Chapter 2: A Hero's Debut, and The Fame that came with it.

Izuku was walking around the streets of New Meridian, today was his weekly day off, as was every Saturday. It is when Yu-Wan's is less busy anyways, not that he knew why. All he knows is that it used to be busier on Saturdays but as soon as he started taking the day off business slowed on the days.

He was making decent money working at Yu-Wan's he had roughly three thousand dollars saved up from working there minus the money he had to spend on clothes, and including the small rent fee he paid for each meal he ate there. Even if Yu-Wan said it alright and that he didn't have to.

But that was besides the point, today he was just walking around enjoying the sun after a brief jog. Well as brief as a ten kilometer jog was for him, he really needed to stop reading one punch man. He did spot a gym he was interested in joining however, it had a good membership price and he might be able to get a side job as a trainer as he was told he looked like one.

It was a warm midsummer's day and there was a light breeze, it was a perfect day, or at least it would be a perfect day if there wasn't a gigan in the middle of the street, having pushed his way out of the bank. Izuku, without thinking he rushed into an alleyway which was empty and changed into his "fixed" hero costume.

The sleeves were too torn to fix but he managed to save the hood, and the main body. He got new knee pads for it, and his armor for his shoes fit his new ones. The only problem was that he had to use his long gloves, his shoulders being the only skin visible. He did fix Gran Torino's scarf cape however.

After changing as quickly as possible and hiding his bag he rushed to a roof top and stared down into the street. Now in the street was a woman with crimson hair, wielding a parasol as a weapon. Funny enough the woman was Princess Parasoul of the Renoire family who lived in the glass canopy.

The Princess was fighting the gigan, only doing so much as her heavy hitting Egrets weren't with her yet. What shocked Izuku most was that a pink haired girl, Parasoul's sister, Umbrella, had snuck her way into the fray. She was about to be stomped on, something Izuku couldn't help but react.

Parasoul watched in fear as the gigan was about to step on her sister, her sister looking terrified herself. But, the foot never came down fully, underneath the gigan's foot stood a man in a strange costume. A dark green hood that had bunny ears, a matching green outfit with white and blue gloves that went up to his shoulders.

Black leg brace-like coverings, a red belt, and a yellow scarf-like cape. He even had a metal mouth covering which hid his mouth.

"Have no fear! Why? Because I am here!" Yelled the man, his voice filled with determination and a fearless aura. Umbrella, the second Princess of the Royal Renoire family, looked up at the man who looked down at her, moved his mask with one hand and gave her a smile, a symbol of Hope. A symbol.. of peace.

She smiled and rushed back to her older sister, watching the hero as a sudden burst of smoke filled the area, flashes of green filling the smoke filled area, and as the smoke cleared there stood the man, standing on top of the knocked out Gigan, who was bruised all over, and restrained by black whisps which came out of the Hero's hands.

Surrounding the young man was an aura of green lightning, dancing around him in chaotic yet beautiful arcs. The scene was like it was straight out of a comic book, with a powerful hero winning the battle with ease. There was a camera crew on the scene at this point, the camera fixated on the man.

"This criminal, is the first of many. The first of many that I will capture! Consider this, my debut! I will say this again, Have no fear! Why!? BECAUSE I AM HERE!" The mysterious masked man said, smiling under his mask, which seemed to beam through. The mask he wore, showing his smile, proud, and determined.

As soon as the heavy hitting Egrets arrived, they put large handcuffs, made for gigans, onto the criminal's wrists before Princess Parasoul approached the man, who now stood on the ground, smiling that he didn't wreck the street. The camera crew approaching him quickly.

"Sir! Sir! What is your name?" Asked the reporter, before Parasoul could even ask.

"You can call me whatever you like. I am just a man who had the power to do good, and couldn't just stand by. Farewell!" He said, his voice lowered, imitating his mentor's voice before he jumped back and pushed himself off of the ground, using some other ability to fly away, stopping by the roof where he hid his items and using super speed to gather them so he could go hide and get changed.

This was not the first crime he would stop, not by a long shot. For the next few weeks he had stopped several crimes, and with this came fame. He wasn't doing hero work for fame, but it was an inevitable part of the work. Within the few weeks there were posters, comics, even fan clubs.

Hell, the producer of the show "Annie, the girl of the stars" even approached him on one of his patrols, asking if he could make a guest appearance on a couple of episodes as there was no one else better to ask. He took the job, as one, it would help the popularity of the show, and he didn't want to just flat out refuse.

The first day on the set was strange to say the least, Annie herself approached him out of nowhere and dragged him to her trailer to talk. Izuku, in his hero outfit was just sitting around, waiting to be briefed on the entire script or handed one. That was when Annie approached him and dragged him away.

Inside her trailer she sighed and closed the blinds and locked the door before looking at the man.

"Listen, I am going to keep this brief. You're not from this world, are you?" She asked surprisingly. But Izuku nodded, not going to deny that to a girl who clearly knows more than she lets on.

"Yeah, I was born in an alternate version of earth. Raised in Japan. In my world 80% of the population have super powers, being a hero is an occupation there. I of course was training to be one before the hero vs. villain war broke out. I managed to end the war but afterwards found myself in Little Innsmouth, bed ridden for a month or two." Izuku admitted.

"Seems like you've earned the title of hero then. But I can't help but ask, why continue being a hero in this world?" Annie asked curiously.

"Because being a hero is all I've dreamed about. I want to be a symbol of peace, just like my mentor. I'm technically a vigilante here, but there are no hero agencies so obviously I won't get paid for my hero work. Which is why I have a job in Little Innsmouth." The green haired hero answered.

Annie nodded at this with complete understanding, being a hero without being paid is honorable but everyone still needs money. She could see why he agreed to this at least, he'd get a little extra money from this to help boost along his savings while he worked at the restaurant.

"Well, we'll be called back to set soon. Make sure to stop by sometime though. We can talk a little more and hopefully we can officially become partners at least on set. You are good guy, Deku." The girl of the stars said with a smile before Izuku put his mask back on and they went back to the set.

For three days he had filmed all of his scenes for the first episode he'd make an appearance in. Afterwards he continued his patrols and went back to work at Yu-Wan's. Soon the day came for the episode to be released and on this day a certain princess was sitting in her room.

She watched as the theme song ended and the episode began with a battle between Annie and her "nemesis" she was about to be "defeated" when Deku came to help her. This time his suit was more brightly colored and more cartoonish looking as this show was still a kid's show.

The whole episode went through an entire arc of Annie actually not fully trusting Deku before she eventually accepted him as an ally. They even had a scene where Deku's stunt double unmasked himself and introduced himself as "Yamikumo" which was actually Izuku's Idea as his real secret identity would be hidden.

The whole episode was at it's core, childish, yet well scripted, and Parasoul herself, while she didn't believe Yamikumo to be Deku's real secret identity, it was funny to her that his name might be as strange. But this was only the beginning of his fame, soon there were action figures and jackets, as well as T-shirts and pajamas.

Hell, Minette bought a body pillow in secrecy with some rather "interesting" fan art of him on it. Needless to say the hero was well loved by many. But his presence angered the medici mafia, who's men were sent to prison because of him. Lorenzo Medici, who was dying, put Vitale to make a plan to stop Deku's treatment of their men, even if it meant using a certain unknowing pawn.
