CHAPTER 2
As the years passed Arthur grew. He was a troublesome child but Catelyn managed to keep him right. While growing up Ned noticed that Arthur was a prodigy with a sword, so he trained Arthur in the way of the sword. He also found out that Arthur was a terrible archer. As he continued to grow, he built a reputation for himself as a master swords man and a master at sea. Arthur was well known around The Narrow and Shivering Sea as the Sea wolf. When Ned and Caitlyn found out about Arthur's abilities they took them as a blessing from the gods but chose to keep it a secret within the family for fear of Arthur's life.
Winterfell
Right now the brothers were in the castle courtyard teaching Brandon how to shoot an arrow. Brandon released an arrow and missed. Arthur couldn't take seeing the sad face on his younger brother's face anymore. He walked towards Brandon and put his arm around him.
"Come on Bran," Arthur said cheerfully "You can do it and... fathers watching you." Brandon looked behind to see his father and mother watching him. Brandon took another arrow ad released it. The arrow this time went over the target. Arthur, Jon and Rickkon couldn't hold it in any more. The laughed at him while Robb turned to the side and released a few chuckles.
"Bran... even I'm not that bad at archery and I suck," Arthur said between laughs.
"And which one of you got a maximum ten," Ned asked his sons.
"No one," Arthur said with a smile "But at least we didn't hit maximum zero like Bran over here." The boys started laughing again but much louder this time.
"Don't worry Bran," Ned told his son "Just keep practicing, now go on."
"Don't think too much Bran," Jon told his younger half-brother. Brandon took another arrow and held it firmly.
"Relax your bow arm," Robb told his younger brother. Brandon took in a deep breath . Everyone was watching silently when an arrow flew by and hit the bull's-eye. Everyone turned around and standing there was Arya with a bow in her hand.
"Nice one little wolf," Arthur said to Arya. Arya then did a courtesy. Brandon then dropped his bow and chased after Arya.
"Run Bran faster," Robb while laughing.
"Don't you find it intimidating that our younger sister is a better than all of us?" Arthur asked his siblings.
"Maybe," Robb said in a serious voice. They then looked at each other and started laughing.
"Lord Stark, milady," a messenger said "The guards men just rolled in saying the caught a deserter from the Nights Watch."
"Get the lads to saddle their horses," Ned told Theon.
"Do you have to?" Catelyn asked her husband.
"We swore an oath Cat," Ned told Catelyn.
"Law is law milady," the messenger said.
"Tell Bran his coming too," Ned told the messenger. The messenger nodded his head and left.
"Ned ten is too young to see these things," Catelyn told her husband.
"He won't be a boy forever Cat," Ned said "And winter is coming." He then walked away. Catelyn watched him walk away for a few minutes before she turned around and watched Jon put arrows into a basket. Jon felt someone's eyes on him, so he lifted his head and his brown eyes met Catelyn's green ones. They kept on staring at each other until Jon looked away and continued with his work.
Hills close to Winterfell
There were Stark guards surrounding the hill Arthur and his brothers stood by. Arthur right now was trying to convince his father to let Brandon go back to the castle. But his father was stubborn as mule.
"Father," Arthur said "Bran's too young to see this."
"I'll tell you what I told your mother," Ned said "He won't be a boy forever and you know it." Arthur right now was trying to control his temper. As Percy Jackson he was forced to grow up so that he could fight for the gods, he promised himself he wouldn't let anyone go through it if he could stop it.
"Father let one of the guards take him to the castle," Arthur pleaded with his father "Next time I'll bring Bran myself I promise."
"Fine," Ned said. He then waved his hands for one of the guards to take Brandon back.
"Hey when I get back I'll teach you how to swing a sword," Arthur said while ruffling Brandon's hair.
"I know how swing a sword," Brandon said with his arms crossed.
"You sure?" Jon asked. They both smiled when Brandon didn't reply. The guard then came over with a horse and rode away with him. Then in the distance Arthur could see two Stark guards pushing man in front of them. They then brought him up to my father. I could see the fear in his eyes as he looked at my father.
"I never broke my oath," the man said in short breaths "And I'm not a deserter, I should have gone back to the wall and warn them...but...what I saw...I saw the White Walkers." After he said a few more words my father gave a nod to the two guards holding him to make him knell across the wood. My father then drew out the sword meant to behead the deserter.
"Forgive me lord," the man said. My father then said the wordings.
"In the name of Robert of the house Baratheon First of his name, King of the Andles and the First men, Lord of the seven kingdoms, Protector of the Realm "he said "I Eddard of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and warden of the north sentence you to die." My father then lifted the sword and cut off the man's head. There was silence except the neighing of the horses. I could see no one here took pleasure in killing or the death of others. I couldn't stand the sight anymore. I walked away and mounted my horse Nightshade.
On our way home we came across a dead dear. It was a gruesome sight. Our father led us down a path till we found a dead animal with pups around it.
"It's a freak," Theon said. Is he dumb we could clear see it was wolf even if it was rotting and had maggots on it.
"No," my father said "It's a dire wolf."
"There are no dire wolves out of the wall," Robb said.
"Clearly they are," I said sarcastically. I could feel Robb's glare on my back.
"There six," Jon said while lifting one of the pups up.
"Where will the go," Robb asked our father.
"They don't belong down here," one of the men we're travelling with said.
"Even though I'm not leaving these pups here," I said.
"Then what?" Theon asked and I smiled at him.
"We will keep them as pets," I said picking up a black pup.
"Fine," my father said "But you train them yourselves, feed them yourselves and if they die burry them yourselves." We were leaving when Jon suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?" I asked my brother. He didn't respond but knelt down and picked up a snow white wolf pup.
"I guess that one's yours brother," I cheerfully told Jon.
Winterfell(3 days later)
Right now the feast hall was being prepared. Why? Because two days ago Ned received a crow telling him that the King and the royal family would be coming to Winterfell.
Right now my brothers, Theon and I were getting ready for the arrival of the King.
"Why is your mother so dead set on us getting pretty for the King," Jon asked.
"It's for the Queen I bet," Theon said " I hear she's a slick piece of meat."
"I hear that the prince is a right on prick," Robb said. I wasn't going to say anything I wasn't one to gossip.
"Think of all the southerner girls he hits with that royal prick," Theon said. Robb was done with his shaving . I took the seat after Robb left.
"Trim his hair good," Robb said to the hair dresser " I heard mother say it's as wild as the sea."
"No it's not it's just...that arggh." They then went on their merry way to laugh at me.
Courtyard
Right now I was standing between Robb and Sansa as the second oldest. We were waiting for the King and his gang to arrive.
"Where's Arya?" my mother asked us.
"Pretty sure she's playing dress up," I said looking at my mother. Arya wasn't like Sansa. She enjoyed sword training, archery and horse riding. She was my little wolf and favourite sibling. Arya then come running with a helmet on her head by passing our father and mother. I then stopped her and took the helmet off her.
"Not now little pup," I said poking her nose. She then began to glare at me. I could hear both Robb and Jon chuckling at her antics.
"Go on little wolf," I said smiling at her. I then tossed the helmet behind me. I could hear Arya telling Brandon to move. The Kings men then came riding in on their horses. After them was a scrawny blonde kid riding on a horse with a sword I know he didn't know how to use. I then turned my head and could see my little sister staring at the little scare crow. I immediately became defensive and glared at the little shit that was smirking at my sister.
Behind the scare crow more horses came until a carriage finally came in and stopped. Riding behind it was the king himself. Everyone on the court yard went on a knee and bowed their heads. The King did a hand gesture and we all raised.
"Your grace," my father bowed his head to the king in respect. Then my father and the king went on a staring completion until it was broken by the king's statement.
"You've gotten fat," then told my father. I couldn't stop the smile that was forming on my lips . Was he serious. My father just gestured back to him with his eyes. They then both broke out into laughter and hugged each other.
"Cat," the king greeted my mother with a hug.
"Your grace," my mother replied politely. He then went back to my father.
"Nine years I haven't seen you," the King told my father "Where have you been?"
"Guarding the North for you your grace," my father replied. Right then the Queen stepped out of the carriage and walked towards the King. I thought the rumours were exaggerating how beautiful she is. I then heard Arya ask Sansa 'where the imp was.'
"Will you shut up," Sansa told Arya. I moved my head to the side so that I could tell Sansa something.
"Sansa," I said softly "Arya was just asking you a question." She then looked at me and back at Arya. She then sighed.
"I'm sorry Arya," Sansa said softly.
"That's my sister," I said giving her a smile while she gave one in return.
"Who have we here?" the king asked turning his attention to Robb.
"You must be Robb," the King said while giving Robb a firm handshake. He then turned to me.
"The famous Sea wolf and sword prodigy of Winterfell," the King said with a smile " Have you ever considered working in the King's guard?" I could feel my family's eyes on me.
"Sorry my grace but my place is here in Winterfell with my family," I said with a smile " The lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
"I love the loyalty you have for your family," the King said while chuckling.
"Eyee you're a pretty one," he said looking at Sansa while moving towards Arya.
"Your name is?" the King asked Arya.
"Arya," my youngest sister answered.
"Oh show me your muscles?" the King asked Bran. Bran then moved his cloak out of the way and showed him his muscles.
"You'll be a soldier, "the king told Bran.
"That's Jamie Lannister the Queens Twin brother," I heard Arya say. Getting the usual 'will you shut up' from Sansa. The Queen then walked over to my father and held out her arm waiting for my father to kiss it.
"My Queen," both my father and mother said.
"Send me to your crypt I'd like to pay my respects," the King told my father.
"We've been riding for months my love," the Queen told the King "Surely the dead can wait." The King ignored and just asked for my father and left.
God's wood in Winterfell
I usually come to the God's wood to think. Right now I'm thinking about what I've been doing in the past years. Being born again and having my past memories was hard. Even if I had the memories I had to relearn a lot of things. I spent most time building my body to gain back muscle memory and learning to love my new family. Whenever I spoke to my mother she reminded me of my mother in my previous life. Even though she doesn't make blue cookies I still love her a lot. My father is strict but also kind. His the one who taught Robb and I how to sword fight. Couldn't ask for a better father. Robb and I had the normal brother sibling relationship. Even after he found out about my powers he treated me the same.
Sansa, even though she acts all proper and lady like is still wonderful company to have. I have a soft spot for her. She's the first sister I ever had in both lives. So I'm really protective of her. Arya, just her name brought a smile on my face. She reminds me of Thalia so much. She'd rather be sword training with me and Robb than sewing with the other girls. Bran and Rick are my little men. While I continued thinking I noticed Zoe's ears perk up at a sound. There's only one person who would come here looking for me.
"You can come out little wolf," I said smiling.
"How did you?" Arya asked me as she came out behind one of the trees.
"Blame Zoe," I said chuckling. I then picked her up and sat her down on my lap.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked the sad girl on my lap.
"Mother wants me to dress up for the feast," Arya said in annoyance "Wasn't it enough that I dressed up already." I looked at my younger sister in amazement. I then got an idea to cheer her up. I made water rise from the pond and made it change shape into a giant dire wolf and made it run around her. Her giggling made me smile. The spark of happiness in her eye made my day better. I then got another idea, one much better than my previous one. I made water shoot out of the pound and hit Arya.
"Arthur!" I heard my sister scream. I laughed at her. She then got her revenge by pushing me into the pound. To make it fair I let myself get wet.
"Why you little," I grabbed her and pulled her into the pound. We spent our time playing until it was time for the feast.
Feast hall
The feast hall was filled with laughter and joy, well except from the Queen who was watching her husband whore around in public. I really think if he was going to whore around he could at least do it in private. Right now I'm seated with Robb eating and laughing. Surveying the feast hall I could see the scare crow smirking at my sister and her blushing in response. I am not going to let my sister get engaged to that little piece of shit. Then a few tables ahead of me I could see Arya bored out of her mind. I decided to go and provide some entertainment for her.
"How's my little sister doing?" I asked Arya.
"I'm bored Arthur," she said in a whiny voice.
"How about," I looked around until Sansa and scare crow caught my eyes "We throw some food at those too." Arya followed my eyes and saw I was looking at Sansa and the Prince. I could feel Arya grinning. Arya and I both got spoons with food and aimed at them. I aimed at the Prince while Arya took Sansa.
"One, two, three now!" I said. I watched in amusement as the food flew through the air and hit the Prince right in the eye.
"Who... who threw this!" the Prince screamed. The entire feast hall kept quite. I could see Robb trying to hold his laughter and my mother glaring at me and Arya. The Prince desperately tried to find out who threw that but I guess me and Arya were looking too innocent. The silence was broken by King Robert.
"Let the feast continue!" the drunk King shouted. It was followed by the loud shouting of everyone. I and Arya then burst out laughing. Robb then came up to us and picked up Arya.
"Time for bed," Robb told Arya.
"Someone's in trouble!" I shouted at Arya. She just stuck out her tongue at me. I just shook my head at her antics. The music went on with King Robert drinking a lot of wine and whoring around. I then saw my father talking to a man who I noticed was Jamie Lannister. Their conversation then went on till my father looked to my direction nodding his head. Jamie Lannister then started heading to my direction.
"You must be Arthur Stark," Jamie said putting his hand out.
"Yes I am," I said as I stood up and shook his hand.
"Your father says that you're a master with the blade," Jamie said with a smile.
"I wouldn't call myself a master but yes I am good with a sword," I said smiling at the older man.
"How about a little sparing session in the morning?" Jamie asked "It's been a long time someone gave me a challenge." It's been a long time since I versed someone who could challenge me.
"Sure," I said "But you might come to regret asking to spar with me."
"Will see," Jamie said. Neither of us noticed the people around us listening to our conversation.
"I'll be going to bed now," I said. I was tired it's been a long day. Unlike the others leaving the feast I wasn't drunk because my powers as a son of Poseidon wouldn't allow me. My bodies always drawing on the moisture in the air constantly rehydrating me and reducing the toxins in my body. Once in my room, I took off my clothes and took a trousers from my closet. Sitting on my bed was Zoe sound asleep. I went under the covers and wished Zoe goodnight.
Here's Chapter two. I hope you enjoyed it. There more of Arthur Stark coming and I'm trying to make longer chapters
