Well, i had enough energy to post a second chapter. Don't know about a third, though.
Kenrio- Well, while i appreciate the review, this won't have The Gamer aspects.
"Once again, i apologize for the phone."
Haruto sighed mentally. How many times is this girl going to apologize? He thought. "Its fine." He said.
Akechi also insisted on paying the meal. The owner apparently knew her from the smile on his face and gave her a discount, which was basically 'buy one get one free'.
"I didn't have much in there anyway, so nothing lost. The only thing of probable value was an address, which i memorized." He said.
"Does that have to do with the fact that you're a new student to Shujin?" Akechi asked.
Haruto widened his eyes, staring at the gloved girl in front of him, taking a sip of her coffee. He could see the faint smirk and the glint in her eyes. Who is this chick? Haruto thought. "How do you know im a new student?"
"Well, you're wearing their uniform for starters." She explained. "Also, it looks brand new, meaning you're a new student. Considering you most likely had your phone in your hand means you were looking for something, and if you add the suitcase, most likely the place you would be staying while studying at Shujin? Do tell me if im wrong."
Haruto opened and closes his mouth in shock, no coherent words coming out of it, just sounds. "Are you a detective or something?" He asked
Akechi giggled. "You really don't know who i am, do you?" She asked.
Haruto looked at her, trying to remember if he has seen her somewhere. He definitely doesn't know her personally, so she might be a celebrity.
Goro Akechi… Where has he heard that name before… He facepalmed when he realized who it was
"You're the Detective Princess…" He said.
"That is correct. Though i would hope they would pick a better nickname…"
"Well, they can't call you Detective Prince for… several reasons." Haruto said. That title already belongs to someone else.
"True enough." Akechi said. "Though i am surprised. I think you are the first person i met who doesn't recognize me. At least someone around my age."
"Im not big on celebrities." Haruto said shrugging.
"I suppose not everyone is." Akechi said. "Though, getting back on point. Why are you transfering to Shujin? Its not exactly a prestigious school, no matter how famous it may seem."
"It was the only place that i could go to." Haruto said, thinking he could satisfy her curiosity.
By the glint in her eyes, it clearly didn't. "Could? Not would?" She said, keeping attention to the details.
Haruto groaned on the inside. Of course the first person he encounters is a freaking cop. It doesn't look like she is going to get off his back and if he just lies, she could just follow him or track him down and get some answers, so might as well come clean. "Does the name Tohru Adachi ring any bells?" He asked
Akechi seemed to think for a bit. "I believe so. If i remember correctly, he was convicted of the mysterious murders that happened in Inaba 7 years ago." She said, before realizing something. "Wait a minute…"
"Yup, he was my older brother." Haruto said with a frown..
"I see…" Akechi said, her smile disappearing, a serious look on her face. "Forgive i fim being too forward, but could you tell me more? I was always curious about this case since the report didn't specify how he caused these deaths."
Haruto chuckled. "You know as much as i do about the cause of death. I had no idea how he did it, considering the only dangerous weapon he had was his gun and he certainly didn't shot them." He answered. "Hell, i didn't even know he was the murderer until his partner, Dojima-san, told me in the face. However, some people didn't like that answer…"
Akechi stayed silent, listening as Haruto continued.
"No matter what i said, the police, my parents, and everyone else thought of me as some psycho, like Tohru managed to brainwash me with his crazy ideas. I was sent to a therapist, where, and i quote, 'refused to cooperate'. Honestly, i didn't even expect to finish high school and the minute i turned 18, i would be thrown out. That was until my parents received a call."
"A call? From who?" Akechi asked, curious.
"I have no idea. The only thing i knew was that his name was Iwai. He offered to take care of me while i finished high school. I don't know what he told my parents, but he managed to convince them and a few weeks later, i was on the next train to Shibuya."
"Is that who you are meeting?" Akechi asked again.
"Yep. That is until i literally bumped into you." Haruto joked before sighing. "So, now that you found out who i am, what are you gonna do? You probably could arrest me on the charges of assault."
"I know your past with the police hasn't been pleasant, but i can assure you im not someone who will arrest someone based on the actions of someone else." Akechi said. "As a matter of fact, you and i share something in common."
"Oh really?" This time, it was Haruto that was curious.
"Yes. Lets just say the relationship with my family isn't exactly pleasant." Akechi said. Haruto noticed the grip on her cup of coffee was tightening, to the point a small crack was forming. Whatever it was, it was something bad.
"Perhaps you could tell me another time?" Haruto asked.
The girl perked up. "Another time?"
"Well, its nice talking to someone that doesn't treat me like a crazy person." He answered with a smirk. "That and this is dessert is amazing."
Akechi giggled. "I look forward to it."
They continued their meal, talking about more normal topics. How Haruto forgot how the big the city was and what changed since he was last here. He was also looking forward to using the internet again and not having to wait a century for the page to load. Akechi recommended a few shows to watch, in case they want to discuss. Then they talked about Akechi life. How she was forced to create a blog by her higher-ups, claiming for her to be connected to her fans. She mostly didn't know what to talk about. She would just talk about her day (without talking about a case), or a book she is currently reading. She would try and give her fans some puzzles, laughing at the idea of them racking their brains over the answer just to please her.
They didn't need to hide their disdain of the adults.
After their meal, they walked a bit to Central Street, back where they bumped into each other. "I must say Haruto, its a bit refreshing being able to talk to someone who doesn't undermine me or tries to get under my skirt." Akechi said.
"The feeling is the same. Well, the first part at least. You're probably the first cop who saw me for who i was, rather than who i was related to." Haruto answered.
Akechi smiled, before it turned into a frown. "Say, Haruto… you are going to Shujin tomorrow, correct? Are you going to go there by train?"
Haruto thought for a moment. "It is possible, though Iwai might take me there by car, if he even has one." Haruto noticed some sort of surprise on her face. For some reason he found it odd. "Why do you ask? Do you want to meet up or something?"
"Y-Yes, precisely. I have something to do in the area and afterwards, i have some free time." She explained.
"And are you sure you want to spend it with someone like me?" He asked with a smirk.
"Its either that or having to deal with more paperwork." She said, chuckling.
"I will have to see with Iwai, but its fine by me." Haruto said.
"Then lets exchange contact information, just in case." Akechi suggested, taking her phone out.
"Well, first contact i have on my phone that isn't my parents and its with a beautful girl." Haruto joked, taking his phone out as well, until he realized how depressing he sounded. "Uh, sorry about that."
Akechi coughed into her hand, blushing, though Haruto couldn't figure out from what. "Its fine." She said.
They quickly exchanged their numbers and bid farewell.
Akechi was deep in thought as she walked to the station. Haruto Adachi… She thought.
I like him.
Really? You? She asked her other self, Loki.
Hey, im basically you, so if you find him interested, i find him interested. Though from what im feeling, i think you might find him… more interesting~~.
Akechi stopped, frowning, a small blush on her cheeks. Its not like that. Its who he was that i found interesting intriguing.
Suuuuuuure. And i never tried to kill my brother as a snake. Anyway, ya think he has the same gift as you?
Don't know. Unless he shows me the app, he most likely telling the truth and is nothing like his brother. And even if does have the app, theres no proof he has the same powers as me.
You're not thinking of recruiting him, are you?
Again, i don't know. I'll have to meet him again to make sure.
Oh? Does this mean you're actually interested in meeting him again?
I guess i am… Gah!
Akechi held her chest, specifically her heart, feeling somethin poking ati t.
Kid! Is something… Loki seemed to pause at something. What the…
I am thou… thou art i
Thou hast acquired a new vow.
It shall become the wings of rebellion that breaketh thy chains of captivity.
With the birth of the Hunger Persona, i have obtained the winds of blessing that shall lead to freedom and new power…
Akechi imagined a card in front of her, with Haruto face in front of it.
Then it disappeared, alongisde the pain. What the fuck was that!? She asked Loki, who didn't respond. Loki? You there?
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!?
Haruto was back in Central Street, looking for the place. Thankfully, the new phone had Maps, which helped a lot. Apparently the place he was looking for was in an alleyway, so he quickly headed there.
He found the place, with a green neon sign on top, nicknamed 'Untouchable'. Why does someone have a shop hidden? Haruto thought, before going in.
I have already decided on which Persona im going to give Haruto. If you know the story behind Izanagi, then it also be pretty obvious
