Hello, Second Chapter!
Did you guys like the first one? Please let me know what you thought! I can't believe I got 2 chapters in one day :D
Enjoy...
Korra slowly opened her eyes, not completely aware of her surroundings, but she still felt a really painful ache throughout her body. Everything was a blur and she felt light headed, the sight of Mako falling unconscious on the ground blinding her sight. She closed her eyes for a few seconds until opening them again. She then realised she was chained on a wall, her wrists and ankles under cuffs that were bolted to the wall holding her securely against the walls hard surface. She resisted and struggled, but it was no use, she felt too weak. Korra looked around her, she was in a cell, a man standing in it with her in the far corner next to a bucket filled with water.
She could see just a bit past the cell bars, seeing a figure emerge from the shadows. As her eyes adjusted to the slight darkness, she saw a tall man wearing all black, a scar on his face running from the top side of his forehead all the way down to his neck. He stared into Korra's eyes that were brimming with pain and fear. "Wh-who are you?" her voice barely audible. "We are the Agni Kais. And I am their leader, Ukanu." He firmly said.
"So what do you want with me? And why did you have to restrain me to the wall?" she didn't even bother to try and break free anymore. "All of our lairs, hideouts and bases have been stolen by the other triads, so we have been forced to hide here, in this empty warehouse. We have been struggling for almost 1 year now, and things have to change." Korra raised a brow.
"You're probably wondering what that has to do with you, Avatar. We are preparing for a big turf war and we don't want anyone standing in our way. We have some terms to settle with you to ensure the success of our plans." A smirk on his face. "And, if I don't?" she tried to show him that she wasn't afraid. "We have ways to and convince, even if it takes a month of... persuasion. And you should really consider your current condition." he said, taunting her.
Should I give in, to save a whole new world full of pain?
Her eyes filled with hurt and confusion, she looked right to his face and opened her mouth to say something, until she was stopped. "Come on, what's that face for, this is simply business." His grin becoming wider as Korra felt rage inside her. "Business? How is this business, y-you're cri-"
"Criminals. Yes. But we are doing what we have to to survive." He cut her off. A few moments of silence surrounded the room.
She knew that some people are forced into this life, and it was her job to do something about that, but it doesn't mean people have to do, this.
"Here's the deal, we will let you go if you convince Tenzin, the Police or anyone else who will, to stay out of our way and let our plans go ahead."
She didn't know what to do, she was overwhelmed, in pain and tired, but she couldn't agree to this, even at the expense of her safety. What kind of Avatar wound she be if she just gave up.
"And if I do, it would help another criminal triad to be successful and increase the level of crime in the city. I think my answer is no." She firmly told Ukanu.
"Well, you will soon change your mind."
His 'reassurance' gave Korra chills. She dropped her head letting her free hair dangle and cover her face. She had lost all hope.
Mako was laid on a bed in a medic room with Tenzin, Bolin, Asami and a White Lotus guard. The room was silent, everyone had worried expressions and Bolin was getting fidgety and anxious, waiting for Mako to wake up. Mako opened his eyes, his vision was a bit blurry, but didn't care. He shot up, startling everyone in the room. "They- they took Korra! It's all my fault, I can't believe they took her." Everyone was so surprised with his sudden outburst.
"Bro, you're ok!" Bolin went up to Mako and hugged him. "Bo, I'm fine but Kor-" "It's ok Mako. Tenzin sent out a search party about an hour ago, and the police are searching too. Right now, you need to rest a bit." Bolin knew his brother felt guilty, but what mattered now is finding Korra and bringing her back to safety.
"We'll search the entire city if we have to!" Tenzin added, also feeling very concerned for Korra.
Mako was starting to make out his surroundings better, noticing Asami leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, a frown on her face. "Asami, are you alright?" He asked her, pulling her from her thoughts, not even knowing if he was alright himself. "Not really. It's just- Korra has already been through so much already!" Mako knew exactly how she felt.
"Mako, do you know who took Korra?" Tenzin thought that with this information, it could make their search for Korra somewhat easier. "The Agni Kai Triad. Me and Bolin used to come across them when we were working for the Triple Threats, but I don't know what they would want with Korra."
Silence filled the room once more. Korra's disappearance was hard on everyone. Mako really hoped they could find Korra before... it was too late.
Tenzin gestured his hands from the White Lotus guards to the door walked towards it, "I should probably check of the search party's progress and give them the extra information." He walked out, followed by the White Lotus guard and shut the door behind him leaving just the three teenagers in the room.
Mako was lost in his thoughts, thoughts about Korra. She had been put through so much, gone through so much pain. He just wished she was here beside him.
