Chapter Two: Biking Marathon
Pedaling….Pedaling...Pedaling
That's all of what he was doing. Each motion was getting him closer to where he was going.
The location that he was going to right now: Nowhere. Evan had no clue where he was going, no sense of direction at all.
The sun was beating down onto his back didn't help as well, but the clothes that he was wearing weren't all black to it helped l: Blue Jeans, a Black shirt, a dark blue jacket nothing too light or too heavy.
But his mainstay for transportation: His Bike. The Main color of the bike was mostly orange, with some white on the extra bits as well. It was one of those High Duty Moutain bikes, but evan installed a basket in the front just for good measure back in his old world"All right, Evan. Where the fuck are we?" Saying it out loud to himself in a confused tone of voice, right now it seems they might die in the desert alone before he can see the world for its beauty. Don't get him wrong, the desert sands have their beauty...but right now survival is better."I don't know, sure we're in a desert...maybe we should maybe look for a road or something" pedaling through the sand was something far from easy, with all the dunes he had to climb up them. Pulling all of his stuff with him. But at least there was a good side to this, whenever he got to a top of large dunes he just road down from it"Weeeeee" Riding his bike down one of the hills, going at almost "If you mess up, you'll get hurt badly" kind of speeds. But do to his somewhat capable riding skills, he was able to make it down the hill using the speed from it to travel ever so faster but not enough.
This one only one thing that was fun to do in this dessert, other than burning yourself out after a few hours of riding a bike. After riding down that hill, Evan would climb up another dune. This time it wasn't huge, just in the middle of being big and small. Sitting down on the top of the hill, he looked out into the horizon once again. Still being miles and miles of sand, with some dead plants being rare. It was just nothing
Evan was still actually just a kid really, about 16 years old. Standing at a good 5'10, not too large or skinny. His skin is a light brown but darker in some places, which helped with the sun a lot. From his bag of Many...of all of 5 snacks, he got out the Cranberry juice for now. Evan himself knew that this jug of juice was the only kind of liquid he was gonna be drinking, so he might as well start getting used to it of course. But most of the snacks he has are junk food. WHY WAS HE SO UNHEALTHY. But never the less he drank a little of the juice before screaming out loud, in a voice full of anger and confusion
But he didn't let this weigh himself down, that was for the pain of pleading for hours and thinking about his family back home. Standing up from the sand, he patted himself to take the sand off of himself. God forbid sand getting in his pants, that feeling was got awful.
Getting back onto his bike and riding down the dune that he was on, he keeps on pedaling through the sand. Everything was going smoothly, but Evan did fear what would happen at night time. He might freeze to death on his first night."No sleeping bag, food, or even basic survival skills to survive...I am so dead"While he was riding his bike still, he made it up a dune once more. This one being small, so he could easily ride up from it. But he didn't want to waste that much energy so he walked up. He did the same thing, riding down the hill.
This time was...different when he was riding down the hill. He actually would "hit" something.
"OH FUC-"
He was going at a good pace, but when he would hit something. He lost control of his bike, making him lose control and rolling down the hill while his bike only fell, slowly. Evan rolling down the hill, the only way it stopped is when he got to the bottom. His whole body was in pain, but only the kind when you trip something when going fast. Picking himself up, he would look around a little. But rolling down a hill made him dizzy for a few seconds
It was a snake, Long as his arm. Around its "Neck" area were his tire marks. Its neck was Completely crushed, the snake was still moving a little which made it weird as well. But he did notice how it looked. Black in color, the head similar to a cobra with those head flap things. He didn't know what they were called so he gonna call them that "Head Flaps". But the strangest part of the snake was the eye's: Blood Crystal...just pure red. It was a fantasy world of course so it's going to have some weird creatures. But this one seemed similar
"Maybe I'm seeing things...but a sorry snake. Today is not your lucky day" Since the snake was dying slowly, Evan wanted to put it out of its misery. He was against killing animals...but seeing it trying to move just didn't feel wrong. So he would raise his foot high and say
The bike was still in working condition, so he would pick it up. Get his bag and put it in the basket. Dusted off the seat of sand and rode off once again.
Unknown to Evan, another snake would look at Evan biking away from the corpse of the snake he just killed. It let out a hiss before it would follow the young kid.
