After Falco leaves Reiner and Jean to deal with the detonator that was on the front of the Founding Titan, he flies over the large skeleton so that they can try to locate the Titan that had captured Armin. This Titan looked like some kind of Cart Titan and it was shaped like an okapi. Annie locates him in the most central part of the Founding Titan, slightly ahead of Bertolt's Colossus Titan. She tells Falco and he flies toward the center, but again the Warhammer Titans launch different projectiles to bring them down, so he has to reposition. He can't get too close to Titan Okapi, Bertolt is too big and won't let them get close. Annie realizes they don't have much of a choice, so she suggests something.
- Falco, try to go towards Bertolt, let's jump on him, I already jump transforming and we already eliminate him there, his body when it falls can take a few more Titans with him.
- But if Titan Okapi is caught? - Mikasa questions. - Armin will die.
- The Titan Okapi will flee and he is not so close to Bertolt. - Annie says so with all conviction. - I don't know if Eren really wants to be stopped, but he didn't kill Armin for what they said, he could have killed him easily, so I think he's just keeping Armin out of the game.
Levi dislikes the idea and retorts. - Armin may be an exception, but even so, we cannot tell if he is still alive, he may have already died in that Titan's mouth. - Annie frowns, would Eren really be able to do such a thing? Levi continues to speak. - He tried to kill everyone else in the first attack, I said, at the moment we should not think of Eren as he was. - Mikasa's head still has those words that Jean had said "we need to kill Eren".
- How do we do then? - Questions Annie. - Falco can't get very close to this skeleton pile and even if he gets too close he's an easy target for that many Titans. If he gets hit, it's over for all of us.
Mikasa looks at all that big bone structure, is that really Eren? That same boy who saved her years ago, who wrapped his scarf around her? She takes her hand in her pocket and finds it.
- Armin is still alive, that Titan just wrapped his tongue around him, Eren wouldn't hurt him. - Everyone at Falco looks to Mikasa. - We must follow Annie's plan, if we eliminate Bertolt it will be less of a problem for all of us.
Levi is not yet confident of this, but what alternative would they have? He looks at his leg that is apparently broken and knows that there is nothing he can do to help. If they just jump in the middle there, there's still one Colossus Titan above all, who's almost untouchable and he can do some damage from where he is. Levi then thinks to himself:
- Damn it Erwin! What would you do? That day Armin took your place and I don't regret it, he really had the same sparkle in his eyes as yours. He can finish off all this pile of bones in an instant, but what would Eren have done to him? That idiot. - Levi looks at Mikasa and says:
- We'll stick to that plan, but I only want Annie to focus on Bertolt. Mikasa and Connie have to jump on Bertolt first, you have to use him to get down and then you have to go to the Titan who arrested Armin. Even though he's not that close to Bertolt, we can't risk him getting caught when the Colossus falls. You must make him walk away, when you go towards him, he must just run away. - Everyone looks at Levi and nods his head.
Falco flies in the direction of Bertolt, who tries to hit him with his hand, forcing Falco to swerve to the right, thus getting close to the back of the Colossus. He doesn't have time to land, as many of Warhammer Titans shells are heading his way, but it gives Connie and Mikasa time to jump. They fall in the left corner of the Colossus's back and run towards their raised arm, using that to make a bridge with the Founding long bony pilasters. After this, Falco soon had to leave where he was, was still the target of many projectiles and Annie didn't jump. As he veers off and tries to find a moment to get close to Bertolt again, Annie speaks to him:
- Go up Falco, take a certain altitude and then I will jump, at a certain height, the speed I fall will be able to completely pierce the back of Bertolt's neck and this will probably give Mikasa and Connie time to get close to Titan Okapi, causing them to have already driven him away. - Levi looks at her and says:
- This may not work, when you fall you will be crushed, you would have to leave your Titan in the middle of the air after drilling Bertolt, there is no way you just get out of it, you would have nowhere to go, you are not with O.D.M Gear... - So Levi looks at his leg and remembers his promise to Erwin, he has to kill Zeke somehow, but he doesn't know where he is, much less if he's still alive. It's not worth risking all this because of this uncertainty. Levi takes away his O.D.M Gear., and meanwhile, says to himself in his head:
- I'm sorry Erwin, your last order I couldn't fulfill, but I can't let your sacrifice have been in vain, I can't let everyone give up their lives for an uncertainty. - He remembers Hange and all his companions. It hurts for Levi to make that choice, but he gives his O.D.M Gear to Annie. - Go Annie, use my O.D.M Gear and do what I told you. - Annie goes ahead and equips herself. As Falco climbs, he tries to keep to the same direction as the Colossus Titan's head is and when it reaches a point that he thinks will suffice, Annie jumps.
- Hold on a little longer Armin. - She falls towards the head of Bertolt, no Titan down there sees her fall and during her fall, she manages to spot Mikasa and Connie running through the arm of the Colossus Titan, they finally jump from his body. Annie looks down and still wonders:
- Is Bertolt there? Even if he were, he would want me to end it. - A yellow light fills the skies, indeed a lightning bolt is falling. She transforms and tries to keep the body in a straight position, then completely pierces the nape of the Colossus Titan. After the body of her Titan has passed through that nape, she soon comes out and targets her O.D.M Gear on the central bony pillars. It's been about four years since she last used a O.D.M Gear, she may be a little rusty, but she'll soon get the hang of it.
Connie and Mikasa who had left Bertolt's arm, soon aim in the direction they saw the Titan Okapi, he is not far away, but it is as if the Titan realized that they would go after him, then soon sets off to flee and many other Titans already aim at Connie and Mikasa. As they follow the path, a bang is heard right behind them, Connie looks back and sees that half of Titan Colossus's body is gone, eventually forming a huge hole more to the left side of the pillars that lie exactly in the middle. Connie just listens to:
- Connie! Get out of there! - Shouts Mikasa, who was already above him on his right diagonal. - A Titan Jaw appears right in front of you, ready to bite you. - Then he quickly aims down and manages to deflect, he only thinks:
- I almost died! Eren is really trying to kill all of us? - Without realizing by his temporary state of shock, a shadow arises that covers him. When he looks back he sees the body of a Beast Titan, but he is falling sideways and from behind his neck comes Annie. She's coming your way and stops on his side.
- What are you doing Connie? Come on, if we stop we will die. Where did Mikasa go?
When Mikasa sees that Connie has managed to escape, she continues her pursuit of the Titan Okapi. He is almost with an escort behind him, but for Mikasa, she knows she will simply kill everyone to get Armin back. She moves around the central structure when a Female Titan appears in front of her ready to pick her up, and she makes that swivel move that stings her arm and leaves her back, so she aims the O.D.M Gear in the back of her head and finalizes it. While that body is falling she already targets the face of a Cart Titan who is below her on the right. She goes with everything in her direction, the Titan opens his mouth and jumps to catch her, but Mikasa releases the hook and uses the gas from his O.D.M Gear to pull to the left, that bite passes in front of her and she throws her two blades at the back of his neck. While performing this move, a Jaw Titan who was on his right diagonal on one of the central pilasters had already jumped in to bite her, he was out of his sight, but Connie reaches up and cuts her neck in the middle of the way. When Mikasa finishes the blow and restocks her blades, she only sees the body of a Jaw Titan falling almost to her side. She looks up and spots Connie and Annie passing by at full speed. She gets ready and heads towards them.
Annie spots the Titan Okapi, he's heading towards the center of the Founding Titan and there's a Beast Titan a few yards ahead. She is going at full speed towards her and shouts for Connie to stop and get further behind. Annie waits for the right moment and turns her body to the vertical, as if she were putting herself in a form to kick something. When it reaches a certain distance, it cuts itself with its ring. A yellow explosion forms at that location and a leg is forming in mid-air, the leg of Annie's Female Titan hits a kick that simply rips the head off of that Beast Titan. She falls behind that body and already puts herself in the combat posture, puts her body half on the side, keeping her hands closed at chin height, placing her left leg in front and her right a little further back. An Attack Titan not bigger than she, gets ready to punch her face, but quickly she deflects to the left with her body and puts her right leg so that it aligns with the left, getting her body completely sideways. His punch passes in front of her, so she grabs that arm with her two hands and moves her left leg to the middle of the Titan's legs, serving as a support for her body when she pulls it. He bumps into Annie's shoulder and somersaults in the air, falling with the back to the ground. Annie steps on his head and Mikasa flies off at full speed, Connie stops at Annie's shoulder, he decides to stay there to help her with the other Titans around.
Mikasa spots the Okapi a few yards away and next to it is an Armored Titan heading towards her. He tries to catch her in the air, but Mikasa quickly spins her blades and cuts his hand off from the inside, aiming straight at her shoulder. When the hook retracts, she just jumps off his shoulder. She doesn't kill him, his blades wouldn't cut that armor on the back of his neck. When she jumps, she chases Okapi for a while longer, but finally manages to get to a distance that hits the hook near him, but he veers to the left and heads toward the path opposite Mikasa, almost as if he were returning to the central of the Founding body, where Bertolt was. Mikasa quickly tries to reposition, but even if she doesn't reach him, Titan Okapi will run into Annie and Connie. She goes with everything in her direction, some Titans jump in the way to stop her, but all are sliced by their blades. She finally reaches a distance that hits Okapi's back with her hook and goes for him. Mikasa already puts herself in a position to cut off the back of her neck, but when she's almost at him, that Armored Titan she didn't kill throws herself in the distance between Mikasa and Okapi. There is no way Mikasa deviates, she ends up hitting heavily and breaking her O.D.M Gear. She falls to the ground and is a little numb, tries to get up, but soon falls completely. Mikasa is rendered unconscious.
After Annie has smashed that Attack Titan's head in, she and Connie go in the direction the Titan Okapi was running, they go head-to-head with some Titans halfway through. She ends up spotting Okapi running on the left side and he's heading towards her. Annie, who was fighting more for the central structure of the Founding Titan, quickly switches to the left and accelerates the pace to go against the Okapi. He's really going in her direction. Annie's just trying to deflect all the scams, she can't stop running and fighting now, she can't let that opportunity go. She passes through all those Titans and apparently there are no Titans coming with the Okapi, so they end up meeting. Both were still running, so they would crash, but the Okapi tries to jump on his right diagonal and Annie jumps in that direction as well, managing to catch him with both hands and falling back to the ground. Lying on the ground, she holds him as if he were lying face down, he struggles and then she turns to the left and puts a knee over Okapi's body, pressing him to the ground. She soon puts her two hands in her mouth, one at the top and the other at the bottom, she will pull Armin out of there by force.
Connie had been a little behind, but then he saw Annie on her knees? He does not try to understand what is happening, for behind her are many Titans, so he leaves as soon as possible in his direction. Annie uses all of her strength to open that mouth and finally when she starts to open up, she hears footsteps behind them, but her concern at the moment is to free Armin. She then cries out:
- Come on, you damn pig! Come on Armin, get out of there. - She can see Armin, he is completely wrapped in that tongue. She just keeps saying:
- I don't know if my father is still alive, damn it, Armin, I can't lose you now, not after what you did for me. - She receives a spear from a Warhammer Titan on her shoulder, those Titans who were behind her are already very close. Annie is about to burst that mouth and for a moment Armin opens his eyes, he's still alive.
Armin doesn't understand exactly what's going on, wasn't he in the coordinate with Eren just now? That face in front of him, is that Annie's Titan? Why have two hands around her neck? - Suddenly Annie's head is violently ripped from her body and her hands that were holding that mouth end up giving way, and as it closes, the body of Annie's Titan tumbles to the right side and behind her, Armin sees the silhouette of Eren's Attack Titan.
Connie approaches Annie and notices something strange, the Titans who were behind her stop in the middle of the road and what he sees fills him with terror. His hands begin to shake a lot, as it is Eren's Attack Titan that is behind Annie's body and in his hands he is holding, by the hair, the head of Annie's Female Titan. Connie stares at Eren with terrified eyes, who ends up taking that head towards his mouth, biting the back of the neck. They do not find themselves too far apart from each other and it seems that Eren notices Connie's eyes, soon after eating Annie, he turns with that mouth dripping with blood and looks directly at Connie. Connie is almost swallowed by that look, he is completely paralyzed and Eren's Titan just turns his back on him, going in the direction the Titan Okapi was coming. Connie is haunted by his thoughts:
- What was that I just saw? Was it really Eren's Attack Titan? Did he... did he eat Annie? Where is Mikasa? Where is Eren going? - For a moment his hands stop shaking and he continues to think: - If that's Eren, if I kill him it will all be over? - He then leaves towards Eren's Titan.
Connie goes with blood in her eyes, after what she saw he knows that if that's Eren, he should be stopped at all costs. Connie spots the Attack Titan not far ahead, but among them there are still many Titans, but they all do not attack Connie, in fact, stand still and let him pass. Connie attaches herself to a bone structure in the left corner and then finally spots Mikasa not far away, she appears to be lying on the ground.
Mikasa begins to open her eyes in half, her vision is still quite blurred, but she feels strange, has anyone holding her?
- Annie, is that you? I'm not seeing straight yet, have you managed to save Armin? - Her vision slowly returns as she is being lifted and she only sees this huge shadow that is against the light, she recognizes the silhouette of that face, the one and the Titan of Eren. It occurs almost like déjà vu, just like the first time Mikasa sees Eren's Attack Titan, he's here again to save her.
- Eren? It's really you, isn't it? I knew that all of this wasn't you, let's go back...
At that moment Mikasa is hurled into the mouth of Eren's Attack Titan. Connie sees it happen, does he really see? Could Eren have eaten Mikasa? Right now he knows it's all over, there's no turning back. Eren's Attack Titan begins to walk towards Connie and the Titan Okapi accompanies him. Connie is standing upright in the vertical, so Eren's Titan passes in front of him and simply ignores him, heading towards the center. Connie just accompanies him with his look, he's too desperate to do something, but for a moment he yells:
- Eren you bastard, how can you do this! Even with Mikasa! Won't you kill me? - Eren stops walking when he hears these words, he looks back where Connie is and stares at him for a few seconds, but again goes on ignoring him. Connie keeps screaming:
- You think I'm a coward, don't you, you idiot? That I don't deserve to die in battle? - He then holds on with all his strength those triggers that are with his blades, gets ready to go towards Eren, he has nothing left to lose and maybe everything depends on him. When he's ready to use the O.D.M Gear and come out of where he is, a huge hand grabs him, one Female Titan has caught him. He's completely trapped without being able to move an inch, and even if he comes out of it, his O.D.M Gear must have broken because she's squeezing his body tight. The Titan is leading him towards his mouth, he knows what comes next and all he has left is to scream. She opens her mouth wide and leaves Connie facing her, at the height of her face, so that she can throw him in, but Jean appears flying at extreme speed and cuts that wrist completely. When he cuts her hand, he already aims at her neck and goes towards the back of the head, able to defeat her. Connie falls down with her hand still holding him, the fall is from a considerable height and he was being pressed hard by that hand, so when he falls to the ground, he becomes unconscious.
After Jean kills the Female Titan, he goes to Connie who was still trapped, he manages to release him, but Connie shows no reaction. Jean puts his right ear to Connie's nose and feels a slight breath, he must have just fainted. Just ahead, did he really see Eren's Attack Titan? And that next to him is that Titan who had captured Armin? He does not see completely, for many Titans arise, blocking his view. In his head he thinks:
- Now, what should I do? Should I go after the Titan with Armin? What about Connie? And that body of Annie's Titan, is she dead? Where the hell is Mikasa? - There are many questions that arise in his head and the only answer that comes into mind is that he has to get out of where he is, the Titans are going towards him, if he stands still he and Connie will die. Jean puts Connie over his right shoulder and holds his right hand around his back, so Connie doesn't let go. He won't let anyone else let go, he can't allow that to happen again. Jean won't be able to do much in that state, in fact, he doesn't know if he'll be able to get around right, but he needs to do something fast, because a Jaw Titan jumps towards him. Quickly Jean aims his O.D.M to his left diagonal, heading into one of the long pilasters of bones, he thinks to go after Armin, has no way to stay just flying and deflecting from the Titans, even with Connie on his shoulder, he must fight to the end.
Jean then goes in the direction he saw the Titan Okapi and he realizes that some Titans are disappearing, he is still the target of all the Titan there, but most are simply disappearing. He does not stop to think of it, just going straight and deflecting from the Titans, until in front of him he sees a huge hole in the Founder's left side, is that where the Colossus Titan was? He looks to his right and sees that there are many Titans there, due to his complication he chooses to try to fly over that hole on the surface. Jean then goes through the bony pilasters, until half the body of a Beast Titan appears on the spot where Jean would target the O.D.M, so he uses his gas to readjust his body and be able to aim the O.D.M away from Beast, but something is wrong, why aren't the hooks coming off? It starts to fall towards that huge hole. Your triggers are no longer triggering the hook, is the gas gone?
- Damn, not now! - He starts to fall with his body lying down and keeps clicking on the trigger, but nothing really comes out. Amid panic, still holding Connie, he turns him and tries to trigger his trigger, but it also doesn't work. By this time, Jean holds Connie's arm as they fall and apparently they have completely passed the Founding Titan's structure. They are in free fall and the countenance on their face is a mixture of despair and fear. As he falls, he looks to his left and realizes that he has already passed through that great stone tower, the last fort of humanity has been destroyed. He looks to the structure of the Founding Titan that is increasingly on top of him and just closes his eyes, he knows that everything will be over.
Jean feels an impact. Should you feel something when you're dead? Why is this ground soft? - Jean opens his eyes and sees Levi and Gabi, he understands that he is somehow on Falco and that he is still holding Connie's arm tightly. He's a little groggy, doesn't believe he's still alive and Levi soon pulls him to be face to face.
- What happened Jean? Where are the rest of the staff? Why they have not exploded anything yet, soon Eren will end everything! - Jean looks at Levi and can't hold on.
- They are all dead, captain, that damned Eren. - Levi and Gabi look at him with a desperate look, Falco hears that and is also haunted by those words. Jean continues to scream with a tenor of fear and despair. - I couldn't get to the detonator, a Titan ate him, Pieck and Reiner, damn it, they died to save me. - When he talks about Reiner, Gabi is paralyzed.
- How can Reiner and Pieck have died? Reiner is the Armored Titan, he can't have just died. - She can't accept those words, it can't be true. - Falco inside his Titan sheds some tears, he had already imagined the moment he would talk to Reiner about the fulfillment of his promise. - Jean continues to speak:
- I passed the body of Annie's Titan that was lying on the ground without his head and I didn't see Mikasa anywhere, I believe she was eaten. - Levi, perhaps for the first time in his life, shows pure fear, Eren is so willing to fulfill his mission that he even killed Mikasa? Jean asks Levi:
- What are we going to do, captain? We have to do something, right? Should we look for Armin? Or try to find the Titan who ate the detonator? I didn't get a good look, but we can look for him. - Jean says these words with a mixture of despair and madness, he needs to hear something to comfort him. It cannot end like this, it has to have a way out. In Levi's mind only the thoughts arise:
- So that's it? Everything we've been through, all the deaths of my comrades, it all comes down to this? Every time I saved Eren's ass in the belief that he was the hope of humanity?! It can't be. What about Zeke? What about my promise to Erwin? How many times could I have killed that bearded idiot and did not kill him? Our last meeting, could I have prevented all this from happening? - Falco is still flying over the Founding Titan, but he is no longer the target of any projectile, it's almost as if there was no need to shoot him down.
- Say something, Captain! What are we going to do? - Jean shouts and everyone looks at Levi. He then replies:
- We need to go. - Everyone gets a stare at him, is Levi giving up? Gabi retorts:
- We can't do that, we can't stop fighting, there must still be a way to stop that thing! - Gabi sounds desperate.
- There isn't! We sent three Titan shifters and nothing happened, Jean and Connie barely made it out alive and Mikasa is dead. How do you think that with me all beat up, a girl, an unconscious soldier and a completely tired soldier, would defeat Eren? Even if I were in my best shape that would be hard enough and we wouldn't know what to do, Eren by now has wiped out 90% of humanity. The only thing we have left is to leave, there is no way to stop Eren. - Gabi and Jean do not know what to say about this, it is really very difficult to turn their backs, but what could they do? - Levi tells Falco to leave, he must turn around and go towards the island. Levi tells him to land before they reach the island, because technically, they're all considered enemies of the Yeager Faction. Falco then goes in the opposite direction of Eren, all there present a look of disappointment and dread, and for good or evil, they will remain alive, and will continue to live in a world that was destroyed before their eyes.
