Prologue

It has been 19 years and 363 days since Fang left me. That bastard. That coward. I always thought that was Fang and Max. Max and Fang. Fax. But he left me. I tried to find him.
Flashback
"Nudge, can you hack into his blog posts, see where they're coming from?"
"I can't."
"GODDAMMIT NUDGE. YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE OUR HACKER"

"Oh god nudge i'm sorry. I just snapped"

I tried for so long to find him but to no avail. The flock soon were able to finish up all traces of the white coats. We split up after that. Without Fang, without my right-wing man, my soulmate, we soon fell apart. I still keep in touch with all of them, and we come together on holidays.
Dylan still tried to get me to date him. I never did, because when he left, I swore I would never date again. Too much heartbreak. After 5 years, Dyalan gave up. Ended up dating Max II of all people. Guess she was enough like me.
After about 10 years or so, I got over it. I threw out all of his stuff, all my mementos. Since I don't matter to him, I guess he shouldn't matter to me.
And the flock? Well Iggy went off to college, where he was joined by Ella, they then soon started dating and then got married. They have 2 beautiful boys, and one of them has wings.
Gazzy went one to join the army, and quickly climbed the ranks to become chief demolitions officer. He thanks Iggy every day for helping him get there.
Nudge went on to become a fashion model.
Angel went on to join CSM and become a field operative that communicated with the wild life they tried to save.
And me? I wrote a bestselling book on the school, and human-avian people. I was on time magazine, their first "woman of the year." I now work with the F.B.I to take out the reminders of ITEX, the school and whitecoats.
I also help them on other missions too, mainly as air support but also a kick ass fighter. I am even the leader of my own division.
Flashback
"Ok Max we need you to bust in to the roof, and open the doors."
"So this is it huh, the last whitecoat building"
"Yea we are going to go in with excessive force. We have permission to shoot to kill"
"Good ill rest easy knowing these bastards are dead"
Window crashes

I still remember Jebs face when I killed him. It at least brought me some joy in this dark dark world.
I sit in my kitchen pondering. Do I go to greet Fang? After he left me like a coward? I pick up my phone, and go into the flocks group chat. I send a text

I close my phone, unfurl my wings and go, the conversation still swirling in my head. Does Fang love me?
