The Ark tracker with a big mouth
3 days later… on the flight to Beacon academy. Jaune was struggling with his motionsicnes but somehow managed to keep his breakfast inside of him.
"Keep it together Scout… you can do this...'' he thought to himself. "Only a few more minutes, and I will get off this death trap of a ship. Only a few more minutes before I'm reunited with sweat, solid ground."
Jaune was managing it better than he expected, even though he forgot the medication for motion sickness. He tried to focus on anything other than his stomach. He noticed the other to be students on the ship. Everyone was wearing some colorful or fancy-looking attire. He was wearing a more subtle outfit. Wearing mostly black, except his pants which were a mix of greens and browns camp and the metallic knee guard, and his shoes, being black and white running shoes.
He was so commonly dressed, it was uncomonn in it's own way.
He then took a look at two girls, one dressed in mostly black with red accents and a red-caped hood, with black hair, tipped with red. She seemed kinda young to be here, but who was he to judge, if she had the skill to be here, he wouldn't complain.
The other girl, which the goth loli was talking to was quite the bombshell. She had quite a personality, she seemed energetic and up for fun. And her 'personality was also huge. She wore a yellow top, that was held in place by her 'Personality' and her brown leather jacket. She wore a pair of spandex-looking, skin-tight short shorts. She wore a belt with leather stripes attached to it, covering some of her assets. She wore some knee-high brown leather boots. But most notably, were her lilac eyes and her long, blonde hair.
''That's a 10/10 of I have ever seen one'' Taught Jaune.
If it weren't for the fact his stomach was killing him, he would have gone and asked her for her number. But right now, he was rather focused on not throwing up.
Minutes later, the ship landed and Jaune was one of the first one on the ground.
''Sweat, solid land, how I missed you!'' he exclaimed. Receiving some looks from the other arrivals. But he didn't care. He was happy that he was of that flying death trap.
Jaune, happy as ever, decided to go for a jog across the grounds of his new school. Going at his usual high speed, he went for a couple of rounds around the yard. He came to an abrupt halt when he heard an explosion. ''Oh… that sounds like fun…'' he thought, starting to run in the direction of the explosion.
What he saw before him made him laugh. The goth loli from the ship was sitting in a crater of an explosion, being seemingly scolded by a snopy, white-dressed princes.
As soon s the princes left, the loli fell to the ground exclaiming ''Welcome to Beacon'' before sighing loudly.
Jaune, got himself calmed down and walked to her, extending an arm and exclaiming ''Need a hand, seems like you had an explosive start.'' The girl sighed and took his hand.
''You know you would get along well with my sister Yang, she loves bad jokes and puns.'' She explained dusting herself of.
''What do you mean, my jokes aren't bad!'' explained a irritated Jaune.
''Yang says the same… My name is Ruby btw, Ruby Rose.'' She introduced herself.
''The name is Jaune Ark. Short sweet, rolls of the tong. Ladies love it. But I'm better known under the nickname The Scout.'' Jaune introduced himself.
The 2 started walking in one direction. And Ruby started talking…
''So… I got this thing…'' she pulled out her weapon, transforming it into a giant scythe. ''It's also a high-impact sniper rifle, her name is Cresent Rose. '' She added.
''Compensating for something aren't we.'' Stated Jaune. Ruby blushed slightly before putting Cresent rose back onto her back in compact mode and asking.
''So… what do you got?'' she asked.
Jaune got a smirk on his face, as he pulled his bat from his holster at the side of his bag. ''This is Crusher, my weapon of choice. Specificaly made for me from a special ultra-light and ultra-durable dust enchanted metal alloy.'' He stated.
Hearing the specific, Ruby got excited. ''What King of alloy, and what does it do?'' she asked.
''The alloy is a secret, and I hit stuff with it. It's just a bat, it doesn't transform into a gun. That's why I have these.'' He stated holtering his bat and pulling out his 2 shotguns from his back.
''This is my so-called 'Scatergun' as when I pull it out most people scatter in terror. It a 7 shot, lever-action shotgun chambered in 12gage, 000 buckshot. And this is my so-named 'Force A Nature' as the knockback is really high, due to it being a sawed of double barrel side by side shotgun, and the fact I use special gravity dust base ammo in it just ads to the knockback.'' Explained Jaune.
Ruby dueling at seeing his weaponry. As she regained her posture she asked ''Btw do you know where we are going?''
''I was following you.'' Stated Jaune. ''But I believe we are supposed to gather in that big building over there in… 2minutes ago.'' Stated Jaune.
Ruby disappeared in a cloud of rose petals towards the direction of the building. Jaune was intrigued at the sight of someone with a speed semblance. ''We got to have a race when initiation is over'' he thought, as he sprinted towards the building with full speed, arriving seconds after Ruby now standing inside the hall.
''That wasn't nice of you leaving me like that.'' Stated Jaune in a teasing manner.
Ruby yelped as she was shocked as she didn't expect Jaune to appear behind her so fast.
''How did you got here so fast?'' she asked in disbelieve.
''I don't have the nickname The Scout for no reason. I run fast, really fast.'' Stated Jaune.
''Ok, but I was using my semblance to get here, just how fast can you run?'' she asked.
''If I go for long distances about 35kmh, if I sprit short distances I can go a lithe over 40.'' Stated Jaune.
''That is fast.'' Stated ruby
And with that the got interrupted as a female voice called out to ruby.
''Hey, Ruby. There are some spots left over here.'' She yelled.
''And that's my sister, come she probably wants to meet you since you both share horrible humor.'' Stated Ruby.
And with that the made there way to Ruby's sister.
''Collor me surprised sis. I didn't have you to bring a guy along, not to mention a good-looking one.'' She stated, taking a look at Jaune. Receiving a ''Yang!'' from Ruby.
''You ain't half bad eighter.'' Stated Jaune.
''Like whatcha see?'' she asked teasingly.
''But of course, I do.'' Stated Jaune confidently.
''Yang, this is Jaune. Jaune this is my sister Yang.'' Ruby introduced the both of them.
''Yang Xiao Long, pleasure is all yours.'' Stated Yang extending a hand to Jaune.
Jaune took the hand and said. ''Jaune The Scout Ark, and you just stole my line. Pleasure is all yours, is my line. '' He stated ending the greeting.
''Confident, aren't you?'' Yang stated teasingly.
''I'm the best after all.'' Stated Jaune.
Yang chuckled at that. ''Sure, you are.''
Before they could continue cheating, they were cut by a man walking on stage.
One awfully boring and dull speech later.
Another figure walks on stage. ''My name is Glynda Goodwich, as you might know, already, I am the head deputy and combat instructor here at Beacon. The initiation will begin tomorrow until then you will be give room to stay at the ballroom. I suggest getting a good night's rest before tommorow, you will need it. You are dismissed.'' She stated.
''Well… still better than the awfully boring and dull speech from Oz.'' Stated Jaune.
''Agree.'' Stated Yang.
With that, they went to change to their sleeping wear. Jaune now greased in a pair of grey shorts and a yellow tank top entered the ballroom, where he imedeatly noticed Ruby gesturing to come to them.
''Not bad, not bad at all. You sure know how to chose your men sis.'' Stated Yang.
''Yang, stop embarrassing me in front of my new friend.'' Ruby blurted out while turning as red as her cloak.
''Strong leg musculature, as well as strong arms, just what do you do?'' asked Yang.
''I run, hit things with a bat, and shot them with 2 shotguns.'' Stated Jaune.
''Duel wielding… daring, aren't we?'' Yang teased.
''Daring, indeed. But I'm good, really good, maybe even the best at what I do.'' Stated Jaune.
''Cocky, but likably at least. Not like some of those guys.'' She said jerking a thumb behind her, pointing at some guys flexing there muscle, trying and failing to impress girls.
''There is a world of difference between me and them. They are just somebodys, but I am me. I'm am The Scout. The undefeated, the man who beat a 300kg bear faunes by the name of Heavy with his bare hands. I'm a force to be wrecking with. Grass grows, birds fly and sister, I hurt people.'' Explained Jaune with absolute pride.
''Wow… that was cocky, even beyond the scale. I'm impressed how stupid you are.'' Yang stated.
Jaune getting with agrin on his face stated. ''I would be stupid if you couldn't back up the talk. But everything I say I can back up with skill, muscle, or gun. I only as cocky as I'm strong.'' Explained Jaune.
'' You really set high standards for your strength then. We will see if ya can back it up on the field.'' Stated Yang.
''Whatever you say, hotshot. Gnite, ima go catch some z's.'' Stated Jaune, who almost instantaneous fell asleep.
''I don't know what to think of him… he seems nice but incredibly cocky. Maybe initiation will set him straight. What do you think Rubes?'' asked Yang.
''I just Wana sleep and forget this awful day.'' Stated Ruby, covering herself with a blanket.
''Good night.'' And with that, the day came to an end.
The morning before initiation.
Jaune slowly woke up, straching, hearing his joints snap into place. Yep, he was ready for some fun. He went to take a shove and get changed.
Now all fresh, he took the note of the looker number he put his gear in and looked at it. 626? What do you mean, there is no way I put my gear in locker 626. This is gonna be a pain in the ass to find, he thought. He got himself a bunch of protein bars and a soda for breakfast before starting the search.
After 20 minutes of searching, the not sorted by numbers at all, lockers I found the colon that contains his locker. And there were 2 girls talking directly in front of his lockers. One was the white haired and dressed Lili that scolded Ruby, while the other was a redhead with long hair put up int a ponytail. She was wearing, brons ang gold armor, and on her back she had a spear and shield combo. The snowflake had a rapier. Snowflake… I really come up with the best nicknames, he thought to himself.
''We should totally parter up. Just imagine, the strongest student and the smartest student together, we would be unstoppable.'' Snowflake said.
''That would be… grand, but I thought of letting fate decide.'' Red stated.
''By the gods will, the die has Ben cast…'' Jaune stated as both turned to face him. ''Sorry to pop in unannounced, but that's my locker right there.'' He stated.
''Sorry, I don't mean to block your locker.'' Stated red.
''Don't be red, at least I got to speak to you.'' He stated giving her a wink and proceeded to Unlock his locker and began putting on his gear.
''Do you even know who you are speaking to?'' asked snowflake.
''Do you know who you are speaking to, snowflake?'' snapped Jaune.
''You really don't know, do you. This is Pyrrha Nicos, the 4times champion of the mistralien annual tournament. She graduated top of her class at sanctum.'' She stated.
''Hellow again'' Pyrrha stated with a wawe of her hand.
''The name is Jaune Ark. I got the nickname The Scout, the title The Undefeated, and I never meet anyone who could match my level. Maybe you can change that. I see a loot of fun in our future.'' Said Jaune, now with a warm smile on his face, putting on his bag, bat, and his shotguns.
Pyrrha gave him a smile as well, as it seemed that he didn't know, or care about her fame. Either one is good with her, but he seems kinda cocky… maybe she can fix that and he would be the perfect man for her then. No snap out of it Pyrrha, you came to Beacon to become a huntress and to make friends, and maybe a boyfriend. No, stop focus. But before se could say anything she got interrupted by snowflake.
''How come I've never heard of you, if you are so famous?'' asked snowflake.
''How come I've never heard of her before?'' Jaune said gesturing to Pyrrha. ''Some thing, just stay out of onse sight. If I knew mistral had a annual tournament, I wouldn't be that bored.'' He added.
Snowflake saw furious, but manage to stay calm. It didn't feel right, she never heard of him.
''If you like, we could spare after initiation.'' Stated Pyrrha.
''I will take you up on that, I'm always up for a good fight.'' stated Jaune.
The 2 of them shared a smile. Before a voice over the speaker cut in.
Would all initiatives report to the Beacon cliffs. I repeat. Would all initiatives report to the Beacon cliffs.
''That is our cue to leave. Shall we?'' asked Jaune.
Pyrrha nodded and went alongside him, they were followed by an internally raging snowflake.
Beacon cliffs, 15minutes later.
Jaune noticed the headmaster Oz. Great another boring speech, this will be great… he thought.
''For years you have been training, and today we will put these skills to the test. To complete initiation and become a student here at Beacon, you have to find and retrieve a relic, located in the ruins of an old temple, located somewhere at the north side of the Emerald forest.'' Ozpin explained.
''As you maybe hear rumors about teams and partners, I will clear thing up…'' Began Glynda Goodwich. ''The first person you make eye contact with, will be your partner for the next 4 years here at Beacon academy. So choose someone who you get along with. As for teams, we will decide after initiation.'' Added Glynda.
''Any questions?'' asked Ozpin. ''Ye, how do we get down there?'' asked Jaune. ''You will be launched.'' Stated Ozpin, as the pads on which the initiatives were standing, started to launch the teens into the forest. ''Good to know.'' Stated Jaune, reaching into his bag, bringing out a can of soda, and began to quickly drink it.
''A last drink?'' asked Ozpin with a chuckle.
''My landing strategy.'' Stated Jaune.
The headmaster, Glynda, and the rest of the teens looked at him with a wery look. Was he in his right mind.
Jaune emptied the can, tossing it aside, just before he was launched into the air, towards the Emerald Forrest.
Soaring true the air, Jaune was relaxed, whe the time came, he would use his Doble jump, curtose of his semblance, to land safely. As he approached the ground, getting closer and closer. When he felt something drag at his hood and pin him to a tree. It was an oddly familiar-looking spear.
The now pinned Jaune used his semblance and jumped off the air and pulled the spear out of his hood, and landed on a branch of the three. He proceeded to jump straight down and jump slightly before reaching the ground to negate any fall damage.
''What exactly was your landing strategy, did you even have one?'' asked a familiar voice.
Jaune looked into the emerald Eyes of Pyrrha Nicos Appearing behind him out of the bushes.
''The can of soda, has to do with my semblance, and I was about to jump right before I hit the ground which would slow me down enough to not get hurt when I hit the ground, partner.'' Jaune stated.
Pyrrha flushed a little at hearing him call her partner but kept her cool.
''That's understandable, but why the soda?'' asked Pyrrha.
''My semblance requires no aura, but sugar to function. And what better source of sugar the cola!'' stated Jaune.
''So your semblance is the ability to jump in the air, but it requires sugar to function?'' she asked.
''The Doble jump as I call it is only a bonus. The main part it…'' Began Jaune before disappearing from sight. ''Speed.'' Stated Jaune now standing behind Pyrrha.
''That was fast.'' She stated.
''Indeed, I will try to keep on your level of speed. So leed the way.'' Said Jaune, gesturing to Pyrha to lead.
''Maybe your not so bad after all.'' She whispered.
''What was that?'' asked Jaune.
''Nothing!'' she spat back.
This is going great, Jaune taught.
