The Scott Home
Lucas plated the breakfast for today. On three seperate plates. French . Bacon. A newly opened syrup bottle nearby. The kitchen was cluttered but clean in terms of color and space. Near the dining room table was a sliding door that lead out to the backyard. The patio area and fenced in backyard. There was a play area that the boys used often. A swimset, slide, a seating area for when they needed a snack and drink. The basketball hoop hung high on the driveway. The garage could fit two cars.
A requirement Lucas had when buying the home was that it had to be in walking distance to stores and his friends and family. Which is was. Whenever his sons wanted to see their aunt, uncle, or grandparents. They could just walk over. He loved and appreciated this sense of community more then he could express.
"So how was you're night.?" Nathan asked.
"I knew it. You didn't come over here to spent time with you're nephews. You came here to get information and bring it back to Haley." Lucas replied.
"Maybe. And bacon. I'm curious about you're night off." Nathan said.
"I just dropped Leo, Larry, Jamie and Lydia off at school. What did i miss.?" Haley James Scott asked. Smiling happily as she entered through the kitchen backdoor of her best friend.
"Nothing. He hasn't told me a thing which makes you're timing perfect." Nathan replied.
"My night was borning until i met this woman."
"Her name is Brooke. Dark, flowing hair, hazel eyes, So stunning. The red dress she had on. Her body. Everyone else at Tric fell away." Lucas revealed. A grin coming across his face.
"Clearly this woman made an impression. The look on you're face spells that out." Haley said.
"She only gave you her first name.? That's weird what is she hiding.?" Nathan asked.
Lucas became instantly defensive.
"Nothing i'm sure she was just playing around. I've been going to Single's night at that place for years. She just showed up there or maybe i only noticed her last night. I need to head into the office meet with my writing team for a brainstorming session. I'll see the two of you later." Lucas announced. Leaving out the kitchen back door.
The couple shared a knowing look.
"We haven't seen him this excited about anyone in a long time. Maybe we shouldn't meddle leave it alone. See how it plays out.?" Nathan suggested.
"Rachel's death put him into a dark place. For years. He only got out of that and started living again because of Larry and Leo. They loved each other but neither of them put their prides asides to admit it and actually try to be a couple. There is no harm in a random encounter with some woman he's probably never gonna see again."
"I have students to teach and you have to get to the gym for practice with you're game coming up later in the week." Haley stated.
Nathan took her hand in hers. And lead the way out of the home. Locking up on the way out.

Clothes Over Bros
"You need to change the name of you're fashion line."
"Clothes over bros sounds so high school meets college. Brooke Davis Inc. Sounds so much better." Victoria Davis announced.
"You're mother is right Cookie. You are trying to build a long lasting empire. You need a strong original name. Something that stands out." Ted interjected.
Brooke glared at her parents. "I appreciate the suggestions. But i don't help with this decision. Clothes over bros is staying. I have more then enough money. I'm not concerned about my fanbase or the loyalty i have with my business partners."
"Why did the two of you seriously call this meeting.? At my store during my lunch hour.?" Brooke asked.
The couple looked to each other and then back at their daughter.
"You're brother Kennedy. He got expelled. And will not be allowed to step foot on a college campus for a least a few years if ever again." Ted informed her.
"He had his things removed from the dorm and he isn't allowed to come back and live with us. If he calls or text you. Don't pick up. We are cutting off contact until he get's his life together."
"We've given the both of you everything and beyond. You've made something out of yourself. Kennedy is choosing to be a humiliation. Let's see how he handles life without the cushion of being a Davis." Victoria proclaimed.
"I got the message loud and clear. No contact. He is on his own until further notice." Brooke recited.
The high profile couple joined hands and made their way out of the clothing store.
Brooke walked over locking the door and flipping the sign from open to closed.
When she heard the door to her back office open. She handed over a bag of take out food.
Kennedy Davis appeared. Clutching the bag in his hands. Looking up at his sister with adoring eyes.
"Thank you Brookie. I don't know what i would do without you." He proclaimed.
She placed a copy of her house keys on the end table.
"You would be in the streets. You heard what Victoria and Ted said. You need to get you're life together. I shouldn't be sticking my nevk out like this. But we're gone through alot together. I wasn't going to leave you alone." Brooke replied.
"Eat up then go to this address. That key will open the door. Shower and change into a more clean outfit. You can stay there until you figure out what is next." Brooke instructed.
Kennedy Theodore Davis. Age 20. He was thin. Handsome. Hazel eyes. Chocolate brown hair. He was youngest Davis sibling. Unlike his sister. Kennedy was lost and unsure what path in life to take. He had been given the best opportunities but none of lead to success. He knew what his parents truly thought of them.
He never stuck around anywhere long. He found himself mixed up with women he should of avoided. Drugs, alcohol, and getting into trouble he couldn't outrun.
There was 12 years between him and Brooke. He took on the role of caretaker for him since he was born. That her her baby. Her partner in life. No one understood him the way Brooke did.
"Things are going to be different this time Brooke. I promise." Kennedy proclaimed.
Brooke sighed deeply. "You've said that alot. Our parents washed their hands of you a long time. I can't do that. I won't. Because i love you. You could do and become anything you want. You're smart, capable, and talented. At some point you have to let the world see that." She said.
She watched as he left her store. Knowing she had a business meeting a needed to clear mind. When she lingered on thoughts of Kennedy it consumed her.
...
Sometime Later
With her latest business deal a success she was going to treat herself to lunch and simply indulge.
She was lead by the waiter to one of the few back tables.
Brooke smiled as she saw who was already seated and looking at a menu just a table away.
She walked over and sat down in the empty seat.
"Care for some company or would you rather eat alone.?" Brooke asked.
Lucas put down his menu and smiled shyly.
On the surface he was reserved and composed. But inside he was doing backflips and cheering.
"Brooke. It depends on the company. What they have to offer and whether or not i'm interested." Lucas replied.
"I'm offering. Myself. For us to share a meal. We don't have to talk. Just sit across from each other. What do you think.?" Brooke questioned.
"Go right ahead. If you want too. I couldn't care less either way." Lucas said. Trying to play it cool.
Brooke placed down her purse and grabbed ahold of a spare menu.
When the waitress came over she took their orders.
"A Cobb plate salad; ham bits, eggs, lettuce, blue cheese bits, cheddar cheese shavings, with ranch dressing on the side. A peach iced tea. Little ice and two sugars." Brooke said. Before handing off her menu.
"Classic Cheeseburger. A lemon iced tea. 3 sugars no ice. Fries on the side. Thanks." Lucas said. Before handing off his menu.
Once the waitress rushed back into the kitchen.
The two stared at each other then looked away.
"Feel free to tell me you're last name anytime. I want to get to know but i can't do that if we don't know basic information about each other. I don't chase people or play games. I don't date just to date."
"I date to find the right person and build from there." Lucas stated.
"I like playing games. When they involve handcuffs, paint, or edible things." Brooke teased.
"Finding a man who is straight forward and stable is a huge deal to me. I may seem rough and tough on the outside. Which i am for the most part but the truth is i'm not experienced in being emotionally vulnerable. That requires revealing aspects of yourself that are normally hidden and tears. I've never felt safe enough with a man to to do that. What makes you any different then the rest of them.?" Brooke questioned.
"I guess that's up to you to figure out if you're open to it. If not i'll see you around Brooke." Lucas said.
Brooke hadn't realized they had already their meals. They were too busy talking. She felt herself close up. What was it with this guy.? The affect he had over her.? She didn't understand it.
Brooke watched as Lucas left a tip for the waitress. And reached out taking his large hand in hers.
After digging through her purse. She found a pen and started to write. When she finished she let go of him.
"See you around Lucas Scott." Brooke said. As she grabbed her stuff and exited the restaurant first.
Lucas waited until he was in his car before he looked at the writing on his hand.
A smile went across his face as he read it.
