Izuku gulped, his face paling. If the Hero Killer was after him, he was as good as dead. Slowly, Izuku left the station, trying to formulate a plan. His safest bet would be running as far as he could, but most likely the Hero Killer would live up to his name. Meanwhile, if Izuku hunted down the Hero Killer and took him down first, less heroes would die.
Izuku, of course, might die. The only way he took down Stain before was with Shoto and Tenya, and all three of them still got hurt.
But that was a while ago. Now, Izuku was one of the most formidable heroes in Japan. Now that he had learned more about his quirk, and he had trained, he might be able to take on Stain.
After shaking off his fear, Izuku left the bus stop.
He walked towards Gran Torino's house, his legs shaking with every step. He reached the door, then knocked on it.
There was no reply. A recorded voice message then played, which scared the crap out of Izuku.
"If I did not answer the door," The voice said, "then I either don't want to talk to you or I'm out buying grub. Try again later."
Izuku sighed, then pressed the doorbell again. The same reply, with no difference in the voice.
"I guess I'll come back tomorrow." Izuku said to himself. "In the meantime, I should really see what's going on with Stain."
He walked towards the nearest newsstand, where the daily newspaper would most likely have information.
Izuku started to read the paper as soon as he took it. From what he could tell, Stain had broken out of jail, killed five officers, then...disappeared. Apparently there were three heroes chasing him, and one of them was killed.
The article directly after the one about Stain shocked Izuku even more. The title read:
Class 1-A at UA High Losses First Student, teachers say
The article was typical clickbait, because the term 'Losses' here makes it seem that a student was killed. In reality, Izuku just left.
He inhaled, then walked away slowly. He didn't notice that two girls started following him.
A/N
I know that OCs are generally not really part of my MHA stories (besides the oneshots), but I really got a good idea, so I'm adding two. (Those are the two girls that followed Izuku BTW)
The concept art for the OCs are on my youtube channel. (Under the name 'Broken Mask07')
It was now nightfall, and Izuku was sitting on a vacant bench. He would most likely sleep there, just so he wouldn't have to use money renting a hotel.
There was suddenly a tap on Izuku's shoulder. Confused, the green-haired boy turned around. Facing him now we're two girls, identical besides their hair colors. One was a brilliant blue, and the other was a bright orange.
"Hi!" The one with blue hair squealed. "Do you happen to be Izuku? The former U.A. student?"
Izuku nodded, "Yes, I am. Who's asking?"
"I'm Emma, and this is Anna." The one with the orange hair said. "Excuse my sister. She's...stupid."
"I AM NOT!" Anna roared.
Izuku held up his hands. "What'd you guys want?"
"To save your life." Emma said crisply. "Stain is after you and you can't take him on alone."
"She also likes you-" Anna interjected. Emma quickly turned, blushing, then kneed her sister in the leg.
"Shut up!" She hissed. "Anyway we were wondering if you would team up with us."
Izuku raised an eyebrow. "Why would I do that?"
"Listen," Emma said slowly. "We both need each other. For protection and community."
Izuku nodded slowly. "I might as well. I don't have anywhere else to go, anyways."
Anna smiled. "Yay! Come with us, we'll show you our shelter!"
Izuku took a deep breath, then followed them.
"And here is our house!" Anna announced as they walked into an alleyway. There was a small hut, made from scraps of tin and fabric. It's certainly better than sleeping on a bench, Izuku thought.
Emma walked inside, stopping down so her orange hair wouldn't catch on the doorframe.
"Come on in." She said.
After all three of them were inside, Anna yawned and layed down. After she fell asleep, izuku started to talk.
"So, why did you single me out? I'm not that special or anything."
Emma stared him right in the eyes and replied. "Yes, you are. You have One for All, and are probably one of the last users."
"How'd you know?"
"You would be surprised." She remarked. "When I was younger, I used to read a lot to avoid people. I was reading a story about One for All and how it changed the world, and I figured out that you had it."
"Why didn't you interact with people?" Izuku asked. Then, he quickly added: "If you don't want to say it's ok."
"It's fine." She drew in a deep breath and pushed her hair back. "I was born quirkless, and I still am. I got bullied a lot, and reading was my only escape."
Izuku nodded slowly. "I was quirkless too, but I got my quirk." The hero inwardly scolded himself for revealing his secret, but she already knew so much. A little extra information wouldn't hurt, would it?
Emma smiled. "That's pretty cool. So were your parents quirkless or was it just the rare occasion?"
"My father could breathe fire and my mother could move small objects without touching them." Izuku teared up, "When I was younger, I tried everything I could to see if I had a superpower. I tried breathing fire, I tried moving objects, nothing worked. I guess I just couldn't accept that I was part of the 20%, although the percentage is much lower now."
Emma wiped her own tears away. "That...that touched me." She took in a deep breath, then smiled sadly. "I tried doing that too. My sister can filter the air she breathes, and one time I gave myself carbon poisoning while trying to do it. I didn't ever meet my parents, but my DNA shows that my dad was quirkless. My mom, she probably had a quirk similar to my sister's."
After she finished speaking, Emma layed down on the ground and rested her head on a rolled-up cloak.
Izuku layed down himself, slowly turning over so he was facing the wall. Unusually for this season, the night air was pretty chilly. Because Izuku was used to sleeping in a dorm room, he was shivering.
"You aren't used to the cold." Emma stated. "Here, stay still."
Izuku obeyed and slowly felt Emma wrap her hands around his chest. "I hope this helps." She said slowly. "Maybe tomorrow I can get you some blankets."
Izuku woke up halfway through the night. He wondered what had woken him, then heard Emma slightly sobbing.
"Emma?" he asked. She was asleep, her arms still clutched around Izuku. Izuku slowly moved Emma over until they were face-to-face.
He rested his hand on her face and pulled her clothes, all the while comforting her.
The same night, at the Japanese Hero Board. (This place was made up by me, I am not sure if MHA cannon has this.)
The man at the head of the table stood up, interrupting the large argument that broke out between the board members.
"Listen!" He yelled. "You may be arguing over Stain's breakout, but I have worse news." He paused for a dramatic effect, "A few hours ago, police found the bodies of Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods. Their wounds show that Stain did it, and they will be sorely missed."
"Isn't he after Midoryia?" Another board member questioned.
"Yes, but I believe he's sending a message. Stain has gotten much, much stronger since he was captured. If he is choosing to wait until he goes after Izuku, he must be trying to either wear down our forces, or, trying to keep us from sending people after him."
Suddenly there was a large crash and the window at the roof shattered. A man dressed in old, hole-filled clothes landed on the table.
"Stain!" The man cried. "All guards! Kill him NOW!"
"Not a chance." Stain replied.
The last thing that man felt was a knife passing through his ribcage.
