The Following Day
5:30 AM
"Madam Beverly it's time to wake up it's time to leave for London." Came the courteous tone of Rita as she tried to wake up Beverly from her slumber.
"A few more minutes please, Bianca was a slave driver yesterday, and my body is aching all over." Beverly said with a tired tone.
"That is not excuse, after all aren't you the one that has been competing with Madam Durandal as your rival." Rita asked Beverly, who could hear the faint sass in the English Maid's tone.
"Fine, Just let me get packed up and put my things in their luggage, by the way did our esteemed Overseer gave you something for me?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Lord Otto did tell me to give you a zweihänder and as auxiliary weapons a pair of gauntlets." Rita told Beverly, which got the woman to raise an eyebrow.
"Oh, And what are they?" Asked Beverly.
"It's the Blood Dance Great sword and the Cygnus Gauntlets. You will find them inside the RV's baggage compartment where you will also find the new battlesuit that Lord Otto had expressed the interest for you to test and use." Rita told Beverly which made the America let out a whistle hearing the amount of generous gifts Otto was giving her.
"Two weapons and a Battlesuit, huh? It'd appear that our esteemed overseer isn't taking any chances for this mission. Or is him simply being overgenerous?" Beverly asked Rita, who simply had a curious look on her.
"That I do not know Madam. I am simply following the Overseer's orders." Rita told Beverly as the maid was just as clueless as she was.
"Anyways, do you know where Bianca is?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Well... Madam Durandal woke up much earlier than it was expected and began packing up and right now I believe that she is in your RV." Rita Told Beverly.
"She's in the Rustbucket?" Beverly said.
"Indeed, although I would call it a Rust bucket if it were reconstructed with the best technology and equipment Schicksal can offer." Rita told Beverly.
With Bianca
As Bianca, who was dressed in a white shirt, a dark pink skirt and shin-length boots, finished placing her luggage inside the RV's baggage compartment, she entered the RV and saw that nothing had changed much and she turned her attention at a Photo that was at the table close to the door.
She walked towards the table and picked up the photo and a smile graced her face when she saw it.
In it were her, Beverly and Rita after their first mission as a team under the supervision of Ragna who was standing behind them with a proud look on her face..
Beverly was younger at 16 years old she was wearing a frilly shirt with a pair of Gauntlets, a pair of trousers, and shin-length boots, a brown vest.
Whilst Bianca was wearing something similar to Beverly but with a short cape and a skirt.
As for Rita was wearing a frilly shirt, a black vest, a skirt, black stocking.
And Ragna stood behind them, in the photo the woman had dark grey hair, and fuchsia colored eyes dressed in a simple black sweater, a pair of blue pants and boots.
"Those days sure were fun." Bianca thought to herself, as she recalled the time spent before Ragna died.
Bianca let out a sigh and put the photo down and walked back to the Hotel and to it's dining area.
Inside the Hotel
"Alright I'm done packing." Beverly said as she picked up her traveling backpack, which made Rita raise and eyebrow.
"That seems rather minimalistic of you Madam Beverly." Rita, who had her luggage bag to her left, remarked as she looked at the Backpack in Beverly's hands.
"Well... we will find the rest of my clothing inside the RV, now come I'd hate to let Bianca waiting." Beverly said as she walked pass Rita.
"Indeed, let's be on our way." Rita said as she followed suit.
As they reached the elevator Beverly leaned on the wall as she waited for to arrive.
"So... what've you guys been up to lately?" Asked Beverly as she looked at Rita.
"Well the usual missions of killing Honkai Beasts that appear around the world 3 days ago we were in Dubai where a pair Chariot Honkai Beasts were wracking havoc around the city. What about you?" Rita said as she changed her tone from cordial to a more social tone.
"Well, doing jobs for the Overseer and Beta testing equipment that need a delicate touch." Beverly said, though the later remark made Rita giggle a bit.
"If they wanted your delicate touch then the R&D department must have been very desperate to test their creations." Rita said with humor in her tone.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up Tommy." Said Beverly.
"My, I wasn't aware that you were one to use WWI slang names, madam." Rita said, again in a humorous tone.
"Anyways the Elevator arrived, let's not keep Bianca waiting." Beverly said as she got off of her posture and walked inside the Elevator.
"Also before we leave how about we go and get a snack?" Asked Beverly.
"Better now than starving later I guess." Rita said.
"Ok." Beverly responded.
As Beverly and Rita made their way out of the elevator they made their way towards the Dining area where they saw Bianca with a plate of french toast and a cup of coffee to her right.
"You go and sit by Madam Durandal, I will go and take the breakfast for you." Rita said.
"Thanks." Beverly responded as she walked towards Bianca.
"So, you sure are up early." Beverly remarked as she pulled a chair and sat in front of her Friend/Rival.
"Yeah, as the saying goes an "Early morning is a blessing"." Bianca said which made Beverly chuckle a bit.
"Honestly Bianca I think that you need to take things easy, don't overwork yourself." Beverly told Bianca who merely took a sip off of her coffee.
"I know that you have said it many time Beverly, and thank you for you worrying about my health, but it's my lifestyle and I feel as it's my obligation and I need to repay Ragna in some manner, as a thanks se did for me." Bianca told Beverly.
"Still going on about that promise are you?" Beverly asked Bianca
"I did promise Ragna that I'd grow strong and protect humanity in manner way possible." Bianca told Beverly.
"Well, it's not as if I can stop you." Beverly said when Rita arrived with two plates with Croissant and mugs of coffee.
"Well, about time you arrived Rita, I was beginning to get hungry." Beverly said as she grabbed the plate.
"Well Madam Beverly, it is a healthy manner to start a breakfast." Rita said as she handed the mug of coffee.
"So what's the plan?" Bianca asked.
"Well as soon as I finish this breakfast and pay for the room we will leave for London." Beverly said.
"Madam Beverly I almost forgot to inform you that you won't have to make any transaction as Lord Otto informed me that everything will be payed by Schicksal." Rita informed Beverly who looked at the Maid with a curious look.
"Really?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Well... considering that we spend money one making a flying warship like the Hyperion a few years ago, I don't see what's the trouble about paying a hotel for it's services." Rita said.
"Anyways, let's finish this breakfast get going for London." Bianca said as she began to eat her french toast.
"Indeed." Agreed Beverly and Rita.
Hours Later after leaving the RV at the Lee Valley
Russell Square
Bloomsbury.
"It's been a while since we've been to London hasn't it?' Rita asked Beverly.
"Indeed it has, and to be honest it really is a sight for sore eyes at times." Beverly said in agreement with Rita as she often times liked visiting London.
"Well where should we start our search first?" Beverly asked Rita, who had been looking around the city.
"Lord Otto did say that we would find our clues in the British Museum." Rita said when both the Main and Beverly heard noise of kids playing and turned around to see Bianca playing Football with the kids, though Bianca kicked the Ball high into the air which ultimately landed on Beverly's hands, and Bianca simply rubbed the back of her head in a small embarrassment.
"That was really cool! Can you teach me how to do that!" The boy who was dressed in a blue football uniform., said with amazement in his tone.
"You play like a real pro!" Said the boys friend.
"I didn't expect to get swamped by kids..." Bianca thought to herself as she was surrounded by the boys.
"Well kids you'll have practice harder and you might achieve what you've set out for." Came Beverly's voice which got Bianca somewhat embarrassed.
"Beverly!?" Exclaimed Bianca with embarrassment written on her face.
"other than that is this your ball kid?" Beverly said as she later asked the Boy.
"Yes, ma'am." The boy said before Beverly tossed the ball at the boy.
"Here you kiddo, now run along I wager your parents are calling out for you." Beverly said.
"Good Bye Ma'am." The boys said as he along with his friend went to their parents.
"Thanks for the save Beverly." Bianca.
"No problem." Said Beverly as she said on a close-by bench, which followed by Rita and Bianca sitting on her right and left respectively.
"I didn't expect you to choose England as your destination of Holiday. Is it because you were worried about me?" Rita asked Bianca.
"Is Rita flirting with Bianca?" Beverly thought to herself as she looked at the Maid
"I did mention a while ago that I would visit the UK when we had the chance." Bianca said, which caused Rita to get on her feet and walk in front of Bianca, drawing the attention of the two sitting S-Rank Valkyries.
"Then allow this humble English maid to give you a well deserved tour of the best parts of London." Rita told Bianca, causing the blond to get on her feet and walk past the maid.
"Seriously, is Rita really flirting with Bianca?" Beverly thought to herself, thinking that Rita was seriously flirting Bianca.
"Don't you and Beverly have to finish that mission the Overseer gave you?" Bianca asked Rita as she let our a small sweatdrop.
"Indeed, though we were 3 hours and 47 minutes ahead of schedule, which is plenty of time to give you a quality tour." Rita said causing Bianca to let out a resigned sigh.
"Well, then... I hate to admit it but I don't want to play football in a park all day." Bianca responded which caused Rita to smile.
"Leave it to me, Master Durandal." Rita said.
Hours later
Lunch Time
"That's a lot of photos Rita." Bianca said as she looked at the Photos, like one showing Bianca and Beverly acting as if they were John Watson and Sherlock Holmes,
another was them in front of the Big Ben, and another with them taking a photo in front of the Borough Market.
"I do have to say that the Ice Cream we had at the Borough Market was really nice." Beverly said recalling having a taste of the ice cream.
"Indeed." Rita agreed and then looked at Durandal who was eating neeps, Haggis, and tatties.
"What do you think of the neeps, haggis and tatties in dark whisky sauce?" Rita, who was writing something on her note book, asked Bianca.
"Well... It's pretty good I guess. Although I'm sure you can make them better. What's a Haggis anyways?" Bianca asked Rita wondering what the aforementioned dish was made of.
"A most delightful Scottish delicacy I'll kill to have some my self." Rita told Bianca with the after of the Latter never finding out what it was made of.
"Well, Haggis..." Beverly was about to explain though was caught of by Rita shooting her a cold glare which translate to, "Say anything and I'll strangle you in your sleep."
"Yes Beverly?" Bianca asked.
"It is really delightful." Beverly finished her sentence which made Rita smile, though that smile scared Beverly to a degree.
"Anyhow, I have listed a number of nearby landmarks that may be of your interest. Feel free to use the notes in this book as a point of reference, if you so wish." Rita said as she handed Bianca the notebook.
"Well, it'd appear that it's time for me to explore the city on my own, hope you can be my tour guide once you are done with your mission." Bianca said as she grabbed the notebook and began to depart.
"Of course, oh and Master Durandal, there something else." Rita said as she caught Bianca's attention.
"Yes Rita?" Bianca asked as Rita walked towards the blond, this did make Beverly raise an eyebrow, and the Maid took out an handkerchief which she used to wipe away a piece of Haggis that hung on Bianca's cheek.
"There, we're done." Said Rita as she put the handkerchief away and Bianca simply smile.
"Anyways, I will see you guys later." Bianca said as she left Beverly and Rita.
"You seemed to have been enjoying the date, didn't you Rita?" Beverly asked Rita with a cheeky tone.
"I would suggest to not be so cheeky, Madam it's quite unbecoming of someone of your standing." Rita said.
"Still, it felt good to have the ol' gang back together." Beverly said as she smiled.
"Indeed." Rita Agreed.
"Anyways, where do you think we can find our clues for the 2nd Devine Key?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Well, Lord Otto did say that we could find said clues at the British Museum." Rita told Beverly.
"Then to the British Museum it is." Beverly said as she made her way to said location followed suit by Rita.
The British Museum
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Miss Rossweisse, Miss Tennyson." Came a female which caught Beverly's and Rita's attention.
In front of them was a woman who seemed a couple years older than them, she had brown Hair and Coquelicot colored eyes was wearing a frilly shirt with a a blue cape, and an aquamarine blue brooch a pair of glasses, she wore a a long blue dress with a pair white heeled boots.
"Greetings I am Catherin the director of the British Museum, were honored to have been visited by two Schicksal Valkyeries." The woman introduced herself.
"Well met, Director. Just refer to us by our first names Rita and Beverly. Pleasantries aside this document should tell you the reason of our visit here." Rita said as she pulled out a document.
"Thank you very much, Miss Rita, Miss Beverly. The British Museum is at your service. Please follow me." Catherine said as she took a bow and led the Valkyrie duo to the British exposition.
"Our collection includes many treasures and artifacts from many different civilization around the world." Cather explained as the group passed through the Babylonian exposition and as they arrived at the British exposition they came face to face with an old fresco depicting a legend the three of them knew rather well.
"I am quite pleasantly surprised when I learned that Schicksal wished to pursue Items native to British Soil. This particular artifact is on par with other more impressive works." Catherin said as she showed the Fresco.
"This is a Celtic Fresco dating back to the 6th century which depicts a very well-known legend." Catherin told the duo as she began to explain.
"Merlin the Great Enchanter raised Arthur, and when the time came the young Arthur pulled the sword from the stone became the king of Britons. Then the young king founded the Knights of the Round Table all of whom swore a Chivalric oath to defend Britain. The Managed to defeat many invaders and brought peace to the land. The legend of King Arthur became the main body of the matter in Britain and is still Highly Regarded by the British people to this day." Catherin explain to them as she turned her attention to Rita and Beverly.
"Is there anything that you are interested in this piece Miss Rita, Miss Beverly?" Catherin asked the duo.
"Sadly, we cannot disclose that information and is deemed classified." Beverly told the Director which quickly apologized
"I didn't mean to pry, just simply treat it as a question from a Historian you don't have to answer." Catherin swiftly said.
"And we pray that you aren't offended." Rita said.
"Anywho, I will leave you two to your work then, if there is anything you may need my office is close by." Catherin said as she began to leave.
"Very much appreciated Director, thank you." Rita said as she saw the Director leave.
"Well this doesn't seem anything to write home about and the only thing that's eye catching is the sword in the stone and the Round Table." Beverly said as she looked at the Fresco.
"You are right, but this is where, according to Lord Otto, we would find the location of the 2nd Key." Rita told Beverly, who looked less than impressed.
"Did that old codger, get the information right?" Beverly asked Rita when all of a sudden they hear a purring sound and turned around to see a cat with a white and black coat and some odd tattoo like markings on it's forehead, ears and tail.
"A... cat?" Beverly asked in bewilderment a look that was shared by Rita.
"I thought you couldn't bring a pet into the Museum." Rita commented as she knew that it was forbidden to bring a pet inside the Museum.
"Could it that this cat belongs to Catherin?" Beverly asked Rita.
"Perhaps..." Rita said when all of a sudden the cat was engulfed in a bright light catching both Rita and Beverly by surprise
And in the place of the small cat stood a Honkai Beast with the visage of a cat.
"I'd bet that Gwen would have loved this cat as her pet." Beverly thought to herself as she recalled her cousin's fondness of cats.
But her train of thought was interrupted when the cat jumped to attack them
AN: Whilst I know that Yanks call Football Soccer, but understand that the Majority of her time Beverly had spent her most of her life Europe, going to US for summer Vacations, and she's picked up on the habit of calling Soccer how Europeans call it which again is football.
