-here is chapter 2!-

(Bubbles pov)

It was a week later and it looked like Derek was keeping his drinking under control. The real test was tonight, we were going out with some people and there was going to be alcohol. This was the true test of his loyalty to his words... If he didn't keep this, I wouldn't know how to feel... But I wouldn't stay...

I'm putting on my dress and looked at my face, the white cocktail dress made my fading bruises stand out. I covered them and I feel the nerves in my stomach start to emerge, my nervous eyes meet mine in the mirror. I'm trying to believe him so much, because I want this to work. I'm laying everything out on the line for him and if he takes advantage of this again, I'm done.

We head out and he is relatively quiet, we hadn't had sex again for a few days. I just followed him on autopilot. We get there and I immediately reminded him of the promise he made. Derek rolled his eyes. That should have been my first red flag, but still I stayed. Because I wanted to see how this played out. If I was finally enough for him to stop. If he loved me like he said he did, instead of the lies I've been living with for almost 3 years. We've been a married couple for 6, and that means half of our relationship was this.

"I know Bubbles... I'm only having one at most..." He walked over to a group of people and grabbed a glass of chardonnay. As soon as his hand touched it i feel a sinking feeling, like we're about to enter the same rabbit hole that we started with. I stayed away from the alcohol because of what it did to people in my life. I didn't feel right drinking myself and stuck to water. As the night goes on I'm counting Derek's glasses, he's on his third and bile starts to rise in my throat.

He promised... He wouldn't do it again would he? Not after what he said, the words we shared... Was he just gonna throw all of it away? He was gonna let these rich alcoholics keep offering him drink after drink, accepting them and laughing while his wife was helpless in the background? I'm the one he's supposed to be paying the most attention to...

I reminded him again and he brushed me off, too enamoured by the night life and the people casually drinking around him. I was in the background of his mind and watched as three turned into 6 and 6 turned into 12. He now wasn't responding to me at all. I knew what was coming next, I was gonna be the target when we got home, so I did the only sane thing I did all week. I got up, took the car keys under his nose and left him there

I wasn't waiting around, I wasn't sitting at his side for him to hit me again. I wasn't helping, so I wasn't staying there anymore. I still wasn't enough for him to want to change, and then anger starts to rise in my stomach. It started raining and I'm watching the road in a glare. I was really stupid, wasn't I?

I feel tears again, this man did nothing but make me cry. If he wants me, then he's going to be working for me, I wasn't giving myself to him anymore. I was a trophy to him now, to show off his perfect life and beautiful "happy" life... I'm not happy anymore, we're not happy anymore... I'm finally done...

My tears started to blind me and I end up swerving, I ended up on the grass a few blocks away from our house. I tried to fix the situation but the tires of the car were stuck. I just get out in the rain and walked the rest of the way. By the time I entered the door, I'm completely soaked, but my mind stopped caring about it at this point. I'm too focused on going upstairs to continue packing everything I had started last week.

I knew my efforts were going to be wasted and my hopes were going to be hit out of the sky by my alcoholic husband. I'm in my closet no longer paying attention anymore... I didn't hit my attention that when I got home, the door was already unlocked... I guess I was far too emotional to notice...

(Butch pov 1 hr before)

It took a very long time, but I managed to track Brick's sister down. I hated this, but Brick could put me back in prison if he took back his word and bail money. Her husband was Derek Rivers, a man with cash and a bad reputation underground. Her husband made finding any trace of her a hard time. The house was full of security and that spelled trouble, anyone standing in the way of my task was a threat. I made my way to the large condominium, parking in the back. If I parked in the front, I'd alert people. I wasn't sure of how many guys The Tank had, but I was gonna shoot every single one of them that I saw.

Then I saw it, one of the guards in the back blocks any entrance, I had to go in the front. I'm in the process of walking around to the front when someone comes walking around with a flashlight. I'm quick to grab him and smashed the flashlight off the side of the house, the thunder of the oncoming storm drowning the noise. I put him in a headlock to stop him from seeing me and I made him pass out before dropping him to the ground.

The less kills here, the better chance I had of getting away with her. Alerting anyone else out of the circle of me was dangerous, if they saw me, mouths would start talking so mine and my job's life would be in danger. I managed to get to the front door and lock picked the door. I head inside quietly, I didn't know who was in the house yet. I'm looking for her, not her husband. I don't care about him. I was told to protect her. So I am, by any means necessary...

I began my quiet search through the house, searching every room as inconspicuously as I could. Nobody was here yet... I had to fucking wait... Not what I had in mind but I managed to hide in a large wardrobe in the master bedroom. I opened the door just a tad to see if anyone entered the room. I wait there for over an hour and began to wonder if she just wasn't home today.

I finally get a break when a tear stained blue eyed, blond haired woman in a wet white cocktail dress, entered the master bedroom. I had a huge hunch it was her, she fit the description perfectly. By what I could tell, she was beautiful, young and completely distraught. She went into the closet and by what I could tell, she was packing suitcases. Looks like something in the marriage fizzled. But I didn't care about that, I had to collect my job. I slowly creep out of the wardrobe, I needed to do this as quietly as possible.

She didn't notice me at all, far too in her own head. I put my skills as an assassin to work, I am quick to wrap my arms around her, covering her mouth so she couldn't scream and alert anyone. She lets out a surprised yelp and froze. I feel her body starting to tense, she couldn't get away from me.

"Are you Bubbles? If you are I need you to come with me nice and easy..." I whisper and she squeaked in fear, she reacted by stomping on my foot with her heels. I grunt in annoyance, that hurt like a bitch, but I wasn't letting her go. She tried to punch me in the groin, I side step to block it. Her last attempt is to flail in my grip so I forced her against something to keep her still. She was still fighting back. Wrestling with her wasn't exactly what I was looking forward to. I finally managed to pin her completely, I'm breathing heavily, because this chick definitely wasn't going without a fight.

"Fuck you're a feisty little thing... Listen... I'm sorry for scaring you, but I can't really explain here... You need to come with me because we don't have much time... I'm not going to hurt you, even if I really want to after you did that to me..." I glare at the wall, this is definitely Brick's little sister.

She tried talking, I let her for five seconds. "What is this? Who are you?" I put pressure on her mouth again. I guess I could tell her who sent me, maybe it would make her leave with me easier.

"Someone your brother sent... I'm going to explain somewhere that we can talk... That is definitely not here..." I'm losing my patience, this was gonna be a damn treat. She stopped fighting back so I slowly began to let her go, if she tried running, she was going back against the wall.

"Fine... Take me... It can't get any worse than staying here... Not like i had a chance to say no..." She huffed in annoyance. I'm glad we're on the same page, because I'm just as annoyed as she was.

I hand cuffed her to my arm and she looked at our hands in shock. I'm doing this shit my way, she wasn't going to be able to tell me no. I was keeping her safe and this was how I was taught to do it.

"Why did you handcuff me if you're not hurting me? I'm listening..." She said nervously. I glare in her direction. Brick owes me big time for this shit...

"Because I don't want you to possibly run, I'm working off a pretty hefty debt and you're not exactly complying like a saint sugar..." Her jaw dropped and she pouts again.

After a minute of silence she spoke again, "What do you owe Brick?" She asked curiously.

"Pack your suitcase and let's go..." I'm not answering here.

"I asked a question!" She glared at me and I glare back.

"And I told you to wait!" This girl was already a pain in my ass.

"You're not very friendly!" She huffed and did as told.

"You can say that..." I chuckle darkly, if only she knew... I'm far from friendly...

This was far from my normal routine, I wasn't used to keeping someone alive, I was used to killing people on the spot. I'm probably going to have to do that if someone suspicious gets far too close to us.

"There... That's what I want to take..." She sighed heavily, I now got a good look at her face... I now can see why she isn't fighting to stay. She finished packing and I started to take her the same route I took to get in. She sees the passed out security guard and her eyes widen. I rolled my eyes.

"Is he dead!" She whispers and I shook my head.

"I haven't killed anyone yet..." I answered and she started to walk faster. I'd like to see her reaction when she hears the number.

"What do you mean yet!? Who are you?!" She didn't get an answer, because I get to my car and open the passenger side door. I uncuff my hand and cuff her to the dashboard.

"Why are you still handcuffing me!?" She was louder than necessary. I threw my hand over her mouth again and she squeaked.

"Do me a favor and shut the fuck up before you alert someone! Nobody can see me leaving with you!" I whisper dangerously. And to my annoyance, someone comes running around the corner and shines the flashlight right at us. This leaves me no choice but to pop him.

I pulled out my gun, a pistol with a silencer, and in an instant he's down. Bubbles looked at me in stunned fear.

"That one's definitely dead..." I say sarcastically and she goes completely silent. Now she sees that I'm fucking serious.

I hop in the driver's seat and started the car, I didn't want to stay there long. I take the off road trail into the forest. She's still silent and that I will take for now. I reach a cut off and turned on to the open road. Our first stop is just outside Tampa bay, I needed to set up somewhere further than that, but it was far too late and nothing was open to book.

"Why..." She whimpered and I look at her.

"Why, what?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Did you have to kill him?" She looked at me with emotion in her eyes.

"It wouldn't have happened if you didn't alert him in our direction... You don't know what is going on, but I was told to escort you and protect you by any means necessary... Brick has something over my head so you're stuck with me until further notice..." I massage my temples. This chick gave me a migraine.

"Protect me?" She asked her eyes wide again.

"Yeah I'm protecting your ass..." I'm just looking forward to going to sleep.

"How can I trust you?" Bubbles questions me. She shouldn't, but she definitely had no choice.

"Because your brother paid a quarter million in my benefit and now he's cashing in on it, he could easily take it back... I didn't have a choice... I certainly didn't volunteer..." I definitely would rather be doing anything but this right now.

She slumped in her seat and sighed, "Where are you taking me?..." She sounded like she finally got the picture.

"A motel outside Tampa bay until I find somewhere further... I can't keep you there for long..." I can at least tell her where we're going to be staying. Brick's rule of not letting her in was a pain in the ass and made my job 100 times more difficult.

"How long do you think it's going to be?" She shifts uncomfortably.

"The drive is 2 hrs darling... If you don't like it then take a nap..." I continue driving, I was gonna have to ditch this car too when the time came.

She finally stayed quiet, I didn't get it... Her face told me a much different story to her attitude. If I was stuck with her I might as well get as acquainted as we were going to get.

"You know... For a battered trophy wife... You're certainly not a pushover..." I knew that this was a little bit much, but this is me. I don't do small talk, I dive in because there's nothing better to do.

She looked at me in shock for the third time tonight.

"Excuse me?" She asked uncomfortably.

"The fading bruises, the pre packing of the suitcases, the fancy dress, the tear stained face... I see all the signs..." I knew I hit the nail on the head.

"You're very rude, very scary and unfortunately you're quiet observant..." She glared at the dashboard.

"I come from a place where that shit is common... Don't worry Angel... You're certainly not the only girl I've seen like you... My only question is why you could hit me and not do it to him? You're not weak..." I don't get why they let them do it.

"Because I love him too much to hit him back..." She sighed.

I started to chuckle, that was the dumbest excuse I could possibly hear.

"Why are you laughing you psychopath!?" She was mad, but that was definitely stupid.

"Because you shouldn't have feelings for someone who treats you like a punching bag..." She was so naive.

"I'm sure you wouldn't know love if it hit the broad side of your head!" She snapped, she was getting fired up.

"I got nothing in my life to love, I keep my love life under wraps..." My job didn't scream relationship material. I take my eyes off the road for a second and give her a full look. If she wasn't so annoying I'd consider her hot. She was just a job and that's it.

"Can I at least get your name if you're going to be insulting me!" Bubbles pouts again.

"Butch..." I guess that wasn't a issue.

"Last name?" She asked and I smirk.

"None-ya..." I don't ever share my last name, that was to keep all ties away from me.

"Are you always going to be this fucking rude?! Like oh my god you are such a asshole!" She yelled at me and I raised a brow. It was odd to hear a gorgeous, rich white woman swear without shame.

"I kill people for a living sweetheart... I don't do nice..." She's lucky I didn't clock her for stomping my damn foot.

"You're a murderer?" She asked in panic and I can't help but laugh. This chick was definitely sheltered by Brick, she had no clue.

"Contract killers just kill bad people that other bad people want dead for money... If i just walked up to someone innocent and popped em, then I'd be asking for a one way pony ride to prison because of how recklessly stupid that is..." I'm not ashamed of what I do. I'm good at it and unfortunately have to spend most of my earnings on relocating to tip off the heat.

"What is it like? To pull the trigger?" She started to get comfortable, because she knew she was stuck.

"You grow numb to it after awhile... I feel nothing now..." I'm not fazed, I do what I have to do.

"I don't think I could..." She cringed.

"You're too soft... Most people are..." The world made a bunch of bitches.

"Now I get it..." She pointed out and that caught me off guard.

"What do you get now sugar?" I'd love to hear her observations.

"Why you're acting like this... If you're unlikable, then there's no room for personal relationships..." She was studying me like I was studying her.

"I'm not sure people want to befriend someone who could kill them in their sleep..." I mocked her.

"Can you at least try to be a little more pleasant? If I'm stuck with you then I'd want it to be civil..." She was trying to do it her way.

"You're not the one who I owe this to, I'm in charge of your safety and I'm doing it my way..." I'm not a guy who budges easy.

"So your way is to be a dick?" She asked sarcastically.

"Yeah pretty much..." I chuckle, she huffed again and sunk into her seat.

The rest of the drive was silent until we got to the motel. I go I to retrieve the key and then go out to her. I cuff her to my wrist again and she looked unimpressed, she was my responsibility so she was gonna have to deal with it.

We make it into the room and I throw her stuff on the dresser. I looked at her dirty, white dress and heels. She was not getting the bed dirty with those.

"Change your clothes... We're going to bed..." I tell her and she blushed.

"With you in the room?" She asked in embarembarrassment.

"I gotta make sure you don't run off..." She thinks I'm not serious?

"Listen, I won't run if you at least let me change in privacy... The bathroom looks like it has no window and you can stand guard outside the door... Please just let me have that..." She looked at the floor and I roll my eyes. If it'll make her shut up.

"Whatever, just shut the fuck up and hurry up!" I lead her to the bathroom and temporarily uncuff her.

"Thank you..." She closed the door and I stood there, listening very carefully.

As promised she came out in a white tank top and grey pajama pants. I cuffed her hand again and she sighed heavily in annoyance.

"When will you stop cuffing me?..." She asked in impatience.

"When I know you're not going to be endangering yourself..." I say and lead her to the bed, I uncuff my hand and attach it to the headboard.

"At least you're not hurting me..." She said somberly and laid down, curling up into herself.

"Hitting a woman ain't exactly my hobby of choice sweetheart... That should have been your first observation when you stomped on my foot and I didn't knock your head off the wall..." Still hurt a bit actually.

I take off my jacket and shirt, I see her eyes on me. I don't know if she was checking me out or making sure I was gonna do something. I sat on the bed.

"Are we sleeping in the same bed?" her nervous tone was back

"I ain't sleeping on the floor..." I don't do special treatment.

"Oh...: She sounded timid.

"I'm not gonna do anything dumbass... You're my job not my fuckin booty call..." I am beyond sarcastic.

"Okay..." She sighed and went quiet again.

We both stayed quiet until we fell asleep. I had to look for the next location in the morning.

-Butch is savage! lol-
