Sorry if the chapter is, like, too long, I hit a zone and I still don't really know when to end them and transition stuff over to another chapter
Familiarizing Oneself With Thy Power
Sebastian woke up with a headache that left him absolutely livid with the way it made his head feel cramped and his brain pulsating with blood, it was the kind of headache that made one feel that laying down and trying to escape its grasp with sleep would only make their current state worse by a large magnitude. The knowledge for all his requested techniques and abilities had been shunted –shunted meaning crashing into his brain at incalculable speeds— inside his head. The draconic teen feeling as if his brain was being overloaded with information that was familiar yet felt like a stranger to him.
Sebastian released a heavy sigh, sitting down and entering a lotus position. The teen had to set priorities before he continued forward in a blind –headache induced— anger and attracted attention. Three slow breaths later, the reincarnate had set his priorities; completely calm and ready to start handling the first –and most important— of them all for him to continue effectively down the list.
Priority One: Observe all newly gained information and organize his obtuse brain.
Focusing inwards, Sebastian decided to move in order of greatest to least; the order decidedly being the best way to execute the headache that stabbed at him. The reincarnate then grabbed the greatest amount of knowledge, parsing through it all slowly.
Dark Matter; The makeup of everything in existence, corrosive absorption to everything that holds any amount of its domain. The Dark Matter has labeled him its King, mixing with his draconic nature –seeing creatures that are fabled to have magic as their blood— and shifting his nature to match the Matter flowing within his body. When looking deeper it seems that God shifted things within DxD, making Dark Matter a well-known power that was wielded by the first Lucifer and God before their death.
This made the effect of an Evil Piece different than what would normally happen when in application to Sebastian. When the reincarnate is brought back to life through the Evil Pieces, he will be reborn as a Demon –the original species before Devils became the sub-species— which would make the Sebastian royalty in the Devil Society. The holding of Dark Matter worked in similar position to how the Gremory clan treats those who manifest the Power of Destruction, except it would be ten magnitudes higher seeing as he would be considered the rightful heir to the entirety of the Underworld and Heaven.
Sebastian raised his hand to be equal to his head, allowing some magic to seep out from around his hand. A miasma in the colors of an extremely dark purple with a glowing purple outline wafted around his hand, moving towards the grounds like smoke. With a flickering thought, the miasma of smokey Dark Matter shifted back around his hand with blinding speed, clinging around his arm just as he wished it to do so. Sebastian allowed the smokey miasma to shift and wrap around his arm at a slow pace, slowly growing accustomed to the feeling of the Matter obeying his thoughts with the greatest speed it could possibly produce.
Sebastian, finally ready to test the next part of the knowledge of his Dark Matter, directed his head towards a tree and offered a flickering thought that would be akin to a whisper: Absorb. The Dark Matter around his hand zipped forward like lightning, snaking around the tree and breaking it down within four seconds. The miasma, now enlarged from the Dark Matter that was once the tree, flew back towards him and seeped into his body with noticeable enthusiasm to serve Sebastian; their king of Dark Matter, king of the very world that is made of Dark Matter.
Once the entirety of the Matter sunk into his body, Sebastian brought his hand towards him mouth and started the next part of his Dark Matter. Like clockwork, the miasma seeped out and took shape in his hand, within seconds the miasma left behind an item in his hand. With a pleased sigh, Sebastian placed the mint scented, non-nicotine filled, cigarette in his mouth and lit it through quick application of Dark Matter to form a small fire similar in color to his miasma. Leaving the cigarette to laze in the left side of his mouth, Sebastian released a pleased sigh as he slowly blew out smoke from the right side.
Sebastian then continued to go through the powers bestowed upon him without missing a single detail of them. Occasionally testing powers –Structural Grasping, Tracing, and Shapeshifting— to see if they worked according to his projections, being extremely satisfied to see that they were exactly how he expected them work on the more basic level.
~One Week Later~
Sebastian was sitting against a tree in the Kuoh Academy uniform, another mint scented cigarette lazing in his mouth as he relaxed with closed eyes. Girls that occasionally passed by gushed over his visage with furious blushes and 'Kyaa!' leaving the mouth of ones who he opened an eye to glance at, increasing his annoyance at the girls for not knowing how to be quiet when they see someone relaxing. Sighing --with a cloud of smoke leaving with it-- Sebastian went back to waiting for his guest, she would soon be arriving in the next couple of minutes seeing as her club activities would soon end and allow her to come to lunch.
Minutes later, Sebastian's guest arrived with the sound of rushing feet, leading the teen to release a cloud of smoke as he directed one eye towards his only friend within the entirety of Kuoh Academy. She was pretty short, able to pass as a twelve year old with her size, her face was set in an emotionless mask that added an allure for the other males he couldn't comprehend, golden eyes that looked at his purple one with a light he didn't see addressed towards anyone else besides those in her club, and pure white hair that easily countered his pitch black hair in intensity.
Koneko Toujo and himself had both become mascots in Kuoh, their yin yang hair along with representation of how people saw them from the outside; Sebastian as the "Demon Prince of Kuoh" while Koneko had become known as the "Angel Princess of Kuoh" for some reason, and then there was the matter of how people assumed they were in a relationship, yet they both didn't care enough to refute it so they just played along with it as a joke. Sebastian didn't really care about his title since it was accurate to what he would soon become, except it be more accurate to call him the "Demon Prince of the Underworld" seeing as that was the correct term for reference. Sebastian honestly laughed when he and Koneko were alone the day he found out she was called the "Angel Princess of Kuoh". It even got a laugh out of Koneko as well since she truly understood the irony of her title, but he threw the thought to the back burner as he sat up and turned towards Koneko.
"Hello, my beloved Koneko" smoke trailed out of his mouth with each word he spoke, a light smile was gracing his face as he faced the Devil.
"Hello as well, my beloved Sebastian" her monotone voice spoke out, a smile mirroring my own on her face as she addressed the teen with a powerful draconic presence that clung tight to his body as if being told to keep as close as possible instead of running about.
"I took the liberty of making your lunch, beloved" Sebastian stated pulling out a Bento from his pocket that was only just created, Dark Matter forming a gourmet level meal of his choice. "lunch for today, m'lady, is a more simple dish of twenty-four pancakes, strawberries, scrambled eggs, and a biscuit" he drew out five more boxes to join the first one "of course, I produced a multitude of such a dish in knowing of my loves unending stomach"
The use of affectionate words such as "my love" or "beloved" have become second nature for the two, more friendly teasing seeing as there was no romantic relationship between the two of them, though they haven't attempted any romantic pursuals yet. No, the two were simply creatures that became best friends extremely fast due to what Koneko saw as an unexplained "click" between them. Sebastian had a feeling of what it could be however, the saying "broken gravitates towards the more broken" was a common thing in the Seline Unit after going through the training and modifications required, it was even how people chose the division leader they would work under as they looked for the leader they clicked with the most.
Sebastian didn't even have to watch DxD to be able to tell Koneko was almost as broken as he was when he first placed in the Seline Unit, her dull eyes as if she saw everything in muted colors, the tell-tale ways he could see she was never relaxed unless she was around certain people, how she could give that slight smile while not knowing she was completely relaxed around him, and yet would stiffen the moment she sensed the tiny magical signatures of their human classmates in close proximity to them. Sebastian doubted Rias Gremory even had the observational skills to notice something like that, it seemed that the girl had never even attempted creating a comfort zone for her, Koneko just seemed to learn to hide her trauma better over the years. At least she had managed to somewhat form a strained comfort zone during her time in Rias' Peerage, though how comforting it could be was up for debate.
'You have had Koneko under your guidance since you were a child, and you would have me comprehend that the girl before me produced a façade that has fooled you, an heiress, for years? Rias-Hime, you have made respecting you more and more of an unlikely reality' The reincarnate voiced what he could not speak aloud, he cared too much about Koneko to debase the person that had taken her in –even if she was given as a pet if he remembered was correctly– and cared for her.
Sebastian gave a heavy sigh, a large trail of smoke passing through his lips with the action, and opened an eye to see his "beloved" peering at his cigarette-but-not-really-a-cigarette with flickering annoyance as he let out another long stream of mint scented smoke that twisted and twirled in the air as it slowly dissipated into thin air. With a burst of speed –obvious application of her devil enhancements— the girl snatched the cigarette from his lips, eliciting a surprised flutter of his eyes as he watched her crush it in her hand before throwing it away behind her.
"They aren't healthy, stop using them" she stated with a blunt tone that failed at masking the irritation and honest concern that danced in her eyes as she looked into his surprised cat-like pupils that were similar with her own –when she let her Nekomata traits show of course.
His surprised expression soon melted back into its lazy half-lidded state, yet it was obvious to anyone that his purple eyes held an unending fondness for the girl in front of him. Sebastian could never contend with such eyes, especially since they were showing concern for him of all people. Eyes that remined him of his sister whenever he came home with a blanker look in his eyes than was usual for him, except the one directed towards him from Koneko seemed to hold more meaning than the one he received from his sister with the gleam of familial love underlying it.
Koneko had brought up her dislike of his use of his specially crafted cigarettes, even when he had explained that it would cause zero harm to him or long lasting repercussions upon his lungs. It was annoying at first when she started snatching them away and crushing them, yet it had become an endearing occurrence whenever he forgot to remove the object. Sebastian, however, still felt the need to get her back occasionally for the girl destroying one of his forms of relaxation. Flicking his eyes to another direction and widening them for his target to whip her head to the direction, Sebastian shot forward and planted a peck just close enough to her lips to be felt yet also pass as a rush of the wind. The teens cat-like eyes danced with mischievous satisfaction as he stood up and carefully brushed grass of the back of his pants.
"It is approaching time for our last classes of the day, my beloved. Do me the honor of allowing me to leads us to our remaining classes?" he spoke, turning around and offering his blushing beloved his hand.
Koneko, with her left hand covering the spot of his kiss and an intense blush, nodded meekly and entangled her hand in his own. Koneko was applying a rather large amount of strength that would crush a humans hand –the keywords being humans hand– with the grip strength behind it, the reincarnate enjoyed seeing her so flustered and had a rather durable body, so he decided to remain silent about such a thing. The teen allowed himself to squeeze her hand slightly as he guided her while she started to fall out of her flustered state, taking joy in the fact that she unconsciously squeezed back.
'Hm, I just might fall for you if things continue like this, my Beloved Koneko'
[Judging the concepts of creation]
A miasma of Dark Matter twirled down the length of his arms in a constant stream, the stream coalescing in his upwards facing palms. The Matter under his control working in tandem with the information coming forth from his Structural Grasping provided from the weapons being scanned from his Reality Marble. The Matter in his palms shifted into the forms of the materials used to create the weapons he wanted, shifting back into their formless miasma once it knew all the required materials.
[Hypothesizing the basic structure]
True to the orders, the miasma in his palms grew and shifted its form into blades the length of his arms. The blades formed were indeed basic in structure, a simple outline of the weapons dimensions that was filled in with solidified miasma. He went over it with a critical eye, a flickering thought whipping away any imperfection that his Dark Matter had created as it immediately snapped into correcting itself in order to meet his expectations. Satisfied, the next step was soon ordered.
[Manifesting the composition material]
The outline of two falchions began to fill in immediately, materials similar in color –but he knew they were magnitudes better– to bronze filled in the guard, pommel, and handle, black leather tightly adhering itself to the handles of both blades. The falchion to his right became visible with a color similar to clouds, a yin yang symbol at the start of the blade with a black trail ending at a point some distance down the blade. The same process happened to the falchion on his left, but the color of the blade was a black that seemed to draw in the light around it, a red hexagonal pattern on the blade, the same yin yang symbol on the bottom with the trail being white instead.
The blades were truly dazzling to look at, the falchions attracting all attention in the workshop he resided in. The weapons had an undeniable beauty that left one speechless as they tried to comprehend the reason behind such beautiful weapons that were meant for warfare and bloodshed, yet he knew that one of the main aspects of the weapons beauty was the sense of kinship he felt with the purposeless weapons.
[Ingraining the skill of its making]
Within seconds, the blades had gained a magical attraction to one another, almost magnetic in terms of reference. He had already known of their ability to always come back to each other, but experiencing such a thing in reality was completely different than seeing such a thing. He also felt more than saw the blades grow the ability to cut through strong magical defenses –soon to be higher than mid-tier magic if he was correct with his theory.
[Sympathizing with the experience of its growth]
His mind was assaulted with the memories of hundreds of skilled warriors that had wielded the two weapons, yet only one stuck out the most to him; the memories of one Archer. The memories had been so comprehensive that he felt the Servants skill ingrain itself into his own mind, Mind's Eye (True) joining his ranks as he gained centuries worth of experience from Archer and hundreds of other warriors that had wielded the blades. The draconic teen could feel the instincts and skills being ingrained inside him, waiting to be shifted into becoming muscle memory once more with the dual falchions and their new wielder.
[Reproducing the accumulated years]
He felt the Noble Phantasm solidify as he neared the end of the process and its years of use empowered its existence and status as a weapon of legend, even if it was considered lower ranking in comparison to the other weapons in his Reality Marble that had enough power from their legend to destroy the world twice over.
[Excelling every manufacturing process]
The streams of miasma twirling down his arms increased in speed as more of it was drawn from his body and into the falchions before him, giving the energy needed in order to give the weapons power from their legend. With a flexing of his thoughts, he directed his Dark Matter to mix and upgrade the falchions ability to cut through magic defenses, feeling it take effect with high levels of success. Before he could search any further, his vision was blinded by a flash of his Dark Matter sharp as lightning as he gripped the completed Noble Phantasms and stood up.
[The Married Swords; Kanshou and Bakuya: Gān Jiàng and Mò Yé]
The falchions had remained the same except for his Dark Matter slowly flowing along the blades edge and trailing off the blade before dissipating back into thin air, all but confirming that he had indeed properly [Excelled] the [Manufacturing Process] when forging the ability to cut through magical defenses. Sebastian could probably cut through the magic of high-tier creatures without difficulty, yet he would have to test its effect on those above said tier.
"The Fallen Angels have entered the area, they might make their move soon. Kanshou, Bakuya, shall I give the two of you a test in a spar?"
Final Priority: Test usage of Unlimited Blade Works; 45% Complete
Dark Matter truly was a beautiful power, his status as the Dark Matter King made it similar to a child in his eyes –his child, to be exact. The semi-sentient power always aimed to gain his pleasure, reminding him of how Lilith's daughter –created via a drunken sexual encounter from before she had entered the Seline Unit and went through the procedure— had gained a bright eyed look and would crash into him with the loud shout of 'Daddy!'
When the girl had first called him as such, he had planned to correct her immediately, but then he saw the pure elation in her eyes. He had figured that the girl had remembered him from her baby years and simply assumed he was on a long winded trip, when she had babbled on asking how his trip was, why didn't he call, and what not, he confirmed his suspicions.
Sebastian had later chatted with Lilith about it, simply suggesting they just let the girl continue to believe him her father, he would in turn increase how often he came over. Lilith was overall okay with it, seeing as she trusted him to be a good father-figure for her daughter.
Tightening his grip on the married blades, Sebastian allowed his training to take hold of the building emotions in his head and shut them down. The girl –her name was Marigold, but he had started referring to her as 'girl' for a pet name, lazy and unoriginal, he knew, yet endearing to him all the same— would ultimately be distraught at the news of his death, yet he had to ensure his survival in this extremely dangerous, and ecchi –though perhaps God had changed that, considering that sexual or hinting at it had not happened to him yet?—, world. That is why Sebastian would have to save the Protagonist of this world, use the debt owed by the Gremory girl, and solidify his position as Royalty in the underworld and his placement in plot.
Exhaling a large hail of smoke, Sebastian allowed his Dark Matter to exit his body and create an exact copy of himself. The technique was one of the first things he attempted with his Dark Matter, the clone was fully capable of independent thought and action, yet could also be controlled similar to the Six Paths of Pain when he so decided. The clone was only slightly weaker than him, it could only survive a handful of hits before it dissolved and the Dark Matter returned back to him. He suspected that with time his clones would be able to last as long as he wanted before dismissing them, but he had resolved himself to having Kage Bunshin for the time being.
With one last exhale of smoke, Sebastian allowed the cigarette to fall to the ground and clashed blades with his clone, sparks flying around as the clone did the same. Moving half a step backward and twisting his body, Sebastian forced his clone to quickly duck under the decapitating blow from Kanshou. Bakuya came in front of his chest and allowed him to block the double stab sent towards him as he slid away from the force of the blow. While he regained his footing, the clone dashed forward with a burst of –instinctually applied– reinforced speed.
Bakuya went in an arc and parried the same blade from his counterpart, Sebastian moved with the motion as he twisted around and sent a roundhouse kick towards his clones chest, feeling his feet connect with two crossed blades as the clone was sent flying off their feet and backwards. The clone flipped in mid-air and landed in a crouch before standing up and entering back into a ready stance, silently stating the continuance of the battle. Sebastian obliged by shooting forward.
Bakuya shot forward and was parried downward by Kanshou, he followed by twisting into a crouch and bringing both blades up in a double slash that was dodged by the clone rolling backward then dashing towards him. Bakuya parried Kanshou in a brilliant display of sparks, an opposing Bakuya was dodged by Sebastian leaning so far backwards his head was vertical to the ground whilst he was still standing. He reeled back upwards and slashed out with his own Kanshou, the clone hopped upwards and performed a sideways axel that allowed it to land and shoot forward again.
Sebastian twisted around his rushing counterpart and sent Bakuya arcing down for a slash towards their back, the clone swung his own Bakuya to meet Sebastian's as they orientated themselves to be facing one another. He flipped Kanshou into a reverse grip that raised to his side in just enough time to block his black falchions counterpart. The two were locked with sparks flying around their clashing blades as they both fought for dominance, easily ignoring the fact that they were similar in strength.
Applying reinforcement with familiar –yet unfamiliar– ease, Sebastian's clone was only slightly later in their application of the magic, yet that was enough time for the lock to no longer be equal and to force the clone to dash away. Sebastian pressed the momentary advantage, using the clones off footing to send his falchions in a cross towards the off-guard clone.
His counterpart still managed to bring both blades up in a –sloppy– reverse gripped block that allowed for it to block the more critical damage, but still resulted in him hitting the ground with enough force to make their reinforced body hack out a glob of saliva. The clone didn't let itself get caught up in pain however, throwing Kanshou at him and using the now free hand to enter a handspring that allowed him to land in a crouch.
Sebastian parried the falchion turned Buzzsaw, allowing the blade to return to the clones hand and waiting for the clone to stand back up. Sebastian wanted to perform the killing blow in the duel of blades, performing it while his counterpart was down ultimately defeated the purpose of this match however; to grow as accustomed as possible to Kanshou and Bakuya before ending the fight.
'I'm gaining the experience faster than the clone, it is only a slight difference however. Another disadvantage of the clone perhaps? It won't pose as a hindrance currently, but if their comes a time I have to use a new weapon while in control of a clone…' Sebastian shook away the though as he focused back on his clone that blasted towards him.
It was only through the usage of Mind's Eye (True) that Sebastian knew to send a reverse griped Bakuya to his side, blocking the slashing blade coming towards him. The clone once again blasted away, Sebastian entered a frenzy of defense as his skill allowed him to block the high speed attacks just in time to avoid injury.
Sebastian barely took a second to understand what was happening, the clone realized the same thing he had and compensated by increasing its speed! Sebastian couldn't mount any form of offensive with the clone giving him little time to allow reinforcement to increase his speed, his current speed and the experience of more than a thousand years was the only thing allowing him the ability to block in time.
Sebastian blinked as he realized that he was thinking of only using reinforcement magecraft for assistance, the teen had a more powerful alternative literally acting as his blood for such enhancements. A flickering command allowed the Matter to enhance him quicker than his recently gained proficiency with reinforcement, allowing him to finally follow the movements of his clone.
He turned and parried an incoming slash with Bakuya, the clone simply altered their movement, performing sharp turns to come from a different direction without any loss in speed. The best reference to such a thing would be the movements of Zenitsu when performing more than one Thunderclap and Flash. Sebastian distractedly noted to himself to see if he could trace the blade from memory or if he would have to simply wait until he entered the Kimetsu no Yaiba World.
The agents body flipped over the clones Kanshou that had been planning to bifurcate him, the angle allowed him to glance the clones back with a reverse griped Bakuya that drew Dark Matter colored blood through the reinforcement. Sebastian landed and immediately entered a triple side axle that allowed him to dodge the duel slash that came a mere second later, allowing him to note that the increased pressure and reliance on the unexpectedly ingrained skill was making the muscle memory of Archer come faster than before.
Sebastian dropped to the ground and spun his leg, tripping his clone whose body was moving to fast to dodge in time. His counterpart flowed with the trip and front flipped into a crouched standing position, turning around just in time to block the Bakuya that was only a couple inches from decapitating him. His own Bakuya was blocked barely halfway towards Sebastian's own neck, the clone looked at him and acknowledged the newly created difference in skill with a nod. The clone then began sinking back into him as miasma, fading away and entering back into his body where it had originated from.
All in all, the spar had gone mostly according to Sebastian's mental play out. The clone was directly similar in experience to him, both started off with similar capabilities in terms of handling Kanshou and Bakuya, yet there was a only a slight difference in how fast the experience was gathered that dictated the match. The only reason the match ended so quickly was because the clones increase in speed had forced him to rely on Mind's Eye(True), the skill in turn had him subconsciously run through the experience stored in his head and adapt to them quicker than before. Sebastian had never been capable of those flips and movements before, he had the necessary flexibility to perform such moves of course, but had never been able to execute the movements that quickly –yes, he was ignoring the fact that such movements had no right in modern world combat situations.
Sebastian allowed the married blades to turn back into miasma, twirling up his arm and sinking into his body after going under his shirt. The teen had barely felt winded throughout the battle even though he had performed some pretty strenuous maneuvers, his draconic soul seemed to be showing one of its benefits if his stamina levels were any indication. The teen performed a decompression workout to lose the remaining adrenaline and out of habit from his previous years, getting lost in memories of his time in the Seline Unit, his teammates, spars, and other things that he refused to sully with his grief. He crushed down his emotions, returning him to his persona as he formed his special made cigarettes and blew out a long drawl of smoke.
"Kanshou and Bakuya should be enough paired with the experience I just gained and Mind's Eye(True) for facing Raynare-San, and Kalawarner-San. I can not quite bring myself to kill Mittelt however." His tone was far from the lazy, and light, dignified tone he had spoke in, his current tone was lacking anything resembling human, even the supernatural might of felt unnerved were they to hear him speak and see his look, yet somehow keeping that dignified manner to it.
Upon entering the Selene unit, all members had gone through the procedure; through the use of phycological torture, Nano-technology, and implantation, recruits had their brain rewired, physical and mental processes enhanced, and personality installations. The entire process took over three to four months to condition the recruit for the Selene Unit's trainers to begin giving them the advanced training in all necessary areas for their job. One of the advanced training courses was the more…sour use of ones understanding of physcology –including the application of emotional mimicry to where even others in the Selene Unit would struggle to tell if one of their own was actually feeling the demanded emotion.
That's not to say that those in the Selene Unit could not feel emotion, it was just that they were not taught how to find the mental 'switch' that allowed them to feel those emotions on a more human level until a long time into their career. Sebastian was lucky in this regard, his mothers past with the unit allowed him to gain the switch only a year into his service as a commander of his own squadron. He had his emotions suppressed more often than not, the only exception being his time with Koneko, since his emotional mimicry skill was at the A rank, enough for him to believe he could trick some supernatural with it as well.
Sebastian shook himself free of his more than memorable entry into the Selene Unit, moving towards his bed and focusing on how to deal with the only Fallen Angel he could not figure out how to handle: Mittelt.
It was not that Sebastian himself could not kill the Lolita of a Fallen Angel, he could easily make her death painless or agonizing as if she was responsible for the death of millions. No, the problem Sebastian was dealing with when it came to Mittelt was that his sister rather liked the girl, and that like was probably the only thing causing the King of Dark Matter any form of perplexation in his planning of his first true debut in this world.
Should he spare her life and allow her to return to Azazel? He scraped that idea faster than he could reload his rifle -one point three five seconds- the moment his enhanced mind thought it up. Azazel was the Governor General of the Fallen Angels, it was one of the few things he truly remembered of the show, his training from the Selene Unit forcing him to register high-tier personnel. He could barely remember anything else from that, he had numbed his brain to get through watching the wannabe hentai –though his moderate interest in the plot, animation, and story of Redo of a Healer was not any better— so he could barely remember the plot line, and Sebastian in no way expected this world to be quote for quote with the anime he "watched" with his sister. The main reason behind that idea was the rather large standing change in lore that came about from his entry into the world.
Sebastian absolutely could not allow Mittelt to be returned to Azazel, no matter how the man acted he was still a leader, he would force information about his abilities from the Lolita. He would need to have the backing of being the next King of the Underworld before he could start making moves that would make his status of someone wielding the power used by both Lucifer and Yahweh even remotely speculated. He most certainly had the weaponry, firepower, and just power in general to defeat those of the Grigori, but his body was quite lacking in durability. Atleast, he assumed he had the power to take down some of the more high-tier members of Grigori, he had yet to analyze the strength of the more high profile people within DxD, so perhaps he should temper his confidence before he had more information –and substantial power backimg— to work with.
Even with his reinforcement and immortality from his domain, it would matter little if his head was destroyed before he could have his Dark Matter to shield or heal him. He had yet to set the stage within his territory, letting Mittelt return to the leader of the Fallen Faction was off the table.
The teen then had a light –metaphorically— go off in his enhanced mind; Mittelt could have the punishment of being his first servant –though it wouldn't really be a punishment considering he would be rather nice to her— instead of returning to Grigori. The Lolita would probably agree as well, seeing as he her status as a Fallen Angel would allow her to recognize the power of their creator, and the Grigori –potentially read as Azazel— would give her the death penalty since she would be the last remaining defector of Raynare's little group. It would be the only logical outcome if the Factions were run how he thought them to be, and he remembered that Azazel had a interest in keeping the strenuous peace between all three Factions, something Sebastian could possibly exploit if he meets Azazel before his Apotheosis –arrogant he knew, but it was technically the right term.
Sebastian grimaced slightly as he moved onto the next person that would remain alive after his debut; Issei Hyoudou. Sebastian was not truly a emotive person when it came down to it, he fit more into the calm and composed archetype, preferring to go through his choices and opinions before doing anything. Yet the mere existence of Issei Hyoudou irked him to no end, the pervert had no right to even hold the Boosted Gear –yes, it was his disgust from remembering that he broke through his limits with the Boosted Gear over the mere chance of touching boobs.
Sebastian did not truly have a problem with the perversions of Issei, it was the fact that he wasted the potential of the Boosted Gear every single time, and him drawing the affection of Koneko also posed as another form of ire. His more draconic instincts became possessive of Koneko when he thought of her falling in love with Issei of all people, yet also sympathized with the pain Ddraig went through, forcing him to reinforce the cage he used to hold his emotions, allowing him to focus back on the question that kept popping up in his mind:
What purpose would Issei Hyoudou serve alive in Sebastian's DxD?
The answer came rather quickly, enough to surprise Sebastian with how quick it approached the forefront of his mind. Issei Hyoudou had the potential to be a worthy member if his Peerage if his perversion was beaten out of him, it minimized the chance that Sebastian would end up with a harem –he was a red-blooded male, but he refused to deal with seven or more girls wanting his affection everyday. Their beauty could only move him so far, especially considering he was likely to only have one girl, two if he truly wanted it.
Indeed, Issei would continue to live, become Sebastians Peerage Member, and have his perversion beaten down to acceptable levels. Sebastian would make it so, Issei's reward would be gaining his own harem, achieving power, and the realization of his full potential –no member of his Peerage would be known as the "Oppai Dragon" or whatever he was called in canon, his draconic nature bristled at the insult to his species Issei had created in canon— as "The Red Dragon Emperor," Servant to the King of the Underworld. Besides, if his attempts failed, Sebastian would assimilate Issei and bestow Ddraig upon someone more worthy, it was the least he could do for killing his fellow Dragons host.
'I suppose that I only have a week before the Fallen make their move, I should use that time to continue training Kanshou and Bakuya to maximize my chances of victory. I have solidified two members of my Peerage already, perhaps I should take Koneko and Grafiya as well? I can always appease Rias and Sirzechs by removing the marriage between Phenex and Gremory. More to consider later, perhaps when I can actually do what I want without repercussions'
Done with his mental query, Sebastian allowed himself to let his mind wonder and ride the flow of Dark Matter within his body. His body was still that of a human –albeit holding a draconic soul— so it of course needed rest, but his mind was truly not in need of sleep in any capacity, causing him to use the time his body rested to familiarize his mind with the Dark Matter that flowed through, entertaining his children while gaining a deeper awareness and understanding of it –for was it not wasteful to have immense power yet sloppy control?
The week passed by in this fashion, –spending time with Koneko, training himself with wielding Kanshou and Bakuya, and gaining a deeper control and understanding of Dark Matter— seemingly in a flash. Sebastians eyes opened from their closed state, his purple eyes swirling with traces of Dark Matter, his feline pupils showing a predator on the hunt as he locked his sharpened canines.
"The time of the Hunt has come"
