I get up at 6 to get ready and then eventually head down to breakfast
Lily, Marlene, Mary, and Alice are still asleep
I wish I was too but when you have a brother, there is no hope for sleeping in, so you just get used to it
I shower and by 6:30 I am walking down to the Common Room
I walk up to the Boys' Dorm to get James and Sirius up
I know that Moony will already be up and there is no hope in getting Peter up
I barge into the room and only Frank and Remus are up
"Good Morning, boys!"
There is a collective groan from both James and Sirius
"Hey Mack" Frank smiles at me
"Hey Frank, Alice isn't up yet but she should be down soon"
"Moons! How are you feeling this fine morning?"
"Like shit but thanks for asking" Remus smiles at me
I go over to James' bed, rip the hangings open and get close to my brothers ear
"Potter! You arrogant toerag! Get up!"
"Lily-Flower?!" James shoots up in bed and groans when he realizes it's just me
The boys and I laugh while James throws a pillow at me
"Poor James, no Lily, no aim, he's hopeless"
"Hey Mack?" James grumbles into his pillow
"Yes, my dear brother?"
"Shut up"
"What? Did you not like my tactics? I was really channeling Lily there, I think she would be proud"
Remus and Frank laughed watching us
Sirius is still dead to the world or more like pretending so I go over to his bed
I sit on the foot of Sirius' bed and turn towards Frank, who's bed is right next to Sirius'
"You know Frank, Alice and I just went shopping a couple weeks ago"
"Oh really?" He said looking amused
"Yeah and we got some new underwear, and I was just complaining about how horrible it is that I don't think my boobs with fit in such a skimpy bra and it's a real shame for it to go to waste-"
At that point Sirius and James both shot up in bed although for very different reasons
"What about your rack being too big?"
"Oh I'm sorry was that the only reason you got up because that was just so we could head down to breakfast"
"So that was a lie?!"
"Yep! Well no actually, the underwear part was true, but the part about it being put to waste was a lie"
I smirk at the faces that the boys are making at me and James runs to the bathroom to puke
"I think the thought of his baby sister having sex was a little much for him" I say and look at the door
"Yeah, maybe just a bit" Remus tells me and laughs
"Don't worry James, it's not like it will be the first time!"
I yell at him through the door and he groans and then pukes again
"I hate you" He grumbles and walks out of the bathroom
"I love you too, big brother"
"Wait a minute! Who did you-" James shudders, not able to even say it
"-have sex with?" I finish for him
He shudders again and replies "Yeah-"
"Hmm let's see... there was Benjy Fenwick, Henry Thomas, and Re-"
"Woah, woah, woah! Stop right there! I don't want to here anymore from you!"
Remus and I look at each other briefly, realizing what I just almost revealed
"I can't do this! How are the rest of you okay with this?!"
"James-"
"You! I don't want to hear anything from you!"
"Mate, come on you can't protect her forever!"
"Moony, not the time for your flawless skills as a guidance counselor!"
Sirius is just staring at me weirdly
"What?"
"Nothing, just- never mind"
"Okay you weirdo, whatever you say..."
He keeps staring at me though and I can't shake the feeling that he knows what I was about to say before James interrupted me but I shake my head and decide to leave this incredibly unnecessary conversation
"Well congrats, James! I don't know why you did this to yourself, but most importantly none of you can go beating people up because then we might not have a quidditch team"
I walk out and the boys are all gaping at me
"Oh close your mouths, you all look like fish out of water"
And with that I head down to breakfast in the Great Hall
"Mates, my sister is having- eugh" James shudders again once Mack leaves the room
Frank looks at us all and just laughs
"I mean are you really all that surprised? She's hot and everyone knows it but since she's got you lot wrapped around her fingers, no one even bothers with her unless she asks someone"
"Oi! Frank, you have a girlfriend!l
"Yeah, James I know but in all honesty, I would've dated Mack if you lot weren't around her all the time"
We just gape at him except Peter who is still sleeping peacefully
"Oh my god... she's turning into Sirius!" James yells out
"Oi! I take offense- oh my god! You're right, she's turning into me! We can't let this happen Prongs! We have to tell every boy to back off!"
"Yeah! And starting with that no good beater, Fabian Prewett! He was making googly eyes at her yesterday in the Common Room!"
I suddenly get a flash of jealousy in my chest but I ignore it because it's just me being a protective brother, right?
"All in favor of pounding every part of the male population into the ground to keep away from my sister, say I!"
"James, I don't think this is the best idea, I mean we all know how she gets when..."
"Moony, this is for the greater good!" I counter
"ALL IN FAVOR OF KILLING THE MALE SPECIES!" James yells
"I!" We all say all though, Moony and Frank with less enthusiasm that James and I
And right then Peter wakes up
"What's happening, why are we "I!"ing?!"
"Mack is having sex!" We all say, again, Moony and Frank with less enthusiasm than James and I
"What?! Since when?! With who?!" Peter sits up in bed
"It doesn't matter, it is her business" Moony interrupts James before he can speak and covers his mouth
There something weird about what just happened it's like Moony knows something we don't
Like maybe someone she's been with...
I don't dwell on it too much though and get out of bed to change into my robes
"Well boys, I'm starving so let's get to breakfast!" I stand up and we all head out of the door
I see Lucy in the Common Room and go up to her
"Hey, Luce! How was your first night at Hogwarts?"
"Hey Mack! It was so great! I can't wait to watch Quidditch and hang out with my brothers and your friends! I'm so excited!"
"Well why don't we head to the Great Hall for some breakfast, huh?"
"Okay! Oh Mack, what were you doing up in the Boys' Dorm?"
"I was with my brother and our friends. They all share a dorm so I wake them up in the morning since Frank and Remus are the only responsible ones that get up on time"
We laugh at the boys' immaturity
"How do you wake them up?"
"Well...in ways that I would not like you to hear about until you are 30 but this morning it wasn't too bad... I woke up James by pretending to be Lily and yelling at him"
I laugh at the memory and Lucy laughs too
"What about Sirius?"
"Oh I can't tell you that one... sorry Luce, I want to keep you as innocent as possible"
"But- Mack" she whines
"Lucy" I whine right back at her
"Break it up, children!"
I turn and see the twins walking towards us
"Hi Gideon, Fab" I make sure to make my voice sound super flirty when I greet Fab
Gideon laughs at me making fun of his brother but chances the subject
"So what were you and little Lucy here whining about?"
"Well, Gideon, I was telling Lucy here about how I wake the boys up in the morning but the things that I have to say to get Sirius out of bed are not appropriate for little firstie ears"
"Well we aren't firsties, so tell us!"
I cover Lucy's ears much to her protest and tell the boys what happened upstairs only a couple minutes ago and they are both laughing so hard that they are on the floor
I uncover Lucy's ears and she looks pissed
"Merlin Lucy, if looks could kill, you must get that from Molly" I tell her laughing
"How'd you know?"
"Oh Lucy, you know how she is with your brothers at home but imagine at school, she was and still is terrifying"
"Really?!"
"Oh yeah, boys remember the 'Wednesday Incident'?"
"What's the 'Wednesday Incident'?"
"Well Lucy-"
"NO!" The twins both shout at me
"Well never mind then, sorry Luce"
"Ugh, you guys tell me nothing!"
The boys dissolve into another fit of laughter
Once the boys manage to get themselves together and look at me confused for a second
"Wait, is that why James and Sirius yelled 'ALL IN FAVOR OF KILLING THE MALE SPECIES' a couple minutes ago?"
"Oh my god, I am going to kill them! They are so dead! Sirius won't have a dick in a minute! Let me go!"
The boys are holding me back and Lucy looks amused but very concerned
The girls walk down the stairs and see that I am being held back by the twins
"Oi! What did the boys do this time" Marlene grabs me and let's the boys off the hook
"More like what did Potter do" Lily scoffs
"Yes Lils, it is what did James do! He is so dead! I am going to kill him for meddling in my life! Oh, he will pay in ways that I can not say in front of Lucy right now!"
"Good Godric, you are scary when you are angry!" Fab points out
"Yeah, we know" We all say at the same time
I let the girls drag be off to the Great Hall while the twins and Lucy follow behind
"Lily, you are the most sensible person I know! So are you Alice!"
"Hey!" Marlene shouts
"Oh, don't even Marls, you had sex with Sirius in a broom closet"
"Mack!"
"Lily, for the last time! Lucy is related to the twins! And Molly!"
"Ugh whatever, why are Alice and I sensible?"
"Lily, you ignore my brother and his antics and Alice, sweet, sweet Alice is dating sweet, sweet Frank who is also occasionally my lover but that's besides the point! You both have the common sense to start away from boys that have- well to be Frank about it-"
"Alice, I love you! Will you marry me? Oi Black! Stop hitting Potter in the arse with that bat!" Marlene imitates Frank
Alice just blushes and looks away from Marlene and I laugh at her very accurate reenactment of quidditch practice
"Not what I meant but very true! I mean that you have the common sense to be with or ignore guys with common sense... I am not so lucky and got stuck with my prats"
"Oh you love them, so shut it!" Marlene tells me
"Yeah, I do"
We get to the Great Hall and I sit down in my usual spot with the girls
The twins and Lucy join us today though Gideon leaves to go sit with Danielle Johnson and Alexander Jordan down the table
Lucy sits down on my left and Fab sits down on my right
Lily and Marlene sit across from me and Alice must have seen Frank which can only mean my prats have come down for breakfast
"It only makes it worse if you just stand there and stare at me you know" I say and take a sip of coffee
"How does she always do that? How do you always do that?"
"You're just too predictable Jamie"
"I am not predictable!" I say with him
"What did I just say?" I turn around and ask him cheekily
"Oh sod off, we have come to inform you that we aren't allowing you to get to within 6 feet of any member of the male species unless they are us, gay, or dating someone"
"I'm sorry, what?!" I almost spit my coffee out
"We said-"
"I know what you said but what gives you the right to decide that for me?!"
"Um, the fact that I am your older brother!"
"By 3 minutes!"
"The best 3 minutes of my life" James scoffs
I cover Lucy's ears and I can only imagine what I look like yelling at James but with no sound
"James, so what?! I've shagged a couple of guys! Sirius has shagged half of the female population at this school but you don't say anything! It's such a double standard!"
"Mack, I'm just trying to protect you from guys like Sirius!"
"I know you are but screw that! I can do what I want with whoever I want and I don't need to ask your permission!"
"I told you this was a bad idea, mate" Remus turns to James
"James, just leave this be, I'll be fine plus it's not like I don't know how to take care of myself"
"I guess so, but if anyone hurts you they will be killed!"
"Okay, Jamie, okay"
I get up to hug him and kiss his cheek
"I love you Kenz"
"Yeah, I know, I love you too"
"Fenwick! I will kill you!" Sirius yells at Benjy who is sitting at the opposite end of the table
"Oh chill out! He didn't take my virginity or anything!"
"So that's what we've been taking about all day?" Lucy asks
"Bollocks, you weren't supposed to hear that part!"
Benjy looks at us with wide eyes and Mary smacks him upside his head
"It was last year Mary! Calm down!"
"Don't worry, Mary! He's all yours!" I yell to her
She smiles at me and smacks Benjy one more time for good measure
"Hey Fenwick!" Mack yells
"Yeah?"
"Never tell your girlfriend to calm down, especially when she's one of my best friends" Mack smirks at him and Mary sends her a appreciative smile
"Mary, I don't care how good a shag he is, if he does anything, I will kill him" I tell her and she laughs
"Ms. Potter, this is not appropriate breakfast talk, please do remember there are young children here" Minnie warns
"Minnie, with all due respect, if these 'young children' as you call them, are going to be going to school here when Sirius is, then they better not walk into any broom closets or be prepared for the urge to scoop their eyes out with a spoon and believe me, I would know... I have seen more of Amelia Warden then I would've ever wanted to" I shudder at the thought and I can tell Minnie is trying not to smirk at me
I'm obviously her favorite, I don't know why she tries to hide it
"Ms. Potter, thank you for that warning to the younger students and please do continue your breakfast conversations more quietly this time" Minnie has the ghost of a smile on her lips and turns back to her breakfast
When I sit back down everyone is looking at me
"What the bloody hell do you lot want!"
"Why does Minnie always let you off?! I don't understand what is so special about you!"
"Oh for Merlin's sake" I pinch my nose
I stand up and look straight at Minnie and I can see the regret in her eyes of ever knowing me
"Minnie, would you please explain to my much older and less attractive brother why you love me so much more than the boys"
"Mr. Potter, Mr. Black, Mr. Lupin, and Mr. Pettigrew, I don't have favorites all though Ms. Potter is indeed the most tolerable out of all of you and therefore- how was it- oh yes, I love her much more than I love you boys"
The boys gape at me and I gave her my biggest grin
"Minnie! You just made my day! Dumbledore don't you dare get rid of her!"
"Oh and James, this one goes out to you!"
I point at my brother and then grab Remus' hand to cover Lucy's eyes
He looks confused at me but does it anyway
"Mack, this is getting annoying!" Lucy whines
I grab Fabian by his tie and kiss him
The Gryffindor table is cheering and whistling at us
I let Remus uncover Lucy's eyes and she looks between me and Fab
"Did you kiss because he looks like a lovesick idiot"
Remus snorts into his tea and looks at Lucy with pride
I can already tell that she is going to fit in well with our friends
"Yeah Luce, we did! Now if you all will excuse me, Fab and I have somewhere else to be"
I take Fabian's hand and drag him out of the Great Hall
