10 years later - Present Day

"So, are you sure about doing this, Pete?" I asked as we landed on Morag. Peter had been talking about betraying Yondu and keeping this orb for ourselves to sell to the Broker. He asked if I would join him and I couldn't say no. Well, I could've but I honestly was thinking about getting out myself and this was the perfect excuse. Although, I mainly did it to be with Peter.

"I'm sure. This is the only chance to do our own thing." Peter said. I hummed and Peter suddenly came in front of me and kissed me lovingly. "Are you having doubts?"

"No." I answered. "I just hate that I'll be betraying my brother." I added. Peter nodded and kissed my forehead.

"I'm sure he'll eventually understand." He said before stepping back and headed to the door. I followed over and he said, "All right, I'll be back."

I nodded and kissed him deeply. "Be careful." I said when we pulled apart.

"Always." Peter said as he activated his mask and headed out. I sat on the chair that was next to the Captain's seat and closed my eyes, running my hand through my long light brown hair. I then thought about when we got together.

5 years earlier

We had just arrived at our destination and were hanging out in a lodge for the night. I sat down on the bed and sighed. I was exhausted and so ready to pass out in a deep sleep.

"Hey, Katty." Peter said and I looked up at Peter.

"What is it?" I asked as I stood up and went over to him. He was quiet for a moment before turning towards me; grabbing me by the waist and pulled me toward him as his lips pressed against mine. My eyes widened in surprise and I was frozen. I hadn't been expecting him to kiss me out of the blue. I broke the kiss and stepped away. "What the hell, Pete?" I asked confused.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Peter said looking a little ashamed and nervous. "It's just, I've been wanting to do that for awhile now." My eyes widened once more.

"Peter." I said nervously. A part of me was ecstatic but the other part was doubtful. I didn't want to be one of his little flings. "Peter, I appreciate that but...I don't know if I can." I paused. I might as well tell him. "My feelings for you are real. I've been in love with you for a long time. I can't bear to be one of your many conquests. Let's just forget it ever happened." I said and went to turn around until I felt a hand grab my wrist and was pulled back into his arms.

"Katty, you didn't let me explain." Peter said. "I've been having these feelings for you for a while now. I don't want you to be a one night stand or a fling. I want you to be my girlfriend. I love you, Katty." Peter added on. I wanted to cry right then and there. Peter felt the same as me.

I smiled and said, "I love you too, Pete." Peter grinned and leaned down, kissing me deeply and lovingly.

I was brought out of my daydream by the door banging open and some weird aliens with guns rushed in and yelled in a language I couldn't understand. "Whoa, whoa. Take it easy!" I said quickly and raised my hands in surrender and was ushered out of the ship. I was shoved to my knees. "Ow, love to see that this is how you treat a lady." I said, while glaring at them. There were three that surrounded me and I tried thinking of a way to get out of this situation and find Peter.

We soon heard yelling and gunshots. I looked and saw Peter running from another group of the aliens. While they were distracted, I pulled out my small knife and stabbed one of the aliens. It yelled in pain and the other two focused back on me but I quickly kicked one into the other one, knocking them over. I rushed back to our ship and got in with Peter falling in right behind me. I started the ship and we took off with them shooting at us.

"What did you do this time, Peter?!" I exclaimed as we dodged shots.

"Nothing!" Peter exclaimed as he went to his seat and laughed as we began to get away. Although we suddenly got caught in a water spout and began to tip and the ship ended up turning upside down, Peter and I falling out of seats and landing on the window. Then the ship began falling as the water spout dissipated. I fell backwards the back of the ship but grabbed a bar to stop myself as Peter reached for the knob to level the ship and keep it from crashing. He managed to grab it at the last second and the ship leveled out upright. I sat on the stairs and tried to get my breath back.

"You good, babe?" Peter asked and I nodded.

"Can we just get off this planet?" I said while shaking my head and Peter laughed a little. We got in our seats and took off.

Once we were back in space, we placed the ship on auto-pilot and went down into the lounge area as Peter turned on the news.

"Scattered riots broke out across the Kree Empire today, protesting the recent peace treaty signed by the Kree Emperor and Xandar's Nova Prime." The news reporter said. Suddenly, the call screen showed up and Yondu's face showed up on-screen.

"Quill? Kat?" Yondu said. Peter and I looked at him wide-eyed.

"Hey, Yondu." Peter said, trying to act calm and collected.

"I'm here on Morag. Ain't no Orb, ain't no you." Yondu said, clearly annoyed.

"Well, we were in the neighborhood. I thought I'd save you the hassle." Peter replied. This went on between the two for a while before Peter cut off the call.

"You know that was a bad idea, right?" I asked, clearly amused.

"Nothing we haven't dealt with before." Peter said with a smirk and stood next to me and leaned down on the table.

"True." I replied back. Peter leaned down and kissed me and I kissed back eagerly. Peter deepened the kiss and pulled me to him, picking me up. I moaned and wrapped my legs around his waist. He then brought us to our sleeping quarters and I shrugged off my trenchcoat before he laid me on the bed, never breaking our kiss. I shoved Peter's Ravager jacket off and pulled his t-shirt off, my hands exploring his chest and abs as we had some fun...

...We both took a moment to calm ourselves down before Peter laid down beside me and I rolled over, placing my head and hand on his chest, as Peter wrapped his arm around me and stroked my hip and kissed the top of my head. I just wish we could stay like this forever.

3rd Person POV

After Peter ended the call, Yondu said angrily, "Put a bounty on them! Forty K. But I want Quill and Kat back alive!"

"Yeah, Cap." Kraglin said nervously. "What's gonna happen to Kat?" He knew that Peter would most likely be killed, he just hoped his sister wouldn't be.

"I'll let you deal with your sister." Yondu said, irritated. "I can't believe she of all people would betray me."

"I'm sorry, Cap." Kraglin said. 'What is Kat thinking, deserting the Cap like that? She was gonna be killed. Damn Quill for making her betray them.'

"You want him back alive?" One of Yondu's men said, shocked.

"That's what I said." Yondu said, getting more and more irritated.

"I told you when you picked that kid up, you should have delivered him like we was hired to do! He was cargo! You have always been soft on him." The guy continued on.

"You're the only one I'm being soft on!" Yondu yelled, his arrow showing. "Now, don't you worry about Mr. Quill. As soon as we get him back here, I'm gonna kill him myself and Kraglin will take care of Kat. What we do need to worry about, is who else out there wants that orb!" Yondu commanded.
