It was late afternoon when Tetsuo woke up from his sleep. Looking around, he found his surroundings to be unknown, at least until he was fully aware of his situation and the happening of the day came to his mind.

He had finally finished his journey towards Orario and got pretty lucky, finding a god to serve on his first day. He had been afraid that he'd have a hard time finding one he was after all a young man with only the things that he was wearing to his name.

Remembering the thought he had before he slept, the boy went looking for his goddess, he believed that it wouldn't be a hard task, since the house they were in wasn't a big one.

And he was right, he found her within the other bedroom, this one had its door just beside his own chambers. Both rooms were very similar, the only difference was that the one used by the goddess had a door within it that led to a bathroom.

Tsukuyomi was laid in her bed, her back was turned to the door so Tetsuo couldn't see if she was sleeping. So he carefully stepped around the bed, his training turning to be useful as he didn't make any noise with his movements.

When he got to the other side of the bed he saw that his goddess wasn't asleep, she was simply laying there open-eyed staring at the window that he now covered with his body.

"You're up! Did you sleep well?" Her words were warm, such warmth was a new thing for the boy.

"Yes, my apologies for doing as such. I had walked the whole previous night, so I couldn't control my body when I laid in such a comfortable bed." The boy was already doing a ninety-degree bow to the deity.

Tsukuyomi wasn't expecting that. He had been so different during the morning, nowhere near as formal as he was being now.

"You don't have to talk like that. We are a family now, I want you to be comfortable. Don't be so cold with me... Please."

The boy looked up, no longer in a bowing position, he could see that the goddess had sat up and was looking longingly at him. "I'm… sorry. I… thought that it would be better to treat you like the deities in the Far East like to be treated." He murmured.

The bluenette smiled, got up, and hugged her child.

"You don't have to be sorry. I just want you to know that you'll only have to be this formal when we have others visiting us. Also, you're not allowed to call me Tsukuyomi-sama when we're alone."

Tetsuo got off her embrace and questioned. "And how should I call you?"

"Obviously Tsukuyomi, without the sama." She said with both hands on her hips striking a pose.

With an answer like that, Tetsuo didn't have the heart to deny her. All he could do was try and change her mind in the future. After all, how could he not treat his master with the utmost respect?

"Fine, I'll do as my goddess wishes."

"Anyways, turn around, let me copy your statuses. I should have done this earlier, better do it now, it is an important tradition."

The adventurer did so, this time he didn't feel anything. He only realized that the goddess had finished when she gave him a paper with some information in it.

Tetsuo Horie

Level 1

Strength - I-0

Endurance - I-0

Dexterity - I-0

Agility - I-0

Magic - I-0

"This is just like every other new adventurer, so don't feel bad for it all showing zeros." The boy's expression had been one of disappointment when he first saw the paper, however with the deity's words he felt reassured.

"Yosh! This is only encouragement for me to grow, I won't let these stay at zero for long!" His voice showed no trace of his previous feelings, only the burning desire to improve.

"Well, if that's what you want, you'll need to go to the guild and register yourself as an adventurer. We should be able to go there today before they close for the night… And after that, we're going to celebrate, there is this place that serves the best food around, at least that is what I heard from some adventurers."

After getting the boy's acknowledgment, the duo left their home, their destination being the Guild.

The Guild's building was easy to spot, it was the largest of all the buildings in its surroundings, it also had a large number of people leaving and entering, even though it was quite late.

With how busy the establishment was, it was a surprise when their turn to talk with one of the employees came quickly.

"Hello, my name is Misha! How can I help you?" The employee who attended them was a petite human teen, she had pink hair and pink eyes.

"Hello, we'd like to register him as an adventurer." Tsukuyomi was excited, after this it'd be formal, her first child would be recognized by the Guild and, consequently, by everyone else.

"I see… I'll need to get some information from you Mr., but that should be done real quick." Misha was already taking out some papers from below the counter.

Tetsuo didn't want to take too much time from the girl, thus he had brought the papers that he used to enter the city. He gave them to the guild employee and was glad that they'd be of use to her.

"Thanks, these will make it much quicker. You don't mind if we keep them, right?" Her smile showed the relief that she had, her work had just been cut in more than half.

The boy's response was only a shake of his head, that was enough as Misha took the papers and went somewhere else.

"So… Goddess… Where is this place you want to go to?"

Tsukuyomi was quite energetic, she couldn't stay still, this little small talk had some calming effect on her.

"Ah, yes… It is called Hostess of Fertility, it's a bit new, I heard that the food there is amazing!"

Their small talk was interrupted by Misha who had come back with some papers in hand.

"I'll need you to sign these documents, also, can you please tell me your name, Ms. Goddess?"

While Tetsuo was signing the required documents, the goddess turned her attention to the pink-haired woman.

"I am Tsukuyomi, goddess of the Tsukuyomi Familia!" Once again she stroke a small pose, this time she was full of pride in her words.

After all the paperwork was done they were free to go finish their day.

Tsukuyomi's excitement was back in full force once they left the guild's building, she took her child's hand and both walked towards the Tower of Babel, that being the path needed to get to the inn they were going to commemorate in.

The Hostess of Fertility was another easily recognizable building, it was a two story building and those floors were easily discernible to anyone who looked, the noise of chatter coming from the open door was an even bigger giveaway.

When the couple entered through the door one voice stood out.

"Welcome, nya~~! I'm Anya, would you like a table for two nya~?" The girl who said this was a catgirl with brown hair and eyes, she also wore what looked like the uniform of the establishment, a green dress, and a white apron.

Tetsuo was the one to get his bearings first and answer the girl. "Yes please!"

They were led to a smaller table that sat at the corner of the establishment, it was a side that had less noise, a perfect spot for a couple.

"This is your first time here, right nya~?" The waitress said after both were seated.

Their response came in the form of an excited goddess shouting at the girl. "Yes, but I already know what to ask! We want roasted boar, pasta, and tonight's special, also we want two mugs of beer. Today we're celebrating!"

The boy only gave a sorry smile to the catgirl, one she took as acceptance, thus she left them alone.

"Tsukuyomi-sama you're embarrassing us. What they'll think of us?" Tetsuo tried, as discreetly as possible, to warn her. She took a breather and thought about her child's words.

He was right, but it had been a long time since she stopped caring about what others thought, now she wasn't alone anymore so she had to think about how her child would react to her actions.

"You're right Tetsuo-kun… Sorry… I was so excited, I couldn't wait for us to begin celebrating."

Her mood brought the boy down. "Ah… I didn't mean to make you feel bad Goddess… Sorry… It's just how I grew up. My parents were really strict, and they cared too much about saving face."

"I see… In that case, I forgive you and don't worry too much about it. We'll learn what each other likes and dislikes. We'll learn what we can and can't do around one another. That's how relationships are." She held his hand and looked him in the eyes.

"In fact, why don't we get to know each other? I don't think there will be a better time than now."

The adventurer agreed, he didn't know about this goddess, only that she was the sister of Amaterasu and that they had a fight and she was expelled from Amaterasu's lands.

"Yes, if you don't mind Tsukuyomi, I'll start." He waited a bit for her answer. After her nod of approval, he began.

"I was born in the Far East, my father was the head of the Horie Clan, we were a samurai clan that served under lord Susanoo, well the clan still does. I'm the one that doesn't anymore. I was cast out, my father disowned me and that made it so everyone in our lands despised me." Tetsuo couldn't look at Tsukuyomi's eyes, the weight of his past was too much for him.

"You don't have to tell me what you did. Both of us have something that we want to forget, I know how it feels to not want to talk about something." She encouraged.

After taking a deep breath, the boy continued. "With everyone hating me I went to Susanoo-sama and asked him if I should leave and seek redemption in another place."

Their conversation was interrupted by a bluish gray haired waitress, she appeared holding the two mugs of beer and a smile.

"Here are your beers, the food will take a while longer. If you want more you can just me. I'm Syr by the way."

After finishing, she put the mugs on the table and left in a hurry, a few other customers already seemed in a hurry for their orders.

Tetsuo took one of the mugs and drank a bit of it, it was his first time drinking beer, so the bitterness was a bit overwhelming.

After a small cough, he continued his story.

"Susanoo-sama told me to travel west, towards the center of the world, to the city that had the labyrinth, because there I'd find a way to redeem myself."

Tsukuyomi had also started drinking from her mug, she was more used to the taste thus she didn't express a reaction to its taste.

"So my brother sent you here… I wonder if he knew that I had come to Orario, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case."

After another gulp of beer, the teen answered. "I don't know Goddess. He didn't say anything about you or any other deity, all I've found about the gods was through the talks with the merchants that were traveling between here and the Far East."

"Mn… We shouldn't think too long on this, Susanoo was weird." The goddess finished her mug and let out a satisfying sigh.

"Now that you've told me a bit of your story, I should tell you about mine… Hmm, where to begin…"

While Tsukuyomi was thinking, Syr came back, this time with their food and another pair of beer mugs.

The roasted boar smelled incredible, the pasta looked perfect and the day special was a beautifully decorated plate of mashed potatoes and pork with a brown sauce.

The pair decided to wait until they finished their food to continue talking. It didn't take long, the food was so good that they couldn't stop eating, only stopping when there was nothing left to eat.

With the plates emptied, the mugs dry, and their bellies full, the couple decided to go home, and finish their storytelling there.

They stood from their table, and went to the counter that stood in the center of the establishment, there stood a big woman, she was the owner of the business, Mamma Mia, as the regulars called her stood looking over the clients the same way a general would look at a battlefield.

She was short-staffed, only Ayna and Syr working the salon, so she took it upon herself to work security, it was easy for her, one look from a wanna be trouble maker towards her and they would rethink their ideas.

"Hello, we'd like to pay for our meal, it was truly delicious!" The blue-haired goddess gave the Valis required and left holding hands with the black-haired boy.

They left at the sound of invitations to go back, these said by all three staff members present at the saloon.

When they were outside and ready to go back home they got surrounded by five thugs, the men all adorned brown robes that covered them fully, only their eyes and their holstered weapons were in view.

"What do we have here! A pretty girl and a rich-looking boy." One of them started, all five pairs of eyes showed pure greed, some a bit of lust when looking at the blue-haired beauty.

"Now, now boys. This should be pretty easy, while some of us take the girl the others beat up the guy. We'll rotate, it shouldn't be any trouble." Another one continued, his speech drew anticipation laughs from his companions.

With that they began getting closer, the couple couldn't do anything about it, Tetsuo had left their home without his swords, a terrible mistake, and the goddess was as weak as a human her size.

For the five thugs, these were easy prey, even though they were at the main road, it was pretty late, no one would walk there. What they didn't factor was the fact that they were standing in front of an inn, which was full of adventures having a good time.

That only came to then when they started to get taken out by three girls, they were fast and effective. Their strikes, strong and unavoidable. They could do nothing other than beg for mercy.

And when they did they discovered that it was in vain, because those girls were the police force of the city, the Astraea Familia.

Led by a red-haired green-eyed girl, the trio captured the five and got ready to take them away.

Tetsuo and Tsukuyomi didn't see how the situation got resolved, for then one moment they were in trouble, the other the trouble makers were captured. They started to get what was happening when a black-haired girl went to see how they were.

"Are you two okay?" The concern was real, but it didn't feel genuine, it was as if she had done this a lot of times before.

Tetsuo was the first to get a hold of himself, he looked at the girl who had helped them, she was pretty, however, what stood out was her wearing attire.

It had been a while since he hadn't seen one of those, the kimonos were everywhere in the Far East, but in Orario they were practically nonexistent.

His reaction had been noticed by the three saviors, another thing that they saw was the fact that the boy also wore the same type of clothing as the girl.

"You are from the Far East. Did you two move into Orario recently?" This time it was the red-haired girl that asked.

Getting the attention from somewhere else made the boy realize that he had been staring at his savior, so whit red cheeks he turned to the one that had just talked and answered. "Yes, I arrived today. Umm… Thank you for saving us, and yes we are all right."

By this point the third girl, a green-haired elf had finished grouping the five thugs and was now moving to stay close to her companions and talk with the victims.

"In that case, welcome to Orario. I'm Alise Lovell from the Astraea Familia. These are Kaguya Gojouno, my vice-captain, and Ryuu Lion, another member of our familia, we work as the police force of the city."

Tsukuyomi heard her and got control of her body back.

"Mn… Thank you for saving us Lovell-san. I am Tsukuyomi from the Tsukuyomi Familia, this is my child, Tetsuo Horie."

When she finished her greeting, Kaguya, the kimono-wearing girl, became surprised.

"You are from the Horie clan. How come you are in Orario, shouldn't you be protecting Susanoo-sama? Wait, you are with Tsukuyomi-sama, so that must mean that you are her protector." She spoke quickly, enough that the boy couldn't answer her and she ended up creating her own conclusions.

"Ah, yes… Something like that." Tetsuo got uncomfortable, but he managed to hide it well enough for the girls to not notice.

Kaguya seemed satisfied with his answer and with the fact that she had got it right.

"We should get going, we have to take care of those five." Ryuu interrupted their conversation, her two companies agreed with her and the three of them left after saying their goodbyes.

"Let's go home Goddess, it's really late and I want to give the dungeon a try tomorrow. It is time for me to start making money for us."

There weren't any more problems on their way. When they got to their house they each took a quick shower and went straight to bed. This had been one of the most tiring days for the Tsukuyomi Familia.
