It was the first day of classes and I was so exited. That morning at breakfast I sat with Harry, Ron, and Hermionie. They all seemed really nice, and even though Harry was famous he didn't seem to like it. Our first class was transfiguration and Professor Mcgonnagal said she wanted everyone to transform a mouse into a teacup. The only person who got it was Hermionie. Our next class was potions, and we made a potion about blood relatives. Professor Snape said that blood relatives can make potions that protect another but it involves a selfless sacrifice (usually of your life) so today we were just making potions to see who we were related to. Snape said that we might have similar smells to others if we were related like cousins or even farther then that. He said if you were pure blood or halfblood to expect others to have close smell to yours. So everyone made the potion and oddly enough me and Harry's smelt exactly the same, super weird but I'm pureblood and Harry's dad is pureblood so who knows. That night after classes we were all sitting in the common room. Everyone but hermionie had to practice transfiguring mice into teacups so there were a lot of squeaky mice running around.
The next morning I got an owl from my parents asking how my first day was and with everything I forgot. Hermionie who got an owl from her parents as well (her parents mailed it to the wizarding post office and they sent the owl since she's muggleborn) Ron also got mail. All the kids around the Gryffindor table were reading letters or eating candy they're parents sent them... except Harry. Me Ron and Hermionie all noticed at the same time and offered to share candy's with him at the exact same moment which resulted in hysterical laughter and made it a lot less awkward.
I sent my parents an owl back recapping my whole first day and telling them I got in Gryffindor! I also put something in asking if either of them were related to Harry and told them about how our potions smelled the same. I wasn't exactly sure what I thought they were gonna say I just thought I should mention it. The rest of the week went on the same with Hermionie acing every class and homework assignment and everyone else struggling with pretty much everything.
