Lincoln Universe

Loud Laser Light Cannon

Guess who's back, back again. So I've realized what the challenge of this story is gonna be. It's going to be trying to change every episode so that it has some character development between Lincoln and the Louds in some way. See, I really want to do every single episode of the series. I wanted to try and make some sort of Lynn Sr connection this chapter, so let's see if I did good. Also! Ronnie Anne! I wanna make it so that she isn't hated by you guys. That means, I don't want her bullying Lincoln, and just generally being more tolerable.

Just some reviews before we start:

Crawit: Honestly, screw him. I hate him so much I can't even be bothered to try and fit him into the story. Like, what does his character contribute? Being annoying? Making the viewer hate him? Please. Tell me.

...

...

I'M ASKING YOU A QUESTION!

Flameas: The problem with that is Lincoln has training. And even then, they would know that he is a gem and they would believe him due to the town's rumors that I mentioned in the first chapter. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, a gem monster destroyed the entire school. Why? Well, because it's easier to include them, and it will be used as plot for something that will come up later. There's no school since people have to rebuild it. Remember this information. It will come back in a future chapter. However, your idea would be nice to keep in mind for something else that I have planned WAY down the line so thanks for the idea.

Allanarcher777: And Lana. Also, When I originally made this story, I looked up "Orange flowers" and tried to find something space or gem related. I picked...Rose Quartz. Apparently, roses can be orange. I REALLY wanted her to be named something else to give this story a bit of difference tried to but the best I got was cosmos flowers and I didn't want to call her 'cosmo quartz' cause that sounds like a boy's name. And I don't wanna pick 'cosmic quarts' cause then it can't be traced back to the flower that well.

Teedybsg: I sent you a message in your private messaging regarding this topic.

As usual, please note that I do not own Steven Universe or The Loud house.

If you had asked Lynn Sr what he thinks of Lincoln, he would say that he doesn't know. After all, Lincoln just seemed like a kid that Lana randomly met. Lynn Sr knew nothing about him. He didn't know if he had good intentions or how trustworthy he was. Nothing. Sure he thought he made the right decision in letting his daughters hang out with Lincoln, but he didn't know if letting Lincoln hang out with his daughters was the same. They had all seemed to take some sort of liking to the gems based on Lana's extremely eager storytelling at their last family meeting. As Lincoln and Lana hung out a bit more, he told her all the things that gems were, which she then explained to everyone else. The gems, Lincoln being a half gem, the action packed adventures, the cool weapons, the great time she had. She told them all about it, and they all seemed pretty interested. But Lynn Sr was worried about this. What if Lincoln was a bad influence on the younger ones? So he made it his mission to find out more about Lincoln.

Which is why he asked to 'hang out' with him for a day. And why he was now in front of a 'Royal Beach fries' with Lincoln and Amethyst, about to order some food.

"Hey Fryman. Give me the bits!" Lincoln yelled dramatically, gaining a small chuckle from amethyst.

"Lincoln, 'the bits' isn't even on the menu" Fryman said deadpanned.

"You heard him, give him the bits!" Amethyst said as she and Lincoln started chanting for him to give the food. Lynn Sr quickly got worried and and rushed to them.

"On second though we'll just get 2 orders of fries" Lynn Sr said with a nervous chuckle. Fryman just shrugged and went to get their food.

"Aww, why'd did you do that?" Lincoln asked.

"Yeah, he was about to give up" Amethyst said. Lynn Sr turned around and pinched his nose before continuing.

"Because he probably would have got mad at us. And besides, you can't just order something that's not on the menu." Lynn Sr said.

"Yes we can. We do it all the time" Lincoln said with a raised eyebrow and a shrug.

"Society has rules that need to be followed!" Lynn Sr said sternly, only gaining a few laughs from Amethyst and Lincoln.

"Here you go" Fryman said as he gave them their pre-cooked fries. Amethyst and Lincoln took their fries and walked away to the beach.

"That kid is going to be the death of me" Lynn Sr said with a sigh.

"Yeah, Lincoln has that effect on people" Fryman said as Lynn Sr left to catch up with them.

"Man, that chant never gets old" Amethyst said as she walked with Lincoln.

"You got that right" Lincoln said with a smile.

"You know, that was very unnecessary right?" Lynn Sr asked as he caught up to them and started walking in between them.

"There's nothing wrong with having fun dude" Amethyst said.

"Well, as long as it's not when something important is going on" Lincoln added with a raised finger.

"Even then, he's just a man trying to make a living. You don't have to assault him like that." Lynn Sr said.

"Yeah, I know. There's a time and a place." Lincoln said dismissively before eating another fry whole.

"Well it doesn't seem like that" Lynn Sr said under his breath. He then looked to the beach, only to see a massive thing in the sky.

"Um, what is that?" Lynn Sr asked as he pointed to the beach.

"Oh no." Amethyst said blatantly before she dropped her fries and started to run towards the gems, who were at the beach in front of the gem temple. Lincoln and Lynn Sr followed her shortly after.

"This is bad." Garnet said as she stood next to Pearl, staring up at the thing in the sky.

"Look at the size of it" Pearl said in surprise as she looked through a telescope.

"Garnet! Pearl!" Amethyst said as she, Lincoln and Lynn Sr ran up to the group.

"You know, some of us are trying to protect humanity. Where were you?" Pearl asked, disappointed.

"Eating fries with Lincoln and old loud" Amethyst said.

"Old loud?" Lynn Sr asked as he looked to Amethyst.

"Yeah. It's my nickname for you." Amethyst said with a shrug.

"Why do I nee- You know what? It doesn't matter right now. What the heck is that thing?" Lynn Sr asked as he pointed to the thing in the sky.

"It looks like a second sun. Or a giant eyeball" Lincoln said with a slight chuckle.

"It is not a giant eyeball!" Pearl said.

"It kind of is" Garnet said. Pearl just sighed before continuing.

"It's a Red Eye. Also, it isn't an eyeball cause it's a piece of technology and not an actual organic eye."

"Oh no, Red Eye. It's going to infect us all" Lincoln said jokingly, shaking his hands slightly.

"Lincoln, take this seriously." Lynn Sr said disapprovingly.

"Besides. That's pink eye" Garnet said, not getting that it was a joke. Obviously Lincoln knew it was actually pink eye.

"What it's going to do is crash into Royal Beach and crush us, a long with a bunch of oblivious, innocent people! We have to stop it." Pearl said in distraught.

"Wait what?!" Lynn Sr yelled out of a mix of surprise and fear.

"Okay. This is serious. How do we stop it?" Lincoln said to himself before asking.

"The only thing powerful enough to destroy it is a light cannon that belonged to Rose Quarts." Garnet said, while adjusting her shades.

"Wait, you mean Lincoln's mother?" Lynn Sr asked with a raised eyebrow, recalling some of Lana's past excited rambling. Everyone just looked to him with a raised eyebrow, wondering how he got that information.

"Lana told me." Lynn Sr said blatantly as everyone except for Garnet 'oh'ed in response.

"Well yes. Rose Quarts was Lincoln's mother." Pearl confirmed.

"If she were here, this would be so easy." Amethyst said. Lincoln looked down slightly at the statement, which went unnoticed by everyone except for Lynn Sr. He made a mental note to remember this moment.

"I know, but she's not and the cannon is missing. We'll have to find another solution." Pearl said as she held her finger to her chin.

"Wait, if it belonged to my mom, shouldn't my dad have it?" Lincoln asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You have a dad?" Lynn Sr asked, surprise that he had a guardian who wasn't one of the gems.

"Of course I do" Lincoln said with a smile.

"Lincoln, Greg is...nice but I doubt Rose would trust someone like him with such a powerful weapon." Pearl said.

"Your dad is kind of a mess, Lincoln." Amethyst said blatantly as she put a hand on his shoulder.

"Wait really? Surely she would trust the man that she loved with one of her things" Lynn Sr said doubtingly.

"Even if she did leave it with him, he probably broke it or lost it or dropped it in the ocean by now." Amethyst while counting her fingers.

"True." Garnet said in response.

"Wow. He doesn't sound that responsible." Lynn Sr said.

"Well yeah, he can like that at times, but I'm sure he wouldn't lose something that belonged to mom. I'll go and check." Lincoln said as started to walk off before being cut off by Lynn Sr placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Wait. Exactly how much do we need that light cannon?" Lynn Sr asked has he turned his head toward Garnet

"We can handle this" Garnet said as Amethyst hoped into her arms. Garnet then jumped high into the air and threw Amethyst at the Red Eye. Despite her successfully hitting it, their attempt didn't even do the slightest scratch to the Red Eye.

"We need to find that cannon" Lynn Sr said deadpanned.

"Dad! It's me!" Lincoln yelled as he knocked on the back of a van. Lynn Sr found himself standing behind Lincoln at the local car wash. The van had a design with the name "Mr. Universe" on it. Lynn Sr wasn't liking Lincoln so far. He basically bullied Fryman and by the looks of it, his dad lived in a van. A VAN! No wonder Lincoln stays with the gems. Lincoln's dad probably couldn't even take care of himself. That's what Lynn Sr thought of Lincoln so far. A mean, joking bully with a dangerous family.

But he decided to give Lincoln the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he didn't know Lincoln that well. Lynn Sr said he would decide by the end of the day and it wasn't the end of the day yet. Lynn Sr brought his attention back to Lincoln to find that he was now on top of the van, jumping and stomping on it. That is until the alarm went off. After a few seconds, Lincolns dad came out with a waffle iron.

"AHHH!" Lincoln's dad yelled as he ran towards Lynn Sr while holding the iron like a bat, ready to knock Lynn Sr out.

"Wait dad! It's okay! He's with me!" Lincoln yelled. His dad instantly stopped and turned around to face Lincoln on top of the van. He blinked slowly before using his keys to turn off the alarm.

"Sorry 'bout that" he said to Lynn Sr.

"So this is that 'loud' guy you were telling me about?" Greg asked Lincoln.

"Yeah. He's is not a killer" Lincoln said while shaking his head.

"Name's Greg. Greg Universe." Greg said as he held out his hand for a handshake.

"Lynn. Lynn Loud Sr" Lynn Sr said while looking to the side. He nearly got beat up by Lincoln's dad. Lynn Sr picture of Lincoln only seemed to be getting worse.

"Wait, you mean his name is Loud? I just thought you meant he yells a lot" Greg said as Lincoln gave a small chuckle.

"Well I'm flattered, but no" Lynn Sr said, deadpanned.

"Lincoln's told me a lot about you and your family. How many did you say again?" Greg asked Lincoln.

"10 daughters." Lincoln answered.

"Yeesh. Anyway, what's up? Just needed to see your old man? Pal around? Learn some lessons about life?" Greg said as he turned to Lincoln

"No actually. I need the light cannon that belonged to mom so I can blow up that eyeball." Lincoln said as he pointed to the Red Eye that was still in the sky.

"Um, what is that?" Greg asked with a raised eyebrow.

"That's what I said." Lynn Sr said.

"Wait, is that a magical thing? The gems told me not to get involved with magic stuff. It could be dangerous or interfere with what's left with my hair" Greg said worryingly.

"Enjoy it while it lasts" Lynn Sr said as he looked to the ground sadly. He had lost some of his hair and it was not growing back.

"But they need mom's cannon. They need me. You gotta know where it is. Like a cave dungeon, or a cloud fortress, or in a clam at the bottom of the ocean." Lincoln suggested.

"Or none of those places." Lynn Sr added with a raised finger.

"Well I don't know about all that but I have an idea where it might be." Greg said.

Greg, Lincoln and Lynn Sr were now walking up to a storage shed.

"Oh cool. A magic storage unit." Lincoln said as he ran up to it.

"Not exactly, but some would say there's magic inside." Greg said with a wink to which Lynn Sr gave a small chuckle.

"Heh. Good one." Lynn Sr said.

"Thanks. But seriously though, it's just a shed I use to keep things that don't fit in the van." Greg said as he walked over to the shed and opened it.

"If it's anywhere, it'll be in here" Greg said. Lynn Sr walked next to them and looked inside, to which his eyes went wide at the amount of stuff inside.

"Are you serious? That could take forever!" Lynn Sr said.

"Exactly. So let's get started." Lincoln said as he crawled between a few boxes, going deeper into the shed. Now Greg had a moment to talk with Lynn Sr alone.

"So, what's up?" Greg asked seriously as he turned to Lynn Sr.

"What do you mean?" Lynn Sr asked.

"Why are you hanging out with Lincoln? I mean, it seems kinda' weird for an adult to hang out with Lincoln for the day." Greg asked as Lynn Sr sighed.

"I'm trying to make sure I can trust Lincoln. I mean, my daughter Lana meets this random kid with these gems. I need to know he can be trusted. That he has people's best interest at heart, you know?" Lynn Sr explained. Greg gave a small chuckle before replying.

"Worried about your kids huh? I can relate. When Lincoln started hanging out with the gems more and more, they started going on missions and getting involved with more magical gem stuff. I got worried that he was gonna come back with a broken arm or something. And even now I still worry." Greg said. He took a short pause before continuing.

"But I know Lincoln. I know he can be trusted. He may make jokes at the wrong times, but when he tells me about the gem stuff he tells me how much he wishes he could help them. He also tells me how much he wishes he could have a friend to hang out with since he doesn't really get to go on gem missions. So I can say with certainty that he has your daughter's best interests at heart." Greg finished with a confident smile. Lynn Sr was silent and didn't respond, but he his mind was racing to process the information he was just given.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was crawling through the shed, stopping occasionally to look at the stuff that was in here. It was like a Dad museum, and he wanted to admire it. He looked around and saw that there were golf clubs in front of him.

"Do you golf?" Lincoln asked his dad.

"Eh, I like to think of myself as someone who would golf...eventually." Greg said.

Lincoln kept looking around, finding everything from drums, to tennis balls and even a T-shirt cannon. But still not an actual cannon.

"Ugh, where is this thing?" Lincoln asked himself in frustration. He was about to continue before his leg hit a box. Lincoln looked down to see the box was full of old Cd's.

"Hey dad, there's a bunch of copies of your old Cd's in here." Lincoln told Greg.

"Yeah, I couldn't give those things away. You know before I ran the car wash, when I was a one-man band I traveled the whole country." Greg said.

"I know Dad. You always tell me this." Lincoln said as he ventured onward.

"When I came here to play a concert here in Royal Beach, only 2 people showed up. One of them was some guy who was probably a tourist and the other was your mom. And we were always together after that. Until she gave up her physical form to bring you into the world." Greg said.

"Do you still play?" Lynn Sr asked.

"Not as much as back then" Greg said with a shrug.

"Oh. Well still, you and my daughter Luna would probably get along." Lynn Sr said with a smirk.

"She's into rock?" Greg asked.

"Almost entirely. In fact, when she-" Lynn Sr started before being cut off by Lincoln. Apparently, while Lincoln was crawling, he crawled over a photo of Greg and Rose and ended up breaking it.

"Uh, dad? I broke a photo" Lincoln said slightly sad.

"Eh, it's okay buddy. If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs." Greg said.

"That is true." Lincoln said with a smile. Suddenly, a orange light hit his face and he looked forward to the source of it. Instantly his heart filled with joy, as he saw the laser light cannon he was looking for.

"The light cannon!" Lincoln yelled in success.

"That thing seems to be getting closer." Lynn Sr said. He and Greg were currently looking over their shoulders towards the Red Eye. It looked...ominous, to say the least.

"Yeah, that thing's giving me the willies." Greg said in agreement.

"Dad! I found it!" Lincoln yelled to them.

"Wait really?" Greg asked.

"Hold on, if it's a cannon, I don't think we're gonna be able to carry it to the beach, much less get it out of the shed." Lynn Sr commented.

So they cleared out the shed. It took a while, but it was worth it. They got the cannon out and it looked amazing to Lynn Sr. Like something you would see on a cartoon.

...

"Alright. We've got the cannon out. All we've gotta do now is get it to the beach." Lincoln said.

"How? It's too big for the van." Greg said. Coincidentally, a wagon rolled next to them after he said this. everyone stared at it for a second before Lynn Sr broke the silence.

"Get me some rope" Lynn Sr demanded.

What he ended up doing was putting the cannon inside of the wagon and tying the wagon to the back of the van. And now Lynn Sr found himself in the back of the van. Despite Lincoln being a kid and him being an adult, Lynn Sr was forced to stay in the back as Lincoln sat in the passenger seat.

"Are you sure that thing is gonna be okay?" Lincoln asked as he glanced over his shoulder to the light cannon. Greg looked at Lincoln and shrugged.

"If every pork cop were perfect" Greg started

"We wouldn't have hot dogs" Lincoln said, finishing the statement. Lynn Sr chuckled at that.

"Where did you get that from?" He asked.

"I got it from the guy who visited my concert when I met Rose. After seeing my show, I still doubted if I was good enough to make it into the big leagues. He walked up to me and encouraged me by saying 'If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs'" Greg answered.

"Hm. He must've been very wise." Lynn Sr said. Greg didn't respond though and instead was staring at the Red Eye.

"That thing's getting huge. It's freaking me out." Greg said. Lincoln's eyes drooped slightly at the

"Yeah. I can see why. I mean, if this light cannon doesn't work, it'll destroy the town and everyone in it." Lincoln said. Lynn Sr just stared at him with wide eyes.

"You...really care about this town, huh?" Lynn Sr asked.

"Of course I do. It's my home and it's important to me. And the gems are my family." Lincoln said. Lynn Sr just hummed and starred forward in response.

"I'm right here you know" Greg said with a smirk.

"Who are you again?" Lincoln asked, gaining a laugh from Greg and himself. Once the laughter died down, Lincoln got serious again.

"Can't the van go any faster?" Lincoln asked, slightly worried. Greg stepped on the gas, only for the van to go a few more miles per hour.

"This is faster" Greg said in response. Lincoln sighed sadly and slumped back into his chair.

Pearl and Garnet were looking at the Red Eye. By now, it's red glow had covered the whole town and they were getting worried. None of their attempts to stop it had worked. Provided, their attempts were just throwing Amethyst over and over again, but there wasn't much else they could do. Amethyst was carried to the shore by the waves. She got up and faced the 2 taller gems.

"Throw me again. I think I'm cracking it." Amethyst said encouragingly.

She wasn't.

The gems were about to try something else when they saw the van pull up to the beach. Lincoln, Lynn Sr, and Greg came out and went to bring untie the light cannon.

"Hey guys." Lincoln said as he waved to them. Pearl gasped happily.

"He really had it." Pearl said in astonishment.

"We're saved!" Amethyst said as the wind picked up and started blowing violently. Pieces of the house's roof were flying off signs from nearby shops were struggling to not do the same. The gems quickly saw that the Red Eye was now too close for comfort.

"We have to use it now!" Garnet said urgently as they ran over to the Light cannon. But there was still one problem.

"I don't know how it works! It's Rose's!" Pearl said worriedly as she inspected the light cannon, trying to find a way to use it.

"Dad! How do we use it?" Lincoln asked as he turned to Greg, hoping for an answer, but all he got was a sad shrug in response.

"Wait, you mean to tell me we did all of this and we're still gonna die?!" Lynn Sr yelled while putting his hands to his head.

"No! We can't fail! We can't!" Lincoln yelled in distress. Pearl quickly grabbed him and spun him around.

"You have Rose's gem! Maybe your gem will get it to work!" Pearl said urgently.

"Yeah! We gotta use your gem!" Amethyst said as she crabbed Lincoln pushed him against the light cannon.

"It's no use!" Pearl said as they began arguing about what to do. Lynn Sr looked over his shoulder to the Red Eye before pinching his nose in anger.

"I can't believe this. How could you or your family ever let this happen?! You guys are so irresponsib-" Lynn Sr started before he looked to Lincoln. He saw that Lincoln had tears streaming down his face, and it stopped him dead in his tracks.

"I can't fail! This means too much to me! How am I supposed to be a crystal gem if I can't even activate my gem! And now the town is going to be destroyed!" Lincoln said while holding his eyes shut tightly in sadness. Lynn Sr rethought what he was gonna say. This clearly meant a lot to Lincoln, and Lincoln had shown how much he this mattered to him. Lynn Sr quickly realized something. Lincoln was responsible. He just didn't know what to do with that responsibility. And right now he was crying, because he felt like he had failed. What he needed was someone to encourage him and snap him out of it, but the gems were arguing and Greg was trying to keep his van out of the ocean. Lynn Sr sighed before he talked to him.

"Lincoln, listen." Lynn Sr said as he put his hands on Lincoln's shoulders. Lincoln opened his eyes to look at Lynn Sr. They stared at each other dead in the eyes before he continued.

"We might not be able to activate this cannon, but you care about this town. A lot. I can see that you take your gem business very seriously. And even if we don't activate this cannon, it's not too late to give up. We can find another way. But crying about it isn't gonna help." Lynn Sr told him. Lincoln sniffled and wiped away some of his tears before smiling at him.

"Y-Yeah, you're right. I can't give up just yet. You guys are my family and..."

"I wouldn't trade it for the world."

And just like that, the cannon aimed itself at the Red Eye and shot an orange beam of light at watched in awe as the light transformed. It started out as a normal blast, but quickly transformed to resemble a rose, and then transformed into a form of Lincoln's mother, aiming her hand at the Red Eye, about to strike it down. The Beam of Light made contact and instantly the Red Eye started cracking. It kept cracking until it couldn't anymore, and it exploded into multiple giant pieces. The red glow of the Red Eye was gone, and the pieces of it started falling on to Royal Beach. Every stared at the sky for a few moments before Lynn Sr broke the silence.

"Lincoln. You saved the town." He said in amazment.

"Yeah! You did it!" Amethyst said as she threw her arms into the air.

"Great job Lincoln!" Pearl said as she clapped quietly.

"How did you get it to work" Greg asked as looked to them from his van, which was still in the water. The light beam was so amazing it distracted him from his van. Greg also had tears in his eyes which Lynn Sr noted.

"I just said that you guys were my family, and that I wouldn't trade you guys for anything. Not even the world." Lincoln said with a smile. Everyone except for Lynn Sr started chatting among themselves. Lynn Sr just held his hand to his head in shock, still trying to take in what just happened. Lincoln...saved...the town. He saved everyone.

He saved his daughters...

Lynn Sr closed his eyes, looked to the ground and shook his head with a smirk on his face. That kid really was something. Lynn Sr looked at Lincoln again and he saw a different person then what he saw earlier. He saw a hero. A kid that wanted to do the right thing. A kid that had people's best interests at heart. Lynn Sr turned around and started walking off.

So in conclusion, if you had asked Lynn Sr what he thought of Lincoln, he would say he was a kid who Lana was lucky to meet. A kid who had good intentions and was trustworthy. He made the right choice letting his daughters hang out with Lincoln, and he made the right choice letting Lincoln hang out with his daughters.

(The star would probably close at Lynn Sr's face as he walks away.")

WOO! THAT FELT GOOD! I pulled a twist on you guys! You thought the line that activates the cannon was gonna be the same, didn't ya? Don't lie! Admit it! You did! Man. That felt really good to write. There's probably gonna be a few spelling errors but I'll fix those afterwards. So what did ya think? Maybe leave a review? Even if you don't. Until next time, take care.

I wonder who that man at Greg's concert was...
