chapter 2
Hot shot was busy with his chores. "There all done," He said.
"Hey Hot shot it's time for your, mentor training," Heatwave told him.
"Okay coming," Hot shot said. "What is the training Heatwave?" he asked.
"Okay Hot shot there is a fire safety meet for the kindergarten class on griffin rock and I want you to help Kade I give the lecture for what to do for fire safety and any emergency," Heatwave said.
"Okay," Hot shot said.
They made it to the Griffin rock elementary school. "Class today we have special visitors Kade, Heatwave and rescue bot recruit Hot shot." Hailey said.
"Thank you Hailey," Kade said. "Okay class we are going to learn about fire safety and what to do in an emergency," he said. "First thing is first what do you do if your house is on fire?" he asked.
A kid raised her hand. "Yes?" Kade said.
"Call 911," she said.
"Yes that's right you must tell them your name, your address and what kind emergency it is when you call your emergency helpline," Kade said. "Now if you are in a burning building you must crawl on the ground to get out of the building." he said. "Because that way you won't breathe in the smoke," he told them. "Also if you see firefighter like me come in and might be wearing great deal of equipment don't become scared and run away we are going to help you," he told them.
"What does the equipment look like?" a boy asked.
Kade got on his equipment. "Here it is, and it will help me breathe and see in the smoke," Kade told them.
A girl raised her hand. "My uncle on the main land is fire fighter and he always told me when in a burning build and you are trying to get out you should feel the doors to make sure they are not hot," she said.
"That is right, your uncle told you that because if the door is hot there is likely fire behind the door." Kade said. "That is why it is best to have alternate escape route." he told them. He held something up. "You know what this is?" he asked the class.
"It's a smoke detector." a boy said.
"That's right," Kade said. "What are somethings you should never do in a fire?" he asked.
"Hide you should never hide," the girl from earlier said.
"That's right it's never a good idea to hide in a burning building," Kade said.
"Never go back inside," a boy said.
"That's right never go back inside," Kade said.
"Now if you clothes catch on fire don't panic, stop, drop and roll." he said. "What are somethings you should never do to prevent a fire from starting?" he asked.
"Don't mess with electrical devices," a kid said.
"Don't mess with fuels," a boy said.
"Be careful around stoves," a girl said.
"Always make sure you campfire is completely out," a boy said.
"Never play with matches or lighters," a girl said.
"Never mess around with fireworks," a boy said.
"All very good," Kade said. "Heatwave and Hot shot are going to he outside and show you what we use fire trucks for," Kade told them.
Outside Kade showed them Heatwave's and Hot shot's hoses. "These houses are really powerful and they can spray with a lot of force. With Heatwave I can hold it by myself no problem if he was regular fire truck I would need help holding it to control it." Kade told them. "Heatwave's ladder helps me climb up to places that are hard to reach to put out fires or save someone who is trapped." he said. "Fire trucks have sirens to let other vehicles know to get out of the way if there is an emergency that firefighters need to get too." he said.
Things were pretty calm Kade and Hailey were talking. "Kade and Hailey seem to get along just fine," Hot shot said.
"True they do," Heatwave said. "They are dating," he said.
"Miss Hailey me and Mark have to use the bathroom," a little boy said.
"Okay Oliver go inside," Hailey said.
When inside the two young boys saw the cafeteria. "Looks like they are fixing pizza today," Mark said.
"Yeah," Oliver said.
Then something in the kitchen caught fire and the school started to burn. Hot shot saw the smoke. "Um Heatwave, Kade," Hot shot said pointing.
"What happened?" Kade asked a cook as she got out.
"The stove burst into flames." she told him.
"We got to get the kids out." Kade said.
"Hot shot you are smaller than me go inside to find the kids and help them out if they are having trouble." Heatwave told him.
"Right," Hot shot said and went inside. He was looking for the kids. He saw them leaving the classrooms. "Everyone out and get out calmly," he said. Then he heard a help me. He saw the boys room door it was stuck shut. "Mark, Oliver you to in there?" he asked.
"Yes the door is stuck and some wire in here from the hand dryer sparked and it's burning it's hard to breathe." Oliver said.
"Oliver you and Mark stand back and get down I am going to break down the door okay then follow me out," Hot shot told them.
Oliver and Mark moved back. "We're ready." Mark said.
Hot shot broke down the door and saw the kids and the fire was about scorch them and Hot shot got in front of them and put out the fire with his foam for electrical fires. "Mark, and Oliver stay close to me," he told them.
They got out. Oliver and Mark were safe. Heatwave came over. "Are you okay Hot shot?" he aske him.
"Yes," Hot shot said.
"All students, teachers and staff safe and accounted for," the principal said.
"That is good, and the fire is out now." Kade said.
"A fire started in the boys room as well Kade a hand dryer short circuited and Mark and Oliver got stuck inside the bathroom because the door became jammed and the window was too high for them to get too." Hot shot said.
"Hot shot broke down the door and got us out," Mark said.
"Good Hot shot that was very good," Heatwave said.
"Looks like we need to have the wiring fixed and replaced and the stove replaced," the principal said.
Hot shot was now relaxing at the academy. "You did well today Hot shot," Heatwave told him.
"Thanks Heatwave," Hot shot said.
"You don't have to keep calling me by my name you know," Heatwave said.
"Oh sorry," Hot shot said.
"You know never mind," Heatwave told him.
Hot shot sighed what else was he suppose to call him?
Today was a mission and the recruits were getting ready to help. Hot shot rushed into help a kid who was too scared to move and the kid climbed on and he raced him out of there despite how reckless that was.
"Hot shot to my office now," Heatwave said.
Hot shot sat in Heatwave's office. "Hot shot that was reckless and stupid, you and that human child could've been hurt what were you thinking?" Heatwave said.
"I was only trying to help," Hot shot said.
"I know you were but you did something really dangerous." Heatwave told him. "You have any idea how badly you or the human kid could've been hurt?' he yelled.
Hot shot started to tear up then looked up at Heatwave all angry. "You know mom told me despite you being a good hero and can wit stand such high heat flames and were a hot tempered so hot tempered that she was surprised that your armor didn't melt whenever you got angry!" Hot shot said.
"She said that?" Heatwave asked.
"And more, she said you always took things too personally," Hot shot said. "She also said that you were also one who would give anyone hard time if you had a chance," he said.
"You know I love your mother but she has her bad habits too, like everything is a competition to her," Heatwave said. "She would go in head first without thinking which is what you are like, just like her!" he said.
"Ugh!" Hot shot said throwing his arms up and about to storm off.
"Come back here young man I am not done with you yet," Heatwave said. "What do you want for Cybertron's sake?" he asked.
"My MOM!" Hot shot shouted and ran off. Heatwave realized he must've been a little to hard on him, followed him to the action matrix. He saw Hot shot sitting there crying.
Heatwave sighed and came up to Hot shot. "Hot shot I am so sorry, I know what you did was bad, but the good thing is you saved that young boy that is all that matters," Heatwave said.
"Am I really like my mother?" Hot shot asked.
"Yes you are, sporty, athletic and competitive, that is just like her," Heatwave said. "You are like her in other ways too, you care about your friends and always encourage to do their best even if it means they are going to best you at something and you always are willing to try anything new and do anything to help out, just like her," he said. "I promise we will try to find out if she is still out there," he told him.
"Thanks," Hot shot said.
"I am still use to this dad thing but I am willing to try to get better at it I promise," Heatwave said.
"Thanks, I will try to do better too," Hot shot said.
