The Rise of The Grey Lord
I don't own Harry Potter, if i did, Harry would be a badass and actually have the power to defeat someone like Voldemort. The right to Harry Potter belongs to JK Rowling.
Harry Potter sat on his bed in the Gryffindor Boy's dorm, a tsunami of emotions going through him, anger, sadness for himself and disappointment. Harry's name had somehow been drawn from the Goblet of Fire, despite the fact there was a Age Line and he didn't enter his name, He was told by Barty Crouch, the Head of The Magical Law Enforcement, that he had no choice but to compete since the Goblet of Fire came with a Magical Binding Contract, that if broken would carry out severe punishment.
The entirety of Gryffindor had not believed him when he said that he didn't put his name in the Goblet, even his best friends, that betrayal hurt the most, he had expected the reaction from Ron, but even Hermione believed that he entered his name in the Goblet.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, he kicked the side of his bed, he sat down on his bed and closed his eyes. This wasn't time to mope about his life, he had to come up with a plan to survive in this God Forsaken Tournament.
He need to start reading advance books, he grimaced, he doubted that he was caught up on the current 4th level books, he had seriously neglected his studies in favor Quidditch and fooling around.
A thud from the Boy's dormitories alerted him to a presence, no one was supposed to be here, everyone was supposed to be in the great hall.
"Hello? Whose there?" Harry asked, no one answered, he couldn't hear anything, not even breathing. "This isn't funny!" Harry called out once more. No one answered. All of the sudden, there was a bright light, Harry had to cover his eyes, The light dashed towards him at blinding speeds and hit him in the chest, Harry stumbled back and tripped hitting his head on the side of the bed.
The last thing Harry heard was a victorious laugh and a whisper, that sent chills down his spine. "Finally! I have found someone worthy." Harry didn't get to find out what the voice meant, quickly succumbing to sleep.
Harry woke up with a groan, he looked around, everything was blurry, he reached for the side table, fumbling around a little, he found his glasses and put them on, he took in his surroundings and suppressed another groan.
He was in the infirmary, oh how he hated this place, there was nothing worse then this wretched place, but the real reason he hated it was the Demon that was in charge of this place, she was known as Madam Pomfrey.
"Mister Potter, it seems you are awake." A voice said from his right, speak of the devil. Harry put on his most charming smile.
"Hello Madam Pomfrey, always a pleasure to be in this dun-place." Harry said correcting his slight miss up.
Madam Pomfrey raised an amused eyebrow. "You need to work on your lying skills a bit more.", and Harry sighed "Nothing ever gets past you, does it." Harry said with a small smile.
"Well, when you've been a Healer for as long as me, you start to pick up on these things a bit, well this is a story for another time, now, you seemed to have it your head on the side of your bed, nothing serious, just a small concussion, i took care of, when you were asleep, you are free to go." She told him.
Harry nodded, muttering a "Thank You" Harry quickly got out of is bed and hurried out of there. He stepped into an empty corridor and set out on a brisk pace, he got 18 steps before he paused. Where could he go. The Gryffindor's wouldn't allow him entry to the common room. Hermione would probably be at the library. He really didn't want to go to the Great Hall.
That left only one place, the problem was, he hadn't been there since 2nd year, and even that left some bad memories in his mind. Reigning himself, Harry set out towards the girls restroom on the 3rd floor, Harry thanked his lucky stars there was no one i- he spoke too soon.
Standing infront of him was Neville Longbottom, he was nice enough to Harry, Harry interrupted him, when he saw him open his mouth to talk. "Please Neville, i've gone through too much shit right no, don't get on my bad side." Harry said tp Neville.
Neville shook his head. "I know, i know, i just wanted to tell you that i believe you." Neville told him sincerely, Harry blinked a few times. "You do?" Harry asked him, praying this wasn't a cruel joke.
"Yeah" Neville said to him. "But why?" Harry asked, wanting to know, if he was acting out of pity. "Well, you've been nice to me and i don't see any reason not to trust you, also you don't seem like the guy, that does something like this." Neville said to him, Harry let a genuine smile cross his face for the first time since his name came out of the Goblet. "Thanks, it means a lot." Harry told him.
"No problem, anyways i got to go, see ya!" Neville said to him, hurrying off, to... where ever he was going. Harry gave a little wave, then he took off to the Chamber of Secrets, faster then before, not wanting to run into anyone else. Harry arrived at the restroom, he stopped infront of one of the sinks. "Open!" Harry commanded in parseltongue .
The sink creaked open to show a tunnel, full of dust and cobwebs. Harry decided to test out a theory of his. "Stairs!" Harry hissed once more, and to his very welcoming surprise, stairs decided to come out at of the wall, going down in a spiral manner.
Harry stepped down 3 stairs before looking back. "Close!" Harry hissed, the sink doors closed and Harry continued down the stairs for 5 minuets before he arrived at a cave, the same cave where Lockhart had tried to obliviate his and Ron's, his name filled him with anger, memories. He saw the shed of the 60, no, roughly 75 foot Basilisk, that he defeated in second year.
Harry continued forward until he came across a wall. Commanding it to open with a hiss, entered the fabled Chamber of Secrets, he was the second person to ever discover where the chamber was.
He walked forward until he came to a stop, just infront of him was the Basilisk, it looked like it had only died yesterday, well he supposed it would, since Basilisk could live up two 2 millennia.
He ignored it and went up to the face of Salazar Slytherin, standing infront of it he hissed "Speak to me Slytherin, greatest of the Hogwarts four!" Harry wanted to snort, even if Slytherin was regarded as one of the most powerful Dark Wizard, he had pretty big stick up his ass.
The mouth of the Slytherin opened to reveal a tunnel, Harry entered it, he took out his wand and cast a Lumos, the tunnel light up, Harry kept on walking, eventually the tunnel came to a stop, a dead end to be precise. Harry stopped, was this the end of it? surly it couldn't be,
"Blood Ward." A raspy voice said in his head. Harry snapped his head up. "What, who is that?" he muttered. "Blood Ward, cut your finger and press it against the wall.." The same voice said to him, Harry did as he was told to, the voice was very commanding, he resigned to figuring what the voice was later on.
Harry bit his finger hard enough to draw blood, he pressed his finger to the wall and to his Awe and Fascination, the tunnel wall split open to reveal a stunning room, twice, no three times, no four times, bigger then his dorms.
It looked like it had been used just yesterday, there was no dust, no cobwebs, it looked perfectly clean, there was a giant bookshelves, decked out with books, probably on the Dark Arts, there was a fire place and a giant couch infront of it, there was a desk and chair, on them was a litter of papers and a dozens of quills and quite possibly hundreds of quills. In the back he could see a kitchen.
Harry entered but a invisible wall sent him tumbling back, he looked up and saw a hologram of numbers.
Chamber of Secrets, Private Chamber, Last Accessed: 1012 years ago.
Harry got up and dusted himself off, he hissed in Parseltongue. "Open!" The invisible wall disappeared, Harry walked through and stood in the middle of the room, he was once again in awe of the room he was in.
Deciding not to waste anymore time, he went straight to the book shelf, he picked out a few books. Advance Transfiguration by Polis Studmore. Charms for Aspiring Masters by Rolf Namatso. Secrets of Potions and Alchemy by Salazar Slytherin. Introduction to Dark Arts for Beginners by Herpo II. The book that really caught his attentions was The Book of Rituals by Matsumo Grindelwald.
Harry grinned, not wasting any time, he hurried to the sofa and sat down, he pointed his wand at the fire place. "Incendio." nothing happened, Harry tried again, nothing, he gave frustrated sigh. "Don't jab your wand at the end." That same voice said again. "Who are you, show yourself!" Harry demanded, he felt really silly when nothing happened, just as he was about get back to reading. "If that is what you wish"
Suddenly there was a flash, Harry covered his eyes, when the light died down, he saw a man, he looked somewhere in his mid-40's, He had Golden White hair, a handsome face with high cheekbones, one of his eyes was a beautiful blue and the other a terrifying gray, he had a mischievous smile, he would have looked easy to approach, if it wasn't the dangerous Magical Aura he was radiating.
"W-who are y-you" Harry internally cursed for stuttering, if possible, the mans blue shined and his smile grew more mischievous. "Is the learning so bad these days, that people forget about the most powerful Dark Lord in History." He said. Harry jumped up in fright. "Voldemort!" Harry shouted the first thing that came to mind. The mans eyebrow twitched a little. "No you dolt! I'm not that fool Voldemort, he is a mere child compared to my power. You may call me Gellert Grindelwald." Gellert said.
Harry almost fainted, the man infront of him was said to be dead, not to mention really powerful, so much so that even Dumbledore feared him, and someone like Harry didn't hold a candle to him.
As if reading his mind, Gellert put his hands up in a placating manner. "Relax! I'm not here to hurt you." He said to Harry, Harry sat down but was still tense. "What do you want from me and how are you here?" Harry asked him.
"Well, you may know me as Grindelwald, anyways when i lost to Dumbledore in our final duel, which by the way was extremely unfair, i mean, 1 vs 15, come one, and i just got rid of like 50 Aurors, let's not go off-track, i cast a spell, a very ingenious one, one only known by the Grindelwald Line, it would take my memories and family magic, copy them and they would find a worthy heir to continue my Line, i had no heir of my own so i cast this spell, and here we are almost 50 years later." Gellert explained to him
"B-but why me, i mean, sure I'm above average in defense but that's it." Harry said dejectedly, Grindelwald raised a single finger and wagged it side to side. "Tut-Tut, well obviously your weak, i mean you're severely malnourished, you have half a dozen bones broken, that have not been fixed properly and you had a leech inside your head, i got rid of that, your welcome for that by the way, but the real reason i was drawn to you was the limitless potential you possess, more than Albus, Voldemort and even myself." Grindelwald told him.
"I have two more questions, WHY THE HELL WAS THERE A LEECH IN MY HEAD, and also why should i follow your path?" Harry asked him, curious to the mans reasoning.
The mans face hardened, losing the shine in his sole blue eye, now he looked more like a Dark Lord, one that brought several countries to their knees, it made Harry gulp. "The leech in your head belonged to one Lord Voldemort" He sneered at the name. "That fool was stupid enough to make a Horcrux." seeing the confusion on Harry's face, he elaborated. "He split his soul, multiple times from what i can tell from your memories, you'll have to forgive me for that by the way, the Horcrux was leeching of your magic and combined with the other... circumstances, your body wasn't able to fight back, i suspect after you do what i tell you to do you'll regain 90% of your magic back." Grindelwald told him, Harry nodded grateful to the Dark Lord infront of him. "Second, most people misunderstand me, Harry look at it like this, The Earth has a Population of 5.6 billion, out of those only 30 million are wizards, now that wouldn't be half as bad, if the Muggles didn't have access to the sort of weapons they do now." Grindelwald paused, looking at Harry who was listening intently.
"They have weapons that could level an entire continents, in just a click of a button! do you know the saying "People fear what they do not know." well that is entirely true with muggles, i saw first hand how a group of muggles killed their own child, just because he could do Magic!" Grindelwald said, sounding outraged and disgusted at the same time, Harry along with him.
"But surely we don't need to kill all Muggles." Harry said to him, to his surprise Grindelwald nodded. "The history books tend to exaggerate events, especially those that are destructive so they can make the winners, themselves appear better." He said bitterly. "I never wanted to kill so many, i preferred to law-low and manipulate from the shadows, only when my opposition attacked first, did i fight any of them, it was only then i caused destruction. So you see Harry, i don't want you to go on murderous rampages killing all the Muggles, no, you shall do what i did, attack from the shadow's, as they are our allies." Grindelwald said passionately. He looked at Harry, who was looking at him in Awe. "Do you understand Harry?" He asked, Harry nodded.
Grindelwald stuck out his hand. "So will you, Harry potter help me achieve this goal?" He asked.
Harry looked at his hand then at him, his brilliant eyes, the color of the killing curse, shining with determination. Harry reached out and grabbed his hand and shook it.
"I will."
Grindelwald's smiled like a madman, the shine in his single blue eyes returning full force.
So there you go, how'd you like this chapter, please tell me in the reviews.
This Harry will be slightly OP, i mean anyone would, if they were taught by, in my opinion, the Strongest Dark Lord in all of history. Plus he'll be spamming a ton of rituals.
So this is all folks, see you the in next chapter!
