Hinata stood in front of the Fire Fountain.
Lee had promised her a surprise.
Her eyes were covered, but her senses were heightened.
Hinata sensed his Firebending, the strange chakra as he lit the lamps. She opened her mouth to accuse him, but he took her hands from her eyes.
Lee had made it beautiful
Hinata's mouth opened and closed again.
"I-It's beautiful." She whispered.
She looked at Lee in a new light. Whatever he was, maybe he wasn't an enemy. Maybe fire could be beautiful and not destructive.
Hinata had been thinking too much of people like Sasuke, who wielded fire and started wars.
Hinata allowed Lee to pull her in his arms. "I love your eyes, Hinata."
She felt herself leaning towards him.
This was her world now. It was ok to move on.
Their lips touched, and Hinata realized she could feel love for Lee, despite missing Naruto.
Unfortunately, fate is fickle, and after that perfect night, all hell broke loose.
Hinata was to learn her instincts were right about Lee, and about Fire.
