Okay, so this is gonna be an interesting little piece. As you may or may not know I tend to lean towards female protagonists. I have a lot more flexibility with them, but I still was leaning 50/50 on female/male protagonist. I decided female. Lols female oc! Oh! Just quick reminder, main stories comin' out soon, yay. Oh gosh that's gonna be a lot of work. Ahem.

Disclaimer: I don't own Titanfall or Mass Effect.

Let's do this.

Chapter 1: Into The Fire

The last thing I remember was securing the Arc.

"BT?"

Viper was a snake, striking when we least expected it. Just another number added to the times I've almost died since becoming a pilot. Before that, even.

"BT."

"Pilot."

I decided that I wouldn't wait to die and manually activated phase shift as we came crashing down in enemy lines. It apparently had affected the Arc, and now…

"I… your arm."

I winced, running my hand down the twisted metal, hissing as my own suddenly became transparent green glowing.

"Your arm." He noted.

It stopped, and my back slid down his metal leg. "I… your phase shifter isn't online. Busted from… whatever it was that happened. Dammit I-rgh!"

Pain. My body flickered. I-I couldn't control it. The pain-

"Focus pilot!"

I breathed, gritting my teeth as my body settled. "That's… that's gonna take some getting used to."

"Agreed. Scans show a 95% chance of death otherwise."

"Gee. Thanks BT."

"You're welcome."

I just sighed, hitting my head against his metal. "The Arc?"

"Undamaged."

I nodded. "Where are we?"

"Unknown. Unfamiliar terrain. Phase activated an overcharge, detrimental to organic matter. Current location not charted."

My brows furrowed. "What are you saying? Is that why I'm like-this?" My hand flickered transparent green. "I… this is why we don't go messing around with technology." I hissed. "Time travel, things like the Arc… it's too much power in the hands of humans. To be used so casually by pilots I-"

My head snapped up, hand suddenly gripping my Volt.

As a person came upon us I leveled my barrel right between his eyes.

"W-wait!"

My eyes quickly scanned his body. No weapons. No signs of military training.

"Sorry." I apologized. Voice coming out deeper through my helmet. "I haven't encountered many friendly faces."

"N-no I get it!" He laughed nervously. "I, um. The bugs here are vicious!"

I tilted my head, before lowering my gun. "Settlement?"

"Oh, you mean-yeah. Your mech looks… pretty bad." He relaxed.

"He is." I agreed. "Do you have a place that could offer repairs, or?"

"Yeah. I was just curious about the big flash of light and stuff."

"Manual repairs." I signaled BT to follow us. He slowly got up, limping behind as we walked. The plant life was everywhere.

"Did you make him yourself?"

I hummed, thinking to myself. "You've never seen a Titan before have you?"

He shook his head.

"What is this place?" I ask, frowning. I feel like I'm missing something important.

"Eden Prime!" He laughed, running a hand through his red hair. "Our new frontier."

Eden Prime…

That feeling. It was growing.

"How come you don't know the name of the planet you're on?" He questioned.

"It's a long story." I murmured. "BT and I are a little lost at the moment, and-"

My leg flickered and I trip, hissing.

"Woah there!"

We did eventually make it to the main populous.

Everything was kind of low grade, but also high grade. Building setups were so outdated that the oldest model of manufacturing I knew could easily outstrip design.

As we walked the street kids came out to gawk at the three of us. Many eyes lingered at BT, but more than a few lingered on me. The awe and wonder had me remember why I wanted to be a pilot. It made the situation better. Everything up till now…

...

"Is this okay?"

I huffed, rolling up my sleeves. They put us in a garage. A few unfamiliar looking ships were also being worked on. "It's fine. Thanks."

I was an engineer before becoming a gunman. Before becoming a pilot. I lived to work on repairing things much more advanced than a Titan body.

"I'm unfamiliar with some of this alloy, but it should be enough to make you a new arm buddy. As well as repair any damages from our tussle with Viper."

"Good." His voice spoke through my helmet. "While you work, I'll fill you in on our situation pilot."

And fill me in he did.

Another universe. I mused. Another dimension? An entirely different reality?

"This is giving me a headache." I mutter to myself, taking off my helmet.

I grimaced as the air hit my pale skin. The suit, any IMC gear, had one get accustomed to the environment of planets slowly. The past few months of just being in it, or being in BT who had the same adaptable features, then being exposed to something entirely different left my skin a bit vulnerable.

"Is the air toxic for us BT?" I sighed, running a hand through my short spiked black hair.

"Negative. Scans show no toxicities to my definition of organic material."

"Good. Let's get you patched up BT. Then let's get the hell out of here." Having something like the Arc in a new and possibly hostile system… it wasn't something I wanted, or really needed. Best to hunker down somewhere safe, where we could gather our thoughts and come up with something to do.

"Understood. Uphold the mission, find a safe place to store the Arc."

"That's right BT."

I spent the next few hours redesigning an arm for his ass. Stronger and lighter alloys made up the new frame, and so many goodies to work with. This universe had shielding technology compatible with our own, letting me double BT's. In between that I tinkered with some of my gear as I ran through available gun designs matching with my Volt. With a little tinkering I could fuel my gun with the new ammo this universe gave me.

It was fascinating seeing the entirely different directions we both went in regards to laser technology. How much I could use theirs to augment my own. Oh the modifications. It was a mechanic's wonderland. My wonderland.

I stepped back, wiping the sweat off my forehead. "There. How do you like it?" I grinned.

He held up his new arm, shining with a gunmetal alloy. "Observation. It is three times stronger than my left. And the new upgrades are satisfactory."

"Way to make a girl feel good about her work." I huffed.

"The new shielding is better than anything recorded from IMC." He hurriedly added. "I believe with these upgrades I'm on par with the best highly modified titans, and you have done little to change the rest of my frame."

I blushed at that. "Ha. Flatterer. No, I have big plans BT. It's why I didn't mess with much of your frame." I hit his new metal hand. "This titan body is just a prototype."

"I see."

I smiled pleasantly.

I could feel it. This was the start of something big.

BT's head jerked up.

Alarms started ringing.

"Pilot. My scanners are picking up a ship in the upper atmosphere. Comparable to other data it is an anomaly. Running schematics indicates a... hostile disposition."

My eyes widened. "BT?"

"Eden Prime is under siege."

Was there even a second thought?

"BT, online!" I growled, grabbing my Volt.

His eye flashed blue as his hand clasped around his TPAR. "Understood. Protect civilians."

With the Arc in the pilot's seat, I couldn't pilot him.

Which was just fine. This was a farming world. Whoever wanted to attack a place like this I wanted to personally wring my hands around their neck.

"You're on guard duty BT. We both know you can protect them better than I can." I called out through my helmet, running along the buildings as my hud pinpointed the insurgents.

"My calculations indicate I have a 67% chance of protecting them better than you would."

"Don't need to rub it in." I mutter, eyes narrowing at the hordes of robots coming from multiple locations. They looked like Spectres, kind of. But in a more… hivemind. What kind of serious malfunction had to happen to make AIs so twisted?

BT knew the protocol. Gather civilians while protecting them. Usher them to bunkers, or some sort of safe place. This many… um, 'Geth', could result in heavy casualties otherwise.

And, with the civilians out of the way… I could go wild.

…...

Tali'Zorah

The new human planet of Eden Prime seemed like a great way to start my Pilgrimage. A farming planet to get me used to life without the Fleet. Everyone was so nice, and then…

The Geth.

What did they want with a planet like this? I struggled to survive with my limited gun knowledge, but I did.

"You okay?"

Through no merit of my own.

"I… yes." I said nervously, taking the woman's hand. The casual ease as she tore through Geth, I-

"Hey, I'm not gonna hurt you okay?" She put her hands up placatingly.

"No-it's fine I just-" But she was scary. Seeing someone rip a Geth in half with their bare hands…

"I'm Jane."

I breathed in shakily. "Um, Tali'Zorah."

She nodded, before jerking her head to the right. "I have to go now." Jane cast me a glance. "Here."

The lady unholstered a pistol with the grip pointed at me.

"Huh? No, um-"

"Hey," She gripped her hands in mine, and I let my fingers coil around the cool metal of her gun. "It'll be okay. Link this to your visor. You don't have to be good with a firearm, just let it lock and shoot. You can get through this." I could feel her eyes stare into mine.. "I promise."

As she left I stood there. Thinking about…

How gentle her hands were.

…...

Hell, a real fucking alien.

I mean, with this universe, I knew about them from the brief overview BT gave me, but… it still felt surreal. Maybe because her species are obligated to wear masks, or something? Either way it only left me even more curious.

But that had to wait.

Geth had to die.

"Ha!"

They were easier than specteres, fucking strong robots they were. Didn't exactly go down easy either, unless you hand a whole kit to combat mechanical enemies.

Luckily for me, I came fully decked to go mano a mano with way bigger ass robots. I was one of those types of pilots. The Titan killing kind.

Hordes of Geth didn't stand a chance against a highly versatile combatant like me.

They were fucking everywhere though.

A stray blast, more luck than skill, ripped across my shoulder. "RH! Motherfucker!"

I ripped my hand into his metal face, ripping it off. I was normally a lot calmer than this. But I had something called Combat Bloodlust.

With the mass of enemies a pilot has to face, and has to kill, our brains trigger to any form of combat with a burst of unprecedented brain activity. It was half of what made pilots so deadly on the field.

A brain hot wired to filter a focus utterly devoid of hesitation, fueled by adrenaline, turning someone even with the mildest aggressive capabilities to look at things and everything with a type of situational awareness that let them use the world as a jungle gym.

I ricocheted off the walls, unpinning an Arc grenade as the building blew up.

My grenade detonated, sending a massive mobile turret crashing to the ground. Over a hundred geth were crushed and a few dozen others damaged from the explosion.

Yeah, I was a badass.

But I couldn't keep this up forever.

"BT." I called over our coms.

"Pilot?"

"Show me a map of Eden Prime. Layer it with all types of defenses available."

"Understood."

In my hud I could see the whole of Eden Prime. My brows furrowed as I thought.

"BT, what's that right there?" I pointed at a hexagon like shape, surrounded by turrets and fortified walls going underground.

"The most secure location for the entirety of the civilians. It is where I currently defend."

I nod. "This is a siege. There's to many of them, even for me. I'll rendezvous there with you and broadcast a distress signal."

Most of this new settlement will be destroyed, but if I could just hold the line long enough, the people could get out of this alive.

Watcha think? My take on a Mass Effect Titanfall crossover! I love Titanfall 2, although I've only played the first game of Mass Effect.
