AU: Hey everyone, sorry for taking ages to post a second chapter. I have three excuses. The first year of college is hard. I kinda lost motivation after the first chapter and just went back to only reading fanfic. I got lost when writing and finally managed to make it back after stabbing a leprechaun for good luck. Anyways, this is chapter two, hope you enjoy it. More at the bottom! Also if you'd like to beta read, please lmk! Thx
"Well! Here we are! Welcome to my home!" Ruby said happily and walked purposefully towards her house. She knocked as Hashrama admired the beautiful leaves that were slowly turning shades of red and orange all around. He also noticed that there was no smoke yet he could distinctly smell cookies which he was thankful to have around. A door opened and he was greeted by a taller blonde that looked nothing like the small black and red girl that ran and gave her a hug. "Whoa, Ruby… you're gonna break my back silly," The blonde said before looking up at the man patiently waiting behind her. "So who's this? You're new boyfriend? Was your supposed "training trip" an excuse to see him?" She teased the young girl while running her eyes up and down Hashirama's frame.
"Wh-what NO!" Ruby exclaimed flustered and pushed herself off of Yang. "Ahem, he's a guy I found in the woods while I was hunting some grim," she explained as if that naturally explained the strange man to yang.
Hashirama decided it was a good time now to intervene, "Yes hello, my name is Hashirma and I was lost in the forest, Ruby was nice enough to bring me here, and if there's nothing else, I'd be happy to go on my way," he said before he heard a noise inside. "Do I hear a guy's voice out there?" A distinctly older male voice was heard and then some shuffling followed by a few quiet curses before feet tapping against the floor as Ruby's father appeared in the doorway. "Hello, my name is Hashirama, I was lost in the forest and Ruby led me here, I'll be on my way if there's nothing else," Hashirama repeated, not wanting to go through the whole process again.
Taiyang stared at the young man in front of him who looked to be about Yang's age. He had broad shoulders and long black hair as well as wearing some rather ornate-looking armor which he guessed must have been inspired by the continents over the sea. He smiled after he finished talking and Taiyang sighed. "Well, it's rather late so why don't you have dinner first, you don't seem to be a bad person and it's not every day that our little Ruby brings someone home," he finished with a tease at his daughter.
Hashirma was surprised at the sudden invitation but was grateful for it nonetheless. From where he had grown up, casually inviting someone into your home could lead to a knife puncturing your throat as you slept or being forced to give immunity if any pursuers were in the area. However, it seemed that in this strange new world, it was safer, excluding those black beasts, and Hashirama may finally have a chance to relax and enjoy his new life with the people he would meet.
He sat down at the dinner table and was served a steaming bowl of ramen, the blond girl Yang was also given a bowl as was her father. Ruby started bouncing up and down in place on her chair as a singular cookie was given to her. "You can have the rest after dinner," Taiyang said as he placed down the final bowl. The family started eating and Hashirama joined in shortly after saying his thanks for the food. "So tell me…"
"Senju Hashirama" he said in between bites
"Oh, I thought your name was Hashirama? Where did you come from and what happened to you that my daughter would find you in the forest?" Taiyang asked the mysterious stranger.
"Well in my culture, it is customary to introduce oneself with your last name, though I guess it would be easiest to address me as Hashirama. I'm from across the seas, I was raised in a hidden village that was constantly at war with others," Hashirama decided for now that he could fabricate some lies mixed in with half-truths. After all, you don't get to become one of the most legendary shinobi in history without knowing how to sprinkle in some deception here and there. He had kept the secret of being a shinobi from his best friend for months and that was when he was only a child. "Please allow me to ask you, what is this place, you see, my village was excessively secretive and so I have zero knowledge about the wider world." The sound of loud slurping interrupted him though as Yang shoveled the Ramen down her throat almost comically before taking a huge gulp and staring at him.
"Hey, enough boring talk, for now, let's spar a bit, I mean, you managed to survive in that forest so you've gotta have some skill right?" She asked while smirking and cracking her knuckles. "Plus, if you do anything to my baby Ruby, I need to know how much I can hit you so that you don't break." She quickly got ready and headed outside.
Hashirama sighed before looking over at Taiyang. "Well, I guess we'll have to finish this conversation later. I'll make sure not to hurt her so badly," He said while standing up which made Ruby scoff. Yang was the strongest fighter she knew, well besides for the girl on the cereal boxes her dad sometimes brought back, but still.
So the three of them headed outside to see Yang already warming up against a tree, each punch and kick making the entire tree rustle and Hashirama could see the energy around Yang almost cushioning her hands and feet as they not only provided defense but also seemed to give her a much more powerful offense compared to the civilians that inhabited the Hidden Leaf.
"Oh good, I thought you weren't gonna show up," Yang taunted with a smirk. Taiyang led the 4 of them to the practice field that they always used. "Ok so, Hashirama, i'm not sure what kind of training you have, but for this fight, no weapons since we don't need someone getting hurt, and you can either give up, or if I feel like you're no longer in condition to fight, I will personally end it myself. Is that clear to both of you?" He asked while crossing his arms. After receiving two nods, he walked to the edge of the field. "Begin," he yelled as Yang raced towards Hashirama.
Ok fine, since it's been a while I'll give you the fight scene
Yang flew towards Hashirama, her eyes glowing red as she held her hands by her side, providing the least amount of air resistance. She watched attentively as Hashirama just stood there relaxed, his arms loosely hanging by his sides as the distance between them closed rapidly. Anger fueled her at the thought that he wasn't taking her seriously and at the last moment, she brought up her fist, momentum carrying her as she threw a right hook, aiming for his nose.
A loud impact was heard by both Ruby and Taiyang as the punch landed solid. Solidly against Hashirama's palm. The movement was so fast, in one moment, Yang looked like she was going to send him flying backward, and the next Hashirama had stopped it dead in its tracks. It reminded all of them of when their dad and Crow would train them and easily block or parry their weak attacks. But that was impossible, Yang had trained almost her entire life to be a fighter, this must be some kind of trick right?
Hashirama stood there expectantly, ready for a counter-attack at any moment, he could tell instantly that he was going against a strong fighter who liked to get up close and personal with her opponents. She had rushed him, and though it was a little slow, he had managed to block her feint attack and was prepared for the real attack that he assumed would come from her legs, but when she just stood there looking up at him confused and a little scared, he wondered if that really was her trying her hardest to hit him. Still, Hashirama took advantage of her lapse of concentration and balled up his right hand before sending a straight hook into Yang's stomach. He was met with a lot more resistance than he anticipated, the energy surrounding Yang shifted, providing an almost living armor for her as it managed to take 50% of the power from his blow, still the force could not be stopped as she was sent flying but managed to right herself midair and landed on her feet, skidding almost a foot back as she stopped her momentum.
Yang didn't understand, hand to hand was her bread and butter, if she wasn't crazily obsessed with her hair, then fighting would be a close second. Still Hashirama had blocked it easily and that hit she just took felt like getting stomped on by an Ursa. She righted himself and looked at the spot where he stood, arms back by his side as if nothing had happened. Angrily she activated her aura, hair standing up as she rushed him again, unleashing a combination of kicks, punches, and swings. To the normal eye, it would be impossible to defend against as ever her dad sometimes couldn't keep up with the barrage of attacks she let out, especially when he accidentally cut her hair, though she watched in awe as Hashirama blocked each and every one of her attacks in quick and efficient succession, primarily using just his right hand, but sometimes using his leg to halt her kicks before she could deliver a blow. Suddenly she felt another blow, this time from behind as Hashirama grabbed her head and slammed it into the ground.
It took him by surprise when Yang's hair had suddenly burst into flames, but when she came to attack, he realized just how unpolished her moves were, each wasting far too much effort and energy as he easily blocked and parried all of her moves. Deciding it was time to finish this, however, he blitzed her, easily getting behind her before she could even notice and far faster than she could react, slammed her into the ground, not enough to knock her out, but more than enough to give her a headache and some dizzy sights for a while.
"Well, guess that's it."
Sorry again for it taking so long for a second chapter. I actually had the first paragraph written for like 4 months but never got around to finishing the second paragraph. Still wanting a beta reader as right now I just ask a friend to do it, but again, all reviews are appreciated. If there's anything you'd like me to fix, let me know. This was my first time doing a fight scene between characters but I really wanted to fixate on just how much more power and experience Hashirama has on pre-season 1 Yang. From chapter one and going forward, I don't think Hashirama will be paired with anyone, but if enough people demand it, then we'll see. I'd like to know if Hashirama can replace Jaun, it seems easy enough, though I'm not sure if it's in his nature to steal it. Oh well, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, snide remarks, I'll take them all into account as best I can or throw them into the oven and eat it with maple syrup. Expect more recent uploads from now on and I hope to see you all again soon!
