It had been a year since Princess Aurora married her beloved Prince Phillip, and she had never been happier. Or at least, that is what she led everyone to believe. In the beginning, she had been incredibly happy, but that changed as time went on. Aurora began to realize that marrying a man very shortly after having met him was perhaps not the best idea. There was so much about Phillip that she did not know about, so how could she truly love him the way she thought she did, and how could he truly love her? But little did Aurora know that her true wake up call would come very soon. Maleficent and some of her villainous allies had risen up to once again attempt to destroy Aurora and her kingdom. Phillip had gathered his troops and marched off to try and intercept them. Aurora stood by the window of her bedchamber, anxiously watching the ensuing battle below. When it looked as though Phillip's side was coming close to victory, Aurora breathed a sigh of relief. Though her heart no longer held any romantic feelings for her husband, she still loved him as a friend and would not know what she would do if he perished in battle. But just as she had begun to relax, the last remaining villain caught Phillip off guard and managed to run him through before a soldier nearby struck her down. Gasping in horror, Aurora practically flew out of her room and down the vast halls until she was outside in the courtyard where the soldiers could be seen gathered around the prince. " Move aside! Let me see him!" Aurora demanded, pushing through the crowd until she reached her husband. The sight that greeted her left her frozen in shock. " Phillip!" She cried, kneeling down next to the dying young prince. " Phillip, hold on! Do not worry, you will be alright. I will find a way to save you." " Aurora… I am sorry. It is too late for me." Phillip gasped through the pain. The princess shook her head. "No! Do not say such a thing. Just hold on a bit longer… there has to be a way-" Aurora stopped, her eyes having lit up as though a brilliant idea had crossed her mind. Phillip watched in surprise as his wife ran faster than he thought was humanly possible back into the castle. As she approached the guest chambers where her three aunts resided, Aurora slowed down, silently tiptoeing to the cabinet where she knew the elderly fairies kept their wands. Grabbing one, the golden haired princess quickly whispered, " Please forgive me, Aunt Flora. " before using the wand to create a portal to another world. Taking a deep breath, Aurora stepped through it, emerging on the other side into the legendary land of Narnia. Thankfully, the portal had taken her to the exact place she had envisioned; Cair Paravel, the grand palace where the four kings and queens resided. " Halt! Who goes there?" A gruff voice demanded. Spinning around to address the person, Aurora's eyes widened. A fierce looking centaur towered over her, pointing his sword at her throat. " Please, my good sir… I mean no harm. I am Princess Aurora of France, and I have come with an urgent matter to discuss with High King Peter." The centaur sheathed his sword, offered his apologies, and led her into the throne room. As Aurora made her way to the threshold where High King Peter and King Edmund sat high on their thrones, she could not help but gawk at them. High King Peter in particular captured her attention, and she realized just how true everything she had heard about him was; he was truly a magnificent figure. " Your Majesties, may I present Princess Aurora of the faraway land of France." The centaur guard announced. Curtsying low, Aurora greeted, " It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesties. Your reputations proceed you." " The pleasure is ours, Princess." King Edmund replied. " We have heard tales of your ordeal with the Black Fairy." " Yes, how frightening that must have been!" King Peter cut in. " But I suppose congratulations are in order now that she is defeated and you are happily married and at peace." Tears threatened to spill from Aurora's eyes. " That is actually the reason why I have come, Your Majesty. Maleficent somehow survived and gathered an army to attack my kingdom once again. My troops managed to strike them all down once and for all, but my husband Phillip was gravely injured during the battle, and he is dying as we speak. I have heard of Queen Lucy's miraculous healing liquid, and so I humbly ask that you use it to heal Phillip." " Out of the question!" King Peter barked. " Your predicament is unfortunate, but it has nothing to do with us. Why should I allow my sister to use such precious medicine on a complete stranger, and a foreigner at that?" " I understand Your Majesty, but with the condition my husband is currently in, Queen Lucy's medicine is my only option." Aurora got down on her knees and continued, " I beg you, please help my husband. He may have no connection to you or Narnia, but he is an innocent young man who does not deserve to die; not now, and not like this. Surely you cannot turn a blind eye to someone in need!" " Enough!" King Edmund interrupted. " I am sorry, but I agree with my brother. You will have to find someone else to help your husband because we will not." " Please Your Majesties! I beg you… help me! Help Phillip! I cannot let him die!" Aurora screamed. " You dare to raise your voice at us?" King Peter growled. " I suggest you leave now before I have you thrown in the dungeon." Aurora stood up, glaring at the two kings in anger. " Very well, Your Majesties, I will go… but I must say that I am terribly disappointed. I was told you were brave, kind, and wise beyond your years… but it seems that is not true." With that, she exited the throne room, tears pouring down her face. As soon as Aurora was outside, she scolded herself. " Aurora, you fool! This will not do. You came all this way to save Phillip, and that is what you must do, no matter the cost. You must not let those coldhearted boys get in your way. No, you must get Queen Lucy's vial somehow." Wiping away her tears, Aurora took a deep breath and snuck back into the castle, maneuvering through the vast halls until she finally came upon what appeared to be Queen Lucy's private chambers. After checking to see if anyone was inside, the princess tentatively opened the door and stepped inside. Scanning the room thoroughly, Aurora spotted the legendary vial atop dresser beside the queen's bed. " Yes! Thank Heavens!" Aurora breathed a sigh of relief. Grabbing it, she whispered, " Do not worry, Phillip… I am coming for you, and you will be healed in no time."
