Chapter 1
The battle taking place on the planet Yerbana was sure taking a turn for the worse. The pilots could barely provide support for those on ground assault since they were having their own problems with the Hyena Bombers and it was not looking good as many of the ships were being shot down one by one.
As if the pilots were having a bad enough day, the same could not be said for ground assault. Not only were the droids gaining the advantage with their numbers, but their tactical skills were proving to be superior, thanks to the assistance of a Separatist super tactician droid.
Despite the droids gaining the advantage on them, the soldiers knew retreating was not an option. The people of Yerbana were suffering enough already and they could not afford to let the people or the planet's resources fall into Separatist hands. Taking the planet back was a top priority.
The troops kept pushing through the barrage of heavy fire and pressed on with their attack with Commander Miles leading his unit. One of the Virus Droids began firing torpedoes at the troops and one of them was headed straight for Miles.
Suddenly, a flash of light energy appeared and the light of energy cut right through the torpedo. Standing right next to Miles was the man who saved his life, his General, Jedi Master Edward Elric.
"General!" Miles called out in relief.
Knowing it was pointless to press on this suicidal attack, Edward gave Miles orders. "Miles, get down!" He deflected the laser bolts that were aiming for Miles and the troops retreated among the debris as Edward covered them and hid among the debris as well.
"The attack is not going so well, General," Miles informed Edward. "We can't locate the tactical droid. He's staying out of sight."
"I figured he would," Edward figured. "That tactical droid is too smart to take a risk to be part of the battle. I wish there was a way to lure him out. And at the same time, we're outnumbered."
"You gotta be kidding me. This is what you call outnumbered?" Appearing on the battlefield so casually was none other than Inuyasha, dressed in his dark Jedi robes. Inuyasha didn't seem bothered by the chaos taking place or the fact that his Master, Edward and his troops were in a dire situation.
"Well, it's about time you showed up, Inuyasha," Edward told him. "But in case you didn't notice, we're taking heavy fire here. So if you were smart, you might want to take cover."
Inuyasha chuckled. "That's a laughable statement. You'd expect me to take cover on these numbers of droids. We can take them on without breaking a sweat."
Knowing Inuyasha was acting too cool about this and knew he wouldn't be acting like this unless he had a plan, Edward raised his eyebrow and said, "Alright, what exactly do you have planned? And where's Captain Mustang?"
"He's waiting for my signal so we can easily take out these droids that you're so obviously having trouble taking care of," Inuyasha replied, being sarcastic and not being thoroughly detailed about his plan.
Edward didn't find that response very comforting when it came to Inuyasha's strategies. "I really hate it when you give me a vague response and never fill me in on the plan."
Inuyasha laughed a bit. "Now where's the fun in that. Look, just don't worry about it. Trust me. Everything is well taken care of."
Edward sighed. "Alright. You've never let me down when it comes to your plans, so I'll trust you on this."
"Glad you're seeing it my way," Inuyasha grinned with confidence. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to negotiate with the droids."
Negotiate? That was something new for Edward to hear that word from Inuyasha. He was never the kind to negotiate as he tends to think with his Lightsaber than his brain. Edward was curious on where Inuyasha was going with this plan of his.
From the enemy side of the battlefield, one of the Separatist droids informed the Commander of a problem they were having at firing at an enemy target. "One target is approaching. We can't hit it."
"Identify the target," the Commander droid ordered.
Looking through the electronic binoculars to see who it was approaching, the droid informed of what it was. "It's a Jedi."
Knowing a Jedi approaching the battlefield was bad news, the Commander gave the next orders. "All batteries take aim at the Jedi."
Inuyasha raised his hands for the droids to stop firing and said, "Hold your fire! There's no need to continue this battle any longer. I've come to surrender myself to you."
The droids were baffled and shocked to hear this announcement from Inuyasha. "Surrender? That's a relief."
"We better notify the tactical droid."
"I have to admit that your forces put up quite a good fight against us," Inuyasha continued. "But we just have to face the fact that we're overwhelmed by your superior firepower. I'd have to commend you on that."
Little were the droids unaware that Inuyasha's bragging was all just a distraction and a ruse. Hiding on the side of the bridge of the battlefield was Inuyasha's faithful friend, the animal droid fox, Tails.
Tails watched for Inuyasha's hand signals. While it seemed he was moving his hands casually in front of the droids, he knew Tails was watching for his signals. Recognizing the signal Inuyasha was giving him, he crawled down where the rest of the troops were, hanging under the bridge as they were eager to spring forth into action.
Crawling where Mustang was, the Captain asked, "Tails, how much longer are we stuck down here?"
"It's almost time," Tails informed. "As soon as Inuyasha lures out that tactical droid, then will be your time to crash some clankers."
"Great," Mustang replied. "I'll tell the troops." Going under where the troops were still hanging under the bridge, he gave them the news. "All right, troops, just hang in there a little longer."
One of the advanced troopers, Gino Weinberg, sighed with impatience and to the corny joke Mustang made and replied, "Sir, yes sir."
Inuyasha kept rambling on. "And as a Jedi, I humbly surrender myself and our forces to you. The only condition I ask in this surrender is that no harm comes to my troops."
Finally revealing himself in the battlefield was the tactical droid. Inuyasha knew he would take the bait and had the droid right where he wanted him.
Approaching the Commander droid, the tactical droid asked, "Why have you ceased fire?"
"Inuyasha, Jedi Knight, has surrendered to us, sir," the Commander droid informed.
Making a grin once more, Inuyasha mumbled, "I have you now."
Knowing these battle droids would fall for a stupid trick like this, the tactical droid said, "It's a trap, you fools! Open fire!"
"Now, Tails!" Inuyasha urged.
Tails quickly informed Mustang. "Time to crash the party."
Acting quickly, Inuyasha used the Force to drag the tactical droid over to him. Activating his blue Lightsaber, he sliced the tactical droid's head off. With the tactical droid out of the way, the droids were leaderless and would be running around firing their weapons without a strategy.
Letting themselves go, the troops activated their jetpacks and flew up towards the bridge and jumped right in and ambushed the droid army. They came in with heavy artillery, firing their blasters and throwing in bombs. In mere minutes, they already took out the first battalion.
Edward watched on, amazed once again by Inuyasha's strategy. Just when it felt like they were outnumbered, Inuyasha always finds a way to save millions of lives and keep another star system from falling into Separatist hands.
Knowing Miles was keen on joining the troops to take on the next battalion, Edward nodded. "Go ahead and join them, Miles. After all, I know you want in on the fun as well."
"Yes, sir," Miles replied and gave the signal for his troops to proceed forward with the attack. "Alright, troops! Let's blast the rest of them!" All the troops followed after Miles and joined Mustang in taking out the rest of the droid army.
Edward casually walked and stood next to Inuyasha. They knew there was no need for them to join the battle and were confident that the troops could handle the rest from here.
"You always continue to amaze me, Inuyasha," Edward commended. "I don't know how you did it, but thanks to you the people of Yerbana can rest easy."
"Yeah, well, I can't take all the credit for this," Inuyasha said, giving Edward a soft punch to the shoulder. "I mean, I wouldn't have been able to pull this off if you weren't so helpless."
Knowing Inuyasha was joking with that remark, Edward laughed a bit and replied, "Well, I'm glad I was some use to you in your plan."
Inuyasha heard his comlink beeping, figuring it was coming from Admiral Soichiro Yagami. He answered the comlink and said, "This is Inuyasha. What is it, Admiral?"
"Sir, we received a transmission from someone using your subspace frequency, 'Fulcrum'," Soichiro informed.
Inuyasha looked at Edward and said, "It could be Lapis."
"The fact he needs our help could mean the siege on Onderon isn't going so well," Edward presumed.
"No, this transmission did not come from Lapis," Soichiro corrected. "I don't have much time to explain, but it's best if you come aboard and take this transmission yourself."
Inuyasha and Edward looked at each other puzzled on who it was that was contacting them. Knowing the troops had everything well in hand, they boarded a shuttle that took them back to their Republic warship.
Arriving on the bridge where Admiral Soichiro Yagami was waiting, Inuyasha said, "Ok, Admiral, what could be so important about this transmission? Another planet that needs saving."
Soichiro nodded. "It's something like that." He put the transmission he received right through and two hologram figures appeared.
What Inuyasha and Edward saw took them by surprise as it ended up being a familiar face they thought they would never see again. After all, who else did they know have beautiful scarlet hair?
Standing before them was none other than Erza Scarlet, Inuyasha's former apprentice.
Inuyasha thought this would be a dream, but it was really her. Ever since she left the Jedi Order, he always felt tremendous guilt for turning her in to the Jedi Council when he should have done everything in his power to clear her name. But that no longer mattered. She was finally going to see her again.
Erza looked at her former Master and replied, "Hello, Master. It's been a while."
Standing next to Erza was a young Mandalorian woman that Edward recognized as Sui-Feng, the adoptive sister of his former love, Winry Rockbell.
Still taken back by this unexpected meeting and trying to figure out what to say to her, Inuyasha said, "Erza… I… I can't believe this. How are you? Where are you? And are you okay?"
Erza made a small smile. "There's no need to worry. I'm fine. As much as I would like to talk, but I have urgent information that you both need to hear."
Willing to hear out Erza, Edward asked, "What is it, Erza?"
Erza nodded and revealed the information she had for them. "Lady Sui-Feng and I have located the renegade Sith Lord, Acnologia. And if we act quickly, we believe we can capture him."
This was indeed big news. Edward knew capturing Acnologia was of utmost importance. If they were able to capture him, he'll be able to provide some answers that have been puzzling the Jedi. They talked with Admiral Soichiro Yagami to give Erza and Sui-Feng permission to board the warship.
Little were they all unaware that chaos was taking place over on capital planet of Coruscant.
