The Night Fury widened his eyes and and one of his paws and put by his nose.
Hiccup gape "that Gronckle was smelling your scent off me."
The Night Fury nod his head.
Hiccup walks over to the lake and says "blast the lake with a spit ball of fire when the fish come" and wriggles his finger around like a worm.
A fish comes up to bite the worm to get shot with a spit ball of fire.
Hiccup grabs the fish and offers it to the Night Fury "I know your hungry."
The Night Fury growls at him.
Hiccup relaxes "it's okay" and throws his dagger at the entrance to the Cove and ask "is that better for you?"
The Night Fury nods his head in approval.
Hiccup offers the fish again.
The Night Fury opens his mouth to show gums.
Hiccup ask "toothless? I could have sworn you had-"
The Night Fury grabs the fish out of his hand with his teeth.
Hiccup comments "-teeth. That's what I'll name you, Toothless."
Toothless coughs up half the fish and has Hiccup take a bite of the fish.
Hiccup takes a bite to please Toothless.
Hiccup looks to the setting sun and says "I have to go, but I'll be back tomorrow in the afternoon."
Toothless nod his head in understanding.
Hiccup walks through the forest and up to the great Hall to see the students and a few men eating dinner and hearing Gobber talk about their mistakes in the ring today and decides to go to the forge to be alone since everyone hates him because he's a joke to them.
In the great Hall, Gobber ask "where did Ruffnut and Tuffnut go wrong?"
Fishlegs replies "they argued over a shield."
Gobber ask "where did Astrid go wrong?"
Astrid sighs "I mistimed my somersault dive, it was sloppy."
Snotlout flirts "no, you was fine, you were so Astrid."
Gobber notice Hiccup didn't show up and wonders where he is "does anyone know where Hiccup is?"
Snotlout smirks "probably hiding like a baby."
Ruffnut smirks "he didn't get eaten."
Astrid scowls "Ruffnut! He is my fiance even though I don't like it, I have to show that I care about him."
Snotlout gaped "what do you mean, your engaged to Hiccup the useless?!"
Astrid sighs "his father offer my father a marriage contract for me to marry him even though I can't stand him, I'm going through with it."
Tuffnut curious ask "why did the Chief even put Hiccup the useless in dragon training anyways?"
Gobber sighs "I convince Stoick to let him in dragon training to help him fight dragons."
Stoick was at the Hoffersons going over the marriage contract.
Hiccup check the forge for things that needed to be done and leaves heading to his house to eat dinner and be alone which he perfers now.
He makes himself a fish to eat for dinner.
After having dinner, he walks upstairs to his room to see a queen size bed and says "oh I'm definitely going to call off the wedding because I'm not going to marry a girl who only doing it for her family's financial benefits."
He writes down everything that Astrid and Ruffnut said in the forest and forming a friendship with a real caring friend."
After that he goes to sleep.
Next morning, Hiccup gets up and walks downstairs to the kitchen to eat breakfast alone.
After that he walks out to the arena and notice the gate is closed and says they must be doing the wedding preparations and runs in the forest to hide than be dealing with wedding preparations.
He walks down to the Cove and fish a fish to feed Toothless.
(In the village)
Stoick walked upstairs to see Hiccup gone and heads down to the Forge to see Gobber.
Gobber was hammering a dented sword out.
Stoick ask "have you seen Hiccup anywhere?"
Gobber rubs his chin "he didn't show up in the great Hall for dragon training review last night, then again he said that he was debating on changing his loyalties against the tribe. Whatever that means."
Stoick sighs "I need him to work on the bride price for his marriage to Astrid."
Gobber nervous says "I don't think it was a good idea to have Hiccup marry Astrid then again he had a crush on her before he turned ten years old."
Astrid was getting fitted for a wedding dress.
Snotlout, Tuffnut and Ruffnut were looking for Hiccup around the village for a beating.
(In the Cove)
Hiccup was drawing Toothless's head in dirt and comments "the longer I'm in the forest and away from the villagers, the happier I feel. Toothless, I'm going to get you back into the sky again."
Toothless grins at him and follows his movements with a stick and breaks a small tree off the ground and draws a giant smiley face in the dirt.
Hiccup step on a line causing Toothless to growl at him.
He removes the foot and steps on spaces until he's next to Toothless to see a smiley face and reaches out to touch him.
Toothless growls at him.
Hiccup sighs and turns his head, closing his eyes, with his palm up.
Toothless closes his eyes and touch his snout to Hiccup's palm purring.
Hiccup smiles "I feel loyal to dragons only."
He begins writing a book on training a dragon.
Chapter one: to get your dragon to trust you, you have to throw your weapon away from you.
Chapter two: "once your dragon sees that you don't have any weapons to hurt them, you can feed them a fish to build trust.
Chapter three "the best way to prove trust is to close your eyes with your palm up to signal that your trusting the dragon to not bite your hand off.
He closes the dragon training book and writes down in his journal about building trust with his caring friend.
He leaves the cove and heads through the forest and over to the forge to work on building a tail fin for Toothless.
Gobber returns to see Hiccup working on something and says "your father was looking for you."
Hiccup sighs "not interested in marrying Astrid Hofferson anymore besides I'm over her already."
Gobber curious ask "did you find a new girl to crush on?"
Hiccup shakes his head and says "no girl wants to be hitch to me willingly, so I'm not going to force a girl through marriage contract."
Gobber gaped "Hiccup, what are you talking about?"
Hiccup smiles "I found a friend in the forest that is better and makes me happy and I feel loyal to him than to this village of hatters."
Gobber sighs "Hiccup, it will get better with Astrid as your wife."
Hiccup ignores him and continues working on the fin until he finished putting it together using rods fabric and sewing it together.
Gobber left to go check with Stoick nervous about Hiccup.
While he was gone, Hiccup shut down the forge putting out the burner and leaves the forge and heads back into the forest after buying a basket of fish from the fishermen.
As he begins to enter the forest, his father calls his name.
Hiccup turns to see his father and runs into the forest not wanting to deal with wedding preparations and traditions.
Stoick yells "HICCUP!"
He sighs and turns around to go ask Gobber for help with Hiccup.
Hiccup scowls "I'm not going to marry that horrible girl and suffer more pain because of her!"
He walks back to the Cove and feeds Toothless fish.
He tells Toothless I got you all sorts of fish and a smoked eel."
Toothless backs away hissing at the eel.
Hiccup takes the eel away and says "sorry about that. I'm not a fan of eels either."
Toothless begins eating the fish while Hiccup straps the prosthetic fin on Toothless's tail.
Toothless wiggles the tail fin and spread his wings.
Hiccup checks the fin over "it looks like it will work-"
Toothless takes off in the air.
The fin closes up causing them to fall.
Hiccup opens the fin back up catching air and yells "YES! It works!"
Toothless looks at his tail to see Hiccup riding on his tail and flung him off into the lake.
The tail collapses and Toothless falls in the lake as well.
Hiccup burst through the water saying "WOOHOO."
Toothless snorts at his antics.
Hiccup smiles "well I got you in the air before the fin closed up. So I have to ride on top of you and somehow figure out a way to control the tail fin."
Toothless huffs at being rode on.
Hiccup decides to leave the cove and head back to the village to deal with the villagers crap and huffs "I'm over them and their treatment towards me."
He arrives at the forge to see a paper on his work desk in his private room to see it's a list of weapons to make for bride price.
Stoick walks over to the forge to see Hiccup's back and says "good, your back. Now that list of weapons is for Alistair Hofferson to marry his daughter and you are to have it done by the night before the wedding."
Hiccup sighs looking the list over and reads "three double bladed axes, seven long swords, four short swords, four daggers."
He turns to his father to see him gone and sighs putting the list to the side of his work table and begins building a saddle after writing chapter four: don't feed a your dragon eels because they don't like them.
Astrid stop by the forge to have her axe sharpened and says "my mom wanted me to come by and talk to you before our wedding ceremony."
Hiccup takes the axe from her and sharpens it on the grinding wheel.
Astrid sternly says "becareful with that, Gobber made that for me last year for my birthday."
Hiccup nods his head "yes I'll be careful with it."
Astrid ignores the response, not noticing the sadness in his response.
After sharpening her axe, he hands it to her says "here you go" and goes back to his private room to finish making the saddle for Toothless.
Astrid curious wonders why he doesn't try to talk to her now. He always tried to talk to her before their engagement and would stutter.
She notice some leather thing that he was building and ask "what is he working on now?"
She leaves the forge and walks home to see her mother folding clothes and says "Hiccup didn't even want to talk to me which is odd because he always tried to talk to me before our engagement and I would ignore him and leave."
Ingrid curious ask "maybe he's busy with your bride price list that your father wrote down on paper for him to make?"
Astrid shakes her head "no, he was building something with leather and wasn't working on my bride price."
Ingrid comments "he would have to build the weapons before your father will let you marry him by the night before your wedding ceremony the next morning."
Astrid curious ask "what if he doesn't pay the bride price by making the weapons?"
Ingrid sighs "we would have to give Stoick back the money that would have been your dowry."
Astrid curious ask "what happens if the wedding is called off?"
Alistair sighs "then you would be on the market for marriage to any boy who wants to marry you."
Astrid nervous ask "if he refuses to marry me, is there any way I could stay engaged to Hiccup until he agrees to marry me?"
Ingrid replies "you hand your shield to the chief himself which then he would be engaged to you until he agrees to marry you which could last for years unless someone else ask the chief for your hand in marriage."
Astrid leaves her house and walks down to the forge to visit Hiccup to see him gone along with the leather thing he was working on.
She notice a book and reads "how to train your dragon."
She opens it and flip the pages to see it's an instruction book on how to train a dragon as a pet.
She leaves the forge wondering what dragon could Hiccup possibly be training? And stops thinking about the Night Fury that Hiccup claimed of shooting out of the sky and whispers to herself "if he is training a Night Fury as a pet it would make him worth dating."
When she arrives back at home, she says "mom, dad, I think I know what Hiccup is doing behind our backs and could make him a traitor to Berk."
Ingrid curious ask "what do you mean by traitor?"
Astrid nervous answers "I think Hiccup is training a dragon, but not just any dragon, a Night Fury."
Alistair curious ask "where did you come up with that idea?"
Astrid sighs "I found a book that he was writing about how to train a dragon and then I realized that he claimed to shoot down a Night Fury and we all laughed at him."
Ingrid sighs "if he does train the Night Fury, it would be a great asset to defend Berk from invaders and dragon raids."
Alistair rubs his forehead "we can't let the villagers know about Hiccup training a Night Fury or Stoick will have reason to disown him and then the engagement would be called off."
Astrid nervous thinks about the problem and asks "if Stoick decides to disown Hiccup for training a dragon could you offer him a home, father and widened her eyes "oh my- Hiccup hates his father!"
Ingrid gaped "what?"
Astrid sighs "in dragon training yesterday morning, when Snotlout and the twins were giving him crap he told us that Stoick stuck him in training, but he said dad like he hated his father for some reason."
