Cyborg and Raven

"Alright," Cyborg shouted as he was walking out of the main room, "ya'll sure no one wants to come to the store?"

He got a chorus of "yes"'s.

So he shrugged and made his way to the elevator, grocery list in tow.

He just made it to the elevator when he heard a "wait!"

Cyborg turned around as his finger hovered above the down button on the elevator and saw Raven, half running half flying down the hall.

"Well what can I do for you missy?" He asked, moving his hand down from the button.

"I'm going to go to the store with you." Raven said, a bit winded.

"Well isn't that a nice surprise."

Raven gave him a look.

"Hey," Cyborg pushed the down button while his other hand went up in surrender, "I just wasnt expecting anyone to go with me is all."

Raven nodded as the elevator doors opened.

"So, is there anything in particular that you need to get?" Cyborg asked when they got in, Raven pushing the button for the garage.

"I need a new brush."

"What happened to the other one you just got?" Cyborg asked, genuinely confused.

"It broke." Raven stated.

"Ok." Cyborg said slowly, not wanting her to get defensive about his next question. "Am I allowed to ask how it broke?"

Raven shrugged. "Demon hair is incredibly thick. And now that It's getting longer, it breaks the brushes more often."

"Wait, let me get this straight." Cyborg turned to her and raised one hand. ""You broke your brush while brushing your hair?"

"In half." She added.

"Half?!"

Raven nodded and let a small grin show, amused by his reaction. "The paddle part split off the handle."

"Did it hurt?" He asked, impressed, concerned, and confused at the same time.

"No." She shook her head and stepped out of the elevator when the doors opened, Cyborg following her to the car. "I didn't notice until I went to brush it again and I didn't feel the bristles. It broke off in my hair."

"Ok, we're getting you a wooden one this time." Cyborg decided as he got into the car.

"Fine by me." Raven shrugged, getting in beside him.

It was mostly quiet for a few minutes while they made their way to the store before Cyborg asked another question.

"So, exactly how many brushes would you say you've broken?"

It was quiet again while Raven thought.

"On Earth, I want to say now maybe seven?"

"Thats crazy."

"Well, these hold up better than the bristles back on Azarath. The soft ones did nothing. At least the plastic ones actually go through my hair."

"That's still crazy." Cyborg shook his head and looked over to her with a smile. "I'm impressed."

Raven grinned back while they chatted some more and eventually got to the store, getting a sturdy looking wooden brush, hoping that this one will live longer than the others.

This is based on my experience. For YEARS I used to accidentally break my brushes while brushing my hair. My hair was just too thick for those rainbow plastic ones from Justice. Then issues happened and I didn't have much hair but now I do. And it came back curly and even thicker. And then it happened. For the first time in 6 years, I broke another brush. It made me happy and annoyed. It happens more often than you think
