A long long time ago...

Penny: aren't they cute

Chief: yes, I can't wait to see what strong police dogs come out of them.

Penny: not all of them will become a police dog, you know that.

Chief: they will if it's on me.

Penny: their is a chance they will have the same problem as you chief. Then they will never even be alowed to

Chief: they will! These pups will be the greatest police dogs!

Penny: I hope you will understand one day.

Chief: the 2 boys will become police dogs in the force! Except for those girls they can... do whatever they want

Penny: don't be so hard on the boys, they will decide on their own what they want to be.

Chase opend his eyes. Next to him was his mom, brother and 2 sisters. His mom was called penny, his brother was named runner, his 2 sister were called: zoey and echo. And his dad is called chief. From day one chief wanted runner and chase to be police dogs. Not just police dogs but police dogs in the force! He started training runner and chase from day one. Penny looked in disbelief how he treated the 2 male pups. They barely opend their eyes and chief was commanding them to sit. Runner was the fast learner. He learned his dads tricks really fast. He quickly became the favourite son of chief. Chase on the other hand had some problems with learning the skills. It was not that he did not want to, he just could not really do it. Chase was just not ment to learn skills at that age. Chief would rage at him everyday saying that he had to stop be a useless puppy and start becoming a trained police dog. When chase got older he just did not want to learn the skills. He realizes that what his dad did was not normal (because in the past he thought this is what every dad did) he liked spending time with his brother but he was off training most of the time. Chase liked spending time with everyone but his dad. He created good bonds with his family except with his dad. When the pups were 8 weeks old runner and chase were send to go to the police station to apply as a police dog. Runner was excited because he loved training with his dad and he liked doing the work but he had one problem. He was not a biter. He hated biting and did not want to bite. But because chief loved runner so much he did not care. He thought they would take in runner anyway. Runner went first. Runner told the police station about his good and bad sides. After that chase did the same. Then the police checked the good and bad sides of their parents and grand parents and did medical checks with the pups.

Policeman: okay for runner I got some good and some bad news.

Runner: okay give me the bad news

Policeman: you can't become a police dog because of the not liking to bite

Runner: oh, okay. What's the good news?

Policeman: we do have someone who would like to give you a career change and make you a rescue dog

Runner: what is a rescue dog?

Policeman: he helps humans find other humans or animals from dangerous area's you don't need to bite for the job and you have a goo nose and you are not afraid of much. You would be perfect for the job!

Runner: I'll talk To parents about that

Policeman: and chase, sadly you can't become a police dog eather. With you we found something on the social tests. It may not show right now, but you have the same problems as your dad had. If you would become a policedpg, the chance of you dangerously biting someone is big.

Chase: okay. Thank you.

The pups walked home

Runner: I hop chief will let me become a rescue dog, it sounds like fun and I can still help people and animals!

Chase: I hope so to

Runner: but I don't want to know what dad will say about you not able to join the police because of the same issue as your dad. He was so mad when he had to leave the force.

Chase: yeah, I can already hear him scream about that I am just making up a reason not to go and that it's a useless reason. But runner, what actually happend with dad in the force.

Runner: he bit someone on command but was so mad at the thief he did not let go on command. The person had to get his lower arm amputated because of the deep wounds chief caused. The police force did not hesitate to give him a career change.

Chase: man that's bad.

Runner: I don't know how they found that same thing in you. You are so much more kind than him. You don't show any madness towards anyone.

Chase: he said it maby is still to come

Runner: wel lets hope it Will never happen.

The pups arrive home.

Chief: and how are my new police dogs

Runner: about that dad. The police asked me to talk to you and mom about this. They want to give me a career change

Chief: WHAT!

Runner: they want to make me a rescue dog and I'll be saving people and animals to.

Chief: hmmm. You know what. It's sounds a lot like beeing a police dog. I would say do it.

Runner: okay, thanks dad it means a lot!

Chief: and you chase, are you finnaly able to become a good functioning member of society.

Chase: sorry dad, they see the same in me as they could not see with you. They see rage in me dad.

Chief: YOUR LYING! YOUR JUST MAKING UP ANOTHER REASON NOT TO BECOME A FUCTIONING MEMBER OF SOCIETY!

Penny stepped in

Penny: this is the exact reason he is now alowed to go. From day 1 you knew he did not want to go to the police. So stop making him do stuff he can't do!

Chief: you are falling for his trap. He is a flipping lazy pup who just does not want to become a real dog! He will always stay the stupid puppy

Chase starts getting mad at chief for what he is saying about him

Chase: don't talk to me like that

Penny: chase go to your room now! I'll talk with your dad.

Chase walked to runner who was sitting on the first step of the stairs.

Runner: did not go so wel did it.

Chase: nope, sadly not.

Runner: I'll go calm down the situation. I think it's better for you to stap upstairs with the girls

Chase: thanks brother. I was already send upstairs.

Chase walks to the female pups playing in the puppy room.

Zoëy: that did not go so wel did it.

Chase: no it's not looking good

Echo: wel im sure it's going to be okay. Mom wil make sure he does not hurt you

Chase: yeah

Zoëy: wanna play with us?

Chase: sure

Not much later penny came into the room.

Penny: chase

Chase: yes mom?

Penny: take this.

Penny gave chase a bag.

Chase: what do I do with this.

Penny: go out of this house. I want you to find a lovely family who will take care of you. You don't deserve to be stuck here with chief. I have a feeling your going to end up in a great place with friends who love you. I hope I can see you as an adult one day. I wish you the best my son

Chase: are you sure about this mom?

Penny: I have a feeling. It's going to be okay :). Whatever happends don't give up!

Chase: okay mom

Chase said goodbye to his sisters and brother and penny helped chase to secretly sneak out of the house.

Penny: good luck son. You can do this!

Chase: bye mom.

Then penny closed the door. Chase looked around. He quickly went out of the sight of the house so his dad would not see him outside. Then he stopped and started to realize what happend. His mom just kicked him out of the house to free him. Now chase was a free puppy. Free from the responsibility of becoming more than chase could be. And he went on his journey. That evening he reached the beach of his city. Their he layed down. Dogs were. Alowed to be here 24/7 and friendly stray dogs always came here to relax from the busy city. Then chase saw a light flashing. Every views seconds a light came by flashing towards the city. It was already dark so chase could not see what it was. He went to the upper part of the beach and found a map. The map displayed land north fro. The beach to the water. It was not far so chase decided to go swim to that land. The map said their was a tiny town with no services their. Somehow the town has survived till this day without them having any services like police stations hospitals or firedepartments. After a long swim chase saw a giant bridge over the water. Then he saw the beach in front of him. He was swimming faster then ever to get to the beach. When he finnaly reached the beach he layed down and fell sleep in the sand.

On the morning he got woken up by the sound of a young boy. A 9 year old was next to him and was petting him

Kid: hello, are you okay little puppy.

Chase looked at the boy. He looked friendly and honestly chase had never had such a great belly scratch from anyone.

Chase: yeah I'm okay.

Kid: where are you from?

Chase: from across the waters.

Kid: do you need help going back?

Chase: wel I was not planning on going back now. I am just looking for some cool towns to explore.

Kid: so your on your own?

Chase: yeah kinda

Kid: me to.

Chase: really

Chase and the kid started to meet up once in a while. The kid said his name was Ryder. He was very loved by the town because he was always ready to help out the citizens of adventure bay. Ryder and chase just started growing together. On a day Ryder was next to the big bridge on a big empty field

Chase: what are you doing?

Ryder: I'm going to be building a tower

Chase: why

Ryder: wel I have been thinking and I think if we can find a view more dogs we would make a great rescue team.

Chase: sounds cool.

Ryder: yeah
