Chapter 2 has arrived, sry for the month gap, lol.

Chapter 2

Hermione's POV

I was studding in the library and I noticed that Five was chatting with Nico in a corner. They were whispering and Nico looked visibly distraught. I moved a table over and silently listened.

"But he's the doctor!" Nico quietly exclaimed

"He's gonna be okay, your boyfriend is going to be fine. Don't worry." Five whispered back.

So that was why Nico had gotten so worked up when Damien mocked him for not having a girlfriend. That made sense.

"I know, I'm just nervous." Nico sighed

"Oh, Hi Hermione!" Five said, they finally noticed how close I was.

"Hi" I stammered

"Lunch is pretty soon, can you help me get there? The hallways are kind of confusing." Five asked me

"Sure." We walked in silence to Lunch, we were almost the the great hall when one of the portraits said something odd.

"Oh, you are Adria's brother!" A picture of a smiling young women said.

"Oh, hi." Five said

"Is she doing okay? I haven't seen her in years, she's starting to worry me." The portrait said.

"Oh, um...She was helping one of the riders and the umber ocean took her." Five said hurriedly before rushing into the Great Hall. The portrait burst into teas and began sobbing loudly.

I quickly followed Five into the Great Hall and bid a hurried goodbye to the portrait. When I caught up with him I gave him a look.

"What?" He asked

"Why did you make that portrait lady burst into tears?" I asked

"She probably knew my sister." He said quickly

"What did you mean by the Umber Ocean took her?" I inquired

"She fell into the Abyss of Chaos when helping another rider.(Five's Sister is an OC from Iron Rings and Please Stay. Not that important, but an Easter egg for those who read my other stories.)"

The what? I thought

"Oh." Was all I responded with

"It's fine, she did when I was 14, and I didn't even know her that well anyway." He explained

"Okay." I said

"Death happens to everyone, She died when she was supposed to." He said, squeezing my hand. A warm feeling ballooned in my chest. I smiled.
