That night Amy stayed with Sally Acorn's palace with the girls as the guys were trying to calm Shadow from going after Sonic and kill the bastard, keeping the TV and radio off and making sure that Amy didn't hear any negative reports about her and how she pushed Sonic to be with her when it was Sonic who made the first move. Amy knew from experience that if she pushed her attentions on Sonic the faster he ran from her, Amy Rose had grown up and fought by Sonic and his team as well as prove herself as an able fighter and leader.

Despite the things she did on her own initiative and Amy was treated like she was still twelve years old and the same girl that chased her hero that needed saving from Eggman instead of the eighteen year old adult she had become. Everyone that didn't know Amy believed that Amy was the one who forced Sonic into a relationship and pressured him into marrying her, it was relief that the blue blur figured out the pink nuisance's manipulations and left when the going was good.

Sally wanted to keep Amy from watching the news as Blaze, Cream and Rouge kept the pink hedgehog occupied while reporters were stationed outside the palace walls in their vans wanting glimpses of the rejected bride. The girls were more concerned about Amy as she hadn't said a word or shed a tear since leaving the church;- she didn't even acknowledge her surroundings and just felt numb not reacting to anyone.

The sukura coloured hedgehog just wanted to be alone and was getting tired of Cream telling her everything would turn out all right and Sonic would make things ok between them. Right now she didn't need the sweet rabbit girl of fourteen to talk about the hedgehog who left her at the altar and didn't really want to shout at her, taking a deep breath and sadly smiled over her shoulder politely told Cream she needed to be by herself at the moment. Taking the hint Cream sadly smiled and wished she could hug Amy's pain away, but there are just things that couldn't be fixed that easily.

Speeding towards Metal City and towards Clara Rayne's apartment, this was it Sonic was finally free and even closer to confess his feelings. Ever since meeting Clara she was all he could think of and knew that he broke Amy's heart by leaving, but she would understand when it comes to love and you couldn't control how you feel. Once he told Clara of his love for her he and the love of his life could leave for adventures and be able to get rid of Willow Anne Fox as she was always clinging onto his girl;- finally reaching his destination he knocked on the door with a bunch of white roses behind his back hoping Clara would love them.

Clara woken up by a loud knock on the door and wondered who was at the door at this time of night, making sure her lover was still sleeping before answering the door to see a smiling blue hedgehog in a tux holding a bouquet of white roses. Before Clara could ask what Sonic wanted the said hedgehog entered her apartment making himself at home, putting the kettle on for some tea Clara sat down in her lounge chair instead of the couch to keep her distance and with a deep breath asked Sonic why he was here when he should have been married by now.

"I couldn't go through with the marriage, I mean I love Amy but I fell in love with someone else. That is why I am here- I need to know if you feel the sa..."

Sonic stopped his speech when he heard the bedroom door open and standing there was Willow Anne Fox groggily rubbing her eyes asking her girlfriend if everything was all right. The white fox soon woke up to see her hero sitting there as she happily squealed talking a mile a minute as she asked him questions about his adventures, Sonic on the other hand impatiently told Willow to stop asking questions as he came here for Clara so they could finally be together. Hurt that her hero was shouting at her and was close to tears, Clara saw red as she glared at Sonic giving him his answer.

"I think you got your wires crossed here pal, I never once flirted with you and the reason I only talked to you because my fiancée wanted to meet her hero. Not only did you ignore a fan you shunned her and for that I wanted to punch your lights out, but Willow wouldn't let me. Now you left a woman that loved you for something that wasn't real, but the last straw for me is when you insult my Willow in my own home."

All Sonic could hear was fiancée, standing up he angrily ran his hands through his quills glaring at Willow who was now crying.

"You lied to me Clara you said you wanted to meet up with me alone."

"I never told you I wanted to hook up or show any interest, all I did was arrange for my fiancée to meet one of the Freedom fighters as she is like I said a fan. And last of all if you ever foul mouth or talk to my girl that way again I'll cave your head in with my pipe wrench."

Sonic couldn't believe this was happening, here he was given his all to someone he loved and it wasn't enough and his feelings was all in vain. Was this how Amy felt every time he flirted with Sally Acorn and Fiona or any other girl through the years;- he could go back to Amy and tell her he got cold feet making some excuse that... What was the point, Sonic knew he would only hurt Amy again and she deserved someone better than him and for once was going to be the bigger man and let her go.

Without looking back Sonic sped out of Clara and Willow's home and straight to the nearest Bar to drink his sorrows, several hours later Sonic heard his communicator beeping to see Tails was trying to contact him. Sighing he answered his call expecting Tails to shout at him and he wasn't disappointed, the sixteen year old fox was not only Sonic's friend he was also Amy's and Tails was stuck in the middle of this problem.

"Sonic, where are you? The guys are looking for you and Shadow is after your blood... Why did you lead Amy on if you didn't feel that way for her?"

Sonic couldn't answer that question, he had no idea why he did what he did. Many times Sonic made excuses for missing dates like Eggman was attacking, which was a lie as Eggman always made some kind of public announcement to get the blue hedgehog's attention or plainly he just forgot.

"Tails buddy, I know I hurt Ames and I'll make it up to her- she'll..."-

"She what Sonic, Amy will forgive you like always. This isn't missing a date or forgetting a birthday, you played with a friend's feelings knowing how much she loved you. Sonic your my friend and close to me like a brother, but Amy's my friend too and no apology is going to make this better. If you didn't love her in that way then you should have been a bigger man and told Amy instead of carrying on with the charade. From the beginning if you loved her then tell her, if you didn't, tell her because anything would have been better than this mess."

Sonic sighed and for the first time listened to what his friend had to say, there was so much he had to make up for and the first one would be in blood when he heard Shadow angry voice over his shoulder calling him Faker.

Shadow had a limit in how much damage he could do to Sonic, Shadow wanted to snap Sonic's neck and get rid of the problem all together- however Amy would never forgive him if anything worse than a beating was inflicted on Faker and despite everything Amy still loved that Jerk. Shadow knew he had to answer to G.U.N Headquarters for attacking a citizen, but it was worth it to fracture Sonic's ribs and beat him to an inch of his life. Once his anger was justified Shadow pulled out his chaos emerald and teleported outside of Amy's balcony at the Acorn Palace where Sally was checking up on her sleeping friend.

Once the close was clear Shadow tapped on the balcony window startling Amy from her sleep, rubbing her red swollen eyes Amy looked to the window standing there with a bruised eye and split bottom lip that were now healing was Shadow. Concerned Amy got out of bed and stepped outside checking for anymore injuries, happy that there were no more superficial cuts and bruises Amy brought Shadow inside leading him to the kitchens for some ice and the First Aid Kit.

While Amy was cleaning and bandaging wounds Shadow was trying to think of something to say that didn't sound gruff, the black and red stripped hedgehog didn't want to bring up Sonic bringing tears into Rose's beautiful green eyes.

Amy was finishing tying the last bandage trying to hold back her tears in front of Shadow as she didn't want to make him uncomfortable with her heartbreak, Shadow on the other hand saw his Rose bite her bottom lip to stop herself from looking weak in his eyes. All through the evening Amy's friends have been telling her that everything would be ok and Sonic would come back- this wasn't what Amy wanted to hear and just wanted to be alone. Feeling Amy's pain Shadow inwardly sighed and without warning pulled Amy into his arms without saying a word, this was too much for Amy as she broke down and cried repeating over like a mantra. "I hate him, I hate him, I hate him."
