Meredith and her friends sat on the bench in the locker room when Dr. Bailey told them to get cleaned up for their next shift in 5 minutes. Meredith could already feel the hangover starting. Derek told her to take some aspirin because it would help. But she didn't, how could she ever trust anything he said?
She had never said the three words before, Noone had ever said them to her. And she remembered once again why she never used them before. Because she couldn't trust anyone. Actually she had trusted Derek. She told him about her Mother. She only told Derek. And the same day she met Derek's wife. "she's my wife"
How could he do this to her? How could he keep something like that from her for 2 full months only for his wife to show up and tell her? He could have told her for more than 60 days but he didn't. And then she was ready to stay with him eventhough he didn't tell her but he abandoned her like everyone else in her life who meant something to her did.
And it won't be long until the rumor mill hears what happened. It was going to be horrible for her. She already knew it and wanted to leave. She couldn't stand the thought of everyone looking at her. Laughing about her because she is just the little pathetic intern who begged a man. How could she beg a man?
She knew that they were going to stare at her just like the students from Boston Westside High looked at her when they met her in the city after "The Incident" that made her change to Boston East High. her mother used to call it "the incident" and nothing more. Meredith wasn't allowed to call it anything different than "the incident".
What was Meredith supposed to do now? She loved and now she lost... She loves... How could she not love him... But he didn't love her. He never did... How can you love someone and not tell them something like that? How is that even possible... He made her think that he wanted her but he didn't, he never did. And she begged him... She begged him to be with her but he didn't choose her... Noone ever chose her. Her Mother didn't choose her, her father didn't choose her, Richard didn't choose her...
Why did Derek chase her and make her go out with him when he was married? Why did he make her feel like this just to pick someone else over her... Why did he lie to her? How could she actually tell him that she loved him?
Why was she such a disappointment to everyone. Noone ever wants Meredith Grey...
Meredith quickly wiped away the tears from her eyes when she and her fellow interns got up in the locker room and went looking for Dr. Bailey to go on rounds. Cristina put a hand on Meredith's shoulder and caressed it gently before pressing a bit so meredith starts walking toward the door.
As they find Dr. Bailey she makes them rush into the first patients room.
As they enter Addison Montgomery is already there with the patient. "This is Dr. Bailey and those are her Interns. Grey, present." Addison says while looking at Meredith with a look that screamed "Derek picked me".
"Molly Thompson, 30 weeks pregnant. Her Baby presents with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. She is scheduled for fetal surgery today at 10 AM."
"What could happen if she doesn't have the surgery, Grey?" Meredith asked. "The baby could die." she answered. Right then the patients family entered the room and Meredith just stared at the door in shock...
