Tell you one good thing that has happened to her while you were off in Augusta. She and Lord Daniel have finally broken up."

"Really?" Katie asked, sounding depressed to hear this, unlike Crystal. "How's...this good exactly?"

"To Violet, it was good. The two were different, Lord Daniel loved cute things...while Violet was goth...I kept telling Violet that that relationship will never last...and I was right."

"Well...still, I hope she's doing alright after all that she went through."

"I don't there's really anything to worry about. Violet took the break-up very well..." Crystal than faced forward, before continuing to talk. "...As for Lord Daniel, he went back home to Cutopia, Wales. That's...pretty much all I know."

"Oh...okay."

"Anyways, Main Street should be right nearby here." Crystal began to walk a little bit faster than her friend, as Katie soon walked faster to reach up with her best friend.
