All her life, Belle had longed for adventure; to find a place where she could fit in, make friends. True, she had not gotten exactly what she wanted in the end, but that is what life is like. So here she was, living in a magnificent castle deep in the wilderness, married to the love of her life and surrounded by many wonderful friends. She could not have been happier, but little did she know that such happiness would not last long. Sinister forces were gathering nearby, preparing to attack. It all started when Belle's sister-in-law Princess Ella had discovered the truth of her identity, thus vowing revenge before disappearing into the woods, never to be seen again. Ella's fiancé Prince Jacques, along with her brother Prince Adrien and cousin-sister Princess Aurora, had spent months searching for the young woman, determined to get her back and beg for her forgiveness. But their efforts were for naught, since Ella clearly did not want to be found. Having given up on the search, the three royals returned to their homes and went on with their lives as best they could. In fact, today was the day that they would finally put the past behind them, and celebrate a happy occasion. It was Belle and Adrien's first wedding anniversary, and they had invited all their friends and family to the castle to celebrate. All the guests had finally arrived, and joyous music filled the magnificent ballroom as everyone made their way to the dance floor. Belle watched happily as the people around her either danced, or stood around eating and conversing with each other. But as she looked around the room, her heart began to ache. There was one person whom Belle wished were here, as she knew that she would have loved such a lively event. Suddenly, the young woman's thoughts were interrupted by the ballroom windows slamming open. A gust of wind blew in, turning the room dark. A mysterious cloaked figure then stepped out of the shadows of the balcony and into the moonlight that shone through the open window. People inside screamed in terror at the sight of the intruder. Noticing that the figure was slowly heading towards her, Belle held her breath, shivering in fear. Just as suddenly as the ballroom had descended into darkness, it lit up again, illuminating the faces of all the terrified guests. Catching sight of her husband amongst the crowd, Belle ran towards him, eager to get as far away from the sinister being as possible. " What is the matter, Belle?" The figure spoke in an eerily familiar female voice. "Are you so afraid of me that your courage goes away and you have to hide behind a man? That is not the brave, beloved sister-in-law that I knew." She said in a mocking tone. " Sister-in-law?' Belle muttered to herself, wracking her brain in trying to figure out what the woman meant. Then it hit her; " Ella?" She gasped in disbelief. " Ella?" Adrien shot an incredulous look towards his wife. The woman cackled as she pulled down her hood to reveal herself. " Yes, dear brother." She replied insincerely. "It is me. Though as you can see I have changed quite a bit since we last saw one another. I am no longer the sweet, innocent, loving girl whom you tried to call sister. In fact... that is precisely why I am here. It is quite fortuitous that the very people whom I wished to see are here tonight. " Prince Jacques! Princess Aurora! Come here where I can see you!" She demanded, her fierce voice echoing across the ballroom. The two named people tentatively stepped through the crowd until they were standing beside Adrien and Belle, at long last facing the woman they had longed to see again.
