Still Don't own Re:Zero, Fate or HxH

"I'm alive, that damn... that woman," I muttered as I stared at the ground. How? I'm pretty sure I've already died twice and now I have been brought back to life again. That woman... was extremely dangerous. She was quick, slitting my throat and stomach before I could say Gae Bolg. I began to break out in a cold sweat, wondering if this was the start of something far worse. What should I do now?

"I'm alive?" When I looked up, Subaru was staring at his stomach for a split second before gritting out something incompressible. Hmm, I want that bitch dead for murdering me. Maybe, just maybe, if I hadn't been exhausted from keeping Gae Bolg out all day, I could have killed her. But who says I have to do this alone? I could find a knight who has been better trained to deal with situations like this.

I looked back at Subaru and decided to get his attention. It seems like he was busy with whatever self-monologue he was doing. That gives me the perfect chance to make a cool entrance. I quietly picked myself up and snuck behind him before placing my hand on his shoulder.

"It looks like we're both alive." I said in a calm voice, disguising my nervousness.

"Woah, Alex, you are alive!" He shouted in excitement at the fact he was not alone.

"Guess I am alive, so what are you going to do?"

He had a determined expression on his face. "I'm going to save Lia."

Normally, I would avoid involving children in my plans, but from the look on his face, he would try even if I tried to stop him, although his intentions are nobler than mine. Save Lia, that's cute. Like a knight in shining armor, you come to the rescue of a princess in distress. But I'm not going to run into that shack and die like the last time. If we are to save Lia and exact my revenge, we must devise a strategy.

"I see, if that's the case, I have an idea."

"You do? So, what's the game plan? "

"Simply put, we'll take the same route as before, except this time we'll split up before we meet those thugs in the alley. I need you to keep the thugs at bay, so have Lia and Puck assist you. "

"Wait, wait, wait, what are you going to do? Because I- we would have been destroyed if it hadn't been for your cool powers. " Subaru stated.

Subaru, you're right, I underestimated you a little. I smirked at him before proceeding, "I was just about to say that I'd find a knight to take down that woman. Just hold off the thugs until Lia and Puck arrive, and don't get surrounded before then, as we did last time. "

"All right, but you owe me because I'm acting as thug bait." Subaru said with a scowl, attempting to intimidate me, before bursting out laughing.

"Actually, we're even because you got us into this mess, but being thug bait allows you to spend quality time with Lia without me 4th wheeling." I chuckled with delight.

"I guess."

"While you're with Lia, follow the same path we took last time, and I'll be at that shack with the knight before you arrive." The knight will take care of the woman, and I guess I'll leave the thief to him. The situation will be resolved by the time you arrive with Lia and Puck.

"That sounds like a plan, just don't die bro." Subaru said while offering a fist bump.

"I don't intend to." I said while giving that fist bump.

"Excuse me, sir. Do you know where I can find a knight? " I asked a man with red hair and a fancy-looking sword.

"Well, actually, I'm a knight, just off duty right now, so what is the problem?" He replied.

Is this man strong enough to defeat that woman? There is only one way to find out.

"There is a dangerous woman in the slums who was seen near a thief's loot house." I hoped he wouldn't ask how I knew or if she was there or not right now.

"In that case, could you point me in the right direction? There are many loot houses in that area, so I'll need someone to point me in the right direction. " He responded.

"Of course, I can take you there." I replied. I was going to go there anyway to meet with Subaru.

"My name is Reinhard, and I'm here to lend you my strength." Reinhard proposed

"Alex," I took his hand in mine and gave him

We passed the time by making small talk as we made our way through the city to the loot house. I learned some mundane facts about him, such as the fact that he was an Astrea and that he was a royal knight, not just any old regular knight. In exchange, I gave my family name and stated that I was only a traveller for the time being. To be honest, Reinhard wasn't a bad guy; he was a little self-deprecating at times, but he seemed like someone I'd want to hang out with at a bar. In fact, if he takes out that harlot and if I had some spare change, I wouldn't mind buying him a beer.

"A traveler? I wish I could travel the world freely every now and then, "he replied.

"That's unfortunate..."

"It's fine really," he said sadly.

"Well, looks like we are here." I pointed at the loot house. The sun was only beginning to set, so we had a bit of time before that woman made an appearance.

"Do you mind if I grab a weapon?" I asked the knight just in case there was some law that prevented people from handling weapons.

"If this woman is as dangerous as you make her out to be, go ahead and take one. While I'm fighting, my meager strength may not be able to protect you. " Reinhard responded.

"Alright then, please don't freak out," I say, holding out my palm, and Crazy Slots reappears in front of me.

Crazy Slots yelled "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 1" before turning into a revolver.

Scenes and flashes from Billy the kid's life flashed through my mind, providing me with the fundamentals of operating the Thunderer. Yes, this may be a better weapon for dealing with that woman; I can shoot from a safe distance away from her dangerous knives.

"Hmm, another bad roll," I muttered to annoy the clown.

"Why do I have to keep explaining to you there are no bad rolls!" Crazy Slots said.

"So it doesn't feel like a spirit art user, it feels like something else. So, what kind of weapon is it?" Reinhard inquired. I guess that proves Crazy Slots isn't a spirit. Is my Crazy Slots a nen hatsu, or perhaps mana? Questions to be answered later.

"It's a revolver, and it shoots projectiles faster than an arrow," I said.

"What an interesting weapon; it makes me feel better knowing you have something to protect yourself while I deal with this assassin." Reinhard grinned.

"Of course, I don't want to be a liability." I responded.

"If anything, Alex, I'm the liability," he said.

Reinhard knocked on the door a few times before a small peek hole appeared and closed. The door was opened a few seconds later.

"Master Swordsman? How can I help you today." The old giant man said.

"Well, my friend Alex here told me that a dangerous woman was lurking around this area, so do you mind if we stay a little longer at your place to keep an eye on this area?" Reinhard explained everything with ease.

"Of course, I'm happy to assist; just don't make a mess of this place." Before letting us in, the giant shrugged.

"Would you like something to drink?" Rom proposed to the two of us.

"No, thank you; I'd rather be lucid when she arrives," I replied.

"I'd have to agree with my friend Alex, but maybe another time when things aren't quite so dangerous." Reinhard spoke up.

"Suit yourself," Rom said, pouring himself a cup.

A soft knocking on the door quickly alerted us. And I started to grip my gun in anticipation.

"Let me go see who it is" Rom said.

"For a rat!"

"Poison"

"For a whale!"

"A Harpoon"

"To the noble dragon lord?"

"We are bags of shit"

Rom opened the door, and a teenage girl with short blonde hair and red eyes dashed in and quickly hugged the giant. Felt was the thief who stole Lia's insignia.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting, Old Man, but my targets were tenacious. Who are these schmucks, Old Man?" She directed her finger at us.

"That's a bit rude." I muttered to myself while Reinhard was trying his hardest not to look embarrassed.

"Oh, those two are knights who are staying here until they capture some dangerous woman," he explained to felt.

"So if that's all... Are you interested in any of my wares?" she asked us?

"Not really, we just came to apprehend a dangerous woman who my friend Alex had informed me about." Reinhard replied.

"Can I actually see what you got today?" I inquired.

"No can do unless you can beat 10 Holy coins. The item I received is reserved for a client, and even if you did well, I would like to hear the counter offer." She replied with a wink.

"I see," I said quietly.

"So, if you're Alex, who are you?" Felt asked Reinhard.

"Felt," she responded.

Another knock on the door refocused me and Reinhard on the task at hand.

"The password"

"I probably didn't mention it to them," she admitted to Rom before turning to face us, "relax you two, that's probably just my client."

"Are we really that obvious?" I didn't ask anyone in particular.

"The Swordmaster looks calm but you, on the other hand, have quite a scary look on your face," Rom pointed out.

"Really?"

"Sorry, Alex but Rom is right." Reinhard answered back.

"I'm sorry, I'll make a better effort to conceal my emotions," I apologized.

"Ehh, just don't scare away the client," Rom said, picking up his club.

"Yes, I was right; it was for me." Felt stated.

That was her, of course, as stunning as ever in a daring gown and a breathtaking face. To be honest, she's the type of girl I'd try to get a date with, but in this case, I'd be content with her dead or rotting in a jail cell for eternity.

I looked at Reinhard and he gave me a nod.

"My my who are these outsiders?" She asked.

"There-"

"Please surrender, you're under arrest," Reinhard stated.

Rom and Felt were speechless and a bit shocked at the revelation that we were here to arrest/kill their client.

"Oh what for?"

"Yeah, what's the big deal!" Felt yelled.

"Hmph, this woman is a murderer plain and simple; I once witnessed her slitting a poor man's throat and gut at the same time." I stated unequivocally. Yeah, that happened to me the last time, and I'm sure she killed a lot of other people as well, so let's hope everyone assumes I saw a previous murder because I'm not interested in explaining time loops. I drew my revolver and pointed it in the general direction of the woman. If Reinhard fails, a bullet should do the trick.

"You saw that?" She spoke slyly. "In that case, I should clean up my mess, but if the sword saint wants to dance first, hehe."

"There is no mistaking those characteristics: black hair, black clothes, and a blade that is unique to the northern provinces. Elsa Granhiert, you are the bowel hunter. " Reinhard said.

"I guess that explains why she gutted people, the Bowel hunter, makes sense." I commented.

"The bowel hunter, Felt you picked up the worst job possible." Rom grumbled.

"Yeah yeah, no need to rub it in." she pouted off to the side.

"Ah, Reinhard, a true knight among knights from the line of master swordsmen. It's amazing how much fun all of my opponents are." As a whiff of bloodlust began to permeate the air, she commented. She threw off her coat and took out a knife. She then assumed a feral posture, as if she were a snake waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Alex, please stand off to the side."

"Are you sure, she seems like a tough opponent?" I responded.

"Trust me, Alex, I specialize in defeating strong opponents," he said reassuringly.

"Fine, but I'll help you if you need it," I said as I approached Felt and Rom.

"Thank you, Alex, and hopefully I didn't take up too much of your time, Bowel Hunter."

"Take as much time as you need; I enjoy it when my prey plan my demise right before I gut them." She cracked a grin.

After a few short exchanges, Reinhard used an ability that looked at the standard Saber Lazer beam and demolished half the building, and there was no sign of Elsa.

"That was impressive." I commented in shock.

"Thanks-"

"You gorilla, could you at least. keep the damage to the bare minimum. " Felt piped up.

"Sorry, about that." Reinhard said in embarrassment.

"Um, is this a bad time?" Subaru pushed through the partially destroyed door, causing what remained of it to collapse. "Ugh, oops my bad, yo Alex how it going?"

"Alright, just another day."

Subaru was quickly followed by Lia.

"So do you know him, Alex?" Reinhard asked.

"Yeah, that's Subaru?" I replied.

"A friend, Alex, is a friend of mine. Hello, my name is Reinhard van Astrea, and it's a pleasure to meet you." Before addressing Lia, Reinhard shook his hand. "How are you doing, Lady Emilia?"

Emilia? I guess Lia was just a nickname Puck gave her.

"Sir Reinhard, I'm fine; all I want is to reclaim what was stolen from me." She explained, her gaze fixed on Felt.

"Felt, return it; today is a lesson in not accepting contracts from shady people," Rom sighed. To be honest, he appeared to be sick of this nonsense.

"Fine," she grumbled, acknowledging that today had been a flop.

"See Lia, told you I could help you find insignia." Subaru said while doing a ridiculous pose.

"I never doubted you?" Emilia pouted.

"Wait really."

"You seemed very sincere, so I couldn't help but trust you," she said with a straight face, which only added to her cuteness. Subaru's face flushed and she appeared embarrassed.

"If you keep saying things like that, Emilia, you're going to give someone a heart attack." Subaru stated exaggeratedly.

"That is absurd-" Emilia was interupted when felt tapped her shoulder to get her attention

"Here you go, nothing personal." Felt said as she handed back the Insignia.

I turned to Reinhard as she handed the insignia back to Emilia and said, "Looks like All's Well That Ends Well... ehh Reinhard."

Reinhard was fixated on Felt "This can't be." Reinhard went up to Felt and grabbed her arm.

"Hey let go, you're hurting me." Felt said as she to break free from Reinhard's grip.

"Swordmaster what are you doing!" Rom the Giant said.

"Yeah, Reinhard explain" Subaru yelped out.

"What's your family name and age?" Reinhard asked Felt.

"I don't know and 15ish" Felt exclaimed.

"Alex, please excuse me, but this is a matter of grave importance"

"No, but this must be addressed," Reinhard said reassuringly.

"Well, as long as she's not in trouble." Rom shrugged.

"Old Man Rom!" Felt gave him a look of betrayal.

"Haha, Felt go with the Swordmaster, if he says something is important it's probably important." He said, as a matter of fact, before smirking, "Plus you could probably guilt him into giving you some money."

"Your right, Reinhard was it, you owe 10 gold coins for wasting my time." Felt smirk.

"Ugh." Reinhard was dumbstruck by the turn of events.

"Just go with Reinhard, it's easier like that." I deadpanned.

"You are correct, Alex; ten gold coins are well worth avoiding the disaster that would occur if I did not take her." Reinhard responded.

"Say, Emilia?" Subaru asked, getting her attention

"Hmm"

"I was wondering-"

"Subaru watch out!" Reinhard yelled out as a black blur approached Subaru and Emilia.

Subaru pushed Emilia out of the way and picked up a shield in self-defense, I pulled out the revolver and fired a shot at the Serial Killer, and Reinhard was on the move to intercept her.

In an instant, more blood splattered on the floor, and a bullet ripped through one of Elsa's arms. Elsa jumped back onto what remained of the roof as she dodged an attack from Reinhard.

"My my what-" Elsa was silenced before she could say anything substantive and made a hasty retreat as another bullet grazed her.

"Damn it, she got away" I muttered to myself as I dismissed the Thunderer. At least you will have a bullet for the trouble. But the fact that I actually hit her though was simply pure luck though.

"I'll make sure to notify the royal guards to keep an eye out for her," Reinhard stated solemnly, as if he had no intention of pursuing her himself.

Wait, why is he putting off pursuing her? Is it due to Felt? What was the big deal about Felt? That famous swordsman Reinhard would not pursue Elsa? When I puzzledly looked at Reinhard, he responded with a guilty smile before taking off with Felt.

When I looked at Subaru, he appeared to be in good health, and no one else appeared to be in any danger. But the next time I see Elsa, I'll make certain that bullet hits its target.

"So Emilia"

"You dunderhead what you did was dangerous and-,"

"I'm just happy you are okay" Subaru confessed.

"What, don't say things you don't mean to say." She replied.

"I'm not lying, seeing you in one piece, smiling, made my day." Subaru countered.

"Well, thank you for saving Subaru," Emilia said as her cheeks turned red.

Damn... he works fast.

"Helping you around calls for a reward." Subaru boldly proclaimed.

Never mind... he ruined it.

"Yes it does, but keep in mind that I'm not in the position to give out rewards."

"Can I have let and my friend has a place a stay? We really have nowhere else to stay. " Subaru asked.

I wanted to facepalm my face because he's making us sound like freeloaders. I mean we are, but still, it's a matter of pride.

"Alright, you two can stay with me for a while. It is the least I could do to repay you." Emilia smiled serenely.

"Well, if that's settled, yo Rom do you have beer left?"

"You got any money?" Rom responded.

"Nope" I replied.

"Well this one is on me, honestly at this rate, this city is going to get me killed" he chuckled before pouring me a cup.

"Yeah, I feel you." I replied as Subaru and Emilia continued to talk.
