Dylan was out on his Pokemon journey. He had his Pokedex out, which buzzed into life. As he and his Spirow went out onto Route 1, they saw a black-haired girl, about his age, getting chased by a dragonfly-like Pokemon. Dylan got out his Pokedex to find out what Pokemon it was.
Dex Data: Yanma, the Clear Wing Pokemon. A Bug and Flying type. Its eyes can see 360 degrees without moving its head. It won't miss prey, even those behind it.
The Yanma looked unharmed, and it wasn't provoked. Spirow flapped its wings, indicating that it wanted to battle. "Alright, Spirow, our first wild Pokemon encounter! Now use Tackle!" Spirow hopped up, and dove down at the Clear Wing Pokemon, surprisingly almost knocking it out.
Now was Dylan's chance! He threw out a PokeBall at the Yanma. After a few shakes, the Poke Ball clicked. "I did it! I caught my first Pokemon!"
The girl that the Yanma chased came back. She was wearing a yellow-green shirt, a red headband, flip flops, and a grass hula skirt. "Wait, you caught that Yanma?" she asked.
"Yup! Wait...you seem familiar...Wait a minute, you're Erika! From the Kanto Region! I read about you all the time in the magazines."
Erika smiled. "Well, I'm glad you do." She giggled, and Dylan questioned Erika. "So...what are you doing in the Unumi Region anyways?" Erika sighed.
"Well, Celadon City's been getting rather...toxic since the major influx of social media. Heck, even the Gym Trainers were rude to me. Luckily my mother understood, and she's taking care of the Gym now." Dylan smiled, and hugged Erika. "Don't worry, Erika," Dylan said in a soothing voice, consoling her. "You're safe here."
Erika smiled, "Thanks..."
"Dylan."
"Oh. Okay, got it," Erika responded, taking note of this new information
"But...what's with the getup?" he asked. "Well, I originally wanted to go to Hilo Island...but...I wanted to explore this region." Erika sighed. "Well, there's no shame in that!" Dylan smiled. "Besides, I do get lonely," he admitted.
Erika giggled. "Don't worry. I'll make sure you feel welcome and comfortable." Erika tossed two PokeBalls into the air and out came a Bellossom and a Tsareena. "Cool! I thought you traveled with a Gloom," Dylan thought. "Oh, I did, but, I left it with my mother."
Dylan didn't care regardless. He now had a friend to travel with. Soon the sun was setting and the two were almost at the end of the Route. "We should set up a camp," Dylan sighed, knowing how bad he was at setting up tents.
"Not to worry," Erika smiled.
She got out two blankets. Dylan yawned and accepted a blanket, lying by a tree. "Sleep well, Erika." He muttered, as Erika got up to him, and cuddled for warmth.
