Chapter Two: Social Struggles

.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,

"Okay. I want to stay, if you'll have me that is." Luz said with the most determined tone she could muster.

"Is that so? Well, I'll be glad to have you around, IF you promise to work for me before I teach you any spells. It may not be as glamorous as you may have hoped, but it's the best I can offer. Do we have a deal?" Eda offered.

There wasn't much thought by Luz as to whether or not she would accept, she knew she would, but she still felt a slight pang of guilt about lying to her mother. What would she think, was a thought floating around in Luz's mind.

"I accept, I can't wait to not fit in together." Luz finished.

Eda was pleased by her new apprenticeship, but before she could make a snide remark, Luz attacked her with a hug.

"Thank you!" Luz exclaimed as she buried herself deeper into the hug.

"Ok, that's enough of that," Eda warned before pulling out of the hug and continuing, "now let's get off to bed, you have a long day ahead of you tomorrow. I can get you a bed soon, but for now, I think I have something that might do the trick."

Just like that, Eda ran up the stairs and Luz followed. They walked to the door of a room in the hall. The house was something out of Luz's dreams. Everything seemed enchanted, the house was full of life, and she couldn't get enough of it. Eda led her to a small room at the end of the hall. It wasn't too small, but it was certainly modest. Luz loved it. On the ground, as if it was already set up, was a blue sleeping bag with white dots all across the surface.

Luz didn't waste a second, she plopped down onto the bed after setting her backpack down on the ground. It wasn't overly comfortable, but it was plenty. She looked up to Eda and King, who were both smirking at her cuteness.

"What?" Luz questioned.

"Goodnight Luz," Eda answered, earning a smile on Luz's face.

Luz returned the favor and Eda walked away, presumably to her own room. King stayed in the doorway to the room, fidgeting in place as he searched for the confidence to speak.

"What's up King?" Luz asked with enthusiasm.

"Your bed looks fluffy," King stated.

Luz patted down a spot at the end of her bed. King walked over and got comfortable before laying down. Luz laid down on her bed and closed her eyes. Tomorrow was going to be crazy, whatever Eda had in store was sure to be as crazy as today, for better or for worse.

She fell asleep, filled with anticipation for the day ahead.

.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,

Well, this is boring, Luz thought to herself. She was at the very same shop that she entered only a day ago. This time she had more time to examine the finer details of the place she inhabited. Eda seemed to be seeing 'Human Artifacts' for exorbitant prices. She had no idea what any of it was either.

The vast majority of Eda's products were considered to be garbage on Earth, but somehow they sold for very good money here on the Boiling Aisles. Eda used Luz's sales skills to sit in the back and read something called Hent-

Someone walked up to the shop and got Luz's attention. It was a girl, no older than herself in fact. She had pointy ears, much like Eda, but she looked much different as well. She had a pointy face with very fair skin. She had golden eyes and green-dyed hair, although the roots of her hair were clearly a lighter brown. She was beautiful.

"Uh hello?" The girl asked, pulling Luz out of her thoughts.

"Sorry sorry sorry. Would you be interested in… ummm… a mirror… or… or maybe some lipstick… I'm gonna stop talking now..." Luz stuttered, fumbling for words.

The girl didn't falter, not even a smile donned her face. It was more of an inquisitive glare that Luz couldn't quite decipher. The girl spoke once more, "Yeah, no. Who are you? What happened to the Owl Lady?"

At the mention of her nickname, Eda came to Luz's aid, "Present!" she exclaimed with a hand on Luz's shoulder.

"Why if it isn't the apprentice of my little sister. How's it going, Amity? My sister send you to come and capture me again?" Eda teased.

Amity, Luz thought. Even her name was beautiful. She stared at Amity in adoration, muting the words of Eda and her conversation in her mind. She only watched Amity, something was different about her, she wanted to know more.

Before she could inquire for more answers, the girl was gone. She wore a sour expression as she gracefully strode in the other direction. Luz felt an urge to run after her, but after she took the first step, Eda grabbed her by the hood and stopped her in her tracks.

"Luz, could you be any less subtle? You can't hit on my customers!" Eda warned.

"Wait what? I wasn't… I didn't… I just… noooooo." Luz stammered.

"You know I was young once too, I would watch who you chase after though. Her master is my sister, and she does not like me." Eda explained.

"Well, why not?" Luz asked with genuine interest, as she always did.

Eda was not quite in the mood to answer the question right now, so she proposed a compromise, "Look, we're not there yet. Maybe I'll tell you about my terrible past another day. Maybe I'll even let you stare at Amity some more too if you don't ask about it."

"I was not staring!" Luz exclaimed with a loud yell, embarrassing herself when she noticed everyone in a 10-foot radius staring at her.

"Yeah, you're right, you were practically drooling too, don't let me leave that part out." Eda mocked.

Luz was now thoroughly embarrassed. She slung her hoodie over her head and ran into the tent. Eda laughed out loud at her embarrassment and wiped non-existent tears from her eyes.

King stood at her feet, "You know, if you want her to stay, you're not helping,"

"What? Come on, she'll be fine. I was just teasing." Eda claimed.

"I don't get the impression she likes being teased," King reasoned.

"Why are you being so protective, you've known her for like 8 hours, geez." Eda wondered.

King didn't respond verbally, he instead gave her the cold shoulder and stomped off in the direction Luz went. Eda had a moment to herself, with nobody coming to her store at the moment and her two roommates hiding in the back of the tent. I wasn't that mean, Eda reasoned with herself. Maybe I shouldn't have taken it that far, she faltered for a moment, even in her own mind. God am I really about to do this, she questioned as she began walking into the back of the tent.

She looked around, hoping to spot the two. They were not in the room. She facepalmed, did they really run away? It was at that moment that she heard whispers from behind the back wall of the tent. It was a relief, more than anything.

She made her way to the back of the tent and lifted it, exiting out the back. She spotted the two. King laid across Luz's lap as Luz stared off into the distance.

An ever so slight pang of guilt came into Eda's mind upon seeing Luz in her saddened state. She came over and put a hand on Luz's shoulder, she didn't flinch.

"Ya know Luz, I may tease you sometimes but I just want the best for you. I have lived long enough to make these mistakes so maybe I thought I could stop you from making them, but for what it's worth, I'm sorry." Eda explained.

Luz seemed confused by her apology, having not needed it. She wasn't mad at her or anything, she was just embarrassed at first, now she just wished that she wasn't so bad with people. Maybe if she could just fit in, things would be better for everyone involved. But no, that was her mother talking.

"It's fine Eda, I just don't get why I can't fit in no matter where I go." Luz sighed.

Eda was just as surprised as Luz had been, but for a different reason. Maybe she's a tougher girl than she lets on, Eda thought to herself before saying "You don't have to fit in. I know that you don't think people are going to like you for who you are but take Amity there for an example. She is definitely pretending to be a tough girl when deep down she has insecurities too. If someone like her doesn't like you, then she doesn't deserve your friendship."

"So do you deal with stupid teens often or is this just another talent of yours?" Luz joked.

Eda snorted at the girl's joke, admiring the child that only moments ago was panicking over some dumb crush that she would most likely never get to talk to again. That was only if Eda didn't have any say anyway. She knew Amity's parents and she knew her sister. They make her suppress her personality, Eda knew it all too well.

Luz got to her feet and turned to hug Eda, this time it was reciprocated and enjoyed by both parties. The two broke apart after their short hug and walked back in the direction of Eda's shop. They walked through the back wall and back to the register.

The sight that appeared was an unwelcomed one. Eda tensed. Luz blushed. It was none other than a woman with similar facial features to Eda… and Amity. Is that Eda's sister?

Luz's curiosity didn't take long to be satiated once the woman spoke, "Edalyn, it's been far too long."

"That it has," Eda responded, pushing Luz behind her for protection.

"And what's this? A human? What use do you have for one of those?" the woman spoke in a cruel tone.

"What do you think sister? Isn't it obvious? I'm gonna eat her of course." Eda responded.

Luz was not afraid however, she knew that Eda was lying. She wouldn't let her get hurt, intentionally at least. She did get a fairly deep cut yesterday, but what could have been done about that?

Amity was the next to interrupt the tense silence, "Liar!"

"Silence Amity," the woman added, forcing Amity to squirm in place.

"Ah sister, still treating your apprentice like garbage? It's a wonder that she hasn't run away like your last one yet. Maybe she'll try to get me to train her too, just like he did." Eda mocked.

Amity squirmed once more. The woman was the next one to speak, "It is from my training that she has become the top of her class at Hexside, and anyways, what do you know about apprentices? You scare away everyone that ever tried to become your apprentice."

"I know plenty," Eda added, pushing Luz further behind her. That was probably the worst thing she could have done, because it was for that reason that the woman made the discovery, "So this is your apprentice then? Does she even know a spell yet? She'll be just as worthless as you."

"If I am so useless, then why do you keep chasing me around?" Eda mocked.

"You know that you are only prolonging the inevitable, I will catch you, and you will join the coven. If I wasn't more… preoccupied right now, I would do it right now, but there are more pressing things right now." The woman explained.

"Lillith, you couldn't if you tried, you've proven that by now." Eda teased.

"It won't be long, you know better than anyone that you are running out of time." Lillith retorted.

"Oh yeah? Well, you know better than anyone that if you stay here, you'll run out of time soon enough." Eda retorted, earning a gasp from Lillith.

While the two bickered, Amity stared at Luz, she felt a level of disrespect just by Luz having taken up magic at all. Amity's whole thing was hard work. She worked harder than anyone to get to where she got, and anyone that didn't was considered to be bad in her books. Luz on the other hand just wanted to go somewhere that she could be herself, meet new friends, and learn about herself.

She wanted, more than anything, for Eda to be wrong about Amity. She can't be as bad as Eda says, Luz thought. She took a step toward Amity, causing her to recoil slightly, but Luz didn't falter. She took step after step, each one with confidence and purpose. Amity didn't step back anymore, she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious what the round-eared girl was doing.

Much to Amity's surprise, Luz held a hand out. She waited with bated breath for Amity to shake her hand so the two could be introduced. She swore that she saw Amity's hand moving slightly toward her own, but the second that Lillith turned to glare at her, she did the unthinkable. She slapped Luz's hand with great force.

Luz yelped and jumped back. She didn't take a moment to look away from the girl. She wore a hurt expression, grasping one hand with her other and watching as Amity ran away. It seemed like every person she met here just had to hurt her, the cut on her face reminded her.

Nobody was coming to her aid, as Eda continued to argue with her sister. It may have just been emotions, but she thought she saw Amity looking back to her at some point with a face full of… was she guilty?

The two continued arguing for a while, but once the two were content with the number of threats they threw at each other, they both left. Lillith walked away, in a different direction than Amity had gone, probably to call the guards on Eda, which she had threatened to do several times already. Eda knew her next move, so she made a circle out of magic in the air and her tent imploded in on itself. It got sucked into a suitcase she was holding, man magic is cool.

The trio flew home silently, Eda was in a foul mood, King was asleep, and Luz was contemplating. Even still, she didn't want to hate Amity. Something was intoxicating about her, it drew Luz in ways she couldn't have imagined. It was a feeling she never had felt before, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

After a quick and calming trip home, the group arrived at the Owl House. Luz tried to get Hooty to let her in, but he waited until Eda signaled him before he ultimately decided to open up. The group walked in and all walked in different directions, King to the kitchen, Eda to the stairs, and Luz to the couch.

It wasn't super late at night, but judging by how early they went to bed the night before, it was likely time to hit the hay by the standards of her roommates. She didn't plan on following suit just yet, she wanted some time to herself. Eda wasn't lying when she told her that she was going to have a long day.

It was largely boring, but the second she met Amity, things changed. She hadn't spoken a word to her, but from what she could tell, there was something to be discovered about her, something to explore. It was something for another day.

After spending about half an hour settling down in the living room, she returned to the room she slept in the night before. She walked up the stairs at a pace lacking urgency. Each step was quiet as she reached the top of the stairs, she hoped to be considerate to everyone living in the house that she had just barely moved into, in hopes that if nobody else would be nice to her, maybe she could at least have them.

She approached the same door that Eda had led her to the night before, expecting the see the very same sleeping bag as before. She opened the door with a loud creak and looked to the ground. There was no such sleeping bag, only the imprint of one on the floor made by a lack of dust in the single rectangular area.

She looked around confused and spotted a light switch to her side. She instantly flicked it with no second thoughts. The room gained a new light, it was shockingly bright as if the room had never been lit before. The room seemed so much bigger now. There was a small desk against the wall, stacks of books, and most exciting of all, a big bed.

Luz nearly yelped in excitement as she jumped on the bed. She was relieved to feel the unrelenting softness that it seemed to carry. It was the best bed that she had ever laid on and she knew just who gave it to her. She didn't make it subtle at all, as if anyone else in the house could have possibly done it. There was a big note on the bed that read 'FROM EDA' in large font, all the way across the paper in strikingly pretty handwriting.

She smiled at her mentor's actions and found herself being overcome by sleep. She pulled the covers over herself and quickly closed her eyes.

Eda peaked her head from around the corner and wore a soft grin. She knew that Luz had a bad day. She wouldn't forbid her from talking to Amity, but she didn't believe that Amity could ever change enough to be the person Luz thinks she is. I will never understand the mind of a teenager, but I will do my best to help her feel better, Eda declared to herself.

.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,

The morning was calm. The bed Luz laid in was the same soft one that she had fallen asleep in the night before. It had been hours and it was far past time to get up. Eda and King had already gone downstairs for the day, luckily for Luz, it was a Saturday. Equally lucky was the fact that the Boiling Aisles seemed to share the same weekly structure as her own world.

Luz's eyes opened slowly, introducing Luz to the 10:00 am sunlight that flowed through her window. It was directly in her eyes, causing her to fall out of the bed suddenly with a loud "OOF!"

It's like the world was out to get her or something, she had been hurt already in only mere minutes of being awake. She rubbed her head and walked over to the desk, which had a vanity mirror attached to it. She had never owned one of these before, but it served her well now.

She examined her head for a bump but instead found that her cut from two days ago was still on her cheek. It had healed slightly since it appeared, but it still left an obvious slice on her face. If ever there was a time for makeup, it was now, but Luz didn't have any and didn't know how to apply it.

She just rubbed it as if it would wash off and once it didn't, she groaned and walked downstairs.

At the top of the stairs, she stretched and let out a loud yawn. It had been a morning tradition for as long as she could remember, and it never failed to wake her up. She jogged down the stairs quickly and was met with confused expressions from King and Eda. Again? Luz thought. The last morning they forgot she lived there and it seemed like it was happening again.

"Luz, remember?" she asked aloud, earning an "Oh yeah," from the distant woman.

"Do you guys not have any breakfast?" Luz asked genuinely.

"Well we do, but nobody here cooks, so we don't eat breakfast," King responded.

"I don't see you complaining! You just rummage through the cupboards either way, so what's the point?" Eda asked.

"Well I can make breakfast," Luz offered to the two. They both looked at her with doubt, but neither were opposed to giving it a try. King had an insatiable appetite and Eda never minded a meal or a good laugh, so either way, it would work out.

"You're on Luz, surprise me!" Eda said in a mock-demanding tone.

"Me too! Surprise me too! Ohmygoshilovesurprises," King commanded in a real-demanding tone.

Luz was certainly not opposed, she often cooked at home with her Mami, so when it came down to it, she was no slouch in the kitchen.

So she made her way into the kitchen and began rummaging through the cabinets for food. She hoped beyond hope that she would find good ingredients and not anything too witchy. She pushed away the nagging thoughts and was thrilled to see that for whatever reason, Eda had pancake mix.

She audibly let out a sigh of relief and began the process.

In the other room, Eda sat on the couch with King, enjoying her morning apple blood. To say that she wasn't a morning person would be an understatement. She was downright useless in the morning, even forgetting about Luz both of the past two mornings. It was a rather pleasant morning though, even Eda could admit. With Luz walking into the room with a steaming pile of flapjacks, it would be hard to be grumpy.

Once she got to the table, Luz began to ration out the food, giving both King and Eda large servings while giving herself only a modest amount. Maybe it was something about the Aisles, but everyone here seemed so hungry, maybe it was just Eda and King though, who could really say? It was only Luz's third day in the fantastic new dimension, so there were still many things for her to learn.

After Luz handed the syrup to the two and then herself, she sat down at the opposite end of the table to Eda. She dug into her pancakes quickly, finding that a good breakfast was better than she could have possibly expected. The simple pancakes were delicious, of course, if Eda had other ingredients she would have made them from scratch, but seeing as she didn't, she couldn't make any complaints.

Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. King, who Luz had wisely given the biggest plate had already finished his food and excused himself, that boy could really eat. Eda and Luz took more time to savor their food and relax though. The prior found herself feeling much better than most mornings with the fresh breakfast being served to her. She spoke, "So you can cook pretty well?" Eda rhetorically asked.

Luz simply nodded with a smile on her face and food in her mouth, earning a light chuckle from Eda. There was something special about Luz that Eda couldn't explain, she was different compared to anyone she had met in the Aisles. She was kind, young, and excitable. She reminded Eda a lot of how she was as a kid. When she was in school, she found herself able to do all types of magic, which was a skill that was met with both envy and disdain. A lot of the students at Hexside would admit that they wished they were as strong as Eda, but the system didn't appreciate individuality. If it wasn't enough that they locked up anyone with "weird" personality traits, then they used more methods, forcing everyone in the Aisles to pick one track to study and enter the according coven after graduation.

Eda wasn't like the others though, even if she was technically part of the alchemy track, she still did all types of magic, going as far as to not join a coven after school. It was that last part that upset the Emperor's Coven the most. Nowadays, Eda had a large bounty on her head. She didn't want Luz to have to live her life on the run, but in her mind, anything was better than being forced to suppress yourself to the Emperor's will. And as previously stated, Luz was special, she was going to do great things in her future, even if she hadn't learned any spells yet, Eda wouldn't accept any less.

"So Luz, I was thinking that maybe tomorrow I could get your training started-" Eda was going to continue, but Luz couldn't contain her excitement, "REALLY?!"

"Well as I was saying… We could get started tomorrow IF you do what I say. I want you to go deliver some packages to my clients. You up for it?" Eda asked with a half-smirk across her face.

"YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!" Luz screamed as she jumped out of her chair and started pumping her fists in the air as she jumped around the home. Eda couldn't help but burst out laughing at the girl's unbelievable morning energy.

"Okay kid, there's a bag by the front door with packages inside, there is also a map with different spots highlighted on it, so get going hotshot!" Eda exclaimed as Luz continued hopping around the room until she finally found the aforementioned bag. It is HUMUNGOUS!

"My weak little nerd arms can't lift this!" Luz pleaded to Eda.

Eda simply shrugged and added, "Well I guess my weak little mouth can't teach you a spell tomorrow then…"

Luz groaned and made her first attempt. It didn't budge. She tried again to no avail. Finally, with all of her concentrated effort, she pulled and made some progress. It moved a little. It might take forever, but she wanted to learn a spell more than anything. More than it hurt to pull that bag, more than it hurt to wait, more than anything, Luz wanted to learn.

So out the door she went, pulling the bag behind her more and more with each pull. If nothing else, it was a workout. Maybe by the end of this, she would be strong enough to lift a stupid little lever.

So with each step, she drew closer to her first destination. Once she finally arrived, she pulled out the according to package and knocked on the door of the house she was led to. After a few moments of silence and catching her breath, someone opened the door. They were terrifying! It was a monster with a toothy face, similar to the likes of Warden Wraths. She nearly screamed, but the monster spoke, "Oh thank the Titan, I was waiting for this!" in a womanly voice. Luz collected her nerves and handed the heavy package to the female monster.

She took it quickly and just as quickly slammed the door on Luz's face. Well, she was unpleasant, Luz thought. She began to pull the bag once more. It was noticeably lighter, but still heavy nonetheless. She pulled once more.

The next few stops were easier, as Luz decided to not wait for the client to greet her. She simply left the packages there and knocked before walking away. The bag was now light enough to carry, which was a thrill to Luz because her next stop, and her last, was rather far. She would have to walk through a forest to get there.

She found her way to the edge of a thick, green forest. The trees and bushes provided little to no passage, but Luz had to get through, so she would. She pushed through bush after bush as she began to become riddled with tiny scratches. It took a lot out of her, but eventually, she found a real path. She panted as she sat on the ground, gathering some air into her lungs after exerting herself so thoroughly.

*CRUNCH*

A twig broke somewhere behind Luz, she nearly jumped out of her skin in her sudden fear. In fact, she did end up jumping, only it wasn't out of her skin, rather she jumped behind a nearby bush to hide from any oncoming person, monster, witch, or any other thing that lived on the Aisle.

She watched with the quietest of breaths she could manage under her immense panic. She heard footsteps growing closer to her and she watched with anticipation.

She watched on and when she spotted the person making the noises, she calmed herself. It was another girl, no older than herself. She walked on with a frown on her face as she continued walking down the path. She was mumbling something under her breath, it sounded like a spell but Luz couldn't know for sure.

Luz was about to come out of her hiding spot to greet the girl, but a voice more familiar than that of the walking girl was heard. It was Amity, she was coming from where the girl had and they seemed to be walking in the same direction.

Amity called out in an innocent tone, "Willow? Willow?" The girl ahead of her, presumably named Willow, stopped in her tracks and looked back in the direction of Amity. A frown grew more apparent on her face upon hearing Amity's voice. She spoke in return, "What do you want this time," in a cold tone.

Do they not like each other, Luz wondered. All signs pointed to yes, but she decided to listen a while longer to be sure.

"What do I want? I was just wondering how your abomination is coming along. It must be going as well as mine, right?" Amity asked in the same innocent tone.

Willow's face became red. Was it shame or anger? Luz couldn't decide, all she knew was that things were not going very smoothly between the two. If things get any worse, I'm gonna have to step in.

And get worse they did, as Amity spoke once more, not caring to hide her emotions when she added in a very condescending tone "That's what I thought. That's why you'll always be half a witch Willow. I don't even know why you still-" that was enough.

Luz jumped from the bush she was hiding in and in between the two. She faced Amity as she spoke "Stop! Why do you have to be so mean? Nobody deserves that."

Behind her, Willow wore a surprised expression, suppressing the tears that threatened to escape her eyes. She looked back with a comforting gaze, calming Willow immensely.

Amity didn't answer though, she only looked on in horror at Luz. She continued, "Amity, why?"

Amity took a moment to formulate a response, but rather than answer Luz's question, she asked "You again?! When are you gonna learn? Do I need to slap you again or are you gonna get the message? JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Luz couldn't form a sentence, she was filled with shock. She had no idea Amity was mad at her in the first place, let alone to this extent. She figured that the slap was just for show, what with Lillith being there.

What happened next surprised both Willow and Luz. Amity's face fell as she sprinted past the two. Luz felt herself begin to walk in the same direction that Amity went, but Willow grabbed her hand. Luz would be lying if she said she wasn't getting annoyed that people wouldn't let her chase after Amity, but she would swallow her frustrations for the time being. She would have another chance soon.

She turned to Willow, who wore a still shocked expression. Willow looked like she was trying to speak, but no words left her mouth. Luz took the message and spoke, "What's wrong?"

Willow's shock only continued to grow. She started to wonder if she was in a dream, some random person got Amity off of her back and was happy to do it. She couldn't find herself wanting to do anything besides what she did. She crushed Luz with a hug and muttered "thank you," just loud enough for Luz to hear.

"For what? I just got in her way and she yelled at me." Luz asked

"Well nobody else would have done it! Amity is super powerful, I'm surprised you aren't being crushed by her abomination right now." Willow said.

"Well I don't know, she can't be that bad. And also, I don't even know what an abomination is, so… yeah, no sweat." Luz responded.

Willow was confused again, this girl was unnaturally optimistic. I don't know why she thinks Amity is nice, but she saved me, so I guess I'll let her stay optimistic, Willow reasoned, having plenty of personal experience to know that Amity was cruel, cold, and distant.

"Yeah, maybe. Umm… now that I think about it, you probably already know my name, but just in case, I'm Willow, what's your name?" Willow asked, changing the subject.

"Oh, my name's Luz, and yeah, I heard Amity say that," Luz explained.

"Ok, nice to meet you, Luz! If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing out here anyway?" Willow asked.

"Oh well I have a package to deliver to someone called 'Hexside', do you know who that is?" Luz asked.

"Actually, Hexside is not a person, it's a place. I was heading there right now actually, we could walk together if you want!" Willow exclaimed.

"I'd love to Willow! It's that way right?" Luz asked as she pointed in the direction of the path that she had been heading down before

"Yeah, Amity should be there too, so watch out," Willow explained.

The two began their journey.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey all, I hope you enjoyed the chapter! I know it didn't have any fight scenes or anything, but I am still loosely sticking to the plot of the original, so I had to establish a bunch of characters, so as I said before, I hope you guys don't mind a little exposition. I also hope you are as interested in the vastly different direction that this story is heading in comparison to the real thing. I find it very fun to write and I hope you enjoy reading it. It is only just getting started and keep in mind that I kept this chapter relatively short because I want to get the exposition out of the way to get to the good stuff. Just brace yourselves because I am planning on doing some things that I doubt Disney has the balls to do if you catch my drift. I am trying super hard to write the teens' emotions to be as sporadic as possible because they're only 14 and they wouldn't understand their emotions, so why should we? Ok ok, I'm done, the next chapter may take a little longer to come out, but it's starting to come together, so I hope you're liking it so far. I just gotta write a chapter for each of my other two fics and then I'll get back to this one. Feel free to follow, favorite, and please leave a review to help me make the story as great as I know it can be.
