Chapter 2

Straighten things out

"Discord, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Well, I just had to see your dimension. Not very impressed so far." He looked around the office.

"Strange thing!" Zara yelled.

"Ahh!" Ragen tried to scare him off.

"Oh, you're very noisy." Discord smiled, patting them on the head.

They turned into their fox forms. Ragen was brown except for his tail. Zara was white with a black stripe went up her spine and a few black spots on her face. Zara tried to bark. Her voice was gone. They whined and pawed at my legs.

"Now, this is interesting." He hummed.

"Hey, it's fine. He'll give it back." I rubbed their backs.

Owen walked in. He looked at Discord then at us. "Children, did you get in the safe?"

Zara and Ragen shook their head. I petted them some more. Discord swept the orb toward the trash. Owen sighed. Wind whipped around the room. Alex came to see what was going on. Puck stood in Owen's place.

"I knew I forgot something." He frowned.

"PUCK, PUCK! Weird thing here!" Zara ran up to him, standing on her hind legs.

"I know, Zara, I see." He rubbed her face.

"Go home!" Ragen yelled.

"Ragen, hush." Alex said. "We know him."

Ragen looked at him, confused.

"Let's go find Dad." Alex turned.

We found him in the lab. He was working on something. Discord curiously looked at the machinery. He turned a desk clamp into a clam. David was annoyed. We found Fox in the sun room. She saw the draconequus and followed us to the Great Hall. Puck made us explain what happened. Then we told Ragen and Zara how we met Discord.

"So, where did these two yappy guard foxes come from?" Discord pinched Zara's cheek. She frowned.

"Alex's magic made them. They're halflings like kids are." Puck explained.

"Uh huh. So, we have some time before Goliath wakes up?" Discord smiled.

"Absolutely." Dad nodded.

"Puck." David warned.

"I know, I know. It'll be fine." Puck intoned.

"I will be on my best behavior." Discord put his hand on his heart.
