It had been three days since Lexie had dropped a wrench on one of her eyes, which thankfully she could now see out of much to her delight. But it also had been three days since she saw that mysterious figure, Lexie wasn't sure how to feel about not seeing it in a while. Was it a good thing or a bad thing? Lexie just couldn't decide which one it was, but she didn't really have time to think about that since yet again she was busy working to fix the countless amount of problems the ship was throwing at them. Lexie couldn't care what they were as long as it wasn't to do with the artificial gravity, the last time that went haywire wasn't ideal by any stretch of the imagination. It was in fact quite late, but still Lexie's shift still hadn't come to an end, even if it did officially end three hours ago. "Could you pass me that laser cutter please Keenser." She called, with a small grunt Keenser handed her the tool she had requested. "Thanks." Just then Lexie heard footsteps heading in her direction, "Aren't you officially off duty at this moment in time lass?" A voice called out.

"If you want to get technical then yes Scotty, my shift ended three hours ago." Lexie replied, not bothering to stop her work. "Then what are you still doing down here?" "Fixing the wiring on the plasma converters, they were starting to spark." Lexie heard Scotty sigh loudly, "You could have just told me and I would have sorted it out, my shift doesn't end for another four hours." As Scotty spoke he watched Lexie shuffle out from under the console she had been working on. "And drag you away from the list of jobs you've already got to do? It was just quicker to do it myself, besides it's all done now." Scotty didn't know how true that was, three hours wasn't exactly what he would call quick but he wasn't going to argue with her. "Fair enough and I appreciate that lass, I have a list as long as my bloody arm." Lexie chuckled as she replaced the panel back on the console, "You're welcome Scotty, guess I'll leave the rest to you. I'm knackered!" "I bet you are, off to bed with ya lass and I'll see you in the morning." Lexie smiled as she patted Keenser on the shoulder before heading off, leaving Scotty to continue the work.

Lexie walked in to her quarters to find Delta sleeping peacefully on her desk, she couldn't really blame him since it was quite late. Quietly walking over to her closet, she pulled out a set of pyjamas and headed off into the bathroom to change. It was surprisingly warm in her room, maybe it had something to do with the environmental controls being on the fritz but Lexie didn't really mind. She had lived in Ohio for most of her life, therefore she was used to the warm. She swapped out her trousers for a pair of shorts and her shirt for a grey tank-top, but as she pulled the top down over her stomach there was a sharp pain. Nothing too drastic but it did catch her by surprise, the origin of the pain was the scar which was located there. "That hasn't hurt in months…" Lexie muttered to herself, she could clearly remember the last time it hurt even if she had tried to erase that memory from her mind. "Please don't start this again, now's not the bloody time. Once the ship stops breaking every bloody second, you can hurt as much as you bloody like." She muttered angrily, as if her scar was going to listen.

Thankfully it seemed like that was all the pain that she was going to get. Lexie knew if it carried on she would have no choice but to go and see McCoy, she knew how bad the pain could get. When Lexie walked back into the main room she noticed that Delta was awake, his bright green eyes were softly illuminating the room. "Sorry Delta, did I wake you?" Lexie asked sweetly. Delta shook his head, "No you didn't Lex, I wasn't really asleep. You're back late?" "I got caught up in my work as normal, sorry should have sent you a message saying I was going to be down in Engineering a bit longer." Delta just stared at her. "You call three hours a bit longer? That's basically another shift." Lexie just rolled her eyes as she headed for her bed, "I could have been down there much longer, that was if Scotty hadn't found out that I was still working." Delta just rolled his eyes, which made Lexie chuckle as she climbed into bed. "Well I'm going to try and get some sleep. Night Delta." "Night Lex."

But before Lexie could settle down completely, her door buzzed. "I swear to god, if that's Scotty I'm going to lose it." Lexie muttered angrily as she sat back up in her bed, "Come in." She called, much to her surprise it wasn't the Scotsman who walked through the door, but McCoy. "Oh sorry kid I didn't mean to wake you, Scotty told me that you only left Engineering a little bit ago so… I… Um..." The Doctor stuttered, Lexie chuckled as she watched the Doctor try and string together a coherent sentence. "It's alright McCoy, I've only just got into bed. Is everything OK?" "Yeah, since you were so busy during your shift today you completely forgot about the check-up we had scheduled. You know, for your eye." Lexie tried to get her brain to work, but it seemed it had already fallen asleep. That was until she did remember. "Oh course, I'm sorry McCoy. I didn't mean to forget, I wasn't avoiding you I swear!" McCoy smiled as he walked over to the bed, "I know you ain't been avoiding me kid, you may have picked up a few things from Scotty but you're still smart enough not to hide from me… For the most part anyway."

Lexie smiled as she gestured for the Doctor to sit on the edge of the bed. McCoy pulled out his Tricorder and began to scan over Lexie's eye, which still was a little bruised. But at least she could now see out of it, Lexie just wished the bruising would fade a little quicker, at least then it didn't look like she had gotten in to a fist fight. "It's healing nicely, in another day or two the bruising will be completely gone." "Thanks McCoy." The Doctor smiled as he put his Tricorder away, "You had any more hallucinations recently?" Lexie shook her head. "No, not for a few days." McCoy smiled, "That's good then, but if they start up again come and see me OK? I might be able to help you with them." Lexie nodded, "I will, don't worry McCoy." The Doctor then stood up and noticed Delta sleeping on her desk. "He looks so peaceful." Lexie smiled, "He sure does." "Well I'll leave you to get some sleep, sorry to disturb you Lex." Lexie patted McCoy gently on the arm. "It's alright McCoy, see you tomorrow. Have a good night." McCoy waved goodbye before leaving the room, when the door slid shut Lexie laid down once more. As soon as her head hit the pillow she fell into slumber, still with a smile on her face.

It had been a few hours since Lexie had fallen into a peaceful sleep, but that was not to last. Lexie blinked her eyes open only to realise that she hadn't done it in reality, but within her own dream since all that surrounded her was white. "OK, this is an odd feeling." Lexie hadn't done something like this in what seemed like forever, it was something she didn't really enjoy doing all that much. Lexie just hoped that whatever she just woke up to was going to be pleasant, but of course she didn't have that much luck. Lexie watched as her surrounding slowly turned dark, as if all the light had been sucked from the world. "What's going on?" Lexie muttered as she backed away, where to was anyone's guess. Just then she began to hear a distorted voice, it was so distorted that Lexie couldn't make out what it was saying. It wasn't as if she wanted to, it was freaky enough as it is. The voice gradually got louder and louder to the point where it was making Lexie's ears hurt, a dream was hurting her. "OK, I want to wake up now." Lexie muttered as she covered her ears, it was then when she saw a figure in the distance, one which was slowly coming towards her. "OK, I really want to wake up now…"

But still her own mind refused to release her, meaning that the figure continued to get closer to her but Lexie still couldn't see who it was. That is if it was a person at all, "Who are you?" Lexie finally asked, her voice breaking several times. She wasn't against admitting that this was freaking her out a great deal, she hated these types of dreams with the passion. But Lexie instantly wished she had never asked, since when she was finally able to see the figures face her heart felt like it was going to stop. Stood in front of her was Kyle, but if that wasn't terrifying enough he then spoke. "Hello Lexie…" Lexie opened her mouth several times to scream, but not a single sound came out. It was only when Kyle took another step towards her that Lexie finally managed to scream, which in turn woke her up. Lexie frantically looked around the room, it looked like she was awake. But something didn't feel right, something was missing. She glanced over to her desk to see that Delta was no longer there, "Delta?" But he didn't reply. Lexie looked around frantically, was she still dreaming? As she looked to the bottom of her bed Lexie felt her heart skip a beat, stood at the bottom of the bed was Kyle, grinning at her menacingly.

"NO!" Lexie screamed as she bolted up in her bed, "Lexie, what's wrong?!" Cried a voice. Lexie looked over to see Delta standing on her desk, but was this real or just another part of her nightmare. Hoping she was really awake she quickly pinched her arm, it soon became clear that she was no longer trapped within her own mind, she was indeed wide awake, which she was a bit more than grateful for. "Lexie?" She turned to face Delta again, who had a panicked look on his robotic face. "Are you OK?" He asked sweetly as he jumped down off the desk onto the bed, "I'm alright Delta, just a bad dream that's all." Lexie replied as she watched Delta take a seat in her lap. "Do you want me to get Scotty?" "No it's alright Delta, it wasn't that type of bad dream. I think I'm just a little stressed out at the moment, with things breaking on the ship every dam minute." Lexie didn't want to worry Scotty, he had too much to concentrate on. Besides, he wouldn't leave her alone and he would most likely tell her that it's just her subconscious mind messing with her. Mind you, Lexie wasn't really sure what just happened. What did that all just mean? Lexie then felt Delta move off her lap and then heard him jump back up onto the desk, there was then a soft melody which began to drift around the room.

Lexie closed her eyes and just listened, "That better Lex?" "Yes Delta, you know just how to cheer me up." Delta smiled as he hopped back over to Lexie's lap, he snuggled his head into Lexie's chest. "Whatever happened in your dream Lex, just remember that it wasn't real." Lexie smiled slightly, "I know it wasn't Delta." But Lexie didn't know if that was true, she knew that most of the things that happened in her dreams had either happened at some point in her life, or they were going to happen. Sadly Lexie couldn't tell which one of the two it was, just then she was dragged from her thoughts when she felt Delta shift about on her lap. She glanced down to see her digital companion sleeping peacefully, his head resting on her. "He's just so dam adorable." Lexie whispered to herself as she scooped him up in her arms, but instead of putting him back onto her desk she just laid him down next to her, while she did the same. "Sleep well Delta." Lexie whispered as she gave him a gentle 'boop' on the nose, Delta then muttered something but Lexie couldn't work it out so instead she just smiled before closing her eyes to try and get some sleep, but she was hoping that whatever just happened didn't happen again.
