Summary: All they planned to do was hunt the demon down and return home. She didn't expect to run into her big brother, and she never intended to end up in outer space thanks to a blue robotic lion. Kagome's caught up in another war, but the timing of it all couldn't be worse- considering she's carrying a certain demon lord's pups. A protective demon was certainly a deadly beast to foes.

Pairing: Kagome x Sesshoumaru; [Eventual] Allura x Lotor

Chapter One

When the Blue Lion finally landed on the unfamiliar planet, everyone came to a halt where they stood. Not even a full second later, the lion dove down and opened its maw once again to let its passengers disembark from their ride there.

"Should we go..?" Pidge asked after a brief pause, and all eyes went to her instantly. In response, Kagome was the first to move, taking Sesshoumaru by his hand and pulling him behind her.

"I don't see why not," she said. Before she could step off the precarious ride, she was stopped by Shiro's arm stretching out in front of her. At the sight of it, she frowned instantly, and she brought both hands up to rest them on the prosthetic metal. It bore such an ominous aura that had previously been overshadowed by the aura the lion bore. "Takashi…"

He looked down at her upon hearing her quiet whisper, and it was then he noticed her focus on the robotic arm he now had. With his other hand, he gently patted the top of her head, smiling when she looked up to meet his stare.

He had explained what he could to her earlier about the truth of the fate of the Kerberos Mission, but she was still worried. She could speak from experience how dangerous these sorts of things could be, and she wanted to help him. As worried as she was for him, she also harbored that same worry for the other two men who had been a part of the Kerberos Mission alongside him. After all, they'd been taken by the same people as he had, and their status and location were unknown.

"Let's… Everyone just be careful and stay together," Shiro said finally, and Kagome let her hands drop from their place on his arm.

"Is there something wrong?" Pidge asked, coming up on Kagome's side, eyeing the older man in confusion.

"It's not that," Shiro said, turning and glancing at the outside world that awaited them. "I've already lost one crew to aliens. I'm not going to let it happen again."

"Things feel calm here," Kagome said once he'd fallen silent, and eyes went to her. She ignored the weight of many stares, once again taking Sesshoumaru by his hand and moving first out of the lion. She couldn't feel any sort of threat to them here. Considering Sesshoumaru was letting her leave without making her stop, then she knew he couldn't sense any danger either, and she chose to rely on that.

Soon enough, everyone had left the lion, and they were now congregated in a group a few feet away from where it'd landed. Kagome looked at the castle before them, tilting her head to the side curiously.

"Y'know, the aura of that castle kinda matches the lion," she said abruptly, and eyes went to her again.

"So it brought us to its home?" Lance questioned her, and Kagome shrugged.

"It bonded with you," she said. "Sounds like something to ask the lion."

Before anything else could be said, the lion rose from its seated position. When it so suddenly stood up, the group whirled around to face it. Kagome stumbled back out of surprise, and, at the same time, Hunk ducked down to hide from the lion.

"It's gonna eat us! You guys, I knew it was gonna eat us all along!" Hunk exclaimed.

The lion roared, the sound loud enough it made the ground shake. Not long after, the doors to the castle opened, and Hunk slowly stood up from where he'd knelt down and cowered.

"O-Oh, nevermind," Hunk said as he looked at the now-open castle doors. "Looks like I was wrong, all it did was open the doors." He turned, now facing the lion. "Sorry," he said, apologizing to the lion.

Kagome patted his shoulder as she walked past him, Sesshoumaru at her side. Upon noticing the pair already going ahead to the castle, the rest hurried to follow suit

"H-Hey, wait up!" Lance cried out as he and the rest brought up the back of the pack. "Stick together, remember?"

Kagome giggled and glanced over her shoulder.

"Then keep up," Sesshoumaru stated, and she saw Lance pale a little at the chill in the demon's words. Though they were simple, the way he spoke was so threatening and ominous all the same.

Kagome glanced up at Sesshoumaru with a mild, scolding look. "Geeze, enough with the ice," she said. Sesshoumaru matched it with a glare, and she bit back the urge to sigh.

"You guys sure it's safe to go in there?" Hunk asked, and Kagome nodded.

"Yeah," she said after a brief pause. Before she could say anything else, Kagome felt as two different auras brushed along her keen senses. She frowned and focused on the faint pulses of the auras for a moment. They weren't dead, but they weren't entirely alive either. They were suspended in a stasis of sort, that much she could tell.

The question of why presented itself in her mind, and her first automatic thought were that they were placed in whatever they were in for their protection and safety. Sesshoumaru hadn't noticed their scents any, or else he would've made her follow behind him, opposed to allowing her to lead.

Kagome frowned and came to a halt just before the doors. Before he could pass her and assume the lead, she tugged Sesshoumaru to a halt beside her. "One second," she said quietly for only him to hear.

She focused on the auras more, closely studying them for any odd trait or flash of awareness, but nothing changed. The rest finally caught up to the pair, coming to a halt behind Kagome and Sesshoumaru. Shiro noticed her silence, and he stepped up to her other side. He rested a hand on her shoulder, sparing her a worried look when she finally turned her attention to him.

"Kagome?" Shiro asked her, "what's wrong?"

Kagome shook her head to clear her thoughts some and she looked back up to meet his gaze. "Well…" she hesitated for a moment. She didn't know if it'd be better to tell them, or to let them be blind to it. She resisted the urge to shake her head again, eventually coming to the decision to share her discovery with the rest. "I'm able to feel two distinct auras from inside the castle," she said finally.

"You mean there are people in there?" Hunk asked, partially cutting her off. Kagome looked at him and nodded slowly. "Are they dangerous?"

Kagome hesitated for a moment before ultimately shaking her head. "I don't think so," she said. "Their auras are suspended. They're not active, but they're not dead. Despite their situation, they feel peaceful."

"You keep saying how you can feel these auras," Keith, the one who'd been silent up until that point, asked her. Kagome turned his way at the question, blinking owlishly a few times before she realized that they, unlike her brother, didn't know of her abilities. It wasn't often she was around people who weren't aware of her powers, so she never worried about being close-lipped on the subject.

"Oh right, I completely forgot you guys have no idea," she said, her words more for herself as opposed to the confused teenagers present. She shook her head and a bright smile appeared on her face. "I'm a priestess."

"Woah, sounds super fancy," Lance said, and Kagome laughed. If he knew the things she'd handled in her life so far, he'd surely think the opposite in a matter of seconds.

"I wouldn't put it that way," she said once her giggles subsided. "But to answer your question, Keith, as a priestess, I'm gifted with the ability to sense auras. In the past, priestesses were known to lead villages and protect the villagers from danger. However, as time went on, the need for them declined, so the abilities they possess became dormant. People might be born with them, but unless something calls for them to awaken, most are unaware of their presence for their lives," she explained.

"So does that mean your abilities were dormant until something made them wake up, too?" Pidge asked, joining in the conversation when her intrigue spiked.

Kagome nodded, "right. Mine were unsealed when I was fifteen." She paused with a quiet sigh. "The story behind that, however, is pretty long. It should probably be saved for a rainy day." Or a rainy weekend.

"Do we still go in?" Lance asked, and Kagome glanced over her shoulder.

"I don't see why not," she said after a brief pause. "What else would we do?" she asked a second later. "The lion brought us here, probably for a reason." At the very least, it wouldn't hurt to do a little exploring in the castle.

With her comment, she turned on her heel and walked in as Sesshoumaru took the lead over her.

Upon following the wall-torches as they lit up, they were lead to a room. As they followed the trail of lights, Kagome was keen to notice the way the auras grew stronger. She remained silent as they came to that room, unable to ignore the auras now that they were stronger than ever.

They were in this room, there was no denying that.

She came to a halt in the middle of the room and frowned as she let her attention stray to the floor.

They weren't just in this room. They were under the floor, hidden away from anyone who might come searching for their presence.

How long had they been under the floor? Everything in the castle looked to have been undisturbed for several years, at least. There were no lingering remnants of previous life here. Until now, no one has walked these halls for years.

A noise came from beside her, and Kagome jumped when it pulled her from her own musings. As she calmed her racing heart, she realized the noise had been from the device she stopped beside. The noise, and her slight scrambling, caught the focus of the rest, and they slowly moved over to where she stood.

"Oh, neat!" Pidge exclaimed, peering closely at the technology found. "This thing looks like it might be a control panel for this room," she said, and Kagome nodded. "Question is, how do we get it to work?"

"No telling," Kagome said, glancing over Pidge's shoulder in order to observe the device. It produced another noise, and without warning, a series of objects rose from the floor. As they did, a cold fog seemed to come along with them.

Kagome was abruptly urged behind Sesshoumaru at the sudden action, and from where she stood, she could feel the full wave of the auras she'd been feeling. They slowly got stronger again as they began to pulse as whoever they were slowly woke up. The first pod opened without warning, the green glass-like cover dissipating away in a flurry of iridescent sparkles.

Kagome peered around Sesshoumaru just in time to spot the figure inside open their eyes. She was a pretty woman with long, snow-white hair and blue eyes. She gasped as she took a step forward, only to start to fall as soon as she moved.

"Father, don't-!"

Kagome moved instinctively as she fell forward, managing to save her the pain of landing face-first on the ground. Kagome caught her in her arms, dropping to her knees in order to brace her a bit better. "You need to be careful," Kagome chided softly. "Are you alright?" she asked a second later.

"W-Who are you?" the white-haired woman asked as she slowly pulled away from the ravenette who'd caught her. She slowly moved back onto her feet, eyes roaming over the group present, and her last memories before being put into the pod all came rushing back. "Who are all of you?!" she demanded. "Why are you in my castle, and where is King Alfor?!"

Sesshoumaru took Kagome by her wrist and easily tugged her back up onto her feet as he eyed the unfamiliar woman.

"We know as much as you do," Kagome said, setting a hand on Sesshoumaru's arm so he didn't do anything.

"Right," Shiro said, taking the lead. "Here, why don't we start off with introductions?" he suggested, and the woman turned towards him.

"... Fine," she said after a brief pause. "I am Princess Allura of Planet Altea."

Shiro nodded, introducing himself and the four with him. "My name's Shiro. That's Keith, Lance, Hunk, and Pidge," he said, motioning to each figure as he said their name. He then looked over at Kagome and Sesshoumaru. Before he could do the same for them, Kagome took the lead.

"I'm Kagome, and this is Sesshoumaru," she said, offering Allura a gentle smile.

Allura let her gaze swap over to the raven-haired girl, and she watched her silently for a moment. As she did, her eyes also swept over Sesshoumaru, and she spared him a curious glance.

He definitely looked different compared to the others there, and it piqued her interest. Furthermore, he also seemed different than them, as well. She shook her head a second later before turning back to Shiro.

"How did all of you get here?"

"A Blue Lion," he responded. "We found it on Earth, and it brought us here."

"What?!" Allura's eyes widened at that statement. "If that's the case then… Its Paladin must be…" She shook her head and turned away from them suddenly. She moved, heading over to the control console in the center of the room. "I can't waste any time. I need to know how long we've been asleep here…" she said, her voice quiet and her words only for her to hear.

As they waited for Allura to do what she needed, the second pod finally opened. A mustached man with orange hair toppled out of it. As he fell, a cry of "intruders!" came from him. Kagome spared him a brief glance before turning away from the man that'd fallen a few feet behind her.

He'd figure it out soon enough, she figured.

However, a hand landing on her shoulder made her jump, and she moved instinctively before she could stop herself. Kagome turned just enough to grip his wrist. With a growl, she threw him over her shoulder and onto the floor in the center of the group, much to the surprise of most everyone present. Many wide-eyed stares went to her, and Kagome huffed, folding her arms over her chest.

"Keep looking at me like that, and you're all gonna get tossed," she warned. A second later, not a single gaze remained on her. She did, however, hear a quiet chuckle rumble from Sesshoumaru, and she huffed.

"A-Alright, you… you sure got the best of ol' Coran here," he rasped out from where he laid on the ground. Kagome looked at him and shrugged sheepishly.

"Sorry about that. You startled me."

Going for her wasn't the wisest move, even though he'd only been picking himself up off the ground. If she hadn't done anything, then she knew that Sesshoumaru would've taken the initiative to do so. And that was the last thing that needed to happen.

"Oh no! This can't be!"

Allura's sudden outburst caught everyone's attention, and all eyes went to her. Coran moved to stand beside her, resting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Princess? What's wrong?"

"Coran, it's been ten thousand years since we were put into the pods," Allura said as she looked up at him. "It's all gone- Altea, the planets in our solar system, Father… They're all gone…" The sorrow surrounding her soon twisted into anger as she clenched her fists tight. "This is his doing!" she said abruptly. "Zarkon did all of this!"

Shiro flinched at the name, an assault of memories flashing behind his eyes as he cradled his head in his hands. Kagome frowned and called out to him.

"Takashi? What's wrong?

Shiro shook his head, clearing the haze of memories away some as he looked at Allura. "You said Zarkon, right?" he asked, and she nodded. "Now I remember," he said. "I was his prisoner for the past year."

"Impossibile!" Allura exclaimed. "It's been ten thousand years. How can he possibly still be alive?" Her denial bled into horror at the possibility, and Shiro approached her.

"Look, I don't know how it's possible, but I do know that's he still alive and out there," he said. "He's searching for a weapon called Voltron."

Allura's eyes narrowed, and she nodded. She folded her arms over her chest. "Of course, he's after Voltron. He's trying to get it because Voltron is the only thing powerful enough to put an end to him."

"If that's the case, then we need to find it first," Kagome said. She'd already dealt with one person like this, and the idea of dealing with another made her feel ill.

Allura nodded, resonating with her words. "Exactly. We're going to find it first and put an end to him and his reign once and for all."

C.R: New update! I meant to get this posted in mid-March but I kept working on it and adding on to it here and there instead of doing the proofreading.

I'm personally really excited for the moment Kagome tells the rest she's pregnant. It'll be coming up soon and I have the way it'll be done already written up. I just need to get the chapter done so it can be put in it.
Don't worry, the others will soon enough be fascinated and in awe over Sesshoumaru. Just give it time until the fighting starts~ (Although… someone better help anyone who tries to hurt Kagome or put her in harm's way. It won't be pretty.)

Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you enjoyed! Hopefully I caught all the errors before posting, but if not sorry.

Please remember to Review&Favorite&Follow, thank you!

Bye for now~
